Description

Kyrian Vox

Titles

Planeswalker of the Dyson, Guardian of the Data-World, Worst Party Guest Ever

Age

Unknown; even before taking the job of running the Data-World he lost track of sequential time from one dimension to another. His appearance is of a man in his mid-twenties but he knows he is much older than that.

Gender

Pan-Gender; While born male Kyrian has learned how to change his physical form at will. He prefers his birth gender over anything else.

Appearance

Kyrian is a 6'2" tall male with black messy hair and white skin. He is of standard build and is in good physical condition although not noticeably muscled in any area. His eyes are a spectral silvery color but are known to change colors with his mood or energy type he is using. He wears glasses as ancient as he is, more for looks and style than actual use, for his eyes have been repaired for eons. He enjoys wearing a blank black T-shirt and baggy dark grey cargo pants. He does not wear shoes often but whenever he has to he will wear black flexible boots often used for combat militants.

Personality

When anyone gets their first glance at Kyrian they see a tired, worn out individual. Over-worked, more than likely underpaid, and definitely angry about it. All this is true about Kyrian and more, but these are the primary things that first appearances show about him. Look a little deeper and one would see a devoted and wise man looking for entertainment in a dull and repeating universe. His job description only allows him a brief look at the outside world and it often waxes and wanes in excitement, causing him to become callous at times. In a single day, or at least what he sees as a day, he can go through the entire spectrum of emotions and still have room for a few extra moments of peaceful sleep.

Skills

Walking the Planes: Only PlanesWalkers have the natural ability to shift through dimensions by moving through folded planes of existence. Hence the name, PlanesWalkers.

Blue Magic: With energy taken from large concentrations of water and/or islands, a PlanesWalker is able to use Mind Magic, divert other forms of magic, or summon creatures encountered in Blue Energy habitats.

White Magic: Utilizing the energy of stars, grasslands, and other places with large amounts of sunlight a PlanesWalker is able to cure foul diseases, summon holy creatures and even prevent dark entities or evil magic from manifesting.

Artificer: Using any form of magical energy, a PlanesWalker can take control of mechanical objects of living or inanimate nature. This includes but is not limited to: mechanical tools, weapons and/or armor, and Artifact Creatures.

Immortality: Through his natural inborn ability to travel the planes of existence, his body and soul are able to constantly absorb the energy around him that makes up that part of the universe and rejuvenate himself.

Equipment

Cyrvo Mental Implant: Created during the First Era of Exploration by the Great Artificer, this cranial implant is able to enhance the users concentration and mental capacity. When activated by mental stimuli the implant can send and receive signals in any radio frequency and almost all available Astral frequencies. When upgraded with the Ocular Transmission attachment, a photon projection device can be inserted along with the implant near the back of the eye sockets, able to send images into the optic nerve as an almost spectral Heads Up Display that only the user can see. The same ocular upgrade can also emit a phonetic hologram out of the users eyes to show statistics chosen by the user.

Voltaic Key: Illegal to own in most parts of the galaxy, a Voltaic Key is a small device which can alter the state of mechanical or electrical machines in many different ways. Those with strong magical abilities can enhance the effects of this device and even alter magical constructs as well.

Home Planet

Data-World Arkvaes: Created by the Great Artificer near the end of his reign, this moon sized space craft was entrusted to Kyrian Vox as a last record of the Eldrasi. The Data-Worlds number in the dozens, although the exact remaining number is currently unknown. Able to store a near infinite amount of digital records in multiple thousands of different formats, these worlds are the largest known libraries in existence. Data-worlds also have large cryo-storage facilities built for almost any size of being. So far Arkvaes has the least full cryo-storage of all the functioning Data-Worlds but that may change in the future as new exotic beings are discovered. Arkvaes is also equipped with a number of scientific experimental labs, living quarters for a crew of two hundred, a full spectrum sensory array, and A.I. system that are able to run all basic systems autonomously. Auto-defense systems include energy shields that cover the entire craft and photon canons capable of splitting modern capital ships into debris with a single pulse. A full terra-forming system is operational powered by the crafts Mana-Forge engines which copy a PlanesWalkers ability to absorb universal energy.

