"Oh man! I went to Misrana, and Cryo, and all the way out to the aschen territories, and so far." She said, beaming widely at the question. "It was a lot of fun! I made a friend, Kyle, and I got to ride in a ship named Spectre with great AI. I think even Rei was coming around to like me, towards the end." At least a little bit. She smiled to the woman, pleased.

"And I'm not going to get adopted." She shrugged, a bitter smile on her face. "I'm too old. Only little kids get adopted." She was too old at thirteen to get picked for her cute factor, even if she had completely mastered the ability to be even cuter and more adorable than anyone around her. "And you don't age out until you're 21. You can move out, but they can check on you and everything."

"And you got away with your life? Well isn't that something." June said crossing her arms and looking at the small teen in front of her. "I heard that the Aschen were really quite vicious.. for lack of a better word you know?" She continued thoughtfully. The girl was obviously made of tougher stuff that June had initially thought. "So what do you think your going to do now?" June asked Nadya, thinking on what to do with a mortal that could see through a God's avatar. Obviously anyone else's glamour wouldn't have been any issue for the girl, but then again there was something else going on.

"I mean you've got the whole tingly nose, shiney thing going on."

Nadya hesitated a moment. Did the other know? Did she see through? That couldn't be the case, she was just mimicking what Nadya said. "Well, Rei's a good pilot. She wouldn't let me try though." She pouted and then nodded. "But yeah, they're super vicious. Mostly we stayed under their radar. It was lucky!" It was also a lot of skill on spectre's part.

Still, she managed to smile at the note of her thing. "Yeah, well. It's nothing special." She brushed off. "It's Terra. Terra is like this, you know?" Nothing special at all on her behalf. She was pretty normal for a Terran, and she tried her absolute hardest to make it clear that she was very normal, one hundred percent, and there was nothing strange about her.

"Nothing special huh?" June remarked with thinly veiled amusement. She knew that if she looked there would be something there, but what was really the question. Curiosity had gotten the better of her before, and this could very well be one of those times. But, she had promised she would be good, and could likely get amusement later in the week from annoying Kasimir; the man was such a stick in the mud. "Tell you what, since I'm such a nice person.. I think I can find you somewhere to stay for awhile." She said, curious to find out more about this girl.

"As for Terra.. only about ten percent, give or take.. can do what you can."

The girl bit her bottom lip. She could use help finding a place to stay, just for a little bit. Still, the other set off her senses weirdly, and she delved into them, into the bits of her she wasn't supposed to touch until the right moment. Hm. The other was still nerve making, but...but not in a run away they're gonna kill you way. She smiled, trusting her instincts on this. June would be nice, she was sure. Her instincts hadn't failed her before.

"That'd be nice. Thank you. And are you sure it's not, like, 90% of this city at least?" She teased, then grinned. "Ten percent. That's still an awful lot of people. No wonder we keep getting invaded. There's something special here." Though she wasn't certain what.

"Well there is that, but I suspect it's really... well I suspect Wing City is it's own special case." June agreed, but didn't elaborate on why she thought Wing City was the way it was. More than likely it's placement had had something to do with what little magic the world still possessed, or at least this corner of it anyway. Van Leugen seemed to have more, but then again perhaps it was those that were drawn to the city, with it's corruption and deeds done in the shadows, that had the magic. Either way, it wasn't something she really was keen to put much thought into today.

"But, I assure you, she's very nice and will likely appreciate the company."

"Hm. Alright." She agreed easily enough. "What's her name? What's she like? Is she nice, like you?" June seemed nice enough, at least. Nadya could easily be terribly wrong, but she doubted it, given how nice June was being to her, when the woman hadn't even known her from Eve not long ago. Well, now she did. "Oh. My last name is Alexeev by the way. My folks died in an invasion a couple of years back. The police probably think I'm dead at this point though, cause I was gone so long, and getting messages to Terra is tricky given how often the satellites go down, so I don't know if mine went through." It was tricky business, like she said.

The girl managed a small smile. "Hey, how do you know 10% have, well, magic. Is there a census or something?"

"Let's see here.. her name is Laura, she runs an apothecary shop and yes she is very nice." June had to admit that the girl had managed to make a go after all the chaos that had thrown her into the unseen world. Her cover was a very clever thing, much more clever than the one her guardian had come up with. Who would ever think to look for a witch in a place that sold high, hand crafted bath and body products? June certainly wouldn't have, and she'd see how people went looking for them in the first place.

