Lily Nash

The CEO of Rhetoria United, a company specialising in the development of new ways to counteract mental decline and debilitation caused by diseases like Azheimer's and by natural senescence.

Description

Lily Nash is a black-haired, mixed-race woman of a rather dark complexion. Her hair is short and bowl-cut, and a bit frazzly on the days that she doesn't have time to comb through it. She is rather tall, about 5'9, and has a lanky body type. She has a rather photogenic, especially natural-looking smile -- nothing special, but the sort that usually earns "Pretty! :3" and "Omg, I love this picture <3"-type comments on pictures sent to her Facebook page. This smile comes into use when pictures of her taken by the future successors of the paparazzi flood the internet -- she evades the usual accusations of acting fake or corrupt by her trademark smile.

Lily favours professional-looking garb when in the public eye, such as a tuxedo with extra feminine accents (such as flowers in her hair) or muted-colour dresses. However, when in private and just having a good time, she's noted for having a classy, timeless wardrobe.

Lily Nash walked into the Bar as Rekaze entered in a blaze of glory. She lingered around the doors for a couple moments after entering, then quickly resolved to choose a seat by the bar.
She wondered vaguely how to order a decent repast here -- most people were giving one- or two-word commands and getting a simple glass of something or other, but she wanted something to eat.
She sighed and picked up a plastic, laminated menu.

Lily Nash glanced at Nichole, a bit scandalised at how the girl presented herself, then decided not to press the issue. Instead, she cotninued to pour through the menu, secretly wondering if anyone would help her out -- this was her first time here, after all.

Lily Nash continued to peer through the two pages of the menu, still trying to figure out what a lamb-potato-pate was.

Lily Nash stopped her musings through the menu for a moment to witness the ordering of a drink first-hand. How interesting. She appeared to be just asking what she wanted and getting it.
She looked around furtively, then moved over a couple seats to sit next to Jacey Dizzario. "Hello there," she muttered softly, a bit uncertain of how to introduce herself.

Lily Nash hesitated again for a moment before remembering her manners and firmly taking grasp of the other woman's hand. She cussed inwardly -- she came her to relax from business, not to act brusque and rude!
"I'm Lily Nash," she introduced herself to Jacey, taking the other girl's lead. She wasn't used to giving out her name like that so openly, but evidently people did that in this bar. "And, er, how are you?" She blinked as [b]Rekaze walked over and began flirting with Jacey, and was even more surprised as she saw wings coming out of her back.
Professionality finally came into use, however, and she kept from commenting.

Lily Nash raised a brow at Jacey's comments. "Why, thank you," she said reservedly, keeping a placid expression as the girl introduced Rekaze as some sort of mythical creature.

What kind of odd, strange city had she agreed to relocate Rhetoria United to?

"Nice to meet you, er, Rekaze," she said, returning his smile with a flat affect. "And no, I just met both of you now."

Lily Nash flushed, a bit embarassed that she was read so easily. "Er, is that bad?" she asked blithely of the both of them. "This is my first time here, so, erm, uh..."
Jacey cut in with her aside to Rekaze, saving her from making an awful monologue composed entirely of stalling words, and she chuckled, despite herself.

Lily Nash let out a real laugh at Jacey's words. "Sorry," she said mock-apologetically. "You see, I've got things going on in my life..." She hesitated, as she was now obviously apt to doing, and then started again, nonchalantly.

Seeing as how the third in the impromptu group had evidently left, Lily was now left quite alone with Jacey.
Well, her and everyone else in the Bar.
"So," Lily attempted to start, a bit off-put -- right as she was interrupted by Drakus Flavaar. "Fun," she commented blandly, then began to listen to what he had to say.

Lily Nash raised a brow at Drakus, not quite comprehending what he wanted them to do.
She walked up to the man, clearly discomforted by this chain of events, and folded her arms. "Erm, I have the innate power of always looking good in candid pictures," she volunteered.

Lily Nash stumbled into the bar, looking around for any respectable-looking people, or at least no one looking mentally insane.