Data World Arkvaes Specifications

History

Kyrian Vox was born in the Plane of Ravnica, the entire world being one large city split into ten different districts. While modern day Ravnica is much more extensive and vast in it's size, the Ravnica Kyrian was born into was much smaller and less developed. There were no guilds, no districts, and little to no authority in the city. The utopia was still very much magically alive in those times, seeing mages and PlanesWalkers travel through it and help it grow culturally. Kyrian showed signs of being magically adept early on and was recruited by the local government who trained him to be apart of their military. During training Kyrian awakened his PlanesWalker Spark, the essence of their power, and started travelling on his own. He became strong in both White and Blue magic that he was originally taught in by the Ravnica government, but he also showed much promise in working with technology. As time moved on so did his knowledge in tech and artifacts.

He became good friends with a PlanesWalker around his own age, who became known in later days as the Great Artificer. He rediscovered the Eldrasi, invented cybernetics, and brought both knowledge and death to many worlds with Kyrian either watching or aiding him in the endeavors. Nearing the end of the Great Artificers hold on his life and his sanity, he created the Data-Worlds and entrusted one of them to Kyrian. He was to be the guardian, technician, pilot and manager of Data-World Arkvaes. Kyrian accepted the position and at the violent battle where his friend would loose his life, Kyrian evacuated the Data-World into the void....

...Eons later Kyrian is still piloting his craft across the universe, occasionally stopping in nearby star-systems to restock on supplies or to explore for new life forms and document the sentient life across the universe.

So begins...

The Planeswalker mainly ignores the proceedings with the wooden golem Lukas made until he was offered the gift. He did not question it and slipped it into a pouch at his waist.

Still sifting through the planet's streets Kyrian comes up to a dusty looking shop and walks inside, ringing an old chime on the door and alerting the alien shop keeper that he had entered. He expected Mae and the golem to follow him inside. Kyrian spoke to the shop keeper in an alien tongue for awhile before he paid him for a small object made of a central spherical crystal wirewrapped with copper and each arm of copper coming off of it had a smaller crystal on the ends. Kyrian sparked magic into his fingers and made the object hover in his palm.

"Well, there it is. One Voltaic Key just as I wanted. Now we can leave unless you want to look around some more, Mae." Kyrian stepped out of the shop after putting his new key in it's case and looked down the busy trade street both ways trying to see anything they might want to check out.

Looking around, Mae secretly wished that she could roam the town, looking through each eccentric shop, but she had no money and had no idea how to speak the native tongue. Plus, she realized she may look like a ditz if she begged him to let her go shopping. "I guess we can go if you, uh, want to." Mae rubbed the edge of her sleeve self consciously. A cool draft filtered through the shabby door. Screaming could be heard in the dstance, but after being on Blackrock for so long, she took no notice of it. She. Reathed deeply, enjoying the lack of dust in the air. It had been years since she was somewhere other than blackrock. She remenbered the day she arrived on that desolate star. She remembered the great battlenof blackrock, and how she was almost killed. She chuckled to herself. Mae was one of three people who knew excactly how that war started.

She examined the voltiac key in his hand. "What excactly does that thing do? "

Lukas, back at the ship, was having a good time. He had conjured up a few toys from the databanks that looked cool, until he ran out of supplies to transmute. Once he was done toying around, he began getting into something serious.

Lukas had hit hard times a while ago. He was getting desperate, and now he had a grand idea; it wasn't the greatest, but it could work. He needed 13 ingredients to create the greatest potion of his family. Something his family could never crack.

The first thing on his list was a demon horn. He began researching how to find, hunt, and kill them on the computer, again immersing himself on the machine. The golem he had sent would still follow the group, but would stay silent. He hoped that the rest wouldn't mind.

Kyrian Vox

When Mae showed interest in the Voltaic Key, Kyrian showed her the small device briefly.

Image

"It transfer's energy through itself and amplifies the effects of magical technology. Made illegal in most parts of the galaxy because amateurs could blow themselves up with it."

With that small piece of trivia finished Kyrian scans the streets for anything interesting and comes up with a small street performer using Fire Magic in the middle of the throng of beings trying to make a quick buck, several food stands and a giant armada of trade ships docking in the skyline's background. He honestly was bored of the planet and just wanted to leave. "Come on, lets head back to Arkvaes. I would rather no trouble has the chance to get started here."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Back at Arkvaes an hour later Kyrian sat in his pilot's chair while everyone else was on the crew levels settling in. He was playing with his Voltaic Key while going over the supplies manifest and found everything to be in proper order. He settled back and drank the last of his coffee of which it was already his sixth cup since returning to the ship. He aimlessly scanned the sensors on the exterior hull of Arkvaes for anything to liven up his day when a small error appeared on the screen. Kyrian stared at it for a moment before shifting his physical form down into the cryo bays. It seemed to him as if something had fried in the circuitry in one of the cryo pods but it was easy enough for him to fix.