"Well Miss Alexeev, I'm sorry to hear about your parents that must be tough. But you also may be quite right, the police may have decided to mark you as dead or assumed such considering how long you were gone... depending on if your house mother ever reported you as missing." She said dryly. So many complicated details with this one, and so much to hide it seemed.

"You might say there's a census.. yes, something much like that."

"Something like a census. Mmkay!" The teen smiled to June happily. "You can still call me Nadya, ya know. I feel weird calling you June, if you're gonna call me Miss Alexeev." She admitted and then hesitated, just a moment. Still she hesitated and glanced to the other from the corner of her eye. With a heavy sigh she looked June over and wrinkled her nose. "I'm not supposed to say this, but you're not really human are you?" She asked and bit her bottom lip. "I don't think you were ever supposed to run across one of my type anyway, you know?" She glanced up to the skies.

"But sometimes, Boss changes their rules, and they don't tell us." She admitted. "If you're what I think, it wouldn'ta been long for you to figure it out. Being thirteen now though, it really messes with my impulse control." She loved being thirteen. She also hated it all at the same time. Despite mentally, even with most of the memories locked up, being significantly older, physically she was thirteen with all the pitfalls and triumphs that came with it.

"And what do you think is a normal human? I could be one of those special Terran types you were talking about." June asked coyly. It was unusual that someone tended to figure things out right off the bat, as she didn't tend to go for the flashy displays of magic that others did. But that wasn't to say she avoided answering the question if posed, she was simply unsure of Nadya's motives. "But to answer your question directly, no. Most of my colleagues aren't either." She answered as she walked along with the small teen. "Who I run across really depends on the fates and what sort of twisted thread they deign to weave."

Listening to Nadya really made her wonder what sort of being she'd stumbled across in her curiosity.

"Mmm. No, you're not. You shine too much." She explained. "Even the most powerful, most magical terrans don't shine." She said cheerfully. "They glow. It's different." The explanation made sense to her at least. Still, it was good to know that her instincts weren't completely off. The fact that this ladies colleagues weren't altogether human either made Nadya smile widely. Oh this was going to be fun than! HQ rarely sent her to nonhumans with magic. The Erutin thing had been weird enough, and had lasting consequences that transcended form. The extensive scarring on the back on her left hand showed that much, along with various other scars.

"You think the Bosses sent me your way?" She glanced to the sky and considered this, then shrugged. "They're not the best at sending on messages about where to go next, or what to do next, but I can believe it." Still, she couldn't believe that someone that shiny needed her to push them any which way at all.

"Well who are your bosses?" June asked slightly puzzled. The girl had been repeatedly referring to bosses and other things that made her wonder if she was more than some strange sort of planeswalker. They'd had their fair share of weirdness on that end with Bronson, and admittedly her admirer had been fun to toy with. Though, she was a bit disappointed she hadn't gotten to the part where she turned him into a pig. "What I mean to say is you're not making any sense, for anyone of any age." She added while refraining from doing much more than speaking with the girl.

There were types of magic, and types of beings that wielded magic that was less than easy to cover up.

"Oh. I thought it was obvious." She said, cheeks tinted pink, rather embarrassed by her oversight. "The Fates, of course. I'm one of their workers." She explained, uncertain. "See, sometimes heroes, or normal people even, sometimes they don't want to go to their fate. I show up to kind of guide them, or push them. Sometimes I get to be the sidekick, and that's fun. Sometimes I'm the damsel in distress, and that's not the best." It was her least favorite roll.

She considered it carefully and then smiled. "My favorite roll is when I got to help this mage. He was super cute. My roll was to inspire him, to keep his spirits up." She said though her cheeks tinted. "I grew old with him. It was nice." She didn't get to live out a whole life very often. "They don't normally make me thirteen though. So something big must be happening, if I'm supposed to start so young." She eyed the other carefully. "But you're not allowed to tell others, just so you know. The Bosses are gonna be mad enough as is."

"The fates are a meddling group of old hags!" June spat out with exasperation. She should have known, but then again she was rather out of touch with everything that was going on. "And no it wasn't obvious, you were rather cryptic about it and I wasn't going to just rudely poke and prod." She sulked, not in the least bit happy that the girl had nearly gotten one over on her. June was positive that the fates were enjoying her annoyance at this little revelation. "However, I am surprised they allow one soul to do all these things... it's rather unusual."

