Khay T'Uun

Khay T'Uun. Slave to the Greater Powers, Master of her own Domain- Entity of Chaos.

0 · 164 views · located in Decrepit Graveyard

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Khay-T-Uun

Description

And so She stands there
Shimmering, apart, yet Here
What does she look like?

Khay, as most know her, stands at any height she wishes- to a degree, and based on the dimensional stability of whatever zone she is in. Most often she will range between Five feet and Eight, and can only go as small as six inches and as large as seventeen- to do so is to involve herself in quite the ritual in either case, to be assured.

That said, it is one of a few variables in her appearance. Her figure is usually lithe, assuming she takes care of herself while in a physical realm- toned muscles and long, slender limbs. Her face is angular, with a sharp chin, and eyes that burn bright red, or simmer dull magenta. Full, oft quirked lips hide sharp teeth, pointed all with long fangs. Atop her head is a glorious mane of hair- long black hair in dreadlocks, or dark red hair let loose in waves.

Of course, most might assume her to be an abnormal human of strange posture and mutated features... without taking into consideration her extra set of arms, as dexterous and capable as her others, and the prehensile whip of a forked tail, black and scaled unlike the rest of her light brown flesh.

Ah, and one mustn't forget the third eye; but more on that later.

This is all of course assuming one of two things.
First would be that she chooses to show her true form- it is of course possible that she has chosen to appear, for some purpose, with only two arms and no tail. In such cases they are still there of course, just wrapped tight to her back and veiled in illusion.

The other would be that she is visible at all, or entirely- in places where the Warp, the Phase, the Shift- all such things are dampened, impossible- so too does she become less able to exist, at least as a visible, physical entity. The opposite can be true as well- in places where there is an overwhelming otherworldly or interdimensional presence, Khay may find it difficult to keep herself bound to the physical realm.

You see her stand there
You know her Physical looks
But what does she bear?

Khay clothes herself invariably in ankle length robes- open on the sides of the skirts to allow for easier movement- that range in colour from dark blues to bright reds, and tend towards kaleidoscopic patterns. For storage, she will usually keep several pouches and satchels bound by belts, around her waist and legs. She rarely has footwear or gloves or the like, unless she's going to some special function which demands the respect.

Around her head she wears a bandanna, much more uniform in appearance than the rest of her wardrobe- while the colour always matches, the pattern is simple, archaic, and bearing the symbol of an eye in the middle, over her forehead. Sometimes she wears jewelry- but of course this is tactically unsound, when it matters.

While she has several baubles and trinkets on her- she would consider herself a collector of interesting things- her armament is the most impressive and visible, provided she has not rendered it invisible.

- Chainsword of Mnirok: The most "conventional" weapon of Khay's arsenal, it is a motor operated weapon with a series of chain-bound, razor sharp teeth capable of rending through flesh, bone, and some armours with relative ease.

- Anira, The Flaying One: This simple looking straight blade holds many secrets, including a minor Demon of its own. Principle among its capabilities are that it is in fact also a Power sword- and thus is capable of operating as such, slashing through most materials by way of molecularly altering their hardness as it passes through.
Anira, as the Demon is called, can project a point defense shield- capable of blocking most projectiles and some forms of psionic projection. It can also enhance the blade's natural capabilities, as well as fire a projectile- but all of these things sap its energies, meaning that only so many uses can be achieved before the Demon must rest.

- The Cannon: Usually held in her lower two arms, The Cannon is a large rifle which fires rocket propelled, explosive-tipped projectiles. While not the actual size and damage of, say, an armoured tank's cannon, it is nevertheless quite effective at dealing with most threats, up to lightly armoured vehicles, at a range of up to a three hundred feet (variably accurate based on whether or not Khay is aiming well, of course.)

Body and weapons
Yet more, in her arsenal
What lurks in her mind?

To say Khay is a dangerous being even disarmed would be to severely underestimate her; Better to say that Khay augments her mind with physical accoutrements.
Khay is what one would call a Psion, Psyker, or Sorcerer. She uses several abilities that can be used for combat, or other purposes at times. Principle among them are the following;

- Teleportation. A signature ability of hers, it is often accompanied by a Vwoomp of some kind and a cloud of coloured smoke (when leaving.) This is interdimensional in nature, allowing transit between planes.

- Projectile Halting. A reactive ability, Khay can stop solid projectiles, up to the size of cannon shells, and numbering to about a score at a time. Of course, this can always fail, such is the fickle sensibility of the powers she serves.

- Conventional Forcefield. 'Conventional' in this case meaning 'Omni-effective.' This works in the same way as Projectile Halt, but is overall less effective and less reliable.

