Kohrii

The awkward, hypocritical starship navigator who can't resist helping people. She is viewed as vain, loud, and generally annoying, but the woman is the best damned NavPol Altas has to date.

Description

Kohrii, named by her irrational parents after the star system, is a lovely woman in aesthetics. Her weight is one-hundred and thirty-four standards (lbs), while standing at five-feet, seven-inches. The Navigation Pilot always wears her hair in this huge and ridiculous formation of several inter-connecting braids directly settled atop the crown of her head. It could be comparable to some sort of crown, or pompous hat. Her lightly blond colored hair fits in well with her pale, Altan skin, just as the other crew members aboard the large ship, Altas XI (a long-range Dimensional Outer-System Fortress). Unlike Casper, and Monika though, the navigation pilot's jump suit is a deep red; a more powerful color and which signals her rank over the other two. Being part of the ASF (Altan Star Fleet), is the highest honor one can hold. People just wonder how it is that Kohrii got there.

Kohrii suffers from chronic Panic Disorder. A panic attack is a sudden episode of intense fear that develops for no apparent reason and that triggers severe physical reactions. Panic attacks can be very frightening. When panic attacks occur, she sometimes thinks she's losing control, having a heart attack or even dying. There is always that constant and creeping fear in Kohrii, but she does all she can to hide it from everyone. Perhaps even her overbearing, and astounding personality is a cover for what really lurks in the depths of the woman? Her symptoms of having a panic attack usually come on within ten minutes before it strikes. Those include:

•Chest pain or discomfort
•Dizziness or faintness
•Fear of dying
•Fear of losing control
•Feeling of choking
•Feelings of detachment
•Feelings of unreality
•Nausea or upset stomach
•Numbness or tingling
•Palpitations or pounding heart
•Sensation of shortness of breath
•Sweating, chills, or hot flashes
•Trembling or shaking

Personality

Kohrii in short, is an addict to amphetamines. She is unsure of how it started or why, but someone had told her once that they would help with the naturally occurring panic attacks. Such episodes are usually experienced once in someone's lifetime, but since Kohrii became addicted, they happen more than it should. That overwhelming terror and grasping, imprisoning fear chokes the woman and as to cover her fear, she acts out in ways that are quite odd. Kohrii is a very loud, and head-strong personality, always far too happy and insistent on attention from anyone or even everyone in the room, or area.

If not for the addiction to amphetamines, Kohrii would actually be a rather nice person, and pleasant to be around. Even shy, perhaps, but this is not her for the time being. She shall continue on with her need of amphetamines until someone comes along to help her see the fault in needing to take those pills. And if not, then she is set to die even before Monika, if the seizures don't get to her first. Or maybe even the lack of sleep will get to her, it being the cause of most of her hallucinations. Being so mentally unstable now, Kohrii is being held back from her duties as a NavPol, or Navigation Pilot. The ASF (Altan Star Fleet) has noticed her rapid change and Kohrii is no longer allowed even near the NavDeck. She looms around Gambit's Bar most times now in order to pass all her free time.

Equipment

•ComDev
•NavDev
•Purse
•Medications that include: alprazolam and several types of amphetamines.

History

2063, America is no longer a world power yet still struggling to regain what has been lost for fifty years now. China has overtaken the Earth as the new super power; military, economically, and politically. Nuclear weapons are being mass forged in order to maintain this position over the world, while American and European scientists of Specialized Genetics, Metova Corporation are secretly meeting in the wastelands of the freezing Arctic in order to develop a genetically selective biological virus. They are successful after twenty years of mutating and bending the very laws of creation, in order to preserve the pride they all once had as Super Nations. The laboratory is infiltrated however, by Chinese spies, and the virus is incomplete before it is apprehended. To punish European and American states and provinces, the Chinese drop four nuclear weapons in order to maintain their worldly position. Crops die, the sky darkens with ash, people begin to die from radiation poisoning. The world as they knew it then was dying and it seemed as if the end was near, but not because of the nuclear fallout. Four years after the Chinese had taken the EX-5249 virus, uncompleted and still in the testing stages, they attempted to warp it from their own genetics to the other races.

God had become Human

In a laboratory spill, the virus was unleashed, allowing it to spread rapidly. The Chinese were foolish enough to believe that only their bloodline would be immune to the EX-5249 virus. They were wrong. They were the first to die the slow and gruesome, painful, decay that the virus exacted on its victims. Soon enough the entire Asian Nation was destroyed, while EX-5249 crept towards the European Nations. With the world in complete chaos, Australia had closed it borders indefinitely, always remaining a neutral party to all wars since the last and final Afghanistan War (they had finally developed a suitable army and had made treaty with America to tip the scale). White, Black, Yellow, Reds ... no matter the skin color, they all began to fall to EX-5249, yet a few handful of scientists and military officials, along with a good portion of the more "reputable" civilians, who had survived the previous fallout, were allowed in the isolated island of Australia. There ships were taken to Earth's moon where a secret and underground station had been built for such an Apocalypse by surprisingly, the Canadians.

