Kander Hotigan

A manipulative and cunning criminal mastermind, and head of the rich and influential Hotigan Enterprises.

0 · 846 views · located in Cursed Wood

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Gundo

Description

Physical Description
He is a very slender man, this Kander character. This thin frame makes him look taller than his actual height, which is right around 6'1. He has natural red/ orange hair (depending on who you ask), and sharp eyes that can make someone think twice about going near the man. His jaw is terribly disfigured after an incident, and he needs an intimidating mask to keep his jaw intact. The mechanical jaw mask also helps him speak, which gives off a very metallic, ugly impression.

He wears a maroon suit, with a dapper red bow tie, and a white dress shirt. He always wears a double reinforced vest underneath that to stop bullet fire from puncturing any major organs.

Image

Personality
Kander is a very troubled soul, what most people would call psychotic fits Kander quite well. He doesn't care... about anything. Anyone could be brutally murdered right in front of him and he wouldn't give a second glance. He has no emotions, so he doesn't care much for others dying, nor killing others. In a bar, Kander would be the one to not engage in the fight until someone threw a punch at him. If this were to happen, Kander would snap the man's arm, and then proceed to tear it off and beat him to death with it. Kander can be ruthless and relentless when it comes to fighting, strategically thinking of the most cruel way to kill his opponent, whether it is lopping off the person's head or tearing off limbs, Kander will do whatever he feels like doing in order to win a fight.
Equipment and Abilities

Kander has a "Toy box" as he likes to call it, with all of his goodies in it. This is just a few of them.

KHMDRPG-720: A compact able rocket launcher, which acts as a pocket watch, which Kander sports well when in public, and has a second button on the top which transforms it into a huge rocket launcher, set with 1 homing missile, 1 regular missile, and 2 "surprise missiles". The first surprise missile explodes in the air, sending shrapnel and debris flying everywhere (This puts Kander himself endanger to), and the 2nd surprise missile is an acid missile, which explodes, throwing acid into the air, suffocating the target, and burning their insides as they inhale.
Image

KEP- 50: A very small pistol, easy to carry under his maroon jacket, and it is even easier to pull out and fire. It shoots armor piercing rounds, so armored guards will still have a tough time facing him.

KIAR- 22: A suppressed rifle, with long range for assassinations. It is completely silenced, so no one can detect his location based off the sound. It fires heat sensitive bullets, so when the bullet enters the body of the target, it dissolves, so the bullet cannot be traced back to the original firing position. This is Kander's favorite toy in his carrying arsenal.

Vehicles
As a rich planetary marketer, he is one of the richest humans to ever exist, and has access to all sorts of... fun things.

H.O. L. A. O: A specialized helicopter, decked in all black with dual turrets, dual missile launchers, three rooms, one for sleeping quarters, one for a mini mess hall, and the cockpit, with all the controls.

K. W. H. C: Kander water hovercraft. That is what it is. A large tank built for hovering over water, and being temporarily submerged in it, with a large power turret on the hood, with glowing blue lights.

Kander's personalized space carrier: A small ship, decked in white and black, with hidden turrets, missiles, and pulsars, but looks like a regular diplomatic ship for senators to pass inspections.

Historical Background

Kander was a very rich, and spoiled youth, and in-turn, he was an arrogant prick. He was disliked by all the other students in school. One day the students decided to pull a prank on him, and douse him with the blood of a dead animal. When they were on the playground, they poured the blood on him. This didn't really bother him at all. It was the annoying faces of all his classmates that bothered him. With the blood still soaking into his nice black suit his mother bought him, he proceeded to kill every single one of his classmates with a rusty metal rod that he had found by the side of the swings. When the teachers decided to take him, he fought them, killing two of the four. He was then restricted to his family's large estate, but could not travel any further than that. Then, when he grew to 16, one of his father's business partners (Kander's father runs a star system wide business for military arms) came to their estate. Kander's father answered. The business partner responded by shooting Kander's father in the head, killing him instantly. The business man turned on Kander, shooting him twice, the first shot hitting his shoulder, the second shot, the much nastier one, tore through his jaw and chin, causing permanent damage, and leaving him unable to speak. His mother, crushed by the death of Kander's father, didn't have the time to send Kander to the hospital. Kander got fed up with that, so he ended up escaping the estate, and saw a doctor in a nearby town, who managed to create a metal replacement jaw that would make Kander infamous.