- Body veil. There are occasions- such as in the face of those who might particularly despise demonic or warp entities- where appearing as a toothy woman with four arms and a tail is surprisingly conspicuous. As a result, Khay has learned how to hide her second set of arms and her tail, alter her teeth, and make other such minor modifications to how she is perceived- rendering them invisible, if still perfectly able to be felt. Of course, touching an errant tail breaks the illusion immediately.
Khay will usually be in this muted form when first entering an unfamiliar area... just in case.

- Shapeshifting. While not so much an 'active' ability, it happens to be that when Khay transfers from one dimension to another, sometimes her actual dimensions change- most commonly only in an increase or decrease in size. Effectively, she has to teleport in order to change size (by transporting herself to a different dimension outside the physical plane, effectively), and then reappearing- in the same spot as she wishes, if that is possible at the time (and if she doesn't miss.)
The other way in which she can shapeshift is to take on her more proper Demonic appearance, which is... more or less limited to talons and clawed feet. Contrary to popular belief, she does not have a 'snout.'
As of yet, she has not bothered- or been capable perhaps- of altering her appearance in other ways.

- Mental lightning strike. The one ability Khay usually exhibits when removing her headband, and revealing her third eye. To the outsider, it appears as if Khay is simply looking at her target with her third eye, and shooting a bolt of powerful, psionic bio-lightning at them, often with painful- if not deadly- results. In fact this is precisely what is happening.

- Mind Reading/Altering. This is a tricky one; effectively speaking, Khay cannot read minds. Technically speaking however, Khay is able to enter minds, if she is given enough purchase to do so. Being an entity of alternate dimensions, one of those dimensions to which she has access happens to be the realm of the subconscious.
Basically, if someone is willing enough to trust her, then they may just be willing enough- subconsciously- to allow her to read and change their thoughts.

- Psionic Ventriloquism. The official name of what Khay does, which is basically throwing her voice wherever she wishes to with her mind. It might be said that this is in fact her only means of communicating, and that she moves her mouth to mimic it. Whatever the truth, she can also selectively allow certain people to hear her words (or selectively deny others from hearing them) when she so wishes, and if she's paying close enough attention to do so.

You know her powers
(Of course, provided she shows)
But how does she think?

Khay T'Uun is a curious creature by nature. She will often seek to make friends with others, although her true intentions behind each friendship are not entirely out in the open.

It can be said that she is a seeker of power; being what she is, she is always on the look out for fascinating artefacts, powerful individuals, and ancient legends. Khay may not always be up front and honest with what she wants or why she is in a place- in fact it's almost a guarantee that she will work in a way to not be honest whenever possible- but she seldom means to harm anyone, necessarily. She is also highly adverse to being harmed herself, especially if such harm has the potential of sending her back from whence she came- an impermanent situation to be sure, but never a pleasant one.

Khay tends to have a few different attitudes; Forward, Evasive, and Curious being principle among them.
When Khay is being forward, she will be much more direct about what she wants. She usually isn't going to be so forward unless she has a very obvious situational advantage, or feels owed enough that she can do so without feeling at risk.

Her Evasive personality is the second most common; after all, she is usually outgunned and dealing with creatures that, at least theoretically, are more powerful than her. It may be said that this is just a front, but either way Khay becomes very dodgy and tends to avoid giving direct answers to questions, instead opting for whatever she thinks might make the other party (or parties) happiest, or busy with one another.

Khay is very curious, however. She very much enjoys learning about others, so much so that she is willing to travel with, assist, or otherwise stick around with anyone she wants to learn about for very extensive periods of time- lifetimes, in some cases. Often this is accompanied by frequent questions, and, occasionally, offers.

At last you know Her
But her past is in shadow
What Perils await?

Being an entity of the Beyond, it is a matter of fact that Khay, sometimes, loses control of the less solid aspects she commands.

On occasion- hopefully uncommon- Khay may incidentally summon less popular effects from using her psionic abilities. These range from fairly simple and harmless things, such as a chilly breeze or distant screams on the wind, to less good like shattering glass in a radius or causing a burst of lightning to strike her (and those nearby), to the absolute worst; damaging the barriers between worlds, summoning unbound Demons, or worse.

So begins...

In one corner of the room, a brief ripple in time and space permits the passage of an individual- a short, young looking woman steps forth. Strange garments, a flowing, dark red robe mingled with traceries of blue, and a matching headband wrapped around her forehead.

Aside from this, she seems to be... reasonably normal, outside her mode of entry. For the time being, at least. Eyes of orange scour the landscape of the bar, a curious smile testing the ends of her lip.

