"Keep trying, just see if you can get through."

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by HitoriRaven

Description

Image

Aside from his blue hair, Kiet, 23 years old, has no special traits. He's a bit short, 5'6, and has hazel brown eyes. Kiet works out daily for his training, but otherwise is not special in any other way. He might be a bit better looking than your average joe, but that's about it. As for clothes, he just wears whatever's in his drawers, not really one for fashion. He does always wear his trademark gray wraps on his feet and hands.

Personality

Kiet is a bit stoic, rarely showing expression in large amounts. However, he does get flustered when talking to attractive women - this is completely unintentionally. He enjoys jokes, but isn't really one for telling them and the like. He also enjoys talking to people, and is actually a nice person when you get past the unmoving/awkward exterior. Kiet is also very studious, while he may not be quickest to pick up new things, he puts a lot of concentration and manages to get the job done anyway. The one main trait that he is proud of is his honor. Kiet considers himself a gentleman; he believes in being respectful to both men and women. His personal code also dictates that he give the first move to the other person in a fight, and he will not hit a person weaker than him. Finally, his personal belief is that of peace and resolving a conflict without the use of violence.

Equipment

The only things Kiet has are his fists, elbows, knees, legs and wraps. He also carries a small knapsack with some basic essentials, such as money, food, water and some hygiene supplies.

Special talents - Muay Thai, for 15 years, which equates him to about master level.

Extreme endurance - his personal code means that he takes a lot more than he dishes out. Don't be fooled, however, because his blows aren't something to scoff at. This also follows Kiet's code - if he can end a fight faster, this is also better. Essentially, his body is toughened to take hard hits. Swords and the like require a lot of force to cut through his skin and muscle, and bullets do not penetrate very far, lower caliber will even deflect off at times.

History

Kiet was born in Germany, but early on, his parents moved to Thailand. There, they were killed when he 5, in a car accident. A family friend, whom they had been staying with, took him in. Kiet's name was given to him at this time; he kept his last name though. When he was told what it meant - honor - Kiet promised to uphold his namesake. This friend turned out to own a Muay Thai gym, where Kiet was raised for the majority of his life. There, he developed his personal code - he was beaten up often. This was because, having seen the effects of violence when he was little, he refused to use it to win a battle, relying on his endurance and a strong finisher. When he was 20, he bowed to his master, family friend and caretaker, and declared that he was going on a journey to improve himself. He was properly given wraps, which used to belong to his master, some money for his travels and the small knapsack that he still carries today. Since then, he has traveled all over the world in search of new things to learn.

So begins...

Kiet Geldud walked into the bar for the first time. He had heard if there was a place to get a drink, it would be here. He noticed a man with a metal leg who seemed to be trying stir something up. Kiet wasn't one for commotion, so he walked past the man and sat down at a barstool, but kept an ear out in case he could pick up anything interesting. "Aschen, huh? Sounds familiar..." he muttered to himself.

Kiet listened to the small rally from down the back, as he overheard Duncan and his offer. He walked down the length of the bar table, and attempted a small grin, which was a lot of emotion for him. "Evening there, I'm Kiet. I heard you from down over there, and I was wondering if you could spread me some cheer?" He raised the small knapsack he was carrying. "I don't mean to mooch, but hey, still need to buy a room, right?" He shook the bag, which clinked a bit, and sat down near the small group that had assembled.

Kiet gave a small bow to Duncan. "Sorry, I believe I haven't properly introduced myself. I'm Kiet Geldud. I'm a traveler, new in town." He watched the nearby Leo and Jax before turning back to the man. "As for the drink, you can order whatever you'd like for me. After all, it's your hospitality." Kiet made himself comfortable in his seat as he faced the rest of the people in the bar. He vaguely felt a demonic intent, but couldn't put his finger on it. Two people sitting at a table also caught his eye. One was Lukas, and the other was Doree.

Kiet started hearing the voices in the bar - not quite human - and his years of training told him something was going to happen. He wasn't quite sure what yet. But, the problem at hand took priority. He smoothly slipped himself in between the three strangers. "Come now, everyone. I'm sure we can resolve this peacefully?" He nodded at Leo. "Perhaps you should return whatever you took to the lady." He looked back to the two gunslingers. "And perhaps both of you would put your guns away?"

Kiet Geldud walked down from the second floor of the bar, where he'd stayed the night. He saw Jax enter the bar, and remembered the night before. Kiet wasn't very good with women, but he figured he should apologize to her and introduce himself. He brushed some of his blue hair back, clenched and released his gray-wrapped fists and tried as smoothly as possible to walk up to the intimidating woman. "Hello there, Miss. I think we got on the wrong foot last night. I'm Kiet, and I apologize for intruding on your business; I just wanted to resolve the conflict peacefully. Can I buy you a drink?" Kiet was amazed that he managed to get through that without blushing or stuttering, but kept his fairly flat face as he waited for her response.

