A slight and blind woman who could hardly make a sound coming into the room. Her clothes are shabby, dark and out dated.

a character in “The Multiverse”, originally authored by Coloratura, as played by RolePlayGateway

Description

Race: Rather pale caucasion.
Accent: Proper victorian english.
Expression: Forlorn.
Eyes: Ebony.
Disablility: Blindness and fraility.

Jane's looks are plain, she is slender, almost gaunt and her hair is a deep ashy brown with rolling though unkempt waves.
Her face is sharp though not terriblely so and her vacant blind eyes are black as coal,
with a frown usually etched in her full soft pink lips on a face pale as alabaster marble.
Her clothing is plain for her own era and is usually muddy dark colors with little embellishment.
Jane looks only seventeen or eighteen but acts with the word weary nature of an old woman.
She is usually dressed in a black cotton dress as would have been worn by a young maid servant or governess during the 1800s.
Her dark eyes hold anguish and her gaze is austere.

Personality

She tries to have good posture but often looks wilted as if the world presses down upon her, mostly because of her life as a pauper then a widow and what she is now.
When meeting someone new she does not bow to them as an equal despite her former life as a chambermaid or governess.
As she feels if she is of equal wit to them she must not need to though
she does show the proper respect to men for her era as she still adheres to the proper behavior of the 1800s.
Her speech is refined and her manner is well though occasionally a bit of a cockney accent due to her time on the streets of London. She is aloof without intention and tries not to speak with many people simply looking on as if she were separated by them with some invisible glass barrier due to being treated so differently than others in her formative years because of her social status and her strange situation now.
She enjoys painting something she learned in the girls school she attended a time ago, she is quite good at it though rarely is able to.

Equipment

She wears a pewter locket about he neck if not wearing a cross necklace,
the locket contains an petal from a rose given to her by somebody that is long dead.

History

She is lost in this modern age which is not her own, hailing from the early 1800s,
born in 1791 died in 1816, the year without a summer.
Jane is not of this world having died at merely 17 a bitter widow working as a governess ,
having been married to a stern Prodestant clergyman at the age of merely 14 who died at 34.
Her life before marriage was spent as the child of parents as destitute as she would be,
Her father was a failing cobbler and her mother a house wife as only was fitting.
She did housework for wealthier families in London from age six,
making paltry amounts for tiny chores until she was old enough to do much better and more work.
Her parents died in 1799 but she had a saving grace to save her from the streets for a short time.
A mysterious benefactor who liked her looks and would soon become her husband paid tuition for her
to go to school to study all accomplishments and proper manners for a young lady of the time and religion of course.
She married at fourteen as previously stated and when her husband died he donated his small fortune to the Prodestant church of course, he had never liked the wayward demeanor of his little wife anyway. She became a destitute vagabond who refused to sell herself on the streets though was to wretched to be taken as a maid. She did a few odd jobs though wound up on the street no less, in one bitter winter she died of hypothermia and starvation a blessed release for this poor woman.
Only to be awoken and restored to her original state by a curious necromancer who chose her to rise as he liked her name and the time she came from. The necromancer made a slight mistake when brining her back and did not return her with eyesight. She now does not look dead simply ghostly pale, other than that she looks same as she always had and lives in a towering stone estate with the man who raised her and claimed her as subordinate. She is allowed to leave but he can take control of her mind and body at any moment he pleases, he is less a child or companion to him rather than a tool or subject to study.

Jane Agatha Quin 's coal black eyes darted about obviously to no avail, perhaps she was recently blinded as she seemed to forget it for a split second though her life had obviously had enough hardship to make her so. She reached out unknowingly, not the take his hand but almost in defense at hearing a voice adress her although she quickly remembered herself and where she was, then giving a low and formal curtsey in his general direction, that a maid or governess might a duke or lord. Her pale face had frown etched in it and her voice was faint, scarcely a whisper "Good evening..I am in no need of you're charity but I do graciously thank you."

Jane Agatha Quin smiled faintly so it would have been difficult to tell what expression it truly was and her voice was just slight as a whisper among trees "Please, I beseech you not to worry.." She laughed this time though it was so quiet and weak it could have been a small cough or sigh "I know places with no sense and I've seen plenty of bad places." Her accent was old english, proper and cultured though it did have the tiniest undertone of cockney.