Norrington elbowed the other feline, which was awkward because of a general lack of elbows between the pair. "You don't need a reason. You should do what I say because I'm your father."
"Fuck you," was Bo's crass and immediate response.
"Oh well in that case, I outrank you and you have to do what I say."
Bo rolled her eyes and glanced around the bar, spotting one other person. With a sick feeling in her stomach she dropped from the barstool to all fours and loped across the floor towards Khay, slowing as she neared.

Khay T'Uun looks down at the approaching feline with widening eyes. "Oooh," she says, perhaps oblivious to the previous conversation.

"Well hello, curious little thing!" She offers a hand in greeting, assuming that- on account of being clothed- it was sentient enough to register such a gesture. "Who might you be?"

Bo Jangles was more than a little uncomfortable with this entire situation. It reeked of a setup. Norrington was always pulling this shit. But he insisted. Bo propped herself up on her hind legs with a wobble, one paw resting on the furniture nearest Khay. And yes, the feline was clothed in her usual colourful dress with a black belt around her center to give her body a feminine form that she otherwise didn't have.

She smiled briefly, forced onto her face, then exhaled. Her right paw suddenly raised up and to the side of her head, then came swiping down, claws extended for Kay's face. She felt bad for Khay. Innocent bystander. She felt more bad for herself. Cats were no good in a street brawl with humans, especially when Bo was only four feet.

As it happened for the moment, Khay was standing about five-foot-six, and so had a good advantage size wise, and perhaps may have been able to dodge the blow.

This does not happen, however; the claws rake across the soft-seeming features of Khay's face, causing an instant reaction of pain and a shout of shock. It also caused the illusion over Khay's extra bits to fail.

Tottering backwards away from the strike, Khay raises her arms to defend her face from a second strike- while the other two, which have appeared at her torso, reach out defensively to ward her more exposed midsection- around which the belt is now adorned by a colourful selection of devices, three of which seem to be obviously weapons.

"Yow," she eventually cries out. "I didn't know this was Khornate territory, or is that just how you say hello?" Rubbing her face, bleeding openly on her fingers, Khay fixes an angry eye on Bo.

Bo's eyes went wide. She had been trained to recognize immediate danger, and the fact this person hadn't thrown a punch back and was reaching for a weapon meant they were probably trained to handle an attack. Fur that had remained flat until that moment suddenly rose on all exposed surfaces of Bo, most notably her head and neck suddenly fluffed up. Norrinton what were you up to...

"You know what the hell that was for and don't pretend you don't!" she said, taking a calculated (albeit unsteady) step forward to close the distance so those arms wouldn't be able to draw or swing. She would almost be chest to chest with Khay, neck craning to look up at the woman's face. Her paw reached out to shove her in the shoulder, like a drunk patron might, but her head hadn't quick clicked onto how many arms were exactly attached to the other.

The adrenaline was pumping in her body and she was losing focus with her rising fear.

Khay T'Uun stares balefully at the cat. Then, a smile slowly mounts on her face as she taps back a couple paces from the knock. _This knows us?_ That was both a grim portent and a pleasant surprise, depending.

Definitely not pleased with the method of welcome, however.

"I make friends," Khay replies softly, revealing a wide grin full of sharp looking teeth, pointed like a row of spikes. As if this were not threat enough, a Vwoompf sound sees all four of Khay's hands, and her unshod feet, now fancying a set of long claws.

"So I return the favour!"

Khay launches forward briefly, doing two cross-wise strikes, as if moving to gut the feline's throat. This was not meant to connect, but more to off-balance, following up with a solid sideways kick to the knee.

Bo Jangles didn't know what was going on anymore, but she knew she had the fight Norrington wanted. She hoped that was enough. Fortunately being a cat meant she had a spine that could contort much more smoothly than that of a humans, and as the claws went for her throat she arched backwards with a kick of her hindlegs. If she had her hands on her she would've gone for a more typically gymnastic approach of a backwards flip, but without them she was forced to spin as she fell, landing on all fours with a thump.

Unfortunately, that didn't take her anywhere from the kick and her hindlegs flungs to the side from the force, all but spinning the very light feline sideways. Dammit dammit dammit!

Khay T'Uun pursues, teeth exposed by a rictus grin. "What is the matter," she asks, tilting her head ever so slightly. "Do you want my blood? You can have some..." she offers, softly, teasing. To prove this, she runs a claw through the blood on her face and holds it out.

Of course, one does not simply make an _offer_ of blood without really pushing the point home. Closing the distance with a burst of speed, Khay jabs at the cat's back with the blood-bearing claw.