Project Altas was originally called Project Atlas, after the Greek Mythological God who carried the World upon his back, but after the mispronunciation of it during a HoloCom conference by Dr. Arostimi Tcheva of AH Global Cybernetics, induced the change to Altas. While under the protection and security that the Moon's surface had to offer, another mass ship was being built, Altas in order to find a new Earth to begin life over and anew. It took two hundred years in order to complete the first stage of the project; building the ship. Another twenty was needed in order to properly stock it with the necessary survival means along with genetic codes and embryos to transport animals' and bacterial DNA to the new earth. And while the Earth's crust turned brown and then black beneath its only natural satellite, Luna, the descendants of those that had survived two hundred and twenty years ago, fled into Outer Space in order to seek out a new home.

Triton, New Earth was found fourteen generations later tucked away in the very back of the Kohrii system, so very far away from human's original home. Native Flora and Fauna flourished without intelligent life upon the lush and beautiful blue planet. Where Earth was green, Triton was blue, thus its namesake from Poseidon's famous three-pronged pike; the prongs representing the three continents it held. It was Eden, and Paradise found; Utopia finally grasped. Altas, landed upon the welcoming bosom of Triton and settled in easily to make colonies that held no prejudice nor hate for color of skin or ethnic backgrounds of the people. In two generations, there would only be one race: Altan. They prospered and lived in total, balanced peace after learning a great lesson from the intense history education received on the Altas.

However, Forty-Two Earth years later (Twenty-Two Triton years), a lurking parasite had finally reared up to show its terrifying face. Sleepers, it was named as the foreign and advanced biological make up of these bacterial like creatures struck without being noticed. Those that were afflicted and deemed as suitable host bodies by Sleepers did not know they were invaded and captured by the entity. It gave more reason and cause to their name. Altans who succumbed to the control of Sleepers murdered, raped, and committed suicide without a single notice. Mother, Child, Husband, it did not matter who was chosen by the alien, they would indulge in these horrible crimes, shattering the once-perfect Utopia. A portion of the population boarded Altas XI, and left Triton behind, not wanting to fall victim and be mercilessly tortured by watching all they cared for be ripped to shreds before their very innocent eyes.

They made way back to the Sol System and found Terra.

So begins...

"Ooh single. We should go out on a date sometime. But don't tell Casper. He'll get mighty jealous even though he pretends to not like me. It's all a silly game he likes to play I think. The man is crazy. You know... I don't know why I need annaphemtimines, I forget, but all I know is that if I don't take them something really really bad is going to happen."

And just as he had tapped the eye, Kohrii too couldn't resist doing it herself. Leaning over the table, using her broken hand for support, the woman reached over and attempted to tap it herself.

"What? Not in the market? That's silly, you twit. No one is not on the market when they're single." The woman tapped the eye a good five times before her wrist gave out and she went careening to the other side of the table. It was a good thing that Altans were more conservative outside of the Altas XI; wearing flight suits and not skirts. "Ahh!" A few more snaps were heard as she landed oddly in the opposite booth seat, her hand further splintering a breaking. A shriek of utter pain which would make anyone's ears hurt came next, but it wouldn't last long before the heap of the woman's body started to have a seizure, despite her current position.

The stab to her thigh wasn't felt at all, or maybe it was? Either way there was no telling from the curse of spasms that locked her body together and controlled it completely at the moment. Him holding her down was not the best of ideas as it could very easy cause Kohrii to gain more injures, like her hand which was swelling badly. It was better for him to notice how blood was seeping from between her lips, instead of why he shouldn't hold her down during the seizure.

A squeal was heard as soon as Kohrii entered the room. Why? She had just spotted a most gorgeous man, but then again, when did that not ever happen? Hands went to her cheeks, and her eyes lit up like they would in a bad anime.

Kohrii had spotted Jack Calumet.

"Oh my Stars I want you," she shouted from the far end of the bar. It'd be easy to tell whom she was speaking about to. Kohrii's eyes kept following him like some fangirl stalker.

All too soon did Jack find his personal space invaded by Kohrii. She tried her best to place a wall between the woman and him. Kohrii did not like competition.

"You have to tell me your name. I am Kohrii... remember it because you'll be shouting it out of desire later."

Oh...

Cheesy pick up lines. She was on amphetamines again.

"R-Random... girl...?"

Kohrii had gone cross-eyed as she watched him press against her forehead, giving them a few more inches.

"Just a random girl, Ben?"

Kohrii started to sniffle, and there was a dreadful frown on her face.

The woman blinked and looked up at Absinthe, still not releasing Casper from her grasp.

"You're right ignorant. He's the most satisfying man on all of the Altas. Why do you think I am so obsessive over him?"
"Stop talking about me as if I am some object!" Casper shook a fist up in the air, panting for breath.

"I don't care what you are! I am going to go with Casper now and teach him a lesson..."
Casper started to cry again as he was drug out of the bar.

