Kvan Skyheart

My magical powers let me do what everyone in the Wind Country wants...To fly without anything but yourself.

0 · 1,934 views · located in Sol Avenue and Lady Une Drive

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Ikiros

Description

What nation are you from: Wind
Are you a King, queen, princess, prince, or commoner?: Commoner
What purpose do you hold to the roleplay?(Butler, chef, magician, royal adviser, android etc...): Mercenary Wind Mage
Character name: Kvan Skyheart
Age: 19
Gender: Male
My dreams (aspirations): To stay free from as much as I can.
My fears: Being trapped underground
My talents: I use my magic to fly without aid from wings or technology, and I'm fairly adept with a bow, as I prefer not to be in close combat.
Views on the war: It keeps me paid, which keeps me fed. As long as it goes on, I stay alive. Otherwise, I go back to stealing.
Personality: Non-chalant, but subject to change at any point. He's very much a free spirit and thinker, and grew up being taught to try not to stay too attached to anything.
Physical traits: Slender build, light blonde hair, lightly tanned skin. Average height- around 5'8". Brown eyes.
History: Kvan was born on a small island floating above a wide open plain. His entire life, his father taught him how to live with the winds that constantly blew across the wide expanse of land beneath them, and how to let it flow through his body, allowing him to float and waft with the breezes. As he aged, his father began to teach him specific spells so that he could protect himself, be it in a barfight or while off exploring the world. His abilities range from being able to keep the air around himself fresh and clean of pollutants all the way to being able to throw blasts of wind strong enough to flip cars at people. His renegade nature came about when he reached age 15, the age his father pushed him off their island. The experience taught him one of his most valued morals; never hold on, if it keeps you happy. He currently resides on a very small, two-person airship, stationed to patrol around the Wind country's capital.
Views on life: It comes and goes, just like the wind. I can't stop it, so why bother trying. I just want to have fun while I can.

My occupation is: Wind Mage/ Cutpurse
I would not like to be royal, because...: My morals would go against it. Royals have too much responsibility for my tastes. It's like doing chores...Not fun at all.

Kvan Skyheart watched the creature go before turning back to Aria. "So it would seem. So, what've you been up to lately Aria? Been doing much standing, or just been wandering around? I see that Slip must've set you down while I was sleeping, since last I remember you were on board." He chuckled softly and watched her, still staying splayed slightly on the ground.

Kvan Skyheart smiled and stood up, noticing how the wind suddenly gusted her skirt back slightly. "I wish I could say I sympathize, but I'm so partial to the skies and the air that I hardly ever touch the ground at all." To demonstrate, he stepped up into the air and balanced only a few inches above the ground.

Kvan Skyheart "If I did, it wasn't intentional. And Am I? I always just figured I was being daring." He chuckled and then moved closer to her, letting slight breezes move him through the air easily, not doing much more than floating an inch or so above the green grass.

Kvan Skyheart "And I get the feeling that you enjoy it nearly as much, if not more so. So, what would you care to do now?" He relaxed back a bit, letting several small amounts of wind brush up his back to keep him from falling to the ground. he wondered what was on her mind, but had no idea how he could tell. Her body language was so much more different than his own that he couldn't tell what she was thinking by how she acted. She could have been trying to do several thing with her physical advance.

Kvan Skyheart smiled. "Such patience." He thought for a moment himself, trying to think of something to do with her. "Well, what about where you live? I don't believe that you live just out in the open, so mind if I ask to see where you live?" He wondered just how innocent that laugh of hers was. Then again, he had been the first to kiss her, by her word.

Kvan Skyheart watched her, a little surprised. "So you just live wherever you feel like? That's impressive. I wish I could do that. I mean, I suppose that I do, technically, thanks to Slip, but nothing so easy as the way you live."

Kvan Skyheart "Why do you say that? Do you choose to live out among the world, wandering? I mean, if you ever want it, you can keep a room with me, but I'd like to know you'll use it first." He was feeling a bit antsy, somewhat wanting to pull her into his arms, somewhat wanting to sit and listen to her. Taking the middle road, he stepped closer to her while stepping back to the earth below him. He wanted to know more about her; Who was she, what did she enjoy, things of that nature.

Kvan Skyheart he hummed slightly, trying to figure out what would happen next. He stepped closer, transfixed by her eyes as they sparkled from the moonlight. "I just can't imagine what people finding you alone must've thought about your beauty. I suspect many the woodsman has been as transfixed as I am now."

Kvan Skyheart "Well, it certainly works well enough. It distracts me, and I try not to let myself get attached. It's what keeps me airborne. But...Unfortunately I'm being drawn...Into something dangerous." He leaned forward and kissed her slightly before pulling back quickly. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that."

With the slight creak of a skylight being opened from without, A young man entered the bar, drifting upon the somewhat stale currents of air shifting through the opening in the bar's roof. He alighted on one of the many rafters, his heavy boots thudding dully as they connected with the old, yet strong, beam of wood.

The sky pirate looked around the patrons from above before stepping off the rafter and drifting rather lazily to the floor by the counter, prepared to order himself something new. As he looked at the newest barkeep, a slight grin crossed his face. "I'll have a Pot o' Gold, bartender. Whole bottle, if you would." He pulled a few golden coins from his pouch, all of different nationalities, and placed them on the varnished wood counter to pay for his rather expensive drink.