Bo Jangles turned her head around towards Khay with a near-manic look of a cat in panic. Her spine contorted again as her upper body spun in a desperate attempt to handle the claw. Unfortunate fact of the matter for Bo was she wasn't in a position to avoid getting skewered. Still she was pretty sure it would be non-fatal. Not immediately, at least. Best case scenario it missed her spin and organs and she could survive long enough to seek medical help herself. Worst case Norrington would have to bail her out and she would be in rehab for literal months with permanent spinal damage.

Weighing up these two outcomes, she abandoned her first plan and suddenly fizzled out of existence. It wasn't the kind of immediate fizzling of a teleport, but a stranger thing of her body turning into a bluish mist that harmlessly wafted through the claw.

Of course no sooner had it happened did a metal lighter get slammed on the bar counter by Norrington who suddenly and loudly, "FAIL!" without turning, though he didn't sound angry, more unimpressed.

Khay T'Uun reels back her claw when her target suddenly disperses into a blue mist. "Hah! Two can play at this game!"

Ffvmmp. Abruptly, Khay, too, disappears- in a cloud of purple smoke. Of course, in Khay's mind, she was now hunting an interdimensional being in her own turf, but whatever the actual case, she didn't need bystanders alerting her to missed hits.

Norrington gave a start. Bo going mist, that was expected, if not predictable. The other person suddenly... Gone? Now that was pretty fantastic. "Uh, hey, lady? If you're still here..." Norrington said as he turned about to stare at the bar, "Can you reappear and not kill my daughter? She's eighteen and drunk and doesn't know where she is right now. Or something."

The bluish mists hadn't dispersed. In fact, if anything, it appeared to be gathering, with small swishing movements leading it over to Norrington and pooling at his feet.

Silence. For all of three or four seconds.

Vshhoump.

So appears again Khay, this time closely adjacent to Norrington. And, as with her first appearance, sporting only two arms and a rather curious expression.

"I can agree to this," she replies, rubbing a normal, fleshy human finger over the deep cut in her face. "Though I do believe there should be blood... for blood... you know?" Quirking a brow, she offers her hand, mimicking her initial offer towards Bo.

Norrington nodded. "Yeah, you heard the lady, show up Bo."

The mist swirled to the side of Norrington until it was Bo's full height and slowly became cat once more. "She's not getting any of my-" she started to say to Norrington, but his claws already raked down her arm. "OW!" she yowled, and then spat a hiss at him with ears folded back.

Norrington ignored her, pushing the arm up so that Khay could look at it. "That enough?" he asked, "I mean, I could claw more but it takes forever for fur to grow back, and teenage girls care so much about their looks, y'know? I wouldn't be a good dad if I clawed her anymore than that."

Khay T'Uun offers a smile to Norrington, all teeth and good will, and steps around to examine the wound with a studied eye.

"Mm, of course," she replies. "Parenting is all about punishment in degrees, I hear." With a nod, she seems satisfied, and hovers her bloodied finger over the wound. "May I?" A look to Norrington, then to Bo.

Norrington stared at the wound, then at Khay. If it was him, no, not a chance. People carried diseases in their blood. Not only that, but he was pretty sure that's how you summoned demons and did voodoo. But since it was Bo... "Yeah, go ahead."

Bo was glaring at the pair of them now, feeling downright hateful. Her ears twitched but remained flat and her claws had extended from her paw, but she remained still. There was going to be hell to pay for this.

With a quirked brow, Khay looks between the two of them. Of course there were layers of intrigue between them, and a look could tell only so much.

Bo did not seem to be so interested in this little exchange... but perhaps her mind would be changed in the future, with promises of power and freedom- and here was the first step. Khay smiles widely to herself. I am such a helper, she tells herself.

Then she rubs her blood all over the open wound on Bo's arm, and, now with a pleasant mingling of her own and Bo's blood, she rubs it back over her cuts, with nary a wince.

"So," she starts, conversationally while doing all this. "Are you a family of interdimensional sentient cats?"

Norrington stared on in horror. His jaw slowly opened until he looked like a moray eel, staring in disgust as the blood was mixed. He was going to give Bo a serious talking to about hygiene after this. "We are exactly the thing you just said," he answered, as it was pretty much all there was to them. Oh sure there was racial history, but it was all but irrelevant.

"I honestly after no idea what you are though."

The moment Norrington finally released Bo her arm snapped down to her side, wiping the blood on her clothes, then brought to her tongue to try and clean up the shallow wound.

Khay T'Uun watches Bo clean her wound for a moment and takes this as a positive sign. A forked tongue slithers between her sharp teeth and wraps around her finger, soaking up the blood. Strangly this does not seem to inhibit her ability to speak and enunciate properly.

