John Gordo stood in a round clearing with his face raised to the sky and his arms spread, basking in the glow of the sun that flitted through the tree-tops. He smiled even as a cool breeze interrupted the warmth of the sun, truly happy for the first time he could remember since childhood and even those periods in his life had been marked by an unnamable anxiety.

The sound of a crackling fire drew his attention from the sky and he realized he was alone. There was three wagons draped in brightly colored fabric and the pot over the fire was full. The colorful camp was set for an entire troupe and he could not shake the sound of soft singing and bells from his ears. He was just about to say something when the forest suddenly exploded in color.

The trees burst in to a myriad of browns, reds, yellows, and gold and right in front of his eyes, autumn stole the forest. Before he knew it, he had left the clearing behind him. Off in the distance he spotted an impossibly tall, looming figure. It cast an intimidating shadow and while not afraid, John stood in awe of it.

As the shadow retreated, the leaves fell like rain from the trees but he barely noticed. He chased the shadow but no matter how fast he ran it drew away steadily until it was gone. The leaves stopped falling, the trees stood bare and John looked up at the overcast, gray sky. Just then the rain came pouring down and he was running for cover.

He slipped and fell as he ran but the trees seemed to be endless and he was soaked in seconds. When he finally collapsed, covered in mud and out of breath, he looked around and the forest appeared dead. The trees were twisted and gnarled, like great skeletal hands emerging from the dead earth. They reached higher and higher until they were stretched thin and then they were suddenly sucked back in to the ground as if pulled in to Hell.

The ground split around him and the mud was sucked in to the cracks. Jagged rocks rose from the depths and turned in to giant pillars which then turned in to mountains. The dying forest had turned in to a desert but John could not feel the heat even though his mud-crusted clothes were dry. When the pillars and mountains reached their peak, he stood up and aimlessly stumbled forward.

John was so weary that he did not notice the pillars and mountains being shaved down by invisible sculptors. They were shaping in to buildings, some broad and stout while others were tall and narrow. The cracked and broken ground soon turned in to a smooth, paved road and suddenly he was walking through an empty city.

He looked all around as he walked, sweating and breathing anxiously as a feeling of suffocation overcame him. Despite the city being empty, the dull and gray buildings made John feel claustrophobic. But like the trees of the forest and the expanse of the desert, the buildings of this city seemed endless.

Then in the distance he noticed a lithe and beautiful form, twirling and dancing among the dull buildings. She wore a flamboyant and brightly colorful dress that flowed like silk in the wind. He was afraid that if he ran towards her that he would never reach her but he ran anyways. He ran hard and when he drew closer, he grew more and more excited.

Then everything was gone. First it was just the city when mist from the sewers rose up and hid all of the buildings. But then the sky and ground became engulfed in total darkness and if not for the solidity beneath his feet, John would not have been sure if he was standing on anything at all. At last, only the woman in the dress remained and even she and her colors were quickly consumed by darkness and mist.

John wandered through the fog for what could have been only moments or even months but then he saw it, another figure in the distance. This figure was tall and looming like the first but it had long and lithe limbs like the beautiful woman in the city. At first he thought he was moving towards it as the figure became larger but then he realized that he had collapsed from exhaustion long ago.

He looked up just as the figure lurched forward and burst from the fog. Fear, wrath, and sorrow all boiled inside of him as he came face to face with a monster the like which he has never seen or dreamed of. The beast’s snarling visage was enough to make even brave men cry out but Gordo felt more connected with it than anything.

With fangs and black lips dripping saliva, the mouth opened but rather than devour him, the Monster spoke, “Hello, Johnny!”

Tierge Di Grun was a man of wonder, a being of ancient blood, who wished but for the people of Terra to not meet the same fate his ancient brethren did. He was wandering how he would go about this for the last 8 months on Terra, as he meditated on his new spells and new magics created. But the one thing that caught his mind was the new element he created. Tierge had created this element almost a year now. None knew of it's existence besides one. This person only new by accident. He barely stumbled upon Tierge's experiment and attacked him whilst the ending of the experiment was wrought. But he escaped with his life somehow.

Tierge new that he needed to consult Nexus on what happened so many months ago, because this new element that Tierge call the Grunic Element or, Pink Element due to it's color, could help Nexus with his village and other tasks. It would seem that Tierge needed to consult him within the next couple of days however, due to the influx of tasks his organization, The League of Black Mages and Assassins were getting to be a bit too much for his cohorts to handle. Some missions needed Tierge's particular touch.

