Jayden Ryder's Story
"What?!" Aiedail exclaimed, "That's horrendously inaccurate! You kissed me, I didn't so much as move my lips in response! I can pull up the memory as a video if I have to!"
Jayden raised an eyebrow, "Now that would be an entertaining watch," he remarked, nudging Ethan and leaning in for a stage-whisper, "I think you're barking up the wrong tree, dude. I doubt she even has the right parts!"
Aiedail simply glared at the two. "I'll do it!" she threatened, "And we'll see which one of us is more embarrassed by the true version of events!"
Jayden raised an eyebrow, "Now that would be an entertaining watch," he remarked, nudging Ethan and leaning in for a stage-whisper, "I think you're barking up the wrong tree, dude. I doubt she even has the right parts!"
Aiedail simply glared at the two. "I'll do it!" she threatened, "And we'll see which one of us is more embarrassed by the true version of events!"
"Alright, let me tell you how it REALLY happened," Ethan cracked his knuckles, "never mind what silly video evidence she shows you. I'm an empath. I feel emotion... and lemme' tell ya', this pretty little 'girlscout' AI has some SERIOUS pent up sexual frustrations." He was grinning like a madman. "I could hardly keep her off me. She was just SO entranced with my Militia bravado. I was fearing for my life at one point in time..."
"This story is great and all, and I'mma let you finish," Lysaria told Ethan, raising her hands to pause his speech, "but I say we let her show the video."
The Twinborn glanced at Jayden. "Bet like three drinks that both of them will turn into beets. If AIs can do that, but I'm taking some liberties here."

Aiedail stared. "You have an overactive imagination!" she stated, scowling and folding her arms in a huff. "Arrogance is widely regarded by human women as unattractive!"
Jayden was trying to control his laughter at this point. "C'mon, Aiedail, show us the footage - unless you really were all over him and you're bluffing!"
"Fine!" Aiedail replied, pausing for a moment as she accessed her memory archives. After a short moment, she turned and projected a point-of-view recollection of the events of the interview discussed.
"How about embarrasment, then?" Ethan had just quipped, leaning forward suddenly and swiftly. The young empath kissed Aiedail directly on the mouth. He pulled himself back swiftly after just a few short moments, after which Aiedail squeaked - a rather undignified noise for an android to make, but squeak she did. "I- You- That's hardly appropriate!" she stammered out, "That is most certainly embarassing! I'm ... not entirely sure why, but it is!"
The video finished, and Aiedail frowned. "See! I was the victim!"
Jayden gave Ethan a glance, "I dunno bud, that's pretty compelling evidence. Sure you don't have the hots for robo-gal?"

"Their lips also feel kinda weird. Not bad. Just... cooler. Like, chilled." He shrugged. "...not that I've kissed that many girls before in my life."
Jayden grinned, "Aw, poor inexperienced Ethan. I'm with you on that one, though... probably for entiiirely different reasons, I should add." The racer winked suggestively.
Aiedail let out a sigh of exasperation, "It was confusing! Unexpected, surprising!" she protested, "And I most certainly was not 'all over him' as he suggested before!"

"Oh come on," Ethan laughed, smiling at Aiedal, "I only tease. You don't have to get all upset at me just because you don't know how to kiss..."

Jayden watched the back and forth with amusement, raising a brow. "I'm willing to bet neither of you know squat." he said, nodding. "Not like me. I'm a pro."

"Good luck hitting on each other," Lysaria commented wryly. With a wave of her hand, she disappeared into the crowd as easily as if she had done it all her life.

"Goddamn," he swore, "there's a riot going down on Sol Avenue over gas prices... I need to get down there and quell the mobs." He turned back to his fellow Militiamen. "It's actually been kinda fun, guys. Thanks."

Aiedail sighed after the two disappearing young men, and resumed her silent vigil. She could at least stay patient until it was over.