Finding no one that fit that description, she sighed and made her way to a stool a couple seats down from both Molly Karato and Terrian the Scholar. Both of them had books, she noted with surprise. Was this place somewhat like a library without the rules on silence?
She shook her head and waved over the bartender as he came from taking Terrian and Molly's orders, and placed an order for a hard apple cider and a plate of hot apple pie.

Lily Nash gave Nathan Rogers a smile as he took her order, and secretly wondered how bartenders could remember their customers' orders with such precision. She'd have to learn why -- that'd help immensely with Rhetorica's new line of products -- Crystallised Knowledge Maintenance. Even as CEO of her company, she still held the education of her customers first.

She glanced furtively over to the two readers on either end of the line of bar stools. Cautiously, she probed Molly Karato first. "Hello there, miss," she offered up with a jab at a friendly, but not overbearing, smile. "Can I ask what you're reading?"

Lily Nash blinked at the woman's words. "What's a Kraken?" she wondered out loud, a bit concerned that she was losing her mind. Wing City was truly a fantastical place...

As Zen mentioned stem cells, her attention was suddenly jolted to him. "Stem cell technology has finally been perfected?!" she questioned him querulously. "Since when, and where? Who dispenses it?" She slyly took out an ID card from her pocket. "I'm Lily Nash, CEO of Rhetorica United. Give me information. I need to know," she added brusquelly.

Lily Nash grimaced as Zen met her attentions with a condescending sentence like that. "Never mind," she responded curtly, affronted. She wasn't used to being patronised -- the last time a man had acted like that to her, she had gotten her revenge the sweetest way possible.
Succeeding in a field where he had met a glass ceiling.
She went back to Molly and Nathan, harrumphing. [b]"I

Lily Nash followed the girl's train of thought with interest. "Really," she said, considering what she was about to say for a moment, then remembered to pay her bartender. Apologetically, she took out another card from her pockets and handed it to Nathan. "Erm, how many credits was the meal?" she asked out of interest, then switched her focus of attention back to Molly. "But, since a Kraken is a giant squid, does that mean it has a decent-sized brain? Is it possible to teach it things? Do Krakens? -- Krakeni? -- Kraken? suffer from, say, senescence? That is, do they age?"

Lily Nash raised a brow, accepting her card back with a frown as the bartender told her an exorbitant amount. "Hrmm. I wonder if they could be kept in containment tanks? Has one ever been captured before? I'm not quite a fan of animal testing, but you have to do what you have to do, if that's how the saying goes." She stopped again, her train of thought suddenly derailed, then abruptly began. "And nice to meet you, by the way! I'm Lily Nash, and what's your name?" She considered extending a hand, then remembered that the girl was reading a book.

Oh, the days when she was a college student...

Lily Nash raised a brow as The Mysterious Costumed Stranger walked in, and then raised the other as Buttons walked in -- both of 'em, apparently.
Then she shrugged, dismissing it as artifacts of too much LSD. Despite the fact that she's never taken LSD.
"Really? They're that large? That would make them more than a giant squid -- that'd be a colossal squid," she noted, a bit reluctant to imagine one. She was never a fan of seafood.

"Wouldn't that mean that the specimen would be smaller, being dead?" Lily Nash asked, finally finding something in the conversation to latch onto. "The body would have shrunk from drying by the time they shipped it to the laboratory. Why can't you study them?" she probed further. Inquiring minds wanted to know, evidently.

Lily Nash mentally rejected her application to go to a marine biology college for a day. "Oh," she said, a bit put off. "I took AP Biology ten years ago," she admitted with a slightly-faked laugh. "This is what you get when you don't read enough books."

Lily Nash walked into the Bar nonchalantly, having acquired the gist of the knowledge needed to successfully operate in such a chaotic place. She had come into possession of a small, somewhat rusty buckler, and struggled to keep the unwieldly piece of armour at her side, ready to be used.

Lily Nash took a furtive look through the establishment, and being how it was almost completely empty, she saw fit to enter.
Taking a seat at one of the many vacant seats at the bar, she drummed a finger on the table, waiting for a 'tender.

Lily Nash walked into the building, noting the hush and lack of people inside. 'How strange,' she mused to herself as she took a bar stool. It was like the only one inside besides her was the 'tender.
