As the chaos continued to unfold across the Achen world, Priest-King Neodin Shadowslayer looked upon the anarchy and destruction with somber silence. He could feel the death and hatred radiate like a furnace from the ruined cities. Their cries of agony and terror echoed through the cosmos, the astral plain, and the Between Realm.

The brought it upon themselves.

“I know…” Neodin whispered softly. “It does not make it easier to watch.”

Your sympathy is admirable, Neodin.

“But sympathy does not feed or clothe the masses.”

That, my child, is why you are taking action. Words are hollow without action to give them flesh. Now go forth and speak to the people of Langara. Go forth, with my blessing, and minister to them, and perform wonders in My Name. Bring to them my salvation and instructions, so they may be brought out of idolatry and into my light.

“What if they deny your Word and scorn your Name in favor of their false deities?”

Then my hand will not shield them from the shadow to come.

-------

The Motokhenajhi drifted among the cosmic maelstrom of the Between Realm. Time, in its ever changing and multiplying streams, flowed and twisted around it. An array of winding tributaries stretched into infinity like the tendrils of an ever-growing vine. As the streams extended and divided at the whims of Choice and Fate, great orbs of expanding energy and matter adorned their heads. The streams crossed, melded, and split at infinite intersections along their treks into the Void.

At the core of the incomprehensive labyrinth of time-space the rivers converged into a single mass. It was from this spring of limitless expansion of mass and energy that Existence sprung forth – an explosion of arcane and cosmic power. Every tributary, dimension, and divergence of time was merely an echo.

The Motokhenajhi drifted amidst this complex system, these echoes of Creation. It glided between the streams, both severed from and anchored to their laws. As the entirety of the Multiverse swelled around the vessel, the Motokhenajhi descended into a nearby stream. Temporal energies rippled as the crystalline surface collided with the dimensional wall.

“This is KAV Motokhenajhi of the Khroniktan Alliance requesting permission to orbit the planet of Langara.” hailed the vessel as it entered the system through the cosmic rift.

There was a long period of silence from the Aschen comms, much turmoil was going on down on the planet below, people were rebelling, governments were collapsing and reforming.

After several long moments, the KAV Motokhenajhi would receive a transmission from one of the numerous Aschen Orbital Defense platforms that surrounded and protected the planet.

"Attention KAV Motokhenajhi, this is the ODP 'Caprica' Langara is currently on Lockdown due to a terrorist attack committed against our people. You have however been granted special clearance, proceed to Delphi for debriefing if you're here to deliver aid. We can use any help we can get."

A Set of coordinates was transmitted to the Kroniktan vessel, guiding it to the surface of the planet to a city just outside of Caprica City.

"Acknowledged, Caprica." replied the Khroniktan ship. "Organizing landing party now. We will be there shortly."

"Sire," a Rokin knelt before the Priest-King who watched the planet from the rippling visage of a scrying mirror. "We have our coordinates. The party awaits your arrival in the hangar."

"Thank you, marna" he nodded as he waved a hand over the mirror, causing it to return to its silver hue.

Moments later a blinding light erupted in the Delphi Town Square. It shined with a golden radiance as the fabric of time and space severed and folded. Shadows fled from the arcane energy as it spilled from the portal that materialized in the square. A rhythmic rumble resonated like a beating drum. Enormous silhouettes erected from the center of the light and marched lock step into the open. They towered above the humans while clad in thick metallic battle suits. Titanic gauntlets gripped fierce blast rifles that hummed on stand-by.

Ten Khroniktan marines emerged from the portal in a column formation. The piercing azure eyes of their helmets scanned the immediate vicinity with a vast array of sensors – both physical and astral.

“Plate is clean.” Echoed the marine captain into his comm unit. “I repeat: the plate is clean. Bring in Paladin One. Assume formation!” he barked. The marines immediately broke from the columns and formed two long parallel lines projecting from the portal.

“Lehuka nazeh makedat!” As one, the two lines pivoted inward and stood rigid with soldierly discipline.