Kander returned to the estate and decided that he was going to take over "Hotigan Enterprises" and run it with an iron fist. And he did so... By ordering the deaths of every single business partner in the star system that wasn't physically in Hotigan Enterprises. His mother tried to kill the monster that she conceived, but he had awoken, and smashed her head off a table until she didn't get back up. Now Kander was free to do as he pleased, and he did so. He created a smuggling empire. And he still goes on these missions, going to seek out new business partners to expand his monopoly, and if they do not comply, then he kills them. If they do comply, then he holds them as respectable members of his enterprise. He is now known as Lockjaw, Cancer (A play on his name which sounds similair), monster, that evil boy, creep etc.

So begins...

Kander figured while on his business trip, well, he would visit this nice little district. He had heard of OmniCorp, but had never personally seen the building, and in his opinion, he didn't think it was all that. He actually had the strange urge to bomb it. Knock out some more competition. Maybe. He began to stroll towards the building. It was hard not to draw attention to himself, his metal jaw was an obvious identity confirmation. People began to move in the opposite direction of him. They probably didn't know who he was, but wanted to make sure he wasn't there to cause harm. The perimeter was guarded by security, as it should. He didn't want to get his suit bloody on the first door, but oh well. There was a bench in front of a cement garden holder. He decided to dive behind that. He took out his suppressed rifle and aimed at the first guard. He began to itch his neck. Kander waited for him to pull his hand away before shooting him in the throat, throwing blood onto the nice glass windows behind him.

The other guard was a bit smarter. He went into a somersault and popped up, firing in the direction of Kander. Kander laughed, stopping the guard with a shot to the head, right in between his eye brows. He dropped onto the body of the other guard. Kander ran up to the blood glass door, took the ID card of one of the fallen security guards, and swiped it into the card slot, making the doors slide open. He strolled in, concealing his weapon for now. A nice looking girl was at the reception table looked frightened, "Sir- You can't-!" Kander pulled out his KEP (Kander Enhanced pistol) and shot her in the chest, arm, and then head. He ran at the table, vaulting it, and getting to the other side. He began to type away on the computer. It was hard to see the map due to all the blood on the screen, but Kander got the basic idea. He needed to plant the bombs in the Secure facility, which wouldn't be as easy as it was breaking into the building in the first place.

Kander liked this spaceport more than the other planet's ports. The staff here obviously cared for security. Kander hoped he wouldn't have to kill anyone on his way to the business district, but if that was the case, then there really wasn't anything stopping him from popping a bullet into the security personnel. He got off his ship, which by the way was a small ship, maybe half the size of a normal one, and had the appearance of a democratic vessel, but underneath the disguise was a load of turrets, heat seeking missiles, etc. It was a nice little trick that he hadn't employed yet, but felt that he would probably need to blast his way out of this city once he was finished with his business trip.

Two men in suits, with black glasses began to walk towards him, guns drawn. "Hello officers." He said politely. They nodded, and waved for him to follow. He did. They brought him to a security post with four other officers. There were two metal beams with lights that weren't turned on yet. They motioned for him to enter. He walked through. The sensors went off. "Sir what-!" Kander tapped his metal jaw. "Happens wherever I go, and my pocket watch." He pulled out his pocket watch. "Alright sir, have a nice visit in Wing City." Said one of the officers. He had red hair. That was slightly annoying. Kander checked the time. He had ten hours before the meeting in the business district. He would take a look around, get a sense for the security before he starts killing people. He was itching to know who the mystery man was. He had been threatened the other day while at a Hotigan Enterprise base. He remembered checking his data logs when the message appeared,

I know who you are Hotigan. I know where you sleep, how you eat, what you do. I can see you right now. Your power is false, your genius is uncanny. You have nothing, and I will make sure of that. But first, we must talk. Wing City, Business district.

The man had insulted Kander's intelligence. That is the one thing you don't do. He had crossed a line. And he was going to kill him .

Kander, realizing he left the bombs on his "democratic vessel" decided to simply set a charge in one of the public areas to draw a crowd in. Then he can escape before he is detected by someone of importance. He made his way through a set of nicely decorated hallways with nice glass windows, for a nice view of some of the gardens and the people strolling.

