Livia Caesarius set the glass to the side, shaking her head. "Typical, incompetent fools." She griped, sliding her glass away from her, narrowing her eyes at it. She then noted the Soldier and his reaction with the Scanner. "Better take that as my cue to leave, because this bar is about to turn into a free-fire zone."

Livia Caesarius calmly rested against the door frame of the bar, resting her hand on the hilt of her Spatha, eyes on Randin for several moments, as a hand moved to push some auburn strands of hair from her face, with a clear of her throat she surveyed the interaction between Kovodnik and Kaye for a long moment.

The Woman regarded and shifted her weight, adjusting her Lorica Segmentata armor, and resting her plumed helmet in the crook of her arm.

"Whose your friend, Kaye." She said out loud.

Livia Caesarius shrugged slightly, and then she shifted her footing. "Just making sure you're not about to do anything you'll regret." She said, shifting her footing once more, placing herself in a somewhat tactical stance.

She just simply kept her eyes on Carter and Kaye, she wasn't amused, and her expression was that of contempt. "I don't willingly put myself in a bar full of profligates, but I have to keep an eye on you, afterall I don't want you dropping dead because your wounds got infected. I also don't want you whining to the Terrans about how our nation is cruel and barbaric." She then rubbed her chin.

"Weren't you supposed to turn in your badge? Or was I hearing things?"

The Fight had carried on for several moments, that was until Livia decided it was time to break it up. Randin and Marlene were both charged by a pair of Legionaries and quickly separated and restrained. Livia slowly approached Randin and narrowed her eyes, Marlene had taken the bad end of the fight, and Livia was glaring at the officer. "Beating your wife?" She said, before she gestured to the Legionary.

"Accipite eum puniri." She called out, the Legion nodding and escorting Randin through the streets of the city, Marlene being carried off to another part of the City as Livia walked with them.

Dragged through the city as the sun began to set, Randin was led to a large courtyard, a single post a foot taller than the average human was seen, with a metal loop and chains with two wrist irons.

The two Legions quickly moved to shackle him, and if Randin had any idea what Roman culture was like, he could probably tell what was coming next.

There was talking in Latin, two Argosian legions trotting in, drunk and stinking of wine and booze. Livia stood back, before she turned to the man who was going to administer the punishment.

"Suus fac quod poena punitur, non occidere." She said, before she turned to leave, leaving Randin by himself, Livia turning as people talked among each-other in Latin.

"Utere clava." The Punisher said, and the two Legions both grabbed what looked like wooden switches, flexible wooden sticks, the man then sat back down in his chair, and gestured his hand. The two men tore Randin's shirt from his back, exposing it to the men, and the beating commenced.

"UNUM!" And the club was swiftly brought down across Randin's back.

"Duo!" Again, the second lash struck the man's back.

"Tria!" And another crack of the stick followed it's connection, while Livia stood there, satisfied almost.

Several painful minutes droned on, and Randin would have been beaten during that course.

"Treginta Unum!" The man called out, and Livia held out her hand.

"Satis... uti flagello." She said, and the men laughed and carried on, before one of them picked up what looked like a cat o nine, but with bits of lead, glass, and razors embedded in the leather.

"Flagellum?" The Man asked, and then he jingled it in Randin's face.

"Vos volo flagellum? Hic, degustatum gustus!"

Glared at Randin with contempt, sheer contempt that this didn't break him. She had hoped that punishing him like this would break him, end his rebellious streak. Livia stood there and contemplated her next actions. She stood there and stared at him as they prepared to strike him with the scourge.

Livia nodded to the Punisher, and the Punisher nodded solemnly.

"Unum!" The Argosian shouted, and the first scourge lash was brought across Randin's back, the glass, lead weight, leather and razor blades likely digging into the flesh, tearing it to ribbons like the scratch of a large cat.

"Duo!" The shouted, and the Scourge was brought across Randin's back once more, a loud crack signalling the whip.

"Tria!" Again and again the Scourge was brought across his back. Livia continued to sit there, hoping to break him, hoping the pain and humiliation would break him, as civilians and onlookers hurled food and vinegar soaked sponges at Randin, which would only make the pain worse.

"Duodeviginti!" By now Randin would have been bleeding profusely, and the Punisher held up his hand. "Satis." He said out loud, the two men stopping their scourging while Livia turned to the Legionaries.

"Liberet eum." She said, and the two Legionaries approached him, undoing the wrist irons and letting him fall or stand on his own strength.

"Crucis affixus eum volo." She said aloud, and the Legionaries laughed and carried on.

"Extra civitatem in tumulum hunc et crucifigite." She ordered, and the Men let Randin rest, before one of them lashed at him with his Scourge.

"In pedibus tuis!" He barked, before spitting on Randin, a pair of Legionaries moving to chain him up and pull him to his feet.

"Incedunt!" He barked, while another jabbed his spear, to poke but not wound.

The Legionaries manhandled him, and continued to manhandle him through the streets of the city. Marlene was seen too, being manhandled by the guards but in a different manner, her naked back had been glistening with already healing lashes. It seemed she had a recent dose of Aschen medicines, and she had taken the blows in fair stride. Randin was not so lucky, and an unconscious Marlene was slumped against the column of a building.