“Ledaha!” The soldiers, in a robotic sync, braced the barrel of their blasters against their chests and cupped the butt on their gauntlets. A soldier at the end, bearing a red and yellow star on his chest, stepped into the aisle. He holstered his rifle and pivoted away from the portal. The officer’s helmet collapsed with a hiss of compressed air. Slitted yellow feline eyes stared at the scene before him, and at the crowd that had gathered to see this spectacle. His face bore a coat of fur that thickened in a long mane woven into dreadlocks. A large widened as he addressed the people in their native language.

“Presenting King Neodin Shadowslayer,” he began, “King of Arydia, High Priest of the Chosen, Head of the Grand Council, and Prophet of Leolik!” The officer pivoted to face the portal and lowered to one knee.

Two more figures emerged from the portal. They were clad in a suit of plate armor that glowed with a golden light. Crimson red cloaks flowed at their feet as they each erected a standard of a golden star on a red background. The Aryite Chosen marched lock-step until they reached the center of the aisle.

“Magtzeer!” They halted.

Another figure emerged from the portal. He was wrapped in long flowing robes that just barely covered the being’s clawed, paw-like bare feet. A long furred tail swayed along the ground. Short golden brown fur covered the being’s body large and muscled body. King Neodin Shadowslayer stood two heads above the other Aryites, and towered at twice the height of the Aschen. Like a shining waterfall, a golden brown mane surrounded a fierce yet noble feline-like face and flowed down his shoulders and back. Strands of silver and gray intertwined with the golden brown. His eyes shone like two stars that illuminated an aura of great wisdom, power, nobility, virtue, and honor. A massive broadsword, jagged and covered in glowing runes, rested in his paw-like hands. He gripped the hilt and held it like a cane with the point facing downward.

As he walked down the aisle between the columns, the Aryites lowered to their knees and bowed their heads in deep reverence to their King and High Priest. A powerful aura of tranquility flowed from him like a peaceful song among the spring breeze. He lifted his hand in a calm greeting as he smiled warmly at the crowd around him.

“Be at peace, Children of Man.” Neodin said with a voice that soothed even the farthest bystanders of the crowd. As he spoke, several hovercrafts formed from a golden crystalline substance materialized from the portal. “We have come under a banner of friendship and hospitality. We have seen your turmoil and seek to provide comfort and aid. Come! Bring us your weary, so we may feed them. Bring us your sick, maimed, and wounded, and let us heal them. Bring us your homeless, so we may clothe and minister to them. Let us break bread and fellowship, so both our futures may be brighter in the sight of Leolik.”

Several smaller creatures hobbled from the hovercrafts as they landed. They stood a few feet shorter than the humans with their backs hunched. Long beaks protruded from beneath linen hoods while talons clicked against the ground. The creatures cawed and squawked at the large arcane golems that floated about, carrying heavy crates. Within moments the skeleton of a base camp took form. Tables and soup kitchens for food lines were set up directly from the hovercrafts, and portable medical tents were erected like the hairs on a cat’s back.

Delphi, despite being a modern Aschen city was now crowded with tents and shanties from evacuees and refugees from the now bombed out Caprica City, as the Aryites emerged from their portals, the sight of blood, suffering, and death greeted them as they emerged on the sight of a large refugee camp situated in one of Delphi's many parks.

Already aware of their arrival, the Military would direct the Golems and other heavy lifters to where supplies were being designated. The Marines would be quickly delegated to guard duty while anyone with any healing knowledge would be directed to assist doctors, albeit advised that Magic was not well recieved here.

After several moments, a harried Ground Forces commander greeted the Ariyite King, inclining his head to the sentient beast before introducing himself. "Commander Hall, Delphi Home Regiment. We need to tend to these refugees and make sure everything's secure. If you can spare some forces, we have had reports of looting in Caprica City, if you take the main road you should be able to reach there quickly."

Quickly they were delegated to assist in things like food distribution, and security for the flocks of Aschen refugees from Caprica City moving into Delphi.

