Katy Lockhart pulled up outside the bar, her marked police vehicle drawing a few eyes as she stepped from it, fully armed and armoured, closing the door behind her. Two other officers stepped out from the back of the vehicle, similarly clad and with similarly hard expressions. They were on duty, they were disciplined - exactly why Lockhart had chosen them.

The police commander approached the door of Gambit's Bar with a frown, pushing the door open and walking into the bustling chaos, drawing suspicious glances from those patrons who were on the bad side of the law more often than not.

Attenborough wanted a police guard? Well she was going to get one.

Katy Lockhart turned at the request for help, signalling to her companion officers to take positions at opposite sides of the bar, and walked over to where Steph was emerging from sleep.

"What seems to be the problem, ma'm?"

Katy Lockhart frowned at the odd question "How do...? Hm, it's rather difficult to explain - it's something you really take for granted. I really think that these are things you'll have to figure out on your own, ma'am - I'm not here to play walkabout."

Katy Lockhart shook her head "You should probably consult a doctor, ma'am, I'm no expert on this sort of thing."

Katy Lockhart made her way over to the bar, near where Assa and Christopher were speaking. She nodded to the bartender, and ordered herself a glass of water - she couldn't be seen drinking alcohol on the job, after all.

Katy Lockhart looked to Christopher with a raised eyebrow "You needn't worry about what I overhear, I have little interest." she said, folding her arms "Unless of course you're planning anything illegal. You aren't planning anything illegal now, are you sir?"

Katy Lockhart nodded dismissively, having little interest in the activities of vampires. The cases involving vampires were usually treated similarly to rape cases. The key was whether the subject had given consent, though if the case had reached court it was likely that they hadn't. Of course, there were also murders, but that line was clear cut.

Katy Lockhart instantly becomes alert at the sound of gunfire, and pulls her own weapon out, pointing it upwards at the rafters, the source of the shot, and yells out "Get down from there with your hands up! Get your ass where I can see it!"

Katy Lockhart "Stop right there! You're under arrest for attempted murder! GET THE FUCK BACK HERE!" she yelled, running after Odimag, the other two officers following behind her.

Katy Lockhart emerged out onto the street, the two other officers flanking behind her, and directed her weapon upwards to the window that the assailant would have emerged from "Freeze! You're under arrest, drop your weapon and come peacefully or we WILL open fire!"

Katy Lockhart spotted the man aiming at her, and quickly jumped aside, avoiding the bullet. "Lenhart, take the car and circle around to block her path at the earliest point you can! Anderson, call in air support, I'm going after the bastard! Go go go!" she yelled, running toward the nearest building and leaping, her technologically enhanced agility allowing her to climb to the rooftops with ease, where she now had a clear shot at the fleeing man. Levelling the rifle, she set its mode and fired, deploying a powerful electromagnetic pulse that would disable the man's weapon and any moving parts in his grappling hook.

Katy Lockhart ran forwards, leaping between the rooftops after the man. Once she reached the window she leapt through, raising her gun again, changing the setting once more, and fired, this time sending a peppering of bullets towards the man's legs. In the meantime, another of the officers pulled up his car outside the building and levelled his weapon at the door, also watching the other exits - the windows.

Katy Lockhart systematically worked her way through the building, kicking in doors and firing on anything inside the rooms, at the same time, a second unit of officers arrived below, and eight entered the building, working their way up from the bottom whilst Katy worked her way down. In the distance, the sound of helicopter blades could be heard.

Katy Lockhart leant on the wall, frowning and panting. She raised the radio to her mouth, "I think we lost him boys, nobody can find a single trace of the fucker." she muttered, shaking her head "Makes no bloody sense, he must be a 'porter."

Katy Lockhart shook her head again, retracing her steps up through the building. Eventually, she emerged into the attic room that they had both entered through, and walked to the window, peering out to exchange a confused glance with the officers below. By now the entire building was surrounded, several police cars parked and numerous armed officers below. Within the building, officers continued to search, and there were several stationed on the roof. If this guy was still here, he would have to be a bloody Houdini to escape.

Katy Lockhart continued the search for several hours, unwilling to give up. Every bed was moved, every closet opened, every cupboard revealed and every curtain pulled back. After this long time, one officer suggested they investigate the inner workings of the building. They then began to work their way through the ventilation systems, followed by the piping, and finally, the lift. Katy and several other officers rappelled down into the elevator shaft, the torches on their guns illuminating the darkness as they descended.

Katy Lockhart swore as the bullet caught one of her companions in the arm, and instructed the other two to help him back up. She then released her rapple, as the other officers were contacted by radio - within a few moments every lift entrance was covered by a group of officers, their guns pointed at it. Katy landed on the roof of the elevator with a thud, and reached down to tear it back, her gun pointed at the single occupant.

"Game over." she muttered.

Katy Lockhart smirked as she walked out of the elevator, kneeling down and cuffing the man "You can't beat the law, bastard. It's only a matter of time before we come crashing down on your case."

The cuffs, constructed of metal and enforced with energy similar to that employed in military forcefields, would hold the man until they got back to the station. Katy led him into one of the police vans, and they set off to where he would be held in custody until such a time as he could be brought to trial.

Katy Lockhart chuckled "Did you honestly think we could run a city like this without an elite police force? No donut munching layabouts for us."

Katy Lockhart raised an eyebrow "We've long abandoned Gambit's Bar as a lost cause, but after that recent incident and Miss Attenborough's requests, we've finally set a police guard. We can't be there 24/7 though, obviously. There will always be times when we're occupied with other issues, and as long as Gambit's Bar doesn't spill out into the main city we're happy to let the lot of you rot."
