Kai Paendrag's Story
Kai Paendrag grinned, "It certainly seems to attract a lot of attention. Not a lot o' blue people around these parts, I've found. Not like back home. Walking through a busy street was like walking through a rainbow!" he commented.
"Well, I suppose we could sit here exchanging compliments all day - which would be great, don't get me wrong, ego boosts are always nice; and did I mention I like your hair, too? - but I'm curious; what, err.. species, are you? Or is there another reason you have the unique eyes?"

Kai Paendrag smirked at Ghell's blush, suppressing a chuckle. It wouldn't do to make the poor guy feel self-conscious. "A Dygon? I'm afraid I haven't heard of you before, myself. Which is probably a good thing! I've ceased to be surprised or interested by all the dragons, and elves, and demons..." Kai trailed off, leaving it obvious that the list went on. And on...
"And that's certainly a practical attribute... I think they're better at being pretty though." he noted, failing to suppress his chuckle this time, instead putting a hand up to cover his mouth politely.

Kai Paendrag smiled, "Not too far away, I'm from this planet. My people actually live underground, for the main part - in what we call 'Holds'. We're each born like in a hive, perfectly adapted for a particular role or task that we can perform for the Hold. We call them 'aspects'; so there are Worker-aspects, who are buff, meaty and have a penchant for wolf whistling, Engineer-aspects, who are little and spindly and precise... loads of 'em."
Kai Paendrag laughed again, shaking his head, "No no, it's not rude at all. I'm Air-aspect - which probably sounds confusing, seeing as it doesn't sound particularly specialised. There are the four 'core' aspects as well as the more specific ones, we name them after the elements. It tends to define personality more than physical and mental points, apart from a few key features."
At this, Kai gestured to his back, and the insect-like wings upon them. "These being one of them. Air-aspects can fly, Water-aspects have fins and can breathe underwater, Fire-aspects are like walking heat-proof suits, and Earth-aspects have tougher skin than a rhino."

Kai Paendrag blinked, raising an eyebrow at Ghell's interest and enthusiasm. "Scan me? How do you mean?" he asked, aware that the term could have different meanings depending on the context. Sometimes it just involved the eyes, sometimes it involved little beepy things, and sometimes it involved big shuddering machines.
Kai Paendrag chuckled, "Yeah, it makes very little sense in physics. But we think it's something to do with magic, rather than science. Like, not overtly magic, with fireballs and all that. We don't do that, but more inherent like. That made no sense, but hey..."
Shaking his head, Kai shrugged. "Go for it, as long as it doesn't do anything nasty, feel free!"

Kai Paendrag raised an eyebrow, "Glad to be a major scientific discovery." he commented, "Makes me feel important!" Kai laughed, flexing his fingers idly. "And you seem trustworthy enough to not hit me in the face, I should hope."
Kai Paendrag nodded, grinning at Ghell's flush. "Definitely, I left my Hold because I wanted to find new things and such, it's a trait of my aspect that we're curious and adventurous individuals. I don't go into the level of detail that you do, with all the sciency stuff, but I love meeting new people and finding new places!"
Kai poked Ghell. "Like you! It's refreshing to meet someone friendly, for once. Everyone seems so involved and afraid to talk to strangers up here..."

Kai Paendrag laughed, "You're like a bubbling fountain of over excitement, aren't you?" he commented, "You're even more enthusiastic about the things you're interested in than I am!"
Kai shook his head, ruffling Ghell's hair. "Don't strain yourself, Ghell-with-an-H."

Kai Paendrag blinked at the floating pink orb, watching it like a cat might watch a flashlight. At the explosion of person where it landed, Kai blinked once again. "Not something you see every day, eh? Even here..."
Looking back at Ghell, Kai laughed out loud at his state of redness. "You look like you've swallowed one too many a beetroot, Ghell-with-an-H. Something up?"

Kai Paendrag tilted his head, confused. "You not like being touched, Ghell-with-an-H? Totally sorry if that's it. I'm kind of a pokey-huggy-person." he admitted.

Kai coughed, shaking his head. "Right, social faux-pas aside..." he cut off momentarily. "Pharo?"

Kai Paendrag smiled to Pharo as the other made himself apparent as the one addressed. "Hey there! Nice to meet you. I'm Kai, as Ghell said." Kai extended a hand to shake, still smiling.
Kai Paendrag raised an eyebrow, retracting the hand. "I see. Well, first impressions can always be wrong, I guess." he noted, folding his arms and leaning back.

Kai Paendrag raised an eyebrow, "Transporter? I take it that's like a teleporter thingy. I can see how that might be inconvenient... like when you read a map wrong, but you can't just turn around and take the turning you missed. Given that you've like, teleported..."