As the Khroniktan camp took form, the scents of sizzling, succulent, exotic meats, fresh vegetables, and sweet fruits filled the air. Soups crafted from the alien food bubbled in their portable kitchens. Hooded Rokin hobbled through the refugee camp and distributed large fur blankets, fresh baked bread, and a variety of multi-colored fruits. The Khroniktans explained to the cautious and weary Aschen refugees that the fruits were medicinal and would rejuvenate their health. Aryite clerics walked through the medical tents offering advice and healing prayers in the name of Leolik. The priests greeted the Aschen with warm, kind, and comforting smiles as they represented both their deity and their people. Even the titanic King Neodin strode amidst the tents, filling the camp with his divine, righteous, and calming aura. His presence brought a wave of internal peace like a warm fire burning within – reminding them that they were not alone in this cold, dark, and evil world. Those that chose to come before the High Priest with faith were immediately healed of all their ailments. He offered words of reassurance, wisdom, compassion, and love for those who stayed.

Meanwhile, a detachment of Khroniktan marines and Rokin marksmen emerged from the portal. The marines towered above the Aschen in their advanced power suits. They went where instructed with haste while a group formed ranks to go on patrol. The patrol was led by a battle-mage – an Aryite wizard wielding an arcanium staff and clad in magic-enhancing power armor.

A group of children moved through the crowds of people and Khroniktans towards a small plume of smoke where a relatively short Aryite stood. Being only a foot and eight inches taller than tall Aschen men, he was no where near as intimidating as the rest of the Aryites when it came to size. His simple magi robe was a brilliant and flawless blend of blues, purples, and greens and his cat like feet were covered in simple wrappings. Behind him stood a very large Golem, which just about every other Khroniktan who didn't know who we was stayed away from as if in fear. But the Golem stood still, waiting for a command. Gripped in the right paw of the relatively short Aryite was a staff made of a strange material, a equally strange crystal of Arcanium stabilized on top of it.

"Gather around little ones, gather around, and listen to the epic tale of the defeat of the terrible Dark Emperor!" he cried out in a playful tone that didn't match any of the serious looks of other Aryite faces. However, the tone attracted the children, who all sat around a campfire that glowed with blends of Dark greens and blues. "And do not worry about the big guy behind me, for I have him under control." he said, not needing to gesture to the large Golem behind him.

He cleared his throat, waving his staff over the Arcane Fire. "Now, where to begin...Ah, yes I know." he muttered as the flames grew a little before dying down. Floating puppets representing King Neodin, Sheodin, and Erebuz floated above the fire, locked in combat. "It was the last battle of a long and deadly war, the great and powerful King Neodin and the also greatly powerful Arch-Mage Sheodin fought a tough battle against the deadliest enemy the likes of which the universe had never seen before!" he said. The children were mesmerized by his words and the movements of the puppets.

He told them all he could about the battle, the epic moments, the suspenseful ones, and everything in between. "Things looked bleak for our King and Arch-Mage; the Dark Emperor was closing in for the final blow before the great and mighty king caught a second wind, and charged head first with the most fierce and ferocious battle cry he could, holding in his paws the mighty sword, the Claw of Leolik!" as he said this, a powerless replica hovered above the children's head, and they were all mesmerized, their eyes widening.

"And with that sword and battle cry he struck down the Dark Emperor! Casting him to the ground where he was sealed inside a great and magical block of ice, where he remains to this very day, locked in the underworld." the Aryite, known to many as Pakhavu Golemtamer, finished the story there, the puppets and powerless replica plunging into the arcane fire, snuffing it out in a mesmerizing plume of fire that was harmless to all before it died down to a small flame. The children all looked as if they were hypnotized before clapping and cheering, asking for another story.

Pakhavu chuckled. "I'm afraid the stories will have to wait, little ones, for it is time for me to eat." he said. To the disappointed "Awws" of the children, he chuckled. "Perhaps I will tell you another story later if it will make you happy." he said. "Now run along, and try not to get in the way of the heavy lifters!" he said playfully, shooing the children away as they went off to go and play somewhere else.

Darkness.

Void.

Emptiness.

A flash of light.

Just outside the border of the Sirius system, a flash of light erupted in the dark emptiness of nothingness and gave chase to the endless shadows of space. A swirling vortex of purple, blue, red, and gold forged a violent tempest where there was once a calm blackness. The energies churned, gathered, dissipated, and thundered as a funnel in the fabric of space and time formed like a raging sea storm.. Blue and violet lightning illuminated the cosmic maelstrom.

