Description

"Magicians are normally pretty-" He whipped a look over behind his shoulder, then lowered his voice. Mustn't speak to loud about others, especially when they are right across the room. "They're normally pretty cool, but this isn't just a normal magician. I don't know exactly how far his talents go," Kethyr again glanced behind him. Reaching back into his pocket, he pulled out another card. This one was different from the card that already lay on the table. It was not a business card, but a playing card. He placed it face down. The back of the card's decoration was so intricate, one might need a microscope to see the design. "He left me with this, after disappearing in a puff of orange, rum flavored smoke," Kethyr whispered, wrinkling his nose at the memory.- Kethyr Naethus on Merphin Dazzle in Gambit's Bar

Kethyr Naethus followed after the Beast and Jake, keeping his eyes on her. He didn't fully trust the Beast, not after what she did to him, but it appeared he had no choice. They were family, if not by direct blood by unfortunate circumstance. "She's our elder," Kethyr spoke with disdain, senses heightened.

Part of him wanted to approach the woman, no not woman. Beast. Instead, he chose to saunter up to a fire pit, and poke at it with his toe. He had yet to turn his back on the woman, and couldn't help but find her strangely beautiful. But no, she was the cause of all of this, and for that, he couldn't help but hate her.
- Kethyr Naethus in the Cursed Wood

She had told the whelp that was tailing her around the city that he could not learn to fight with the wolf-mind, if he did not first learn to fight as a man. There was truth to it, for without humanity to temper the beast one would inevitably succumb to madness.- Maria Raghild on Kethyr in the Master's Dojo

"You are an idiot child," Maria snapped. "You have no understanding of the wolf-mind, and no weapons. How is it you plan to fight?" she demanded. She shoved him to the ground, stepping closer to loom over top of him. There was something menacing in her movement and her posture, something feral and hostile. For several moments she glowered at him, assessing him. "You cannot learn to use the wolf-mind if you cannot even use your own. You will learn to fight as a man, and then maybe, maybe you will learn to use the wolf-mind." She stalked away towards the city, leaving him to stay or follow as he chose.- Maria Raghild
to Kethyr, who chose to follow.

The harsh movement startled Kethyr, but only for a moment. His mind was racing, his thoughts going wild places they had never gone before.

What undead?!
It was all Kethyr could do from flinging his arms wide and exposing himself. The past fourty eight hours had consisted of nothing but chaos, madness, and unanswered questions. He'd had it up to here. And what the hell did Veideemadador, or whatever, even mean?

Alright, he got the fact that the wolf woman was trying to tell them something, hell even push them back to where she had brought them. But why? Why?! Flustered and frustrated, he stomped once towards the woman. Damnit, he wanted to go home, to a bed, to water, to clothing!

Kethyr Naethus stared agape as the woman began to follow Jake back to camp, infuriated. After spluttering a few unintelligible words of discontent and confusion, he sighed. It would be even dumber than this situation to just stay out here in the middle of the woods, alone. Especially if there was something around that concerned the she-beast. He glanced quickly from left to right, if it worried her it most certainly should worry him.

As he started to follow, he was halted in his steps by what sounded like...Jake yelling? Oh no... Kethyr decided it best to pick up the pace a bit, only to witness the shocking and potentially horrifying.

Kethyr Naethus decided it best to slink behind a tree, and watch from afar. Assuming ulf-hugger meant brains of some variety, he decided to exhibit his by not provoking a blow.

Kethyr Naethus was choking, surely, feeling panic sear through him as the icy hand closed around his throat. Need something? Rip in two? Scared, vulnerable, and still clutching at the furs, he only had time to start to begin the word "Huh?" before the strange man had him right where he wanted him.
This day could not get any worse, a bead of sweat appeared on Kethyr's temple.

Kethyr Naethus couldn't do much, but reached with a hand to the tree. His goal would be to peel a piece of bark off, thus creating some sort of sound. His ears were telling him that Maria and Jake were leaving, and panic began to surge more steadily through him. This was awful!

Kethyr Naethus crumpled to the ground upon being released, gasping for air. The sounds around him were swimming, but from it he could clearly make out the taunting voice of the man who was just strangling him. Crawling to a stand, Kethyr made to scamper into the woods, stumbling from tree to tree. He was still recovering from oxygen deprivation, in a state of pure panic. Struggling to catch his breath, he flopped after Jake.

It seemed like forever since he had last set foot in this city, but it in fact had only been about three years. Kethyr couldn't tell much of the time difference, ever since his turning the moon had ruled him.

He strolled down Main Street, shoulders slightly hunched, hoping he didn't run into any of his old co-workers. No call no show wasn't a very respectable way to leave employment.

Kethyr immediately spotted the purple display of clothing, and dreaded crossing paths with this man. There was something about him, perhaps it was-Kethyr sniffed-his smell? It smelled kind of familiar, but...

The red haired fellow picked up the pace, casting his gaze downward as he drew closer to the men.

Shit.

Kethyr stopped in his tracks, knowing it would be wisest to pay these men respect. He gulped as the scent of wolf sat thick in his nostrils, fear seeping from his glands.

"Uh, hah, uh..." He adjusted his glasses, which had a stick for the right ear bar, and looked nervously at the staff.