"I am Khay," she replies. "I am an interdimensional sentient non-cat." Magenta eyes are fixed on Bo, at this point. "I like to make friends."

Norrington stared at Khay for several moments, then nodded slowly as if he understood. "Nice. I am Norrington and this is Bo. I honestly would love to keep this conversation going because it is the most surreal thing I think I've encountered since..." He tilted his head down in thought. "Well since ever. But Bo's gotta go to the vets now for unrelated blood tests."

Bo's shoulders sagged. Partly because she knew why and partly because she knew he literally meant a vet. "I'll be watching you," she suddenly interjected into the adults conversation, tone threatening.

Khay T'Uun raises her brows at Bo, releasing her finger and sucking the tongue back into her mouth. Which spreads into a wide grin. "Oh... and I, you. Bo."

"You may call me Khay T'Uun," Khay says, to Bo- words which would be unheard to Norrington. "And you may call on me if ever you need... assistance! Or friendship." That smile widens, and she steps away from the bar.

Then to both of them, she continues. "I think I will like this place. I will enjoy bringing surreality to your lives!" It was not perhaps meant as a threat, but by God did it maybe sound like one.

Norrington grinned. He had to tell the guys about this. Oh better yet, he needed to somehow orchestrate the events that would bring about Kyle and her having a blind date. "You betcha. See you around," Norrington said with a friendly grin, paws placed on Bo's shoulder to push her for the door.

Bo jerked her shoulder away, dropping to all fours to limp dramatically for the door, followed by her father.

The chilly silence of the night was broken by the unnatural sound, and the most imperceptible shimmer of golden purple light.

Stepping out from her position next to a tree, Khay wandered into the graveyard; barefoot, clothed in robes and smiling around, for all intensive purposes she looked like a lost young woman, oblivious to her surroundings.

This could not be farther from the truth, of course. Khay was here for a very specific purpose, a very distinct need. There was Power near, someone somewhere had done something to draw her eye; and she intended to make friends.

Padding her way between the tombstones and glancing her hands over the masonry, Khay hummed a soft tune to herself, quietly asserting her presence in the real world and subtly drawing attention to herself. Mist crept from the earth, drifting over the new moon and tantalizingly revealing the glimmer of dew on flowers recently left for the dead.

An unpleasant taint was on the air. Somewhere, not far, something grim was afoot; and it brought the lightest of smiles to Khay's face. Outwardly she projected the very image of innocence and poor awareness... after all, it often helped when making friends to seem like you needed help. People loved helping the weak! But of course, Khay was prepared for less welcome company- in hidden ways.

#, as written by Saken
A battle was brewing a few scant miles from the graveyard that Khay was in, and although most of the attention was focused there, a small slip of a girl had managed to slip away. Well, she appeared to be small, and a girl. In reality it was the Zombie Queen, yet the necromancy that had raised her temporarily smoothed and filled out rotting flesh, so she appeared to be unharmed.

She was swaying, in the middle of the graveyard, not seeming to care that she was out in the open, her lips parted, a strange humming slipping from her throat. Voices buzzed within her head, screaming at her, in agony and pain and her mind was clouded, she hardly noticed the mist rolling in around her feet, but somehow she managed to jerk her head and lock dead black eyes on the woman who was coming forward.

There was a far-away look in those eyes, the only thing that betrayed her status as not alive, because she was – somehow- in control of the dead a few miles away. The dead who had rose, and where being attacked, for no reason! It was not as if they had done anything besides stand there, atop their graves, gaping at the fact that they were alive – or close to it.

The distant humming came to Khay's ears like a siren call; she tilted her head to listen, and then affixed her eyes on those of the undead creature that was wandering aimlessly.

A forked, serpentine tongue flitted out to lick Khay's lips. This small creature, confused and lost though it appeared, was the font or focus of immense power. That made her quite charming to Khay, even if it wasn't something the little thing even recognized it had yet. But that's what entities such as Khay were for.

She was tall, sure footed, and quick to move towards the young-looking girl, an expression of calm hospitality on her face and her lips parted just enough to reveal a row of jagged teeth. "Hello," she greets quietly, her voice being eaten by the surrounding silence; it was soft, but layered with an otherworldly sort of attribute, as if it were both not here and everywhere at the same time.

"You look lost... are you alright?" As she spoke, Khay drooped her eyelids and reached out with her mind- she wouldn't try to pry into the roiling mind of the recently risen, but it would help her get a feel for the energies around her- and what she might want, what she might need, and ultimately what she might do well to understand.