Dear Stars, what did he do to deserve this?!

Kohrii sat at the bar quietly, watching her fingers as she wrung them together. What was she going to do? Her whole world was falling apart, and she only just now realized that what she was doing to herself was wrong. The woman looked a mess, poor Kohrii. Her hair wasn't pinned up like normal, and her makeup ran down her face. It almost seemed as if she had been crying recently.

When a man had asked for brandy to her right, Kohrii sniffled and wiped at her eyes before asking the bartender to make it two. Yeah, drinking might help her problems.

Kohrii didn't seem to mind that the man had moved closer to her. Being who she was, Kohrii enjoyed meeting people and even in this state, she wouldn't turn anyone away. The woman attempted to smile through all the recent tears and nodded.

"Yeah, I think I'm alright. Just got a bit upset. Name's Kohrii," she said while offering her hand in the polite gesture of introducing oneself. Even broken the girl had a pure heart. After all, it was not her fault that she was a drug addict, it had been that corrupt doctor.

Kohrii sighed after he had asked her what was wrong. She didn't know this man, and well there was no danger of gaining more wrath from Monika or Casper, or even Rhett. "It's nice to meet you, Revvy. That's a pretty cool name you have. Almost sounds Altan." Her other hand, which reached for the glass of brandy, was notably wrapped in an odd metallic cast. She had broken it even more after having a seizure. Naelle had patched her up nicely though.

"Well, let's just say that I upset a lot of people. Apparently using drugs, and then sleeping with a good friend's lover, or whatever he was, is not a good idea. I really did like him though, but that's all over now. I don't even know if I want to stay at the Altas anymore," she said before taking another good swig of the strong alcohol.

Kohrii listened to him. She actually listened to someone for once in her life. Usually the woman was up and around, bouncing from person to person, shouting at them or just creating havoc. But tonight was different, the woman was reserved and calm, but there was that underlying need to take those pills; her amphetamines. "Problems with life, yes, that would roll it all up into one bundle, Revvy," she said while toasting her next drink to him.

Once that wast taken, Kohrii set down the tumbler and sighed. "You know, its not my fault that I was addicted to drugs. I didn't even know that I was abusing them, only that I needed them and that it made me feel much happier than without them. I think I do need to get away for a little while, but I don't know where I would go... "

Kohrii shook her head in agreement and disagreement. "No, nothing's holding me here to Terra, but since we landed here on the Altas, I've had more fun in my entire life in just a few weeks than a life time on that ship. I fly it, and I used to love doing it so much, but... I rather be here than anywhere else. But I can't stay here, in Wing City. I don't think so at least. Monika, Rhett, and... and Casper come around often. I don't think I could deal with being around any of my crew mates right now. I know for a fact they don't want to be around me, especially Monika."

Kohrii sighed and gave Revvy a half smile. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to rant like that to you."

"Not really. The only place that I have seen is the inside of the Altas, and the stars as far as the mind can imagine," she said while a smile crept up on her lips. "It's not like what most people think where if you can travel through space, you can go to all the places you want to see in just one life time. It takes months and years to just get across one solar system."

Kohrii still smiled at him, feeling much better than she had before she met Revvy. Maybe it was the alcohol, or maybe it was just the fact that she was able to talk to someone that wasn't tied up in all the drama floating around the Altas now.

Kohrii was a bit surprised at how much this man could drink. She, herself, was a light weight as drinking aboard the ship was not allowed. Period. She asked him," What do you do for a living, Revvy?"

Kohrii thought about that for a moment. There alway seemed to be military or mercenary groups of people around here, then of course, the rogue fighter. So much conflict for just one city and they all seemed to congregate at one place; Gambit's. "So you're technically a mercenary right? I mean, soldier for hire is what that is, yeah? I'm sorry if I got that wrong, I'm not exact too smart on the whole military deal."

"Peace in chaos, huh? You almost sound poetic," she said to Revvy while taking another drink from her glass of brandy. She could see how he was used to the turmoil of the bar, but it was odd that he could find it peaceful. Then again, Kohrii found it peaceful while her heart raced, and her mind went to lengths that none should in her amphetamine trips.

Kohrii arched a brow at that devilish smile, finding it attractive in a sense. What was the most odd thing about Kohrii's attitude right now, was that she had seen a handsome man and didn't stake a claim over him as she would usually. She really had reached a breaking point. Her life was about to change, maybe.

"You mean taking up another profession," she asked him while removing her intense gaze from him and focusing on her glass.

Kohrii shook her head and took another drink from her glass. "But I love flying, and its my passion. I don't think I could do anything else but navigate the sky and just... I dunno, be free. That's how I feel when I fly, that I'm free from everything. It's liberating. And I don't know how I could help out a mercenary, I've only limited skills."

Kohrii smirked a bit arrogantly at the question. 'What can you fly?' "I can fly anything you want. I'm not the best NavPol this space system has seen for no reason. You give me a machine and a manual and I can tell you how to fly it backwards, upside down, and under a lady's skirt the next day."