Kyrian was glad he currently had Ethorian music blasting throughout the entire ship at the moment, it distracted his mind from the repair work. He had no idea if the other crew members he now had could understand the insect scratchy rabble as words but if they didnt than they could turn off of speakers in their floor and leave the planeswalker to his madness. He fixed the problem quickly and looked at which creature lay inside the cryo pod he had just fixed. It was of course a humanoid, elf like creature. He did not care much as he returned to the crew deck via elevator and stepped out to where the others could see him.

"Alright crew, it is time to assign crew positions. Everyone have a seat in the lounge and we will get started." Kyrian was there in a flash and waited for the others to join him.

Lukas finally took his face off the monitors when he heard Kyrian's decree. He decided that he was a bit tired, and since he had already collected enough data on what he needed for his project, that he'd rest as soon as the Keeper assigned him a position on the ship. He drowsily drank one of his "substenance" drinks; a mix of nutrients, vitamins, and chemicals that were just as good as food. With the help of the pick-me-up, he went over to the lounge, and sat across from the ship's captain.

Kyrian Vox

As everyone settled into a comfortable spot Kyrian adjusted his glasses and summoned a data-pad to his hand which he read down quickly. "Seeing as there are well over 50 open crew positions per person here, I doubt it will be much of a problem to find everyone a task they will enjoy doing. I will run over the basics for you all, and remember what crew position you want. When you have decided input your thumb print and choice into one of the computers."

Kyrian read the job names from top to bottom, included in the list were medical officer, communications/sensor unit, Physical and/or Metaphysical maintenance officer, planetary ecologist, starship scout pilot and many other listings that Kyrian did not even bother finishing and instead gave each person their own list to look through before finding the coffee machine and pouring himself a fresh cup.

He let them decide for themselves and sipped his caffeine while looking through his neural HUD. He didn't care much what positions they took, the job description was the same for each one. Listen to Kyrian and don't get killed, which was easier said than done on the largest mobile cryo-prison on the universe. Almost cue when everyone was finished all the lights flashed dark blue and red as a loud alarm sounded throughout the ship. "Ah, well there goes my day. Sounds like something got out of Cryo-storage again."

He was answered by a loud roar as the subject came up on the largest joint screen close to the group. Kyrian took a good look at the large muscled humanoid creature that had escaped. "Cryo Unit B-23334.... why does that sound familier? Oh yeah, cause all the Cryo Units sound alike. HA! Anyway this guy is immune to heat so be careful getting him back in his unit. I suggest freezing him, smoother transition from screaming to sleep."

With that Kyrian warped himself up to his pilot's seat and brought up surveillance camera's to watch how his new crew took care of the escaped creature.

Lukas fumbled through his backpack for a moment, taking a few brews out in preparation for dealing with the creature Kyrian had asked for them to take care of. He couldn't help it; Lukas wasn't very confident of himself, for he wasn't really anyone special. He tends to overprepare just a bit (hence him carrying a satchel with a few dozen different potions EVERYWHERE), but just for today, he'd play it cool. He finally took out 2 brews, one which was clear and shiny, and the other in a much thinner, weaker flask for the sake of throwing; its contents blue and crystalline. Now ready for action, he waited for the others.

Mae lazily slung her pack over her shoulder. "Is anyone even going to take care of Zephyrus? Get him a charger or something?" Seeing all the commotion, she couldn't blame them. It wasn't really the best time to have one of Kyrian's cryo-whatevers break down. She wondered exactly why Kyrian kept all these creatures as if they were collector's items. A thought lingered at the back of her mind but she ignored it.
"Quite the eccentric trade, I'll give him that." She muttered under her breath as she often did. She wondered what sort of things were kept there. Undoubtedly he had collected very powerful beings, because of the precision and quality of his technology. Even the brute which had escaped the chamber was quite impressive. She glanced at Zephyrus before she left, hoping that someone would take care of the situation he was in. She strode past the various surveillance screens with slight interest. Such a big ship... "Well we'd best take care of Fiery Destruct-o before things get outta hand." She ran her fingers through her pale hair as she walked through the thick doors to the elevator unit. Hopefully the thing wouldn't go down without a bit of a fight, as she was quite unamused at the moment. Half smiling, she pressed a button, lowering her into the cryo-unit area. Its almost Showtime, folks...

