"I am quite sorry to hear such!" His voice, though raised somewhat, held in it genuine concern and wasn't unsuited for the relaxed air the conversation enjoyed thus far. Should a monument or state building been defiled on Tannhäuser, heads would have rolled. Though the Queen soon brought up a point that gathered a rather curious glance from Kampf, who now reached down to retrieve his cup, taking the bag out of now-steeped tea. Safety wasn't anything new to Kampf, especially for his well-being, but concern was another matter, especially honest concern that hinged not on someone else's job or life.

"My safety? Wing, I may be God," he tone spun the word around so that one could tell he wasn't entirely serious, "but you do me too much honor." Taking a sip of the tea, which was still quite hot, he drew himself away, quickly, the tea still too hot to taste much of the flavor. He continued, stressing that he wasn't as important as much of the Hegemony suggested. "It's not that I don't agree, the place is filled with savages, but commandant Redwing never lets me out of the LW's sight."

"Still, saboterus exist and I would be sorry if some cruel nation played a trick upon you. I am not certain if you are aware fo the truth of my people's nature?" She asked, voice sounding perfectly polite. "It may help explain things. For isntance, I probably have a hand ful of guards I am unaware of in here now." she said, her voice stern. "And they would do well to leave, now, 'less I find out." she ordered. Nothing appeared to happen, but after a minute, she relaxed slightly, shoulders no longer ramrod straight. "Silly things, thinking I wouldn't know."

Kampf thought for a moment, trying to recall exactly how the race functioned on a whole, though the Queen's example of her own guards peaked his own interest in the matter, rather curious. The sight of the monarch taking on a more authoritative stance brought a smirk to his lips, moreso than the smile that currently inhabited it, but he quickly let it disappear before she looked to him. Her example, however, had taken the curiosity that he had before and began to build on it, his mind whirling with the possibilities. Slowly, he began to ask, the question gaining momentum as he continued, "So your guards... they can disguise themselves?"

Wing sat down her tea and smiled. "My guards, and I, can change shape. I am more than able to demonstrate, if you would like, but I do ask you to not spread the knowledge about willy nilly. Some of the other nations I am in contact with, through my ambassadors, are very against anything not shaped like a human." She knew it too.

"It is quite inborn. I'm afraid we can't spread it about, as it appears biological, and not magical." Almost no study had been done on the issue, due to 'religious grounds.'

The thought of shape-shifters immediately caused a slight feeling of discomfort with Kampf, though he knew better than this. At times he almost believed some of the propaganda that the state spread, not to mention he felt that he, at the least, knew Wing. However, as the thought settled in, he began to consider further the possibilities, as she mentioned that she held the form before him for reasons of diplomatic interaction.

"I would be most gracious," he said, setting down the cup, "if you would be willing to do such. And you need not worry, it'd be unfitting of my image to go around speaking about such. But, if you're able to take the form you have now... can you take any form?"

Wing decided not to disturb him overly much, and changed shape of her features. She now looked exactly like Redwing, but in Wing's clothes. No need to show that their cloth could do much the same. After all, somethings need get out naturally, and what use would they have for cloth that could follow your form?

She held the form for a few minutes, before changing back. "The guards that left were beetles. There is a limit in size, of course, but depending on age, you may be almost anything. In my natural form, I am...large."

The change was instantaneous, but none-the-less impressive! He had missed the change in a blink of the eye, and looking into, what he could've sworn were, Redwing's eyes, he couldn't help but shift in his seat at the shock, though that's not to say he was upset.

Quite the contrary, this had him excited, so much so that he couldn't help but emit a pleasant laugh, his happiness being an emotion he had a hard time suppressing.

She didn't keep the form for long and quickly returned to her traditional one, Kampf's smile from the example still lingering on his face as he listened. Inquiring once she'd finished, out of plain curiosity, "I don't mean to offend, but how large?"

"I am...18 feet and 2 inches long, not including my tail." She said with a smile. "And over seven feet tall." She could intimidate the absolute best of them. It was quite lovely. "I am also quite old, at 376." She said and shrugged. "One of the oldest of my people, but only because we do tend to be an adventurous lot." Death by lack of caution was fairly common. Life was not highly valued here, only accomplishment, and if you didn't accomplish much, then who cared if you died.

The size was rather unimaginable to Josef, who was, understandably, only truly familiar with humans and humanoid beings. On the note of age, he teased her jokingly, the accepted theocratic vision being that Kampf had never died since being exiled from Scatter, chuckling as he did. "Maybe you'll get to be my age, some day. But, in all honesty, that's quite a feat. A man could accomplish much, were he able to live that long." The thought of such a long-lived being couldn't help but remind him of the overly alien Aboraz, creatures that many citizens of the Hegemony couldn't help but resent. Kampf, however, enjoyed an education and viewpoint that others did not, and knew that the Erutin held no visions of galactic domination.

He couldn't help, however, but pry with one last question, though he didn't want to strike her as nosy, "I apologize if I'm pressing this, but can you mimic them in every aspect? Say, their voice?"

"Certainly." His own voice assured him, and then Wing giggled and shook her head. "Though it feels odd when I do." she confessed. "We can create an exact replica, if we are trained to." She admitted and shrugged. "Ah, but back to our conversation. I want to offer you two of my guards, my friend." she said with a smile. "Hand picked to keep you safe." she said with a smile.