Kiet was still a bit worried, but he nodded to what he assumed to be her apology. Unfortunately, at this point, his lack of experience with women kicked in. He carefully took a seat next to her and tried to casually make some small talk. "S-s-so, what are you doing in this part of town, M-miss..I d-didn't catch your n-n-name..?" He mentally bashed himself for failing with talking to the opposite gender. Kiet figured he would at least partially cover up his mistake by ordering a gin and tonic after his mess of a question.

Kiet grimaced a bit at Jax's inquiry. "W-w-well..I was raised in a-a-a dojo with no w-w-women. S-s-so I unintentionally stutter when t-t-talking to them. And to a-a-answer your q-q-question, n-no, I-I'm not. I'm j-just a traveler." He was still irked at his disability, but gave up trying to hide it. Instead, when his gin and tonic arrived, he quickly downed it in one gulp and ordered another one. Now, glancing back at Jax, he followed her gaze over to Lorenzo who was sitting further down. The man looked to be in serious conversation with another person, when a third manjoined them. Kiet debated calling them over to offer to buy them a drink, but decided against it.

Kiet's eyes widened a bit as he blurted, "Hell no!" He frowned a bit. "I-I mean, n-n-no problem with p-p-people who are...b-but I'm most definitely n-not. I-I just g-g-get tripped u-up when talking to w-w-women. E-e-especially o-ones such a-as y-y-y-yourself." He blushed a bit, but made an effort to look away and took a sip from his newly ordered gin.

Kiet blushed more, muttering, "I guess..." He downed the rest of his second gin and tonic as John shot his pistol into the table. Kiet jumped up a bit from his stool and dropped his glass on the ground, shattering it. "S-sorry, I'll clean that up." He nodded to the bartender, but his attention was directed to the commotion at the nearby table.

After Scott, the mysterious man had left, Kiet cleaned up the glass he had dropped. He noticed Lorenzo still at his table, and decided to join the man, casually plunking himself down in the seat John had been in. He nodded to the man. "Hey there, I'm Kiet. It looked like you could use some company, but if I'm wrong, please tell me otherwise." Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed Doree but tried to keep looking at Lorenzo.

"I'm just a traveler, passing by." At this point, he tracked Lorenzo's gaze to Doree, and watched as she talked with John. "I saw you talking with that man over there. He a friend of yours?"

Kiet tilted his head in understanding. "So what is your job, if you don't mind my asking?"

Kiet grimaced a bit. "I see. I don't approve of using violence to resolve problems, but your morals are your own. Whatever you have to do, eh? I understand." He continued to watch John and Doree, since there didn't seem to be much else to do.

Out of politeness, Kiet turned to Lorenzo, but he raised an eyebrow. "Well, I know you have a .45 in your boot. Are you implying something, or is it just a question of curiosity?"

"I see." Kiet noticed Lorenzo's motion, but chose to ignore it. He turned his head to glance at the man who had shouted so loudly. "Wonder what his problem is."

As Erleia walked up to Finch, Kiet turned back to Lorenzo. "Bad hair day, huh? I guess that explains it, though I've never heard anyone yell about it." He figured now would be a good time to try to figure out what Lorenzo had reached for earlier. "So, friend. Did you lose something in those pockets?"

Kiet was confused by the man's answer, but he obviously didn't want to give any hints. Kiet dropped the point, deciding that he shouldn't press this man, and simply nodded. "Alright then. So, did you come here looking for a job?"

Kiet Geldud walked down from the hotel of the bar. It wasn't too busy in Gambit's just yet; there were only a few people sitting at the tables. He noticed a girl who looked akin to a gypsy talking to a man, who seemed strange, but Kiet couldn't quite place his finger on why..As he slowly moved for a stool at the bar, he saw a girl with cat-like features asleep on a table. He sighed a bit, knowing he should wake her up, but also knowing that this was going to be awkward. Kiet re-shouldered his knapsack, clenched and released his gray wrapped fist, and shook the girl. "E-excuse m-m-me, Miss..y-y-you shouldn't s-s-sleep in here. I-i-it's dangerous..." He mentally slapped himself. Why couldn't he talk to women?

Kiet jumped back a bit, surprised, when the cat-girl sprang up and glared at him. Thankfully, she seemed to notice that he was not trying to hurt her. "Y-y-yeah, i-it's fine, s-seems to happen here m-m-more than it should. B-but you should l-l-look into g-g-getting a r-room when you p-plan on sleeping, yes?" The corners of his mouth turned up a bit, which constituted a smile for him. When she smiled at him, he blushed a bit, but he sat down and offered his hand. "I-I'm K-Kiet. W-what's y-your name, Miss?"