Kander heard hundreds of voices erupt in one of the public areas. It would make for a good distraction. He made his way to an iron door. He slid the ID card from the security into the card slot and entered a courtyard. It had nice patches of flowers, with groups of women, children, men, all sorts pondering, laughing, talking, yelling. There were multiple security squads strolling on the cement walkways, patrolling, looking for anyone... suspicious. Kander quickly made his way to a large group of people, and stood near the middle of the group. They began to take note of him though. "And who are you?" Said a defensive mother, holding her child's arm. Kander cocked his head, "A person looking to do no harm." A security guard must have heard him speak, as he had turned around and met Kander's sharp eyes. "Sir, you do not seem to be from around these parts. You cannot be here right now-!" Kander quickly pulled out his suppressed rifle and shot the man a total of five times, three in the leg, two in the neck and chest. He dropped. Luckily there were so many people too focused in on the gardens and flowers that they didn't even bother to turn around. As Kander had expected, the guard had a charge in his pocket. He grabbed it and threw it at a group of people. It exploded, sending bodies everywhere. Kander didn't even bother to check and see if there were any children caught in the blast. He slid the card back into a slot and ran as fast as his thin legs were able until he got to the back entrance. There were only three guards, all of their backs turned. He took his rifle and shot each in the head before they had time to turn around. He then concealed his rifle and ran, retracing his steps before the guards even realized what had happened. He checked his pocket watch. "Just in time."

Kander looked at the Teahouse, surprised that it was as nice as the rumors had made it out to be. The windows gave off flashing lights, implying that there must have been a party of sorts inside. He wasn't particularly fond of parties. There was a small flight of steps leading up to the glass doors of the nice looking building. He climbed them, while keeping an eye on the shady looking figures standing at the entrance, all had rifles in hand. "Welcome to the Teahouse." said a buff man with a deep voice. Kander pondered whether he should answer or not. "Why thank you," Kander finally said, deciding that not answering would make him look more suspicious than he already was. "Any weapons?" Said another, who pointed his rifle at Kander's feet. Kander nodded. "Yes. Where would the discard pile be?" The buff man held out his hands. Kander sighed. He pulled out his pistol, assault rifle, and a pocket knife. The buff man put them in a box and turned to him. "And what would your name be?"
"Kander. Kander Hotigan." The buff man winced at his name, the others stood up and seemed even more defensive than they already were. Kander held his hands up. "Just coming for a little meeting and I will be off this planet." The buff man was apparently the head of this little band, because everyone turned to him and waited for his response. "Fine. But two of my boys will accompany you in, and keep a watchful eye. We have heard the stories." Kander nodded. "My reputation precedes me."
They entered the teahouse. It was beautiful. It had nice lighting on this floor, with bamboo shoots next to the nice little mats that people were sitting on. In the middle of the room was the bar, which broke the Japanese theme. It looked more modern. It had nice white wood pillars, and a nice marble table, with a bartender who met everyone with an equally nice smile. "Nice place." Kander said quietly. What was a little odd to Kander was that the men were leading him around, not the other way around. The damned hacker must have some influence on these goons. They circled around the bar, and right behind it was a nice little mat like the others, but this one was glowing green, due to a little candle flickering on it. Behind the candle was a figure in a black hood. That was him. The annoying hacker that is making the empty threats.
Kander walked over and sat down in front of the candle and the hooded figure. "I'm here." "Oh, the great Kander has heeded the calls of a weak hacker. Funny isn't it?" Kander shrugged. "Weak? Clearly not, seeing as you practically run this place." "Oh, no. I don't run this place. No, no, no. That isn't the case here." Kander sighed, making a weird metallic groan. "Stop playing these games. What do you want with me?" "I don't want anything to do with you. But Gundo does." A green dot appeared on Kander's chest. "I can't say I didn't see that coming. Cause I did." The hooded figure didn't move. "Of course."