A blinding light erupted from the vortex. Three enormous shapes emerged from the maelstrom in single file. Their surfaces were like golden diamonds that radiated with auras of shimmering light. The hulls of the vessels were crystalline and seamless. They hovered unhindered by the cosmic wrath of the vortex like three stars. Two of the vessels were triangular while the third bore a more rectangular shape. All three of the mysterious vessels rivaled the size of the asteroids that they brushed passed with little effort as they lumbered towards the center of the star system.

A few moments passed before the convoy settled into a high orbit over the world of Gaia. They would appear as a trio of new and particular bright stars to the inhabitants below - to be interpreted as any way they wished.

"Sire, we have established a stable orbit. What are your orders?"

"Send out probes. Map out any notable areas and search for the densest clusters of civilization. I want to know the locations of all major powers on that world within the hour. Have the magi calibrate the arcanogram and prepare for official first contact."

"Aye, milord."

Dozens of small golden spheres emerged from the ships. They hovered beside the vessels, unhindered by the gravity well of the planet and the abundant cosmic energies that drifted their the void like an ocean breeze. The spheres suddenly shot down to the planet like meteors without any sign of acceleration. Tails of shimmering radiance followed in their wake as they explored the globe in a grid pattern.

The Great city of Wer'Guawysvern sat bellow and the oracles and wizards of the mighty desert city began their works in the name of their great scaly Lord of the Southern Sands. Inikhethadaternock simply offered a toothy smile as he rose from his sandy throne and donned a silk robe to cover his bare sun-kissed skin. His elvish appearance he now took moved with grace as he took a scroll from a kneeling robed servant all the while his Hidden Claw strode right beside him keeping her silence until he was ready for her words.

"You know, Aurora, there is a fine line of wonderful news that I am willing to take." Inikhethadaternock commented as he unrolled the scroll and looked over the inscribed work only to smirk. "I was wondering how that assignment went. So you outright killed the man in public?" The Dragon quested slyly. Aurora simply nodded and kept her pace with her lord as they walked.

"I called him out for his betrayals and when he tried to deny them I silenced him." Aurora quickly commented. She kept her eyes forward as the two stepped into the daylight. "My lord what are you going to do about the newcomers who sit high above? Ra'Zahr and that wizard said that they would arrive but we have no idea as to what kind of force they have. Their technology from what I am informed is magical in nature but..." Aurora began to trail off the subject as her gaze fell upon Symir who only offered his own smile as he strode past the two.

"Aurora." The sand dragon chirped a bit as he continued to smile. "Go after that loving brother of yours and let him know that lunch will be served shortly. I expect him to be present during the festivities and for the arrival of our guests if they decide to come down from that lofty spot of theirs."

The Hidden Claw simply nodded and turned about to go after her brother. The King of Wer'Guawysvern simply continued on his way and began to look over his territory just to then bring his gaze up too the sky above. His keen vision brought a smile to his face as arcane energies began to flow heavily around him.

"Bring on the feast then."

Silence was all the Qenna would give towards the two, following quietly behind the King of the Sands. Qenna sighed inwardly as she strode along behind and listened to the words spoken between her sister and father 'Fools...the lot of them' She thought to herself as she leaned slightly on her walking stick, the Staff hummed with a power all it's own, her fingers brushing up and down the golden lines and runic markings while her gaze shifted to look at it 'I take it you already know a good deal about that thing in the sky dont you?' She asked, the tiefling would say while running her fingers through her hair to brush it from her face.

'Always...' The Staff replied as it said further 'It is a very curious design, however, I would need to interface directly with one of their minds to learn anything further. All I can infer is that their magic is almost superior to your own' Qenna nodded and would sway her tail back and forth gently as her gaze lifted up at the thought of a feast 'Great...another feast with the boring dignataries...wonderful of days' She said with a roll of her eyes and allowed her presence be known by a sharp rapping of her staff on the ground "My Lord...do you desire my contact with regard to those whom rest above our heads?" She asked him

Her face was practiced and even in tone, cold, steely eyes watching her Father while her grip on her staff tightened gently though she did bow her head "If necessary, I could arrange quarters for them and their number to stay within the city walls" Qenna offered.

The king of the sands simply turned to look at his wonderful court wizard only to frown slightly as there was still plenty to do.