The setting changes from The 'RIP' to Gambit's Bar
The door of the bar swung inwards to admit the visored figure of a young man. Jayden had left his bike parked out front and decided to poke his head in to see what was going down in Gambit's. Hopefully nothing too exciting, right? He certainly hadn't been able to hear gunfire from outside, which probably boded well. He'd be obliged to do something about it, after all.
As he made his way into the bar, the young racer's eyes fell onto Anodyne, eyebrows rising in recognition. He made his way over with a friendly smile, peering over the woman's shoulder at her game as he approached. "Yo, Anodyne!" he called, "That's you, right? I don't think we've met yet. I'm Jayden - you're with the militia too, right? I saw you at the RIP the other night."

Jayden grinned, not deterred by Anodyne's silent response. He gestured to his own badge, displayed on his jacket freely. "Alright! It's nice to meet another member, I haven't had a chance to do the rounds and introduce myself yet."
He stuck a hand out to shake, "Nice to meet you! Jayden Ryder, space racer extraordinare! Or at least, I used to be. Nowadays I'm sticking more guns on my stuff than extra jet engines. Comes with the new job, and all."
He looked to the seat across from Anodyne, "Mind if I join you? What game y' playing?"
He stuck a hand out to shake, "Nice to meet you! Jayden Ryder, space racer extraordinare! Or at least, I used to be. Nowadays I'm sticking more guns on my stuff than extra jet engines. Comes with the new job, and all."

"Not much of a talker, huh?" Jayden said as he sat, raising an eyebrow. "Looks pretty neat. I might have said once that I would've thought that actually being involved in shootouts would make shooter games less exciting, but I still enjoy racing games so I guess that comparison doesn't work."
He leaned back in his seat, slipping his visor off onto the top of his head and blinking a few times to get used to the missing HUD. "So, d'you talk to the others much?" he asked, referring to the rest of the militia, "You didn't seem interested in hanging with Ethan, robo-girl and I the other night, but I figured it's 'cause we were acting like a bunch of kids." he grinned, "Couldn't blame you for that one."

For the government to show off their shiny, photogenic militia. I know that the veritable army of NPA at that place would've made me a liiittle redundant."
He grinned, "Unless there was like, a car chase or something. I woulda been all over that. I'm not quite so useful on my own two feet."

Jayden nodded, "Well, here's hoping it worked eh? The assassinations have put us in a fix and a half. The sooner we get money to have like, fleets and shit, the better." he said. Huh. Jayden paused to think - he was referring to Terra as 'we' now. He supposed he had settled in faster than he'd thought he would.
It was probably for the best to identify with the place he had signed up to protect, anyway, even if it wasn't his home. He didn't technically have a homeworld, having been born on a ship, after all.

"Well," Jayden said, running a hand through his hair with a slightly embarrassed smile, "I'll admit, when I first signed up it was mostly because it sounded like fun. Because I like being in the spotlight." He shook his head, "That's still a little bit true, I guess, but I've gotten fond of being the good guy for more reason than just looking good for it. And I've grown fond of this planet - first time for everything, huh? I was born on a ship convoy in the Aurora, spent most of my childhood on board. I didn't spend much time planetside until I got here."
He shrugged, "As for not seeming like the others? Maybe. I get along pretty well with Ethan, but I can see where you're coming from, from what little I've seen of some of the others. I give off the impression of not really taking things seriously... ever, but for the most part that's just the way I act, rather than the way I feel."

Jayden nodded, "Yeah... my family were smugglers, pretty much exclusively. Black market traders, that sort of thing. That's the convoy I lived on. They were good people, though - as ethical as it's possible to be in that sort of business. When I was getting started as a racer I ran into a lot of people who were er... pretty opportunistic."
He grimaced, "Lots of lawless planets out there. Or maybe I just had a bad habit of finding them. I had to watch my own back mostly out there, too, since my home was always out in some indeterminate part of space. I wouldn't have made it out alive, I don't think, without the fact that us racers watched each others' backs."
Jayden nodded, "Terra's real different. As much as there's a lot of people with weird and whacked methods of making peoples' lives difficult, there's a lot more people than normal who're actually into doing something about it. It really grows on you."

"That is an odd thing. Of all the odd things I have seen today..." Jayden paused, as if remembering where he was and the bounty of strange sights the city had to offer, "... that is one of them." he finished lamely.