"Gundo has eyes everywhere. I suggest you heed my words." Kander laughed. "What makes you think I would listen to a coward who won't even show his face?" The hooded figure pulled back his hood to reveal a young man with green hair, peculiar looking glasses, and a grim facial expression. "Still a coward?" "Yes. Because you are pointing a gun at an unarmed man." "You are never unarmed." Kander had to give him that. He wasn't ever truly without a weapon. "True, true..." Kander looked around for anything he could use to kill the man before him. "I made sure that you have nothing to hold against me." The man said. Kander nodded. "I can see that. Not even a particle of dust on the ground." The green haired man narrowed his eyes. "Can never tell with you." He jabbed the gun forward a bit, then pulled it back. Kander was a bit disappointed. If the gun was extended just a bit farther, he could have taken it and shot the man. Then gone back to Hotigan Enterprises easy. "So, I hear you caused a scare." "What I do best." "I'm aware of that." "What is this Gundo you speak of?" "Top secret agency. Keeps the peace around these parts without anyone really realizing it. That part is thanks to me. I cover our tracks. Makes us undetectable." Kander shook his head. "Not completely. I was able to save that last message you encrypted into my data records. I can now trace it back." This was all a lie, but the man with the green hair seemed to temporarily believe it. His neck became tense- then relaxed. "Impossible. My encryption doesn't work like that." Kander sighed again. It was worth the try. "And what are you going to do with me?"

The man with the green hair smiled. "I have sent out a distress beacon to the local authorities. They will be here in a couple minutes... Lockjaw is no more. You can never hurt anyone ever again." Kander laughed. "Hold on..." The green haired man cocked his head, wondering what Kander could be talking about. "You... I... Oh, I killed your father. That's right!" Kander snapped his fingers, making the man in green flinch. "He had green hair just like you. And those same annoying eyes. Oh, I wish I could have been there for a more... personal... execution." The man's jaw clenched hard, his neck became tense again. Kander could hear his teeth grinding, could hear his finger rub against the trigger of his pulsar gun. "Do it. One shot can end me and my enterprise... One... SHOT."

A call was made out on reports of an explosion in the area. Chimera's, armored troop transports began to encircle the Omni Corp building, Imperial Guardsman of the Imperium of Man, dressed in beige colored flak vests and shouldering Las-guns surrounded the Perimeter.

Some Guardsman appeared on rooftops equipped with Lon-las rifles. Imperial Snipers took up position and peered into the building through the glass windows. "Damn...I report civilian casualties sir. I repeat civilians shot and blown up sir...Emperor preserve them all..." The sniper reported as they took up positions.

Of course, under orders. Two Adeptus Astartes, Two Space marines the Emperors angels of death had arrive on scene. Wearing yellow colored power armor and wielding bolters. These weapons fired 1.00 caliber rocket propelled uranium tipped rounds. These superhumans stood at position alongside Imperial Guard assets.

"Bastard...Whoever this sorry excuse of life is they picked the wrong time to invade. Brave men of the Emperor!" An Imperial Officer shouted raising his chainsword. "Today, your target is a ruthless killer! Your foe shows no respect to the defenseless! There will be no mercy for the enemy! There will be no escape for the enemy, only a penance of death awaits them! With the might of the Space Marines with us along with us brave Imperial Guardsman! All units advance! Rear teams ensure no one gets in or out without orders from me! TO GLORY!" The officer roared.

Soon sounds of battle cries roared from the crows as possibly fifty Imperial Guardsman began to enter the building from all angles, trained soldiers working together to breech the structure. The two space marine stormed the front in a disciplined manner, easily sweeping the area with their enhanced biology. These hulking armored superhumans stood at perhaps eight feet tall. Woever decided to raid this place was not expected to come out alive on a day where security was at an alltime high.

Not only was the green haired man not joking, but he was also serious to. He had shot Kander in the shoulder, taking a large chunk of it, and throwing it on the ground. The whole teahouse went quiet. Kander smiled, putting a hand on his blown shoulder. "I applaud you for being gutsy enough to do that... I really do..." Kander stood up, knowing that the man wouldn't kill him. He pulled out a pocket watch. He glanced at it, and was thankful that the idiots guarding the entrance didn't detect it, because this was the only toy he had on him. He took it and turned around, faster than the average male, and blasted backwards, diving behind some bamboo shoots before the green haired man opened fire on them. Kander pressed the second button, and his Rocket launcher began to unfold in his hand. He took it and pointed it at the wall closest to him and blasted it to bits with one of his only rockets. It exploded, exposing the outside. It was dark out now, night time. It would be easy to escape into the night. He hopped out of the teahouse after receiving yet another blast to the back, making him cough up blood, which just got stuck in his jaw. He pressed the first button on his rocket launcher, turning it back into a pocket watch, before running off towards the business district or at least what he thought was the business district. He couldn't really tell, his vision was blurred from the pulsar wounds. He had no doubts in his mind that the security in the business district upped its level tenfold. He had no idea.