Lukas dropped to the cryo-unit along with Mae, leaving the others behind for a moment; no time to lose.

When they made it there, Lukas was shocked by the temperature of the place. He began shivering quite quickly, and wanting to leave, began searching about the cells immediately to see if he couldn't find the escaped entity. After a minute, he found his empty pod, but not him. Deciding that he was too cold to do much, he allowed Mae to lead the search.

As they wandered about, Lukas pondered on a project of his. He had already gotten a few ingredients, but he couldn't harvest all the items he needed alone. He decided to ask Mae for assistance, after they were done with their current endeavor.

Mae crouched down and examined the twisted metal where the creature had broken through. She ran her fingers across the cold, jagged edges with contemplation. She stood up, shivering a little bit as a gust of air leaked from the fractured paneling. A slight noise echoed through the massive room, and her ears twitched and flicked as she listened. "Over there..." She pulled the hood of her cloak tighter around her face as she beckoned for the human to follow. Silently, she walked over to a stack of metal crates, probably holding supplies for the ship. She heard breathing, although she doubted Lukas could unless he had used a potion. She wedged her dagger between two of the heavy crates, which were a little taller than she was.

Clinging to its edges, she lifted herself up and over, using the dagger's hilt as a foothold. Catching her breath a little, she peered over the edge to see a muscular humanoid figure, shivering in the frigid air. Her foot slightly slipped on a patch of ice clinging to the corner of the crate, and she hoped that the thing hadn't heard her. she pulled the dagger from underneath he crate and continued climbing, using her same method. She was now about 15 feet above the creature, watching it intently. It was covered in what seemed to be deep scars, now swollen with tissue. It looked to be blind in one eye, and missing fingers. She reasoned it must have been relatively difficult to catch.

Mae looked back down at Lukas, pitifully shaking with cold. Snapped her fingers to get his attention, and motioned for him to get his potion ready. She turned around to see the creature standing upright, staring at her from below. Startled, she lost her balance, and fell, hitting the solid corner of a lower crate with her back, and the top of the other with her skull. Cringing, she tried to quietly get down to Lukas's level again, but was not making much progress. There was only one option. Though it was only about 8 feet, jumping would be the quickest way to the ground. She pushed herself off the edge, landing on the ground with a jarring *thud*. she was hurting, but not enough to keep taking this thing down. A roar echoed from behind the stacks of boxes, as a splitting crack pierced her ears. "Lukas look out!" A crate teetered on its edge, as the bashing continued. The creature was going to topple the crates!

"Oh fu-" was all Lukas said before the noise of a crate being destroyed drowned out whatever he meant to say. His legs running for him, he whisked himself away from the crates, as he got a glimpse of the beast they needed to capture. With a single cryo-blast brew at his disposal, he calculated his throw as quickly and as precisely as he could...

He threw it against a nearby wall, where the vial bounced off the cap that held the brew in. From there, it launched itself towards the monster and broke. A cloud of absolute-zero smoke formed as the liquid fumes coated the beast, and instantly encased it in a thin layer of ultra-cold ice; so cold, touching it would definitely freeze anything it touched. With a chuckle, Lukas declared "I'm good!" before drawing a phone from his pocket and taking a selfie with the newly formed frosted statue.

10 BxG rockets flew through the sky, all filled with 5 power troopers and 30 UCN miners each. They have been in space for 3 months, and were approximately over 5 million miles away from there home world....Dread. Most of the miners missed it, even though it was a hell hole. Radiation was everywhere, and mutants wanted to make The United Columbian Nation another ruin in the wasteland. But the UCN would never let that happen. The Power trooper Rangers were telling what the miners, and the power troopers were to do once they landed on Black Rock. It was a long 3 months. Some even went insane on the trip, and were quickly destroyed. Space did wonders to your mind. The Power troops got there T-96g power armor on, while the rangers got there X-08 Tesla power armor on. The T-96g was outdated, but it would protect you from most conventional firearms. And even some heavy weapons. The X-08 Tesla was even better than the T-96g....It had a energy field around it making the user immune to conventional energy weapons, and the thicken plates would make bullets bounce off of the user. A modern marvel of the old world technology. The miners grabbed there shovels and pick axes, getting ready for whatever was out side. The long makeshift looking rockets landed perfectly. That was good. The power troopers took defensive positions around the rockets, looking for signs of threats. The Rangers were guarding the entrances of the rockets, while the miners waited anxiously to get off the plain ship. A Ranger was walking back and forth, pacing. Who knew what kind of locals were here? Radio said this place was just a lifeless lot, that happens to have a atmosphere. The ranger thought. His name was Jacob hothman. And he was the president of the United Columbian Nation of the planet Dread. He held his Flintlock assault rifle tightly, ready for anything. He checked his radio. "Bravo 1 to lions 3, do you copy." a moment later his radio buzzed. "we copy, no signs of life, continued exploration will be done, over and out" That made Jacob cringe a little. Silence wasn't something he's use too.