"You know Qenna it is almost unbearable when you ask such simple questions." The sun kissed elf offered her a mock bow. His blue eyes seemed to glow as they held their gaze upon his half bread child. "I actually wish you to be present for when the new arrivals show themselves. After all Ra'Zahr and that large hatted wizard did promise me that those guests of ours would be most famished and tired."

Inikhethadaternock began to straighten himself up and popped his neck only to look over the vast ocean before them and the desert at their backs. "Have the people who work within my halls prepare a great meal and the dining hall. Make sure there is extra sand upon the floor and the cooling lamps in place, the blue flames. Once this is all done and over with I will require my maps and documents from our personal library to see what can be done with our new found friends to make them comfortable."

Qenna sighed gently while tapping the ground with her staff "Very well my lord but may I make one point known. How am I to know your will when you do not share it with me? I may be your advisor and a high tier Chrono-mancer but there are literally an endless amount of outcomes your will could be based on the current situation. Time is fickle like that" She said and would turn to head out for the servant's quarters to begin the preparations "Time...what is the nature of it?" She said to herself then snapped her fingers and disappeared as time itself froze all around her. even the Great Sand King would find himself immobile to her while she headed onward

'My Lady, you sound angry...' The staff hummed as the Tiefling nodded a little "I am Heim but now is not the time to be venting frustrations and troubles. Now, there is work to be done and perhaps once the evening has come, I may shed a tear or two in the oasis" Qenna would arrive at the quarters and snapped her fingers again loudly as time resumed and she began to organize the servants for the feast's preparations.

"Sire, we have located an adequate civilization and have synchronized the arcanogram. Shall we establish contact?"

"Aye, initiate the broadcast."

Several minutes after the conversation between the King of the Sands and his underlings, when the King was alone with his thoughts, a hum of magical energy stirred the air. The flames of the nearby fire flickered and churned with the hum. A blast of wind erupted through the room as the flames ascended several feet in the air. Cosmic energy flowed through the flames, warping and shifting them into a radiant golden yellow. An aura of soothing and calming tranquility and peace flowed from the fire place along with a soft tune that melted away anxiety and tension. The radiance flowed from the hearth and melded into a tall humanoid form.

The figure grew in size until it nearly doubled the height of the king's elven form. A golden brown mane surrounded his fierce and noble feline face and flowed down his shoulders and back like a shining waterfall. Long flowing robes covered the being's large and muscled body. His eyes shone like two stars that were illuminated with an aura of great wisdom, power, nobility, virtue, and honor. A massive jagged broadsword covered in glowing runes rested in his paw-like hands. He gripped the hilt and held it downward like a cane. The image of golden light and warm flame shimmered as he raised a clenched fist to his chest in a salute.

"Greetings, friend," the being said in a rich, strong, yet tender voice. "I am Neodin Shadowslayer, son of Lo'din the Fearless, King of Arydia, Head Councilman of the Khroniktan Alliance, High Priest of the Chosen, and Prophet of Leolik. On behalf of all the free peoples of Khroniktus, I extend a banner of peace and friendship towards you and your race. Please respond if you can understand me."

The King of the Sands simply offered a bow and a warm smile before he opened his mouth.

"A fine greeting indeed, Neodin Shadowslayer, son of Lo'din the Fearless, King of Arydia, Head Councilman of the Khroniktan Alliance, High Priest of the Chosen, and Prophet of Leolik. I also wish to extend a warm hand and embrace a wayward people to the lands of Gaia."

The sun-kissed elf offered his warmest greetings while straightening himself up. Inikhethadaternock could only smile as the opportunity that presented itself was to rare to pass up. With these new people they would need to know what this land could provide and its dangers as well. Asides from that the sand dragon began to ponder something more as he looked at the massive figure that stood before him.

"I am blessed by the luck of the Prophets it seems for I was foretold of your arrival actually. I wonder if you would be willing to accept my invitation to a feast in your honor Neodin Shadowslayer. You and your people have traveled far and I am sure that the splendors I have to offer would be a welcome comfort to such a powerful king."