Kander didn't realize how tough the security was in Wing City. Lack of security on the other planets he had raided had made him arrogant and lazy when it came to covering his tracks. He had a clear view of the OmniCorp HQ, and it was not looking good at all. He saw hundreds, possibly thousands of men flooding the building. And... were those troop transports? Perhaps he shouldn't have raided the OmniCorp HQ. Kander had always been one to do his research before going in headstrong, but this was just plain old reckless. His psychotic nature may have overridden that tiny conscience that still wanted him to do right by himself. He envied the orderly fashion of the soldiers as they filed out of the transports and stormed the building. It was truly a work of art when one had the time to sit down and watch it all. Of course, he was not one to have the time, seeing as he was most likely the one they were after in the first place. He didn't expect to get away easy on a planet like Terra after killing however many civilians died in the initial blast, and then the multiple guard personnel that he riddled with bullets.

It seemed as though his conscience grew more and more thin. Of course, a result of his psychosis. These days it grows harder and harder for Kander to still function regularly when in large crowds. That voice... it keeps coming. Telling him to end them. All of them. Although there was some strategy when it came to the recent bombing. He had to cause a distraction so he would go practically undetected at the spaceport and at the Teahouse. But there would soon be Wing City security personnel flooding the Teahouse just as the OmniCorp HQ is now.

He couldn't even be so sure that he could make it off Terra now, seeing as the Imperial Navy is probably now on the scene up there as well. It would take days before he could be allegedly KIA. He could effectively hide in the slums of Wing City, or another abandoned part of Wing City, but it would just be a life on the run. He was running out of options, and it didn't help that Gundo was now hot on his tail.

Harry cursed to himself, over and over. He had his father's killer right there, three feet in front of him. He had every chance to kill him. The shot he made should have hit his head, not his shoulder. And now he is gone. Slipped out of his grasp. Harry returned his hood to his head, covering his face, shielding his identity. He quickly propped his laptop open at an empty table in the Teahouse, and opened up the security feed in the OmniCorp building. "Holy... shit." Was all Harry could possibly say as he watched the Imperial soldiers storm the building. So many of them. Harry could only hope that they will find Kander and give him hell. That is all he ever wanted... was to see Kander dead. See his dark Enterprise fall. Maybe that can happen now... Maybe. He closed the security feed and opened up another window. A secret communication link on his laptop that allowed him to communicate with Gundo operatives. He needed to speak with someone that could ensure that Kander will be dead by tomorrow morning if all else fails.

The Soldiers all explored the building but found no trace of the intruder. Just remaining personal and guards on alert. "Target has fled the scene, all units on high alert. Secure planetary travel until target is caught! We are finding this bastard..." The Officer spoke to a Vox man who relayed the message to all Imperial assets to be on alert for a criminal.

With the threat gone, Guardsman began to usher out personal while they clean up the area. Especially the garden where the explosion went off. "Sick bastard...Family of three and three others caught in the blast...two children..." A Guardsman spoke sickened.

"Asshole, its not bad enough that some sick serial killer artist is loose...now we got someone who throws an explosive at children...Emperor watch over them..." The two went in silence as they made the symbol of the Aquilla over the dead as they got to work picking up the pieces left so they could patch them up to the best and give them a proper burial...

"Well, only way he can escape is through the spaceport, but we are going to lock that down tight, so we can just gather the images from security cameras, broadcast a wanted, and in a week guy will be in cuffs or better yet...gunned down..."

Kander busted his ass, making it down the street frantically searching for somewhere to lie low, and wasn't finding anything. He could now only assume that they realized that he wasn't in the building. They would be making their way down the streets, locking down every major area in Wing City. "Shit." He sighed, deciding to stop in an alley way to catch his breath. He was still so close to the building that he could hear the Imperials' footsteps. He began to formulate a plan in his head to get out of this mess. This has got to be the worst situation to land in when it comes to a city like Wing City. He would find a way though. He has to if his Enterprise is to survive. If he is to become greater than his father. He made a promise, a vow. And he will keep his vow. He will survive, one way or another.