Kethyr rocked from the side slap, listening intently to the words. He could tell they were wolves, but that didn't mean he should immediately trust him.

Didn't it?
Maybe he had this all wrong. Wolves were, after all, pack animals.

Kethyr offered back a half smile, and held his elbow with the opposite hand. "Nice rhyme," he said sheepishly, looking from the gun to the grin.

Kethyr nearly melted into a pile of goop on the sidewalk.

A wolf, bitten by a man? It sounded crazy, but he wasn't about to say that. As for the whole city wolf thing...well..Kethyr had to admit, he hated the woods. He hated everything about the forest, wanted his job back, and wished he had never been turned. This could be his chance away from all that crap, away from sleeping in leaves and musty furs, away from curling up inside the hollowed carcass of your prey for the night.

"No," He spoke up. "Not with a pack," and added, with a bit more vigor, "Yet."

It was night, dark, why was he outside? Kethyr looked left, then right.

A cat scattered across the street, he was tempted to chase it. Why? Why not, it was his nature? Damn his nature. Damn it all, damn the wood, damn this city.

The moon was rising. Was it full? No.

Oh, shit, no not tonight.

There was a man standing there, and then there was as wolf.

It snarled, lowering it's snout to the ground as a superior wolf made itself known. Though his line was strong, Kethyr himself was weak. Lithe muscles rippled beneath glorious red fur. Tatters of his business wear lay in waste.

Kethyr woke up, naked, somewhere damp and smelling of mold and musk

Not again.

This was awful, as usual. One minute he was a normal guy, the next he was lying naked in the woods. Usually upon waking up, Kethyr was covered in blood. Not this time, thankfully.

Actually...Where was he? Oh... A sinking feeling took to his gut as he registered the smell. Furs. Old furs, left out here for possibly years. The area was silent as he looked around. Silent, out here in the woods, Kethyr was alone.

Maria.

He gathered a stiff fir around him and shivered. So he had ended up here. Alone. A large scratch ran up the left of his ribs. Had he gotten into a squabble with something? Someone? He could never remember. Even now, Kethyr's thoughts were foggy as he ambled in circles around the long abandoned camp.

Maria. He thought again of the she-wolf who had destroyed him. He thought of the lives lost the night this...This horrible thing happened. He didn't feel sorry for his old friends. Kethyr heard himself growl.

Where did that come from? That growl? That...Noise he had just made? He halted in his tracks, embarrassed, and looked around.

This would do.

Kethyr arrived at Wanderer's camp, swathed in disgusting half molded furs. He was tired, at this point, of crawling back to Wing City, naked and in shame. The man had lost his job, his parents had rejected him. Keeping his affliction a secret grew harder with the passing time. Thought it seemed like ages, it probably wasn't even that long.

He didn't know, he had lost track. He didn't even have his glasses. His world wasn't compromised, but things gt fuzzy. With a miserable look on his face, for his thoughts were quite grim, he approached the main hut.

Room for work?
It was a simple request. Kethyr kept his eyes cast down. He had nothing, and in this swing of post-wolf depression, wanted nothing.

Well, what was this? He had been staying at the camp for a day or two, and had no idea what this giant thing to the north in the distance was.

Now he did. He wasn't quite sure what to think, but got the feeling he didn't belong here. Kethyr continued exploring.

He emerged from the wood as a figure began to walk away. It was a figure he knew, he was sure of it. Kethyr had seen her long ago. Clutching a fur, he began to follow her.

He was lucky to have scored some pants. Turned out it helped to be a tech geek, he helped that old camp fix their cable. They had given him some pants and a tee, but he still wore the furs. Like a cloak.

He began to pick up pace, a memory blossoming in his mind.
He ran after her.

He ran harder, somehow not taxing despite his form. This was attributed to wolf.

Who was she? What was her name? He struggled to find the words as his flip flops carried him closer. Then, it was there,

M'ria!

He had found her, holy shit he had found her.

Finally. At last. He let loose a laugh, half a sob, and flip flopped to a stop. He wanted to hug her but the look on her face said...He...Shouldn't. Ah, oh yeah that look wasn't...That wasn't a very friendly look. His smile only faltered a bit, he was too excited to see her.

I've found you at last!
He presented the fur,
Were you coming back?

Kethyr shrugged, wondering what other reasons she would have to come back this way.
Back like...a pack.

He faltered a bit, drawing the fur closer to him. She wasn't coming back, was she.

What? No.

Nononono. Kethyr took off after Maria, a fluster on his cheeks. As he ran, he grew angry. Pissed, actually.

Don't even,
He said with frustration sticking to his words,
Deny me that, ulfhanadur.
He of course referred to what plagued him every about full moon.

He snarled, growled, where did that come from again? Stomping up to Maria, Ulfhednar, rage burned in his mind. She would not deny him. He was not about to come so close and then be turned away. The answers he sought lie solely with her, or so Kethyr thought.

He was less than a foot from her, clenching the fur. He was a fighter. He had lasted this long, damn it, without her. He was not a child any longer, he had run with another pack. Two. He might have fought, he didn't know. He woke up with scars and cuts.

I am Ulfhednar,
Kethyr met Maria's gaze with his own lethal stare,
Yours.
His lip twitched as he shoved the fur at Maria.