So Tierge decided to take the long walk through the Dark Forest and Twisted Path in order to see his dear friend Nexus. However, as he transitioned into the Multi-Dimensional-Pathway, Tierge was aware of a few presences that were a bit abnormal. The first was that of a person lost. Tierge could tell by sensing that person's disturbed and fluctuating aura. It was one of anguish and battle, an endless dance of shuffling within the person's mind. Whatever they were struggling with, Tierge knew that the Multi-Dimensional Pathway would only make that battle real, and make the person split his mind into one of himself, one of manifested reality.

Tierge decided he would go help him, for the man looked to be as though he would collapse of anguish and confusion. It would take a while to get there, for the man was definitely lost between scenery and placement shifts of the pathway, but Tierge would use the Grunic Element to hone in and teleport him to the area.

Tierge casted a locking spell on himself, so the area around him and whoever he was going to be helping, would not shift to anywhere but else but where he was currently standing, assuming it shifted at all. He had made the trip to the multi-dimen path so many times, he has learned to manipulate the particular magics of the land. He pull from underneath his cloak a pick cube that about the size of a bowl, and he faced it toward the ground.

"Luuk Kiirth Yuhjinorth!"

Tierge shouted, to hone the element in on the area he needed to go. The cube changed colors, from pink to blue, and the scenery shifted. Tierge found himself staring at constantly shifting scenes, whilst he stood not to far away from a man who was running towards a shadowy figure. The man all of a sudden collapsed and he looked up frightened and exhausted. He looked to be ready to pass out as a he gulped at a misty shadow above him.

Tierge jogged over holding his six foot staff over his small shoulders. Since he only stood a little over 4 feet, Tierge was quite small. He saw that the misty form took on a monstrous shape as he got closer, and Tierge leaped a short distance, and smites the figure with his staff. Dispersing the mist followed by landing, he pirouetted to look down at the horrified lost man.

"Are you al...right?" His pitch was a tad high today. For he has not spoken in months.

When the staff passed through the misty form of the Monster’s face, the image did not disappear from John’s mind. As the mist dissipated, John could hear the Monster’s laughter echoing all around him, taunting him and reminding him of how helpless he was and finally he understood.

The tall looming figure had been his father. He had been the strongest man in John’s life, always offering him something sturdy to lean against and yet never carrying him through his problems. John Gordo Sr. had raised his son to be strong and self-sufficient but when the Monster had ripped him apart, John had felt like a scared little boy again.

The colorful dancer had been his mother. He had no memories of her because she had never been a part of his life except for when he was first born. The Monster often taunted him that he knew more about her than John did and he also made sure that John understood that it was also because of him that she was not in his life. He made certain that John understood it all boiled down to his own weakness and inability to control his demons.

When the misty form of the Monster disappeared, John could only slump there and pant. He did not notice Tierge standing so close to him. With the Monster inside of him, John always felt a presence and that in turn had hurt his awareness of corporeal mortals. Again, time seemed to be a fluctuating thing in this place as he felt like he was kneeling there for hours. He perceived his environment as something non-descript, filling him with feelings of both familiarity and strangeness.

After his breathing became not so shallow and his vision not so blurred, John managed to lift his head and look around. When he saw Tierge, he immediately jumped and took a half-hearted swing at the man but his long arms and the man’s short stature would only allow him to clip the top of the man’s head at best.

“Who ar- Where am I?” John could still hear the Monster’s voice echoing inside of this place. Hello Johnny! It sounded so malicious and yet powerful. John’s own voice sounded so meek in comparison.

Tierge did not like the look in the man's eyes, it was torn, and lost. Scattered almost, one would say it was as if the man was torn between realms with the way his eyes looked at the current moment. Tierge remember being broken like this once, on his journey through the realms of Hell and it's Circles. Upon getting their and being promise amnesty from all internal conflict. He ended up being apart of one Hell's many civil wars. Which left him defending himself against all sort of creatures and demons. He had his soul split once with the fisticuffs of one particular demon. It was not pretty, and rather painful. After 8 months of fighting, and 3 months of split soul, Tierge barely managed to retrieve his other side. That experience made him exponentially stronger, and far more wise. But it left his soul a bit wounded, for Tierge now had pieces of Hell Magic attached to it. Although he solved the magic problem years ago, it was excruciating being in the normal world for about 2 years until he figured how to detach the magic.