Imperial soldiers marched across the city, multiple light armored vehicles and walkers also surveyed the area. In the air, Valkaryie transports searched by air with contingents of frop troopers ready to attack at any given point. Soon vox transmitions went out. "Attention guardsman, the Target is confirmed to have red and orange hair, a thin build and a mechanical jaw. Taget was last seen wearing maroon suit, with a dapper red bow tie, and a white dress shirt. Be on the lookout."

Of course the Guardsman and Imperial assets made sure to appear to still be on patrol rather than actively looking for a dangerous fellon. Of course with plenty of patrols and units it was hard to manuver through the city. Some guardsman even made makeshift checkpoints, not stopping anyone of course but kept eyes open for the targets description.

They were well teained indeed, and very prepared. With wars under their belt, stopping a criminal was just another task as usual.

Kalorus felt himself drifting off from the blood loss. The pain was fading, which wasn't a good thing in his case. That either meant that he was blacking out, or he was dying. Either one was pretty bad. He didn't even know where he was at this point and didn't care. He could hear the sound of tracks rolling on the streets, so he assumed he wasn't too far from the OmniCorp HQ, which meant they will find him in the alley way he was sitting in. He almost cursed himself, then realized how close the soldiers were, and decided to save that for another time. His eyelids got heavier. He heard people cheering for the vehicles and the soldiers. In front of him is a door. He breaks the door knob and stumbles in. A masculine figure grabs him, then everything goes black.

"This way! I heard something!" A soldier called out as his ears picked up the sound of a door being busted open. Soon soldiers surrounded the alleyway. Well, they dont have to shoot on sight but to make a public execution of such a vile criminal that killed children...this might increase the Imperiums popularity by a small margin.

The soldiers soon began to find out what happened inside the house he tried to bust into.

Kander woke up. He couldn't see. Anything. It was pitch black. He couldn't even guess where he was. The ground was cold and hard. His head was up against something metal, and the ground was wet. He rubbed his shoulder. It still hurt, but there was something over it. Maybe bandages. Same thing went for his back. A small voice pierced the sound. It made Kander jump. "Boy. You'll be lucky to even survive another day." The man had a rough voice, like a smoker's. He shuffled his feet. It made a little scrape noise. Kander said as quietly as he could, "I know that. Everyone knows that. The whole goddamn-!" "Shut your bionic jaw you sorry piece of shit. You listen here." A strong finger poked him in the chest. "Our plan was running smoothly until you sorry ass hole came to Wing City and ruined everything. My team was making baby steps. Baby steps ya hear? Then... Then you..."

Kander waited for the figure to return to ranting on him, but it didn't happen. "I know what you did. And dammit that shit was messed up. In fact. I don't even know why my boss wants you alive especially when it could ruin our operations that we have been working so hard for..." Kander heard something that sounded oddly like a gun clicking. Safety is off. "Do it." Kander said sharply. That must have made the figure jump, because he said nothing.

He felt something hard land on his lap. "Wear that. Lets go. Quickly now." A strong hand grabbed his arm and yanked back towards the light at the end of the darkness. They must have been in another alleyway. Kander checked his pocket watch. Yep, 12 O'clock, on the dot. He wouldn't be surprised if someone else came looking for him. He was itching to know who this damned figure holding his arm looked like. His answer was not very satisfying.

He had a full on motorcycle helmet on, so he couldn't see his face, and his body was covered in black leather. His boots were military grade combat boots. Kander figured he was part of those stupid biker gangs. His inferences was only further supported when the man hopped on a motorcycle himself. He waited then turned to Kander again. "What are you, stupid? Well, I suppose you are, killing all those people... Just hop on. The Imperials are in that building right there searching." He pointed to a nice looking apartment building. "This is the Business district. You don't try and brake in when the stakes are this high." Kander got on the motorcycle, but refused to hold the character driving. The wind soon began to push Kander's hair back, and almost threw him off the bike, so he begrudgingly held on to the man's shoulders. Then he realized just how much noise the damn motorcycle made. He would be surprised if they got picked off by imperial snipers in two seconds. Of course, he didn't tell his driver that, because he wanted to see him die. He didn't appreciate all the shit given to him. So he waited, either for them to reach their location... Or die. One or the other would be as satisfying as the other.

