History
Kendra Shaw is an officer from the Ministry of Defense who is assigned to the Solemn Penance as then Admiral Helena Cain's aide when the Reverence puts in for an overhaul at the Scorpion Fleet Shipyards. She sees the assignment as a stepping stone to her real goal, which is Fleet Command.
Shaw's mother, former Siress Marta Shaw, recently died of cancer prior to the lieutenant's posting to Pegasus. It is insinuated by Cain upon her first meeting with Shaw that she receives this posting due to her mother's influence. Shaw also claims to be a "lapsed Classics major" upon recognizing that Gina Inviere's last name is old Gemenese for "resurrection".
Never having served on a Reverence before, she quickly draws Admiral Cain's attention, initially drawing her ire for reporting in late because she couldn't find her way to the CIC, as well as the deduction that Shaw was using the assignment as a step on the career ladder. During the Terran Conflict, she becomes one of Cain's most trusted officers — Cain sees in her a potential to become molded into a "razor". Cain's confidence in her abilities gets her promoted to captain.
After her promotion to Captain she still serves under Cain through the Terran Conflict, demonstrating her tactical prowess, she was assigned command of the Tripartite Base after the finalization of peace negotiations. Promoted to Commander, she served aboard the Solemn Penance.
Recently, in light of the Terrorist attacks, she was promoted to Fleet Admiral, and assigned command of the Classis I Sector Langara (2 Reverence II Fleets, and 1 CNV Strike Fleet), where she carried out Operation Ordo Infernus, resulting in the complete destruction of a great portion of Terra's surface through slow and thorough glassing.
Broken by the gravity of her deeds, she turned to drugs in the hopes she could cope with the nightmares of the atrocities she committed under the command of the Aschen Empire, inevitably she was captured by Terran Authorities, but managed to flee to the Taiyou Empire. There she earned the affection of then Emperor Nobuo Takayama, whom she married and bore two children, Aeka, and Shimizu.
So begins...
Kendra Shaw pushed the door to the bar open slowly, straightning her dark blue uniform she took a step forward. "Interesting place." She said as she let her boots thunk softly against the wood finish of the bar. "So the rumors are true.... though I'd rather be on the homeworld then a place like this." She fussed as she passed a group of patrons, the dark skinned Gemonese woman seemed to take in the sights. First her eyes fell on Rage, then she turned to Absolution Stern, but she said nothing.
Kendra Shaw scowled somewhat and then turned to Phinx. "Push wigs back... Miss Munroe... I have a couple of questions for you if you don't mind, like why your buddies were camping outside my base yesterday." She said flatly as she took the sights, then she shook her head at the weapon she held, Kendra resting her own hand on her Type-25.
Kendra Shaw blinked a few times. "Robots?" She asked as she tilted her head for a moment. "Seriously?" She said before she grasped something at her belt, and then she tripped a lever forward, the small device then set off a powerful Electro-magnetic Pulse, anything electronic within the radius of the bar would suddenly be instantly fried and defunct. Kendra then chuckled. "Thats how it's done."
Kendra Shaw yawned as she pushed the door to the bar open slowly. The interior and the various patrons of Gambit's bar greeted the woman as she stepped over a passed out drunk. "Hmm.." Though Gambit's was a short walk from the base, the commander was rarely here. Her eyes would move about the interior of the bar as she walked through. First she passed by Serenity. as she made her way over to the bar.
Next she passed by Catira, Kendra's dark blue uniform absorbing the light of the bar, weapons and equipment tied to her belt clinked with her movements. "Bartender, I would like something to drink." She said, her voice laced with a faint Gemonese lilt.
Kendra Shaw flinched at the loud gunshot, and promptly threw a small strap back on her holster as she turned to look outside the bar. "What the frak?" She said as she ducked slightly. "Hmmm." She then watched JoJo for a moment, before she stared out the door. "This place always like this?" She asked, tilting her head, after all Kendra was new to this part of town.
Kendra Shaw silently strolled across the bar, her presence carrying a powerful authority with it, her expression, the way she carried herself practically screamed razor. She was a fighter, a strong type A personality. Soon she would find herself strolling over to the couch where JoJo and Catira were sitting. Her expression was emotionless, neutral.
"Hello." She said as she sat down, drink in hand and soon brought to her lips. "Names Kendra... and you are?"
Kendra Shaw offered a nod. "Pleased to meet you." A Few chimes echoed from her pocket and she withdrew a small silver phone, resembling a motorola Razr. "Commander Shaw.... very good... I'll meet with Commandant Katamura tomorrow, right now I'm having a drink.... thank you... I'll be there this evening for debrief..." She then flipped the phone closed and then nodded. "So what brings you guys to a place like Gambit's?" She asked, shifting in her seat as she crossed one leg over the other.
Kendra Shaw paused a moment and inspected Catira for a moment. "Hmm.. you look like you have a red blood cell deficiency... you could probably get treatment at a clinic here in the city." She then reached into her utility belt and then withdrew a small silver pouch. "Hold out your hand." If Catira held out her hand, a series of six different pills would be dropped in her hand. "Vitamins, they'll restore your strength... as for why I'm here.. you know that large military base down the street? I'm the commander for one of the factions in that base... We maintain the peace here." Shaw explained.
