Kurt Bannon
Kurt seems like an ordinary human in his mid-forties, with gray hair and prominent male pattern baldness. Those in the know, however, will recognize him as a master of getting from place to place by any means necessary.

Description
Kurt's face is weathered from literally years of wandering the highs and lows of the worlds, and dresses in many layers, the most prominent being a brown cloak with an attached hood. He's tall for an old guy, though, managing a respectable five foot eight.
Personality
Kurt has an attitude of "been there, done that" when faced with most brags, because chances are he actually has. However, when it comes to a fight, he rarely holds back.
Equipment
Kurt's most prominent item is a quarterstaff, which usually finds use as a walking stick but also aids in personal defense. His most prominent gear, however, is his research equipment, being a wizard of no small stature, yet somehow he can carry it easily.
History
Growing up the adopted son of a cartographer, Kurt inherited a strong desire to fill in those areas marked as "terra incognita." His research into various spells designed for ease of travel, particularly teleportation, makes most who know of his work place him in high regard.
So begins...
Kurt Bannon's Story
"Very well. First, I'll need whatever information you've gathered on the family and what they might have done to deserve such a fate. Second, I'll need some time to obtain and prepare special reagents. Third, get me a practitioner of a local faith, one skilled in exorcisms. One can never be sure if it's that kind of curse or not."
Kurt raised his thin eyebrows. It would take quite a bit of energy for Rahal to say that many "verys" regarding necromancy. "Right. I'll need interviews with both of them. If we get lucky and whoever originally contracted the curse is still alive, we can root it out cleanly. If not, well, our job gets harder and messier with each generation removed."
"Sounds like he's better used selling magic items that are the fruit of someone else's labor. Teach the kid how to appraise shit and sniff out stuff that isn't what it seems. Leverage his talents. In the meantime, I find it difficult to believe he wasn't under some sort of compulsion after the initial exposure. Then again, if he's as dull as you claim, we can't assume he was forced into it. You were there, so I take it you know what this box was?"
"Where he got it? That will have some good clues. And the power of the blast when it was opened, that's another good bit of information. Know the enemy. If we can identify the artifact that's responsible from its description in the historical record, maybe other people have written about its curse and figured out how to lift it. To the library?" Kurt finally started sipping his drink, which had gotten a little warm by now.
Rahal nodded to Catherine as she left. "Brandon's shop is probably the best place to start." He told Kurt quietly. "I can walk us there through the planes, or you can teleport us there if I give you the location, right?" Kurt's teleportation was likely the safer option, of course, but Rahal was excellent at walking through the planes, particularly the Chaos plane which was, perhaps, all together too dangerous.
Kurt Bannon shook his head and finished his drink. "I can't get a lock unless I've been there myself or have seen it." Like another famous Kurt. "And unless there's a rampaging demon on the loose that's cutting off our route, as this city is wont to do, I see no harm in taking it slow and seeing the sights."
*White enters the bar. White, like his name, is completely white-ish grey. His lower two eyes are a light pink, and his top eye is a red coloring. He wears a traditional hylotl (Think a kimino) robe, with tan and grey coloring. Other than that, he stands at a rather short 5' 5'' Feet tall, weighing about 97 lbs. His fin styling along with his overall posture can be seen as girlish, mostly due to his fin styling. On his robe belt, is a small silver flute which has "White" indented on the side. His pure white skin is barely blemished, and soft, barely been worked look to it. If you were to look into his eyes, it would seem that he'd be looking past through you.*
...*At the mention of Demon, he glances at them for a soon moment. Its rude to stare, so he simply takes a seat at the bar.(
"Maybe next time. The only reason I never go there is because it's no use trying to draw a map of the place," Kurt reminded Rahal. Then the two were so RUDELY interrupted. "Yes. I did. What about it?" Damn, seems as if they've been delayed. "Rahal, watch for pickpockets."
..Those exists? *The feminine man said as he looked at them.* Sorry to..Include myself into your conversation, but after what I've seen as of late..Are you serious?
...I'm quite fine, thank you very much..This place has defied all the logic I've seen before in my life. It's intriguing but odd at the same time. I am Whie of the house Taim, and you are?
"Not necessarily. Look at his fins. And the lack of coloration. Perhaps he's from the deep seas. Oh, but do pardon me for not introducing myself. Kurt Bannon, scholar and author of Multiversal Wonders: A Beginner's Guide To Planeswalking. And you are?"
....I just introduced myself. And my coloring is due to my family's albino heritage if you must know.
"You look like a skeleton. I'm pretty sure we could count your ribs shirtless." Rahal glanced to Kurt and shrugged. It could be worse. Father was equally skeletal, at least, if not more so. Of course, that would be why Mother constantly tried to feed him. "I'm Rahal. Haven't authored anything. Too busy teaching stupid kids not to be half so stupid."
The setting changes from Gambit's Bar to Main Street
Kurt Bannon looked around. "Uh...Rahal? Please don't tell me you went to the chaos plane without me. I may know this street, but I don't know all these freaking apartments...oh right. Coordinates."
"Appreciate that," Kurt nodded. "You had me worried for a second. I got so caught up in the albino that I didn't quite catch the location. Let's see what this Laura has observed. Her mind being uncolored by knowledge of magic means we'll hear just the observable events, instead of what she thinks is happening. This is actually a good thing as far as research into our target."
Kurt accepted the greeting. "The pleasure is all mine. As for if I can help, well, currently I'm on a mission to gather information about the nature of his problem. The more I know, the more I can do to assist him. Let's start with what you've seen and heard, and don't leave out a single detail. Even the tiniest bit could be important." He got out his pen and notebook and got ready to transcribe.
Laura thought over what he needed a minute, and began at the beginning. "I first knew something was wrong when I got in after school like two weeks ago. The shop was open, but lights were off and no one was here. Mr. Hammerstine's apartment door was wide open too, and he never does that, but when I looked, nobody was there. Ms. Dumitrescu, that's his Aunt, told me there was some kind of an accident." The teen thought it over. "I saw a kid who looks a lot like Mr. Hammerstine with her from a distance the other day, but that's about it. Until then, we got special hours, cause I'm the only one who can come in." Ms. Dumitrescu watched sometimes, but not often, and so Laura was working long hours, longer than she should, to keep the shop going.
Rahal nodded. "His apartment still unlocked?" He never knew.
"No, but I have the key under the register." The teen gave Rahal the key, and bit her bottom lip. "Mr. Hammerstine's gonna be alright, isn't he?"