Meanwhile in the lower city Ra'Zahr and Bigsby ate their own meals discussing the local politics of the massive sand dragon while Symir and Aurora went about on their own tasks. The massive city seemed to glow as the suns falsely set behind the clouds within the sky as the last light gleamed off the city and its crushed minerals that lined the crevices between each golden brick. Within the dragons main hall a massive feast was being set and prepared by the finest cooks and the air within smelled greatly of spices and fine drink. Many of the people within began to celebrate as the priests of the city began to spread word of the possible arrival of new guests and honored friends.

A shudder rippled through space-time as a half-dozen Khroniktan vessels emerged from a singularity. Their crystalline hulls glinted like miniature stars. Cosmic energy churned beneath the surface and roiled like liquid. They shifted away from the collapsed portal, shrugged off the prismatic essence of the Between Realm, and formed a loose spherical formation.

"This is the Motokhenajhi standing by. Dimensional shift successful. Report. Over."

"All vessels accounted for, Motokhenajhi. Ready for post-jump checks. Over."

"Running diagnostics... Acquiring coordinates. Affirmative, this is the correct system. Sensors indicate approximately five billion B.F.C. Well within margin of error. Initiate approach. Over and out."

The six vessels slid forward through space. They moved like specters - as if the fabric of reality fell off of them like water. There was no visible propulsion, no acceleration, no momentum. One moment they sat near motionless on the outskirts of the star system, and the next they simply vanished - only to appear a short distance away from one of the inner planets.

It was a stillborn world - cold, lifeless, and silent as the void. The six vessels settled in a rectangular bipyramid formation around the planet.

Archmage Thundermane stood on the bridge aboard one of the vessels. Arcane power coursed through his body and made his eyes shine like twin full moons. His arms were folded across his chest while his warhammer, Stormquake, hung from a strap on his back. The weapon's shaft was formed from a single rod of an unknown alloy. It was covered in sigils from the pommel to the base of the head, which was made of a large rectangular glassy gem. Roiling black clouds and streaks of lightning churned beneath the surface.

Thundermane furrowed his brow as he watched the planet through the viewing screen. He had already vetted this world some time ago. It was completely and utterly dead. The planet had no atmosphere, water, or seismic activity. It was virtually worthless outside of a possible mining operation. Through his magical sight, the Archmage peered into the planet's most likely future in which the Khroniktans would not have interfered. It was dead and abandoned, forever, until it was swallowed up by an indifferent and aging star.

It was perfect.

"All vessels," he called out on the fleet-wide channel, "prepare for Operation: Eden."

"Aye, Chancellor."

As the ships pushed into the reality the sheer density of energy present alerted beings that threading transport channels across reality. The overbeing hadn't a good anchor yet to the web of infinitesimally small conduits and the threads blew across the arcane space disturbed by exertions of such power. Their distant power pushed across the threads though they attempted to avoid this new strange stressor on the Way network. Myrkul's immense metaphysical being toiled distantly along the threads as it anchored the Way network to new stellar objects. It left a hole in the Way around the world so nothing would be damaged by whatever the creatures would do. Myrkul didn't care about nonhumans overmuch and ignored the ships but an organization of such creatures of strength always proved troublesome. Wind roiling off of the ships indicated something energetic was about to go on.

"Initiate phase one." Thundermane commanded.

"Aye, my lord." replied an officer. "Initiating phase one. All vessels, bring your energy cores to full capacity."

The Khroniktan ships started to glow like miniature stars. A cosmic power radiated from each of them as their Alphanite energy cores channeled untold amounts of power. Complex enchantments that overlayed each crystal allowed the structures to reach across space and time and syphon the energy that lay dormant in the bottom-most layers of the universe. Each crystal burned with the might of newborn stars as they reached deep into the bowels of Creation and borrowed a sliver of the lifeforce of the universe.

Thundermane smiled as the officers reported the power readings. He remembered when the other-worldly crystalline substance known as Alphanite was discovered. It was not long before the industrious Aryites discovered the numerous practical uses for the material - including how to cultivate it in new forms. One of the most intriguing applications discovered so far was the ability to channel energy from other dimensional planes.

"Cheap, clean, and limitless energy," Thundermane scoffed to himself, "The other races wages wars over it, and its secret falls right out of the sky and into our laps. It's almost as if..."