He didn't get an instant reply from his computer, which was slightly disappointing. Maybe the man was busy. He started to shut down the laptop when another message from the GUNDO window came up. Next to the name Artis it read "Give me and my team exactly 5.2 hours to get situated, and your target will be dead." Harry had never actually met the man named Artis, but he was apparently one of the greatest Bounty Hunters in the galaxy. Of course, Harry didn't believe everything he heard, like the fact that the guy could snipe a man ten miles away with a pistol. That is impossible. Not even a man training for something like that could actually do it. He typed in a response. "I will be keeping an eye out for your team's arrival." Harry then closed his laptop and exited the main entrance of the Teahouse. He noticed some dark red rifles and pistols. That must be Hotigan's load-out. He kept walking. He had to reach the spaceport and inform Artis of what he was up against. A vile criminal who kills unarmed civilians with explosives.

The man riding the motorcycle stopped, and cut off the motorcycle. And then there was nothing. No sounds. Kander wasn't nervous though. He hopped off the motorcycle and kicked a rock, which hit an abandoned apartment. In fact, all the buildings here were abandoned. "Your team is here?" The motorcycle guy nodded, still not removing his helmet. "Yeah..." He crossed his arms. Not even his hands were visible. Everything was covered in black leather. Then the motorcycle guy flinched. Kander still couldn't see anything. Motorcycle guy pulled off his leather glove, which revealed a rotten flesh torn hand with no fingernails. He walked up to a manhole cover and put his hand on it. It started to shift and move. Kander contemplated running. Yeah, he was gonna run. He sprinted towards the motorcycle, hopping on. He managed to start it and began to drive off. Something about this place made him on edge, and nothing puts a man like Kander on edge, ever.

He blasted forwards, going past abandoned buildings on either side of the disgusting road which was covered in slime and such. Then he heard footsteps. He turned around, to find motorcycle guy, sprinting. Boy did he sprint fast. In fact, he caught up with the motorcycle in no time. He grabbed Kander and yanked him off the motorcycle like Kander was a feather and tossed him to the ground. "Don't you dare, pull any of that shit. You hear me?" Kander didn't respond. The manhole cover was peeled back now, and more bodies started coming out of it. Most had black leather on, with a hoodie and black clothing to cover their mouths. They all gathered behind the big motorcycle guy. "These are my people." He turned around and raised his hands. "THIS- IS THE MAN WHO RUINED US!" He held Kander's neck in his hand and held him up like an exotic animal to the crowd. They all yelled in anger, "KILL HIM!" "FLAY HIM!" "BURN HIM!" Kander was getting real sick of this. Then he realized that the motorcycle man addressed these people as his. He figured they weren't human. Then they pulled back their hoods and masks. They were ghouls. Hellish humans that were caught in-between life and death. Some were missing noses, ears, an eye or two, some were bald, others had long hair and beards. But they all had rotten flesh for skin. Suddenly the whole place smelled like a pile of dead bodies.

The motorcycle guy threw him into the crowd. He felt gnarled hands grab him, and pull him, scratch him, tear up his suit and pants. He began to fight back, kicking them and punching them until he got to the end of the crowd. Then he ran as fast as he could. He could see trees. A forest perfect! The perfect cover! Yeah, he will soon regret that as well.

Kander instantly felt the cold rush of some sort of evil greater than even he. It was either face the ghouls back there, or maybe find an even worse fate. He decided that whatever was in the woods would have to face him. He began to sprint through the forest. The cold climate only got colder and more uncomfortable as he kept pushing through it. Something must have heard all the ruckus he was making throughout the forest, as he wasn't even giving the slightest attention to the placement of his feet, or his hands, or how loud his metallic breathing was. He just hoped some creature didn't attack him.

Harry just reached the Spaceport when security began to crack down on the people trying to enter, or leave the city. Some security were taking down panicked civilians by force, while others were shoved to the side. Harry had no problem weaving through the chaos. Until he received a hard metal pole like object into the midsection of his back, throwing him to the ground. He coughed up some blood before standing up to face his attacker. A masked figure, with the intent to kill him as he took another swing. Harry was somewhat ready for this, as he threw himself backwards. He quickly pulled out his pulsar gun and shot the masked man's shoulder, making him drop his pole. Harry began to call out, "SECURITY!" But he couldn't be heard over all the ruckus. The masked man disappeared into the panicked groups of people.

