Basics
Full Name: Kaitlynn Lessard
Age: Twenty-two
Birthplace: N/A
Current Location: Wing City
Titles, Born or Earned: N/A
Race: Human
Species: Vampire
Occupation: Medium for hire
Associations: Lessard Family

Social
Parents: Vincent Lessard; deceased. Eleanor Way; deceased.
Siblings: Sanina Lessard; deceased.

Appearance:
• 5’6’, deceptively slim and weak-looking
• Yellowy-blonde long straight hair

Kaitlynn wears contacts on account of her short-sightedness and wears a style that are cream col-oured with flecks of gold in them. Her eyes are almost unnaturally large, focusing like an owl’s might upon its prey when something grabs her attention solidly. Otherwise, her features are quite soft and relatively unremarkable.

No matter what personality is on the surface, the slightly less dead Lessard sister tends towards the same forms of dress sense, Andrea doing so to keep up the ruse that she is her oblivious counter-part. At all times, she wears a long navy and rather worn crushed velvet coat and her low heeled navy blue ankle boots. Accessories and other clothes usually revolve around these two specific items but Kaitlynn is not a terribly fashionable person and therefore, there are occasions where she wears some quite odd arrangements.

As far as jewellery goes, neither personality deigns to wear much except for a thin circle of silver hung on a thick silver chain quite tight around her neck, almost like a choker. Hanging down in the middle of this delicate circular object is a dewdrop gemstone coloured pale blue. Its significance is not immediately obvious.

Extraordinary Skills, Abilities, Flaws:
• Natural talent for biology, particularly entomology
• Capable of communicate and exorcising spirits
• Suffers from a phobia of blood, which results in bouts of shaking and sickness in minor cases – blackouts in extreme cases
• Is possessed by a malicious spirit who feeds on negative emotion

The resulting effects of her Turning were dizzying; the majority of Kaitlynn's vampirism was absorbed by the spirit, as well as the memory of the night. Instead of lying dormant, it was seized upon by her unwanted spiritual passenger who used it to attach herself permanently to the medium, adopting all the traits of vampirism and the darkness of the spirit itself to create a second sustained personality; Andrea. As a result Kaitlynn is blissfully unaware of her status as a newly turned vampire, she is also worryingly unaware that there is a spirit is using her to survive.

Her powers as a medium manifested at a young age. In the beginning she had nurtured them with her mother’s encouragement alongside her mother. Spirits are generally distinguished from the living by a light beaming out of their chests. Kaitlynn has learnt how to suppress and dismiss more powerful and troublesome spirits through the use of simple incantations and crystals that boost her natural abilities. It used to be more of a hobby, taking on and ridding innocents of small, troublesome spirits or helping troubled spirits on their way via séances but now since being fired from her last job, she's now using it to pay the bills.

It is worth noting that Andrea, being a malevolent spirit and therefore not actually part of Kaitlynn, cannot use these abilities.

Equipment:
• A collection of crystals used to channel and protect whilst performing séances or when particularly powerful spirits decide to be unexpectedly difficult.
• Her mobile phone
• Keys to her apartment
• A small number of business cards advertising her services as a medium.
• A rather large, but pretty amber encased dragonfly imitation that masquerades as an or-nament for her keys.

Kaitlynn Lessard strode into the bar, seemingly purposefully before glancing around with slightly larger than average cream coloured eyes, scowling at her apparent failure. Blasted sister - she had never been able to keep track of her sister before university. The time away seemed to have made the task only more impossible.

So, here she was in a strange bar and isolated from family. Now she realised that being smart didn't necessarily mean she had much common sense... or any really, when one thought about it.

Kaitlynn Lessard was oblivious to the vampiric intuitions that made her eyes set on Uriel so focusedly as he stood, swallowing hard as her senses indentified him as a far superior being, resolutely turning away from him after a long moment of staring to resume pondering. Really, she tracked her father and sister to this very place only a day ago but her stupid and inpromptu aversion to sunlight prevented her journey's end for quick completion.