"I'm here to have a couple drinks, escape the humdrum of military life... to relax.. you know?"
Kendra Shaw narrowed her eyes as the Enclave personnel walked into the bar to recruit people, she examined the powered armor first. "Hmm... power armor of some kind... not unlike the armor employed by our Tactical Operations.... but this isn't right." She then smiled to the two she was sitting with. "Excuse me.. business calls." Adjusting her uniform she rose to her feet, smoothing the creases of her dark blue uniform, she began to approach the table. Her hand resting on her sidearm, which was a sleek, advanced weapon. It too was plasma based, but more elegant and far more accurate.
"Are you the commanding officer here?" She asked calmly, her collar insignia glimmering in the light. "You're recruiting yet you did not clear this with the Tripartite Alliance that controls this world... I am Commander Shaw, I command the Aschen Division of the Alliance... care to explain this to me?" She asked flatly.
Kendra Shaw shook her head. "An unsanctioned group that is out for control and rebellion, the Alliance doesn't tolerate rogues... and if you pay attention you can see that we're working to stamp out these skittering groups you speak of. The Tripartite Alliance won't tolerate groups working against our interest." She said as she paced around a desk. "I want a full report on your organization on my desk.
Standing a few feet away from one of the soldiers she inspected him. "Power armor... are you aware that it's a little excessive, and not exactly condoning to the message you're trying to broadcast... what is the motive of your group on this world... your political stance on the Taiyou Empire, Aschen Confederation, and UCON?"
Kendra Shaw narrowed her eyes as she leaned forward, attempting to intimidate the man. "So you just... colonize other worlds without their consent... and it's not twelve, the total is fourty..." She said as she walked around. "So for example... you come to the home-world, Langara... decide to colonize... our government kindly asks you to leave... so what if you're not a threat, you'll still be deported.
She then cleared her throat and leaned back. "These weapons... now on this world we're a little more lax.. this is a frontier world for all three governing factions... how did you get here and where did you come from, did you use a quantum gate?"
Kendra Shaw smiled when she heard the term mercenaries. "Mercenaries... good... I like mercenaries... as for officials of our government, so long as your camps are on this world, you answer to either myself, Commandant Katamura, or Admiral Savage... But I like mercenaries... and if you're not conflicting in interest with the Alliance.. I might have some jobs for you." She then grasped a sheet of paper with three names, Jeremaiah Swift, John Izumi, and Kazen Horne. "The Confederation has wanted these individuals for some time... if you bring them to justice... you'll have our support."
Kendra Shaw nodded as she spoke up. "No need.. i have to return to the base, I will dispatch someone by Raptors to deliver the information to your commander, the payment is outlined in the information packet... however my presence is needed back at the base. She said as she turned to walk out. "Someone from my base will contact your Commander within the week."
Kendra Shaw pushed the door to the bar open, and she slowly made her way into the bar itself. Eyes carefully made their ways around the surroundings. She was an observant one. And so she walked into the bar. Boots thunking on the wooden floor as she approached the bar.
"Ambrosia, please." She said as she held out her hand, the Bartender promptly providing her with the proper drinks.
Kendra Shaw smiled as she turned to face Claire with her ambrosia glass in hand. "I'm the commander of the base, I work with the Taiyou commandant in the base and have been investigating some things.... with the war behind us it's back to normal." She said before she leaned back. "Mollem and Marlene got a nasty divorce.. he gave her a severance deal.. then last I saw he took some woman and ran off with her to Langara." She added.
Kendra Shaw frowned somewhat. "The Taiyou have been complaining of terrorist activities in the area, so I figured I would dive down here and see for myself exactly what the hell is going on.. this bar really isn't my taste but I have to see for myself on some things." She said before she slid a glass towards Claire. "Mollem picked her up when he dove down here and took her on a trip, that's all I know.. He's probably been courting her long before this happened, after all the bitch has to learn a lesson somehow."
Kendra Shaw nodded. "Helena Cain beat that out of me... I was a lot like Marlene in a way... but how she got helped up the ladder, though I hear rumors after this divorce Marlene's going to be back to Special Agent, investigating petty thefts committed by foreigners if she keeps at it." She said sipping her drink.
"The Taiyou... I know.. they keep everything clean, anything foreign is disgusting to them..." She said shaking her head.
Kendra Shaw nodded. "Helena Cain is my mentour..." She added as she turned to look at the bartender. She then turned back to face Claire." Marlene has been getting in a lot of trouble, her husband got fed up with it.. so he ditched her..." She said as she shook her head. "So.. Mollem.. I don't know how long he's going to serve his Parliament term, but I Know he's going to make Marlene's life a living hell."
Kendra Shaw sighed somewhat and then she swiveled on her stool. "Marlene had the training just not the personality, she thought it an excuse to play secret agent... In any case she screwed up and is going to pay for it... what are you going to do, Minister? I learned a long time not to get involved with the McGregors."
Kendra Shaw shrugged. "My advice, Minister, is to take a leave of absence, go to Paradeen or something... get away from the McGregors and get away from Langara.. just don't get involved and nothing will happen to you." She said as she turned back to face the bar. "Take a page out of Helena's book."