If this man was experiencing psychological issues anywhere near close to that experience, Tierge felt great empathy. However, Tierge would help, anyway he could. He was not looking forward to doing any Soul Casting Magic, but if need be, he would. The only thing for now is to figure out the problem. Tierge took a look around, and realized the Pathway was in chaos from tuning to this man's soul, he knew it wouldn't be long before they ended up being dragged into a world of darkness because of it. Tierge decided it was time to go. The shifting scenery was breeding shadowy figure left and right, and they were all listless at first, but smelled the terror and confusion of this wandering man.

Instead of answering straight away, Tierge attempted to help the man to his feet. Tierge poked his staff on the ground and staff began to balance itself by it's on magics. After which, he picked up the man in his arms after witnessing his inability to keep Tierge away out of left over fear and extreme exhaustion. Tierge was rather strong for someone his height, he could lift anything 10 times his weight with rather ease, but it became any normal struggle after that. Tierge casted a return spell on the element in which he pocketed before he attacked the shadowy figure. The scenery shifted back to the forest, where their were some vicious Jackle-Rabbits and harmless Ram-Mules roaming about. A couple of migrating Red-Rimmed Giants were having it out 20 kilometers away over a meal. But otherwise, it was safe. The misty white haze was here instead of the normal black or green haze. Tierge sat the man down under a nearby tree, and casted a healing rune, placing one on the man's heart, and one symbol fell on the man's head, for his mind. These symbol would heal the man internally and externally of any wounds or pain. Tierge casted a regeneration and regain spell on the man for his stamina and magic reserves. It would take a few minutes for them all the fully restore him, but he should be conscious and without internal demons haunting for the next couple of hours. He should be able to speak soon.

Tierge waited cross legged with his hat low, and glowing eye resting upon his staff that was in his lap now. He concentrated on healing the man's mind, and giving the man solace for the next couple of hours. However he waited most, to give his name, and to give him haven, if he so wanted it.

Deep inside of John, the Monster stirred and with it, John's stomach. The presence of Tierge seemed to affect more than just the environment. Tierge's very presence seemed to egg the demon on and had it clawing at John's spirit, weakening his already compromised willpower to the point of breaking. Still, the Monster could not break the crumbling shell that was John Gordo and it was because of the Pathway.

The nature of the multi-dimensional environment weakened John in a way that it did not affect other mortals and while this would normally allow the Monster even greater freedom, it also created something of a gap in their link and it infuriated the demon like nothing ever had before.

When Tierge picked him up, John was too weak to resist but he tried anyways and instead he simply convulsed in the man's arms until he had placed him down under one of the new forest's trees. There his convulsions stopped but he did not look any better. The runes placed on his chest and head would appear to dissolve, like press-on tattoos flaking with water and his skin became tight and clammy. When the regeneration spell was cast, the affect was instantaneous but hardly in the way that Tierge had anticipated.

John's cheeks began to convulse, the skin quivering and twitching uncontrollably while his eyes became horribly glazed over. The magic fueled the Monster inside and made him stronger but the Pathway still maintained the gap in his link with the human known as John Gordo. Yet even if he was unable to emerge, it was inevitable that John would grow weaker as the Monster grew stronger and soon even the esoteric affects of the Pathway would not prevent the transformation that was bubbling just beneath the flesh.

Tierge noticed that the man was becoming more and more disheveled, and more and more weak, it was like his life-force was being drained with every spell Tierge put on the man. As Tierge meditated on this, he wondered what would work. He wondered....he knew of separating spirits, and he knew of demonic purification spells. Their probably wasn't a basic magic Tierge did not know of, that existed on Terra. But He could think of nothing that would have no ramifications. He only barely noticed the second life-force inside him, once the other started becoming stronger from Tierge's spells.

Tierge knew of spells that were not universal, and were like acid to foreign being or anything evil. He also knew of spells that could be marked, and only affect the target in which it was meant for. Tierge knew of only one person who's presence calmed or terrified all others, and would probably have the answer to which would solve this equation he stumbled upon. But Tierge was apart of an organization that ran across these things on the regular, he could fix this...surely. As the 5 seconds it took to think those thoughts passed, Tierge noticed the condition worsen.