Thundermane trailed off as an eldritch presence brushed against his awareness. He closed his eyes and cast his perception across the great Weave. His spirit touched against the threads, felt the tremors of the universe, and followed them back to the presence that drew his attention.

The eldritch being Myrkul's Vein busied itself with nailing another thread of the Way to a blasted planetoid in that system. Too small to hold any decent gravity Myrkul hovered in near-astral space over the surface a single thread pushed near to a rocky surface. A projected beam of Mykrul's will reached across the gap from the astral tether into real space while it carefully designed the node that would restrain the astral side of the link. A mixture of arcane runes and psionic modus it much resembled spells that appended to demiplanes.

It replied while the propagated dimensional tear advanced and a circle of cognizance crystal deposited upon the planetoid surface, "We are friendly, unknownkind. We do not feel that you are aetherkind. Your activity disturbs the Way. I must prepare more tethers."

Among the growing brightness of stars one more appeared on the surface of the distant planetoid. The grey chondrite surface of the surface was now silvery faceted white for nearly ten meters. The deposited raw cognizance crystal sublimated away under the harsh sun draining back into the aether. A close inspection would reveal a new slowly churning transparent flame etching patterns into dust. A closed door into the Way for creatures born of the mind.

The weave was likely to surge as the aetheric leviathan moved beneath it toward another nearby thread and push it farther away.

"Capacitors are fully charged. Activating the transmutation array."

The crystalline surface of the ships' bows rippled as beams of eldritch energy screamed out like bolts of cosmic lightning. They slammed into the planet and bored through the crust like six super heated drills several hundred meters across. Enormous shards of stone were scattered across the landscape from the tremors that shook the earth. Several moments passed before before the beams intersected in the planet's core. Deep beneath the crust, the dead stone glowed red and white hot as sub-atomic particles materialized from the raging storm and bound together.

"Zeta particle generation successful..." a Rokin tapped away at a console. "... Alpha and beta particles emerging... Transmutation process underway! Activate the aurora field!"

While the beams of energy continued to drill into the planet's shifting core, several spires emerged from the ships' hulls. Massive arcs of lightning crackled across them before bouncing to another ship. The electricity leaped from vessel to vessel until it surrounded the planet like a net. Prismatic waves of light danced across the net.

"Electromagnetic field stabilized... The planet's core has now liquefied. Monitoring magnetization process."

Meanwhile, even as Thundermane kept one ear on the progress of the experiment, the Archmage maintained focus on the eldritch entity on the edge of his senses.

Apologies, Ancient One. We do not mean to disturb your work. Our Home is dying, so we have chosen to breath life into this world and make it our own.

Myrkul replied as it pushed a threat away from the din of energy use, "The Black Storm suffers nothing to live. Yet life persists in our home regardless. As so do you. As children of the Black Storm our experience with creating such balanced life is poor."

There was another small star as Myrkul fixed another strand to another small asteroid and it continued, "We would like to observe your work."

Its immediate goal completed enough to survive the dispensation of energy engaged by the unknownkind Myrkul turned again to approach the circle of ships around that barren world. It kept a far, respectful, distance even though it could not see well from so far as a projection. Even without its physical presence activities dealing with the imposition of magical order would easily find the environment in proximity to myrkul inordinately favorable. It tended the fabric of reality to support its own aetheric weight and did so quite well and widely.

#, as written by Rulke
While the Khroniktans were busy setting up planets to be terraformed, their scanners would pick up a very strange tachyon anomaly not far from their ships, the emissions coming from the anomaly seemed harmless, yet any scan would prove fruitless. Whatever the case the anomaly would ripple and expand before a great vessel would materialise. The design seemed to appear anything resembling known races. In fact, the design seemed utterly ancient compared to modern vessels. It seemed to pose no discernible threat, despite being a rather dangerous looking warship. It just hovered in the vacuum of space. Any attempts to communicate with the ship via every channel would present only dead air.

Nothing, just emptiness, yet it was obviously operational.

In fact, the thrusters and none of the ship appeared damaged, no scorch marks or even sign of attack. Just, the feeling that it was old, very old.

Should it be even be investigated?

That was up to the ships in the area.