A single soul to push or pull on the fates of man was.. usual, and it seemed that the fates had learned a few tricks in the last millennia. Sighing she just shook her head, "But, we all have our secrets. Most of my colleagues don't know me as Artemis and I'd be happy to keep it that way. Being a human, even an immortal one is far more entertaining than the bickering politics of my contemporaries."

"Well. Yes." Nadya admitted, smiling at the goddess. "And I'm pretty sure I'm not their only worker." She admitted, and then shrugged, uncertain. "I'll keep quiet about you being you though, promise." She agreed easily enough. That wasn't hard at all. "Besides, I'm pretty sure this is supposed to be some kind of vacation lifetime." She wasn't sure, but she didn't get the feeling she usually did when working. "I mean, usually I can't even think these things, you know? But I can this life, and that's a little weird."

Most lifes that she had lived were not nearly so gentle either, and she couldn't remember anything but the life of whoever it was that she was taking the place of. Usually the recently deceased, or someone with no connections who agreed to live their life in purgatory, as they thought that a better choice. "Tell me about your colleagues. Are they nice?"

"That's more than likely true." June agreed. The three goddesses could be quite a thorn one's side if they took a liking or disliking to you. "But it would be to your benefit to keep mum about this. Only one.. maybe two others know and they haven't said a word." She knew that Alexander knew, and suspected that his wife did as well. Then again the two did seem to not really share much between themselves; it was the strangest marriage or non-marriage she'd ever seen.

"My colleagues can be nice, some even have quite the sense of humor.. but that depends on who you are. Though for the most part they have people's best interest at heart."

"I hope they like me. Will I meet many of them, or just Miss Laura?" She did rather need a guardian, and was well aware of it. Despite her true age, well. She was thirteen now, in just about every way that counted. She needed someone to look after her, no matter how self sufficient she was. For one thing, she couldn't exactly sign a lease. The teen smiled.

Of course, there was no telling if this Laura would even take her in. Nadya was getting the impression that June and her colleagues handled this sort of this often enough to have a system in place at least. She smiled and skipped some, humming a ditty to herself, clearly happy. She hoped Miss Laura was nice. An apothecary was a weird choice in modern times, but it might be normal, now. There were a bunch of new age essential oil types after all.

June thought for a moment, trying to figure out how best to phrase things. "I think you might, I'm not really sure." She replied wondering what exactly would result in the messenger of fate meeting any of the group. "For now I suspect it will be Laura." June said with a nod of confirmation. That would likely keep a lid on most of the crazy that the girl could get herself into, and likely Laura would keep the girl busy enough in the shop.

"I realize an apothecary seems strange, but right now they are very very trendy and it's a good cover for her." June explained as they came to a stop outside a shop with an elegant window displaying various soaps and other products.

"A cover? Do we really need covers?" Her brow furrowed. Nadya had never bothered to hide her magic, but she had also never bothered to show it. She doubted that most knew she even had magic, even if they knew her well. She did have it though. She just didn't use it at all, for the most part. Well, not intentionally. She ignored the aura seeing thing. That came and went after all.

Besides, it was more a magic sense than anything else. "I guess it would be a good one though. I mean, no one would look here for a real magic user." Just the trendy fake ones, she was sure. Nadya looked inside the window and wrinkled her nose. "Weird soaps though." Did she make them? That was a little too much for Nadya.

"It's a useful thing for dealing with persons unfamiliar with or not meant to know about magic." June explained patiently. They had their reasons, and it was likely that the fates hadn't explained everything. Far as they were concerned magic was just a means to an end, not something dangerous and to be careful with. "There are many types of magic, but the most prevalent right now is chaotic and wild. There are people who would be more than happy to use it as a means to their own end, at the cost of others." She continued as she pushed open the door to the shop.

A bell tinkled over head and they were greeted with the fresh, sweet, clean scents of the shop. It was a orderly and tidy place, with a massive wood counter up front with a modern computerized register and a few displays of essential oils. "Hello! Feel free to have a look around, I'll be with you in a minute!" A woman shouted from somewhere behind a beaded curtain that had an employees only sign over the top of the doorway.

"Weird? It's way to channel magic and offer healing for many that may not have had success with other means." June said to Nadya raising an eyebrow. "It's the kind of discrete magic I like to see being put to use."