Tierge thought some more, he noticed that the spells he casted were of a healing nature, but because of Tierge's nature, they had a hint of arcane remnants left in them, that were infused to strengthen the spells. Though weak the spells were, on a grander scale, these spells sometimes made conditions worse. Tierge realized, he knew nothing of this man's medical history, and he knew nothing of his past. But judging from his nightmarish experience with the pathway, he knew that his demonic other....but way...what if it wasn't demonic?

Where had Tierge seen this before? Tierge realized he was staring at a case that was long forgotten, but had...no....there is no way...

Tierge did something he never did, unless he was around Nexus. He casted all Arcane Magics from his being...he pulled out a jar from a pocket dimension, blue in color was the object, and casted all arcane magics in side of it...This was dangerous on many levels. Because, now Tierge was his core being. An ancient being of peace and weak presence. But a being capable of strong spacial/time/and healing magics. The only thing that Tierge had under his belt to defend was his abnormal strength, his martial arts, speed, and elemental magic knowledge that he cast on a basic level. But he was by all means the equivalent of a mid level mage. Tierge's appearance changed as well. He no longer had a short stature, he now looked about 5'4 inches. His glowing orbs of eyes turned to a vivid blue, and he no longer wore a custom made cloak, instead, it infused into his skin and looked very much like abstract armor and clothing that was noble in nature. Tierge looked like a normal average elven type creature now. He had long flowing white hair that went past his shoulders and his staff shortened. He was regal looking. But that was deception. He was in his most basic form, and that form shifted to the environment and presence of person. This was his most default form on Terra, Tierge realized. He had not done this here before, but it would appear that this would be the case.

Tierge's staff still stored a crap ton of different spells, but they were now weakened and unnoticeable to anyone because they were forced to be inactive. Tierge looked at the man once again. With his odd look, he was going to wait and see how his lack of arcane presence would affect the man. He had only ever suspected a case similar to the Lycanthrop disease case, would be one in a million. But Tierge saw all the same symptoms and was taking a chance. He was still able to defend, so he would be ready. If the man's condition got a bit better, Tierge would use traditional medicines and maybe a more simple spell without arcane hints to it. Tierge needed this man talking first. So he got up and walked a few meters away, so that he could gather some basic ingredients to mesh together for an herbal medicine. Tierge casted a basic barrier around the area, so that the man would not escape. The barrier was made of runes that were elemental. The element being wind, it would blow away any creatures, or people attempting to come within a 30 meter radius. It would also keep the guest in Tierge's sights.

Tierge gathered together some moss, and some blue-jazzberries that only grew on this path. He produced a pot, and other necessities from a pocket dimension. He would ground these ingredients together, forming a mesh after a while. Tierge pulled a bit of jackel-rabbit leftovers from his pouch on his side and made to blend this over a boiling pot. Since Tierge needed a bit of blood and water, he pulled some angelic blood from a pocket dimension. This being given to him by a friend, he did not use this often, donations are certainly rare for this. The angelic blood had healing properties that should help restore any blood loss, by multiplying the cells and restructuring his wounded system to heal any ailments and infections. It would purge these. He collected some more herbs and remedies to add to the soup. Lastly he pulled some water out of the same pocket dimension and boiled all of these ingredients into a soup, the whole process would take 5 minutes until he started boiling the soup. Tierge would use telekinesis to stir, and blend the ingredients. He would also use this to pour the soup into three separate containers to use for later. 10 minutes would pass until he was done, and the soup was finished. He would collect the containers and throw everything back into their respective dimensions. He would store two of the healing soups, and keep one in hand. Tierge kept an eye on his guest the entire time, making sure he was OK. He would go to sit in front of his again, having left his staff there. Tierge would wait a moment before attempting to feed him. He wanted to see if the lack of strong arcane magic, had any effect.

Tierge waited for hours, but nothing seemed to change, until the man seem to dissipate in front to Tierge's eyes. Tierge saw that it was some sort of spell. A homing spell, transporting him from here, and calling him elsewhere. As the the last vestiges of the random stranger disappeared. Tierge knew it was time to leave. So he called up a portal, and vanished off to check on his restaurant.