Kaitlynn Lessard approached the bar slowly with precise and measured steps. She really shouldn't tarry here long; the scientists back at the lab would note her absence soon, surely. Why couldn't her family be... normal and you know, not vampires? That would make her life so much simpler. She had enough trouble trying to deal with being a medium at times, though thankfully their intrusions had died down a while ago.

She couldn't for the life of her think why though, seating herself at the bar, calling out for a bartender with a frown. No alcohol; juice it would have to be then. "One orange juice please," she said briskly, an arm reached down to draw out her purse.

Kaitlynn Lessard noted Uriel's presence behind her for barely a moment, stiffening for no apparent reason as he addressed both the bartender and her in turn. She took a deep breath before tilting her gaze up to set eyes on the stranger, judging for a long moment before nodding politely. "That's very kind of you. I accept," she said with a smile, making no comment or appreciation of his comment on her beauty known.

His eyes she noted with a frown, sighing almost in frustration. Did she smell of vampire or something? That was the last time she spent more a few hours around her father and sister ever again!

Kaitlynn Lessard ignored the tender's taking of the note completely, nodding at the stranger's request. "Of course," she shifted a little to the left, to give him room to lower down onto the spare seat beside her.

Her cream coloured eyes flickered with disinterest at the vampire. They were all the same - necromantic loving creepy bastards.

Kaitlynn Lessard nodded to the bartender in gratitude as they brought both her tall glass of orange juice and [b]Uriel's[/b[ change, passing it to him, looking at the vampire most curiously at his words. Gift? He could detect her birth curse? How intriguing she mused, her fingers wrapping around the cool glass as she contemplated an answer.

"One hundred and fifty years? I'm afraid I simply don't have that long. One hundred years at best surely, being a human no matter how gifted," she said with a cool smile, judging him critically for a moment. "Your kind live much longer than mine."

Kaitlynn Lessard scoffed, waving a hand dismissively at him, trying hard not to grin. "Me, a vampire? Gracious no! I think I just spent too much time around my father and sister - who are vampires - so I must smell like one. Obviously," she commented with surety, not seeming at all bothered by his closeness. Personal space wasn't something she was ever really taught after her mother died.

Then she took a long drink of her orange juice, sighing delightfully at the fresh taste as the glass clicked against the counter once more.

Kaitlynn Lessard seemed pleased at that retraction of his accusation. Really, her a vampire? She couldn't even stand the sight of the blood that those creatures required to sustain themselves! There was a reason she kept away from her father and sister's damned experiments so fervently upon returning home. Black-outs were not fun. At all.

His questions made her shrug impassively. "I came here looking for my sister on my lunch break, but she's not around. Still, I figure, why waste a long trip by just going straight home again?" she mused aloud and mostly to him, smiling at his odd wording. Quite gentlemanly.

Kaitlynn Lessard raised an eyebrow at his seeming finding of self, tapping the top of her glass with an idle finger. "Mister Thorn, you may indeed. I am Kaitlynn Lessard," she returned, wondering after his odd questioning and then seemingly spot-on manners. Something wasn't right.

"Why did you think I was a vampire?" she questioned half-heartedly, meeting his red eyes with her cream coloured ones.

Kaitlynn Lessard did not return that sentiment just yet. She wasn't all that enthused to meet another vampire, wincing as Milo's words rang throughout the bar. By all that was Holy, were they multiplying?!

Instead of dwelling on that particular depressing thought, she looked back at Uriel with a discontented sigh. "Yes well, until I find a place of my own, that misconception will happen frequently, accursed family of mine."

Kaitlynn Lessard seemed to inflate a little at that, nodding her understanding briskly. "You are certainly forgiven, though I can't say I'm that enthused by that particular fellow's broad announcement of their vampirism. You're all over the blasted place around here, it seems," she complained with a rather hurt tone to her voice, before quelling her words with another drink of orange juice.

All she really wanted was to escape the suffocating and disturbing truths of her father and sister's activities and race. No such luck, it seemed, even way out here in Wing City.

