Keridan Gothal
Honour Guard of the Order, in the Fan'thol clan
Personality
Keridan is a nice, caring guy, maybe a bit too over-protective at times, but apart from that people don't really have negative opinions on Keridan. Following in his father's footsteps, Keridan became an Honour Guard, to protect the Fan'thol clan as much as possible. At least, that was what the Order was for in the past, now that the clan has gotten larger, they became a special task-force for the clan's leader. The amount of members shrunk and the requirements to join became heavier. Keridan's years of training made him a disciplined person. He doesn't give up soon and will do a lot to fulfill his task. Keridan has had quite a number of disagreements and discussions with Callion, mostly about tactics and how to run the clan, but they're probably best friends. Arguing is merely part of most friendship, after all.
Description
Keridan's skin is less blue than most of the clan, almost gray. This is normal for his family though, and despite getting treated bad by some of the most blue-skinned clansmen, Keridan is proud of it. Keridan is almost as tall as Callion (who is one of the tallest of the clan), but broader than Callion. They always joke about it being because of Keridan's armour, which is quite heavy. Keridan also has a pair of horns, which are more decorative than practical (though it makes for a great headbutt). He has long blonde hair and very light teal eyes.
Fighting style
Keridan uses a large, two-handed sword in battle, which has proven to be very durable. Thanks to it's broadness it can block incoming attacks quite well. Keridan is considered a master swordsman and will only rarely do something clumsy with it, no one's perfect. Keridan's fighting style is more about out-living his opponent than killing the opponent before the opponent kills him. Keridan's fights always take long, though it's not known how long he can fight because he has yet to fall. Keridan is very healthy, has only a few scars and uses his strength to fight his opponents. He's not slow, but not fast either.
Magic
Keridan's magic is almost completely based on protecting and defending, apart from a few offensive spells. Magic is quite common in the clan, though the kind of magic Keridan has is only common among the Honour Guards, seeing it's one of the requirements. Bolstering allies (or himself), healing and turning the enemies attention to himself.
Spells
Keridan can cast certain spells:
Heal- Heals an ally or self, quickly returning some of their health to them.
Rejuvenate- Stills hunger, quenches thirst and heals sicknesses, quite useful.
Resistance- Reduces the amount of damage the target takes.
Taunt- Causes enemies to target Keridan.
Rally- Increases morale and reduces stress of allies and self.
Smite- Casts down raw light energy down upon an enemy, with either stun or after-burn as an effect.
Guidance- Engulfs Keridan's sword with light magic, increasing the damage and hit-rate, especially against demons or undead.
Cleanse- Removes a curse, intoxication or other negative status-effect from the target.
Flash- A flash of light emits from Keridan's eyes, blinding enemies and healing allies slightly.
Shield- Absorbs or deflects an incoming attack, can also be used to bash an enemy when there are no incoming attacks.
Call to arms- Keridan calls upon the spirits, asking for the aid of them who have died for justice. Summons fallen soldiers.
Conviction- Bigger version of Smite, used against very strong or very numbered enemies.
Horseman
Keridan can not only ride horses, he can also fight while sitting on one. Of course it was difficult to learn riding hands-free,
but now he greatly benefits from it. Yes, it was also one of the requirements. Frequently the Honour Guard has been seen riding out on
the battlefield, crushing their enemies beneath the hooves of their steeds. These horses are larger than regular horses and are especially
bred for the Honour Guard. Although the Honour Guard are extremely dangerous on foot, they're an even bigger threat when mounted.
Sometimes when they're on a horseback, the Honour Guard is referred to as the Salvation Chargers.