The man nodded his thanks to the bartender and, bottle in hand, moved himself to one of the tables strewn about the room. He seated himself in one of the chairs, wincing at the protestations emitted by the wooden chair. Kvan uncapped the bottle and swirled his hand around in the air, forming a simple goblet out of a thousand thousand miniature vortexes of air.

He poured the smooth drink into the makeshift cup while looking around, noticing the wounded woman. he saw that she was already being cared for, and so he didn't offer to aid her, though as 39 entered, he couldn't help but watch with more than passing interest.

Kvan Skyheart quickly became disinterested, though he could tell that the soldier was wounded to a point where a physician would be needed soon. He sipped at his drink, enjoying the spicy cinnamon flavor as the shimmering liquid passed between his lips.

He hadn't been in the bar very often, only visiting it when he needed to collect on or find a new bounty to chase. He smiled and poured himself more of the bottle, figuring that his life as a man of fortune wasn't so bad. "I envy any man who isn't free to do as he pleases," the youth muttered slightly, relaxing back in his chair.

Kvan Skyheart sat still, not moving from his relaxed position, but tensing his muscles in preparation. "I could say that I am. Unless you'd like me to count nature's requests as something binding me from freedom." He drunk down the rest of the glass and stoppered the bottle, his goblet simply dissipating back to normal air.

Kvan Skyheart scooted his chair back in surprise as the man appeared in front of him. It wasn't the most surprising thing that had happened to him, but it never ceased to make him jump.

"Try freedom from anyone or anything that would keep me locked to one thing. I choose where I go, when I go. I can't say that I'm bound by any laws I may know of as I pass through various nations, but I keep myself out of trouble...mostly." He chuckled slightly and then asked, "What interest is it to you then, what I view as freedom?"

Kvan Skyheart chuckled darkly and leaned back. "I can't see how I could possibly save them. And as for meeting death, I wouldn't say he and I would meet as friends, but perhaps we would meet on even terms, without fear or anger."

He watched the man's jacket as he spoke, becoming more interested in not only the clothing, but his words. So the man was immortal, and apathetic. A bad combination, to be certain. He took the bottle back and, feeling like being the pirate of the skies that he was, simply took a swig from the bottle itself. Thousands dead? happens sometimes. Perhaps there was a war he might could join in as a mercenary or a spy. That could earn him some money, that was for sure.

Kvan Skyheart felt his head lifting to match the man's gaze. What was this man saying? That he, Kvan, could somehow stop a creature capable of killing thousands in a single night? It couldn't be more than nonsense, something to drive him to do something foolish. But those words he finished with.

"You say I might die if I do nothing, but if this thing, this creature, is as strong as you imply, I might die fighting it. And so what if I'm a mage. I went rogue long ago. Never trained properly. Only trained by real life." He could feel his stubbornness already faltering, impressed that the man's words had such an effect on him. Who was he, to let so many people die because he wouldn't try to help them? He berated himself mentally, reminding his conscience that he was someone who answered only to himself.

Kvan Skyheart watched, his mouth twisted as he thought over the implications. Him, a hero? Not likely. More a martyr than a hero, but still, there was fame and potential fortune to be had here. Just as he was about to speak, however, the man before him collapsed, partially on the table. Kvan jumped up from his chair and stepped back, moving himself in front of Eliana subconsciously.

Having seen the man drop so quickly caused the mage to quickly purify the air around him, fearing some kind of aerial poison. Once sure he couldn't be affected by any kind of airborne pathogens, he formed his bow.

It was beautiful, the bow. Created purely from magic and a pale green material called Zol, it was kept compact in a small rod, but extended to its full six-and-a-half foot length when compelled to by its owner. Although it possessed no string and Kvan held no quiver of arrows, he stood resolutely, aiming at Mansaigo's body.

Something about the man tipped Kvan off that things would not end well if he simply stood there. He sighed and then pulled a hand from the rod of his bow to his cheek, a glistening green, taipered shaft of energy trailing with his fingers. He closed one eye and sighted down the bolt with his other.

"I don't know what just happened, but you don't look like the kind of person I'd enjoy sharing a drink with anymore. How about I give you something to play with, eh big boy?" He himself grinned and let go of the arrow-like energy, watching as it streaked toward its target. He been called Hawk-eye before, but the way the man; no, not man, creature; crouched there, he had no idea if he could hold that title true.

Kvan Skyheart watched, slight impressed, slightly horrified, as the creature simply accepted the energy bolt without so much as a twitch. As soon as it appeared between himself and the girl, he spun around, one hand putting the rod that held his bow away, the other reaching for the slightly enchanted dagger he kept on his belt for such situations.

He went to stab the being in its back, aiming for it's spinal cord. Unfortunately, Kvan didn't have any idea the properties of the beings jacket, and kept the dagger moving as fast as he could, hoping to end the fight quickly.

Kvan Skyheart was absolutely dumbfounded by the beings speed and agility. He felt his knuckles pop as it tore his knife from him, then he felt a more serious separation as two of the fingers from his knife hand were dislocated. He began to cry out in pain, only to have a knee firmly send the air rushing from his body and send him skidding several feet across the floor.

The pain in his hand had him nearly on the verge of blacking out, but he forced himself up as soon as he could breathe properly. He winced with every move his right hand made, but with his left he began to create eddies in the air, forcing some areas to become more dense, some less. It was still just air, but in a few moments there would be tangible walls of super-dense air. He grunted, forcing himself to concentrate and ignore the pain in his hand, knowing that if he failed this time, he might not get another chance.