Kaitlynn Lessard grinned at that, amused by his utter bewilderment. "It is a trifling disturbing, especially when vampires are technically supposed to be quite feared in normal society," she pointed out, her grin growing a little wider. "Then again, they are people with fricking wings and even... strange humanoids about these parts. I suppose vampires blend in quite well until one of them starts causing a real fuss."

Kaitlynn Lessard chuckled at that, thinking upon her father and sister and how they never suffered any problems... going about their business. "Well, it seems you'll certainly get that around here, Uriel," she unhelpfully informed him before finishing off the last of her orange juice, sighing. That meant she had to leave, shrugging at his question as she stood.

"I've no idea. This is my first visit to Wing City, though I believe it works as a... gateway from all realms... of sorts. Some such nonsense! Anyway, I thank you for your company and the drink but I must be off back to work before people notice I'm gone for too long. After all, those insects won't study themselves!"

Her farewell was punctuated by a wave as she turned to head towards the bar's exit.

Kaitlynn Lessard had been awfully glad that she had decided to rest last night in Gambit's itself on one of the upper floors. There had been an accident at work and the phone call to tell her thus had woken her up at five am.

Had she been at home, she'd have been restless and more importantly... bored. Here, she could socialise and enjoy a few hours of conversation before settling down again.

She made her way to the bar quickly, scanning the room with her cream coloured eyes and sighing. Still no father or sister.

Kaitlynn Lessard People changing form and floating paper... Such a strange place. Why couldn't they have just, you know, stayed home rather than creating all this uneccessary hassle; it wasn't like there weren't people to learn and feed from back home.

Feed from... Kaitlynn shuddered instinctively. Vampire. Nasty creatures.

Kaitlynn Lessard Speaking of vampires... The young woman resisted the urge to shudder as she remembered what lay inside her sister's cloak. Nevertheless, no matter how morbid her family seemed to be, it was an intense relief to find one of them here at last.

Sighing deeply, she rose and made her way over to Sanina's side, keeping her eyes determinedly on her sister's face. "Sanina, I've been here for days trying to find you or father!" she said a little caustically, motioning to the seat beside her sister.

"I'm... glad you're well." Or at least as well as you ever can be, she thought drily.

Kaitlynn Lessard slid smoothly into the free seat, cringing at the 'us'. Jezebell was a skeleton... a very dead baby. Humouring her sister's delusions seemed to be her father's forte and although the entomologist wanted nothing more than to assist their madness, she was worried she might do more harm than good to try and assert the child as dead. Besides, Sanina was happy - who was she to complain?

Father had been... busy? Well, that hardly boded well, catching her sister's glance around the room with a discontented sigh herself. "Yes well, I'm sure Jezebell will recover. She always does after all," she said calmly, lacing her fingers together underneath the table. "I miss home too... I still think coming here was a dreadful mistake."

Kaitlynn Lessard tried not to look frustrated at that flippant comment. Yes, their obsessive and insane father clearly always knew the right paths to take in life... or undeath as it were. "I've spent most of my time at work really," she replied to her sister's query, noting yet another glance across the room and cocking an eyebrow. "Sister? What are you thinking?"

She disliked being around her family when they got weird like this.

Only halfway through the day and the young woman was knackered beyond belief. All she really wanted to do was to wander into this obscure little bar and check to see if her sister or father were currently in attendance. If not, she was still going to call up work, say she was sick and take a stiff drink before collapsing upstairs in a room.

It had just been one of those days, really.

Kaitlynn Lessard wandered towards the bar counter with a despondent sigh. No success - as per usual, though she could hardly say she was surprised. Perhaps another time... Unlikely, but she had always believed in optimism.

There... seemed to be a rather heated conversation on near the bar counter and instead of risking involvement, the entomologist sat a few seats away, beckoning over any bartender who was free. Except the one that was talking.

"One strawberry shortcake please," she asked to whomever approached her. A cool, tasty cocktail.