"No signs of life?" Cinder asked him. There must be signs of life here, it certainly didn't look dead. Well, at least not yet. She kept a hand on one of her guns, prepared for anything. She had followed Jacob and was watching the miners now as well.

Jacob looked at Cinder. She had been with them for the expedition, and even helped with the removal of the people who had become insane on the trip. But, she was neither a miner, or soldier. "yeah, this place is basically dead. Sure, almost the same atmosphere as dread, but we haven't seen anything to indicate life, well, besides maybe bacteria life. Its like back at Dread, a barren wasteland. You know, you been with us on he trip, yet I only know your name. So, why did you join us on this expedition? I mean, were only here to mine for coal, oil, and uranium. Why didn't you stay at the capital?" Jacob asked. Sure the capital was basically a collection of shacks, rebuilt homes, and a few motels. But it was the biggest city on dread. Over 100,000 people lived there. Maybe she was looking for her fortune? Oil and uranium is worth a lot per ounce. Jacob remembered when he agreed to take the mission, and allowed the general to take his place as president. He wanted to protect the miners. Simple as that. He glared at Cinder. "Or are you looking for a place to stay? There were plenty of homeless shelters back at the capital." he suggested mildly. He kept his eyes out on the horizon, and on the miners, as they were now unloading various tools from the Rockets. 2 power troopers saluted him. He saluted back. Everything was going to plan. Maybe they could colonize black rock, one day.

Cinder became quiet at that, but she looked up at him with a cold gaze. "There are far too many bad memories I have to face in the capital. I thought it'd be nice to get away from them for a few days" she said coldly, voice as hard as stone. She reached with her right hand to rub her left arm, right above her elbow, where a bright white scar was.

Jacob shrugged. Noticing her tension, he moved his elbow around to get used to the heavy power armor. Its been years since he had to wear the armor, maybe politics made him soft. He rose his eyebrow, although she couldn't see it through the power helmet he was wearing. He decided to change the subject. "So, do you think we should do this? Mine out a planet? Sure, it maybe a dead planet, but still. Who knows what creatures live here." Just on queue, a small back bug scurried crossed the sand in front of him. It looked a bit like Radpest, a heavy annoyance back on dread. He turned to Cinder. "Well, we know what kind of creatures live here now." He chuckled. He started pacing around the makeshift camp, watching for anything to happen. He over heard some miners saying that there was no life on this planet, others saying there were probably giant bugs, and some said they thought there were intelligent life forms. Well, certainly was bug life, maybe some plants, but that had to be all.

"I don't think it's worth it. It would be more useful to actually make it a living planet" Cinder decided, following him quietly.

Jacob shrugged. "First we have to make our planet a living planet. And we cant just build a terraforming device. Trust me, if it were possible, we would. We need the resources. Without them, we would become tribals like back on Dread. No knowledge of technology, no knowledge of anything. If we want to be able to trade with other factions of the galaxy, we need resources. Especially gold. Because bottle caps are not worth anything to them. I mean seriously, were out of materials back home. We haven't found a single gold vein in the past 10 years, and the only mineral that is plentiful, is iron, which is too heavy for most machines." Jacob said. He checked his flintlock assault rifle, and watched as the miners were shoveling up the sand to expose the dirt underneath, only to shovel that. It looked to be tedious and hard work. He turned on his radio. "Bring me James Handerson, the top scientist." Jacob said. A moment later the radio crackled. "Coming right your way mister president."

"Hmm. I have a question, President....what are my rankings in our economy? Where do I stand?"