Hearing his own voice wasn't something new to the Emperor, hearing it from another's lips, however, was. For a moment his smile faded, but returned as she continued to extrapolate. "Your people truly are talented, and blessed." The offer of two guards came as something of a surprise, even more than hearing his own voice. Initially, he couldn't help but thank her; taking a moment to consider his words, looking to the floor as he did. While he did this, however, he began to think on just what this could mean. The momentary act of thinking out one's speech taking just enough extra time for one to notice. Were one not paying close attention, they'd have missed the change in him, as it was a minor thing, only his eyes bearing something different. Therein laid a glint that hadn't resided there before, its nature unknown to any but Kampf.

"Queen... Wing. I... don't know how to thank you. You're too generous."

"It is no hassle. I would hate for you to be injured in anyway, and they will protect you quite fiercely." It would also help, to have them so close to him. She kept her enemies close, but her friends she kept closer. After all, they knew more about her. Wing gave Kampf a smile. "I hope all will continue to be well for you, and that they are unnecessary, but caution is always wise."

She gave him a small smile. "Of course, with your grand ages, you know this."

"Their dedication is most admirable." His smile returned, he knew, as she suggested humorously, she likely had some ulterior motive for this - international gifts, especially of individuals, rarely lacked them - but he trusted the Erutin, especially their Queen. They were, in a place against it, an honest people. Even one of their folk held more virtues than a thousand in the Hegemony. "As do I, m'lady, as do I. I'm sure you know," he continued, allowing something a grin to form on his face as he glanced at her, "I can't let this favor go unpaid. The Order of the Throne, a chivalric order back in the Hegemony, has yet to count an a-" He caught himself in the nick of time, apologizing sincerely, "I'm terribly sorry, an Erutin, in their ranks." His gaze drifted to her, unmoving as he finished, "I would consider it a great honor were you the first."

Wing laughed. "An alien? Or perhaps an animal? I assure you, either likely applies by your definition. However, I would love to accept this great honor." She said politely. "You are a very generous Emperor, Josef Kampf. You're people are lucky to have such a benevolent man to lead them." She said politely. Oh she knew well about the cannibalism, and made the occasional noise against it, but an animal was an animal to an Erutin, not matter the shape they took. she was more appalled that they were clearly sentient. Still, waste not, want not, she supposed.

"I didn't mean to imply... it was simply habit. Rare are the times I'm able to speak with someone as cultured as yourself." He continued to apologize, it was a thing with him, rather ironic at times, being God. He always insisted on apologizing to those he knew, and cared for, whenever he did them wrong. "Your gift is most appreciated, I'm sure that they will serve admirably."

"I am not insulted at such a plain truth, my friend. Rarely does it get more...out there, than my people when it comes down to it. And they will, or they shall face my wrath." She said simply. "But thank you for your confidence." she said with a smile, softening her words. "It is good to meet a man whom believes in me."

Nodding, Kampf explained as best he could, his mental exhaustion being difficult to put into words for others to understand, "Were there more leaders like you, there'd be no use for men like me." Sighing as he finished, he didn't wish for things to sound as final as they did, and quickly amended his statement with a hint of humor, "Perhaps then I could get some peace and quiet, eh? But the Erutin are, to me, the best hope for peace and quiet in the coming times." A storm will rise, and I pray to whatever God there may be that it doesn't come here.

Wing smiled at that and sipped her tea, thinking of how to best respond. "I do not know if that is possible, as my husband...he grows more annoyed with my dealings in your galaxy. More and more annoyed. I fear one day he may order the shut down of the gates, particularly if he feels I am in any danger." She shook her head.

"We are already moving many of our citizens out of your galaxy and into different, safer colonies." she said and gave him a weak smile.

"I am sorry for such, your husband is, I'm sure, a good man, and acts only out of concern." Pausing to take a sip of his own tea, his mind was still considering the possibilities that these guards could enable. "If you could, please pass to him my most sincere apologies. Were it that I had more time, I would have liked to do so myself..." He smiled, trying his best to keep from sounding too down, "but, I'm sure you understand how governing works. You have my word, however, that no man or woman under the Belkan flag will raise a hand against you." Continuing to partake of his beverage, the topic of relocation came up, and his eyes changed once again, a base note having been struck within him. He inquired, not so concerned about why they were moving, but where,

"They're not being forced from their homes, are they?"

"On Terra yes. I'm afraid our colony there was discovered. But it is a slow exodus there. However, on the other planets...Well, the other nations haven't discovered them, but we dare not linger." she said and shrugged. "Too many nations, like your own, keep a very close watch on their citizens there." She admitted with a wry smile.

An air of passion could be felt from the man, though he did his best, and it was quite a good effort, to suppress it. Relocation was something that every Belkan felt strongly about, having been forced from their homes in the wake of defeat centuries ago. "It pains me to hear such. If there is anything the Hegemony can do to assist, let me know." He stressed his individual, knowing that many members of the Hegemony would view the act of trying to establish contact as some joke or a situation for exploitation. The Hegemony couldn't afford to lose its single, true ally. "There are times when I regret what we do, but I know that it's necessary."

"You are a kind man, Josef Kampf. The guards will be able to have you here in a second, if it is needed." She promised him, and smiled. "Though I sincerely hope it is never needed." She meant it too. "But ah, unless you have any other heavy business to discuss, I have nothing more of politics to say." she admitted to him and sipped her tea.

"And I appreciate such, truly." Standing as she finished, he bowed his head once more to the Erutin Queen, "I believe that is it, for now. I thank you both for the company and the tea, Queen Wing. With your permission I must take my leave."

Wing stood and smiled. "Of course." She said and with a nod of her head the door opened. "I'll guide you to the exit. If you wish to visit, merely let the guards know. They'll arrive later tonight." she said with a smile and escorted him out.

Kampf left the room at her behest, eager to see just as to how these guards would come to serve the Hegemony in the coming weeks.
