Backstory: Kel'Var was created as a magical construct from fey and faerie energies, inseparably connected to the Whispering Woods they came from. Whomever it was must have been someone with great power, and Kel'Var remembers journeying with a previous master for quite some time. The details about those adventures have been lost to Kel, however. For at least one hundred years Kel'Var has remained buried beneath the surface of the Whispering Woods covered in moss and topsoil. Its blue spirit has all but died out. His wooden carapace extends out of the ground, perfectly disguised amongst the rest of the forest.
However, disturbances in the forest have called to reawaken Kel'Var. Perhaps it would only take some lonesome wanderer to sit in precisely the right spot on a suspiciously comfortable looking rock to reawaken the old soul. That would certainly make for quite the adventure, as coincidence usually does. ;)
