James Velekost

He looks young, with a cold grim expression ever present upon his face.

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Vincent the Dark God

Description

Image

Personality

He isn't much of a talker, and his cold unfeeling gaze is actually a practiced thing. He more often than not hides his emotions and feelings quite well unless he voices what is really on his mind. He likes noisy places such as clubs, bars, and the occasional political meeting. He does enjoy being out in the wilderness where he is almost certain he will not be bothered though.

Equipment

He has no equipment but the clothes on his back and the skull of his first kill which is attached to a chain that wraps around his torso. Aside from that his skills in decay magics rival that of an expert's experience.

History

His history is inconclusive when it comes to anything that might be filed away besides his birth certificate and first school. He and his contacts have gone to great pains to keep such things from being found and brought to light.

So begins...

James Velekost's Story

James Velekost slowly walked across the sand, approaching from the wastelands to the south. A skull hung by his hip from a chain wrapped around his torso. His expression was dead and he strode as if he had a noble's standing even here. His steps came to a stop as he looked ahead to study the silhouette of Jubei. The blowing wind was against his face, keeping the hair from his eyes.

Not far in the distance a silhouette of a young man is seen, sitting leisurely atop a ruined artillery vehicle. Dressed in a thin black button up jacket and baggy black jeans which covered the top half of his steel toed boots. He didn't seem to be paying any attention to his surroundings for his head was tilted downward, as if he were resting.

As the man came into better view he looked no more than twenty at the oldest, and a skull with a chain running through it sat on his hip while the chain was wrapped around his entire torso. The youth's eyes were closed and he was unmoving, as if enjoying the heat of the blowing wind.

The youth opened his eyes, making his face seem grim and cold. His stare held at the back of the man in white as if he were trying to burn holes through his suit.

Staring down at the man in white with a dead face and cold eyes the youth said nothing for a long moment. The skull on his hip seemed to be crying from one eye, how curious this was not noticeable before. Finally the youth spoke, "You want somethin'?" his tone was slightly deeper than one would expect from someone who looks so young.

"And you would know, a guy who thinks he's Jack Frost and keeps checking his watch because he can never remember what time it is. Have fun with that." said the youth in a flatly annoyed tone.

"Death is unfeeling to all, even you Mr. Pocketwatch." something in the way the youth said that made it sound like he knew it all too well. The young man continued to stare at "Mr. Pocketwatch" as the skull on his hip leaked steady tears from it's eye.

"Shit, that suits me just fine, Mr. Pocketwatch." said the youth with a half smile. He slid off the ruined vehicle onto the ground to stand before the man in white, "So, how do you wanna do this?" he seemed to be dead serious.

The youth took a step away, spacing out his feet and getting ready, "Ooh, aren't you just Mr. Powerful, about to strike down an unarmed kid with your big clock sword." his tone wasn't mocking, but enough to vex someone with a weak will.

The youth smiled and held up his hand to catch the beam. It hit his hand and a strange thing happened, parts of his hand began to decay and heal over and over again rapidly. In seconds it slowed and stopped, "You can't make something into itself." he said as if he were telling a child, then with his hand still outstretched launched a ball of dark grey and green energy. The stuff flowed like smoke and dust as it flew at the man in white.

A smile spread across the youth's face, though his eyes remain ever glowering, "Sometimes complexity complicates things." his tone stayed simplistic, his subconscious scheming and strategizing the developing fight. He brought his hands together and pulled them back to form a circle with his hands, a dull gray and green light began to form as wisps of air began to circle around his hands.

The light in the youth's hands hadn't fully formed yet, but he threw it anyway. He leaped backward as his hands came forward to release the ball of decay at the field, he continued to step backward as he landed to avoid the growing field.

The youth, instead of trying to dodge out of range of the blade, ducked and launching himself at the man in white tries to shoulder rush him before being struck by the clock sword. If he didn't end up like a cow at a slaughter house, the youth would strike at the wrist that held the clock blade while simultaneously striking with his elbow at the man's stomach.

The youth couldn't help but almost stare with amazement as the man in white flew back, hit a rock, crashed through said rock, all from him hitting the man in the stomach. He came to his senses as the four beams of light shot into the air and hit the ground around him. He acted fast and ran for one of the corners in between the fields, leaping as high as he could to clear the area of time distortion. He hit the ground and rolled, springing back to his feet the youth took off like a bat out of hell behind a large half exploded tank. He then began sneaking from cover to cover, keeping an eye on the man in white's location.

The youth watched as the man in white hit the tank with a beam of light through a broken window of a Humvee that rested just behind the tank, thankful he decided to move rather than stay at the tank. He decided to launch a surprise attack of his own and threw another ball of smoky gray and green energy at the man from behind the Humvee.

The youth stepped out from behind the Humvee and leveled a stare at the man in white, "I can stop it if you want, but you'll have to do something for me in exchange. It will rot away all flesh and bone in seconds, there will be nothing left of you." in actuality the youth was purposely making the decay slow down, but the man in white didn't need to know that.

Taking a step back in surprise, the youth stared as the light enveloped the man in white. The youth only stared as Zephyr bowed and gave his name, "Are you serious? To hell with you man. You came here looking for a fight, you find me and try to kill me, then you say 'Oh no thanks I had enough'? What game are you playing at?" James had never backed down from a fight, and it wasn't everyday that he had to fight a demon.

The youth ducked and dodged backwards, staying light on his feet as the blade continuously slashed at him. As he moved backwards he left afterimages of himself made of decay energy, so that the clock sword would pass through it at every stroke. Following the final slash of the blade the youth released a ball of the same energy from each hand at the man in white's legs and at his face.

The youth did a sudden spin to one side of the man in white, slapping the flat of his blade then leaping back to quickly trace a large round symbol on the ground with both hands. The youth stepped back into a ready stance with the symbol between him and the man in white.

If the youth successfully slapped the blade a smaller symbol would appear on the spot where he slapped, glowing with the same dull gray and green energy.

The youth smiled at Zephyr, "How can you find me if you don't know my name?"

"Is that right? Good luck finding the right hospital, and year." said the youth with the smile still spread across his face. He crossed his arms and stared at Zephyr with his ever dead eyes, "I wouldn't recommend you try though, it could end very badly for the both of us."

James sighed and shrugged to himself. To hell with this he decided, he thought to himself, and went on his way.