Jane Agatha Quin opened the door with a small movement of her hand and stepped into the room her pale skin seeming to glow in the bright electric light that shone near the enterance. Her eyes were closed in a subdued manner, ringed with dark circles and she had a black cane tapping on the floor, obviously blind. Her skin was frightfully pale and figure slight as a rail. She seemed like she wished not to walk on, looking sickly though she did none the less almost as if propelled by some other force. Her clothing was plain a long black dress befitting a governess or school mistress of the 19th century, her collar was white without ruffles. Her voice was dark and world weary though not unfeminine "Good evening..." She spoke to the robot only after giving it a quick and almost unwilling curtsey seeming to think it was a person as she was blind though only sensed the presence, her head always bowed and her seemingly long coffee brown hair tucked into a neat bun with a few stray wisps to frame her face. She looked young maybe twenty with smooth skin free of lines but her air was that of an old pauper woman.

Jane Agatha Quin was bound with metal chains around her ankles. She heard noises outside of where she was but without sight she could not tell if they were friend or foe. She figured the latter and waited to be ordered about, beaten, stolen or sold. She was too dulled by exhaustion to care.

Jane Agatha Quin 's hearing was quite improved from that of an average human due to her lack of sight so she could now make out some of their words. She wondered if she could be found, she had been chained in a dingy sort of area that smelled of mold, she could not see it but in her minds eye it must have been dark where she was.

Jane Agatha Quin heard a girls voice wimpering in a way, this was almost comical to her. So much for there being rescuers or some thing of the like. This was probably considered a hot date spot for all she knew. Jane pulled her knees up to her chest and tried to sleep before she was put to work again.

Jane Agatha Quin mumbled to herself almost fully asleep but still aware of her surroundings "Oh you kids.." She almost laughed at the ridiculousness of the situation. Who were these people a rag-tag bunch of explorers with guns? Soliders? Police? Either way her bare feet were cold on the hard floor and her stomach was hallow with hunger.

Jane Agatha Quin stood up when prodded, she was used to this. New slavers masquerading as a rescue team, she didn't get her hopes up. Being blind she sort of stumbled for a moment. She had actually fallen asleep and her limbs made popping noises when she stood up.

Jane Agatha Quin She languidly grabbed his arm, as if she hardly cared for rescue now that she found out they were just a sobbing young lady and some strange men. "My god. Jane Agatha Quin rolled her eyes "Ah yes, staying small, out of the way, yes I am quite familiar with this. " She sort of stumbled towards the sound of wherever the others in his group were heading, she would not have been surprised if hit with a stray bullet.

Jane Agatha Quin practically forced herself to move with the silly group who were now under some serious fire she was sure "I can't help but wonder where i'll soon be headed to. " She honestly seemed a bit bored, she figured these people weren't competent enough to be rescuers but not cruel enough to be slave traders, maybe they'd try and sell her anyway.

Jane Agatha Quin turned the other slaves who were in the same condition as she just slightly more optomistic about the current situation and possible rescue "I wouldn't get your hopes up, would you look at these people..." She then shrugged maybe they'd get free but why hope for it when you've spent so many years in shackles.

Jane Agatha Quin broke her somewhat calm deamenor to scream quite audibly as Yubon charged them. "Goddamit! Can I just be a slave again or some thing!!" Upon uttering this she had of course ran off from the other slaves and her captors or rescuers, trying to shield herself from any affronts.

Jane Agatha Quin heard the sounds of fighting all around her, and had to ponder up a solution for herself. Running away would only get her lost, but if she tried to fight she probably end up getting beated to a pulp. She leaned near to the ground and felt her way over to Kam figuring she better help or be punished by these new captors or rescuers or whatever they were...She knelt near him. "Anything I can do?" She sounded rather out of place in the midst of the violence.

Jane Agatha Quin shrugged slightly feeling a bit sorry for Kam, and went where she was told. Still doubting the idea of being let free for all she knew his promise was complete rubbish.