Harry ran to a check-in area, where the inhabitants there were slightly less violent. The reception desk was cracked and smashed, and the person behind the desk looked like he had dealt with some pretty violent guys. He had a bloody gash in his forehead and a ragged spaceport uniform on. He smiled weakly as Harry entered. Harry instantly knew this guy was a GUNDO agent. He quickly put his two index fingers together, and then tapped his right shoulder. The man behind the desk did the same, but with his left. They nodded. Harry kept walking past the reception desk, the GUNDO agent in tow. "I heard about Artis. Are you sure a man like Hotigan is worth the overkill or-!" "Yes." Harry said coldly, turning around to stare at the Private. "I witnessed first hand, the destructive intent of Mr. Hotigan, and I intend to kill him. Resources tell me that he was captured by some biker, most likely a part of one of the local bike gangs..." The private looked impressed with Harry's analysis of the situation. They reached the docking bay. He noticed a smaller ship, that looked old, rusty, and barely able to fly as it shuddered to a stop in front of the traffic controllers with their flashing beams. A tall, dark figure walked out of the ship, flanked by four other men with fully automatic weapons, under the guise of some sort of Terran uniform. Harry and the Private met the dark figures just behind a pillar, out of sight. The tall man who lead the group propped his hat high enough so Harry could get a clear view of his face. His eyes glowed red, and his expression was... well, there wasn't one. He had a completely expressionless face as he gazed at Harry. He didn't blink either. That was slightly unnerving. "Agent." Harry replied stiffly. A monotone voice replied, "Agent Hathom. Pleased to be in your acquaintance..." One of his glowing eyes turned to locate the private, who was sweating profusely, and began to dab at his forehead with his sleeve. "Now, we must talk of the target." Harry said, pulling out his computer. The man put a heavy hand on the computer. "There will be no need for that Agent. I have all the information I need... except..." He flashed a murderous eye, "Dead... or Alive?" Harry was taken aback by the sudden change in voice. "Uh- oh..." He gave a glance to the private, then realized he was the highest ranking agent in the room. "If he can be kept alive, then by all means... do so..." Artis's eyes gave a look of disappointment. He clearly wanted to kill something. "But if you cannot bring him in... then you may kill." Artis bowed, his black coat waving. "Of course. I will be leaving these gentlemen with you while I locate Mr. Hotigan."

Harry was, again, surprised. "Oh, uh, yeah... okay-!" "You are not very confident when in command. I will take note of that." Artis said in his trademark monotone. Harry had enough of the man, his jaw now clenched in anger. "Find Mr. Hotigan within twelve hours or-!" Artis waved his hand. "Yes. Yes. I am aware." He swept passed Harry, who stood there, stiff. The Private frowned. "He was... intimidating." Harry clenched his fist. "Back to your post private." The private gave the GUNDO signal, and the four men that Artis brought with him flanked the private back into the waiting room. Harry decided to hit his apartment and get some rest. He was a little worried that Hotigan was alive, and saw his face, but Harry knew that Artis would get the job done. Artis was known for never letting a target live. Ever. Especially not in the name of GUNDO. Harry decided to take the back exit, which had tamer security, and he left the Spaceport without a problem.

Kander burst out of the Cursed Woods, gasping for air, or something to keep him alive. He felt as if something had dug its cold hand into his lungs, and ripped out his air, forcing him to resort to extreme measures to keep breathing. Some sort of magic or something. He didn't have time to formulate a plan, as he realized that he had hit a steep drop, and was now barreling down towards his grave. He felt his back hit multiple solid surfaces, over and over. He put his hands out to catch something, but there was nothing to catch but a couple weeds, which were torn out of the ground as he put his hands around it. He managed to get to his feet as he rocketed downwards, but quickly lost his footing for good this time, falling, hitting his head off something hard, then blacking out.

A sealed envelope appeared on the doorstep of every occupant of the Cursed Wood, as well as fastened elegantly to many tree branches. It was a formal invitation to the current occupants to attend the Ball of Chaos.