Livia and her men led Randin through the streets, where people cheered and laughed, tossed food and struck at him with clubs, and once they were on the other side of the gate, a small hill was seen where roughly five crosses were propped up, some of them with skeletons, and a few with corpses, one Cross was laid down, the cross reserved for Randin.

The Legionaries moved and pulled Randin onto his cross, tying his feet to the base, where they could rest on a small wooden platform, they also tied his wrists to the frame and securely made sure he was immobilized. After a few more moments the cross was hoisted up and allowed to settle in it's foundation, and Randin was placed atop the hill, able to view the city and the nearby Taiyou base, of course, the realization wouldn't dawn on him until his wounds stopped healing, rain would be a welcoming respite, as cold drops washed the blood, the grime and the vinegar from his wounds, offering some respite from the pain.

You might have friends in the Empire, but we don't. I am concerned about the Taiyou right now, since they tried to wipe us out in the MIlky way." Raphael said, shaking his head. "Hyperdrive? You're going to find a hyperdrive here, on Argos!?" He laughed audibly, before the sounds of scuffling could be made out outside.

The door was thrown open, and two Argosian Legionaries moved into the house, swords drawn and readied as they moved towards Randin, one of them shouting.

"Statim criminalis fecem Desine!!" He called out, while Raphael stood aside.

"I can't risk you running to the taiyou."

"Ille intrusore" He said to the guards, as they closed in on Randin, the door creaking open and a very familiar female form moved in.

"Well well well, if it isn't Randin Kaye." She said in plain Terran english.

"You have balls showing your face here again."

"Awwwwww SHIT," Randin's face in that moment bore striking similarity to a man who'd just stubbed his toe very hard against a brick wall and had putrid garbage shoved under his nose, all the while being forced to watch a live video feed of Sarah Jessica Parker's adult film audition. He turned to face Livia, his shoulders slumped forward.

"You have balls showing your face here again."

"Oh, well, y'know," Randin shrugged, "my last experience here was just SO invigorating. Yeah. Crucifixion does wonders for the skin, really. I couldn't keep away." His hands hung down by his sides as he eyed the guards suspiciously.

"...are you just here for an intimidation factor? I haven't committed any crimes," he retorted, "hard to call a man an intruder in his own house." His eyes narrowed. "Unless you were planning on making up charges again. Didn't seem to be a problem for you last time."

Raphael stepped aside, and he seemed to fade into the background while Livia shook her head, and clicked her tongue.

"For all intents and purposes you should be dead, Mr. Kaye." She said calmly, the two sword wielding guards squeezing the hilts of their blades.

"But that's fine, we can settle the score right here." She then reached into the small of her back, grasping what looked like a pistol shaped mass of wood, with a fork shaped appendage towards the tip. She pointed it to Randin and lined up the sights.

"It's a mistake I won't make again." She squeezed the weapon, and it barked, discharging a sickly orange sheet of energy towards Randin, he would have to take swift action to miss it's disintegrating shot.

Slim couldn't stay on that damn ship any longer. It was a shitty human piece of trash, even more junkier than a Scythian Smuggler. The four-armed alien had shunted his way off the frigate and donned a hoodie, stuffing his two long lower arms down his pants and assuming the form of a very hunchbacked man. It was uncomfortable, but at least it let him subtly scratch his gonads.

The alien had followed Kaye to his house, occasionally stopping to stare at the nearby shops and other Argoisian treats and streets. It was all rather boring and paled in comparison to Scythian architecture, then again, everything was pretty shit compared to anything Scythian.

"Stay on the ship, Slim." Kaye had said earlier, they had a gigantic argument which ended in some more components being broken. It hadn't taken long for Slim to break that command and go after his survivor friend. The alien saw a few people enter the house, couldn't quite place to what faction they belonged and walked across to the apartment, heard some threatening words and then bust though the front door.

In the brief moment before the gun was fired, the front door burst open and allowed an ugly figure access to the house. A single red eye scanned the room, saw the finger depress the trigger and he dived forward towards Livia, the door slamming against the wall, hoping to draw the gun away from his only hope of getting home, and well, Slim didn't want to say friend just yet.

Slim hoped his ugliness would give the rest of the people around them pause.

Randin saw the pistol whip out of (what he hoped was) a holster somewhere on Livia's backside and was already rushing to avoid the shot... when Slim waltzed into the equation. The detective froze in his tracks, partly on account of the overwhelming fury that seized him upon realizing that Slim had not followed his orders and partly because, once again, he was reminded how butt-fucking-ugly this goddamn alien was. Why would God make something so hideous. Why. Thankfully, he was saved from Livia's blast as the alien pounced forward and seized her wrists, likely redirecting the shot away from Randin's body.

With Slim literally walking in out of nowhere, it seemed very likely that his three opponents were at least momentarily distracted. Taking advantage of this, Randin seized the only immediately nearby projectile he could: an oak wood stool. Ripping one of the legs off with ease, Randin raised it with one hand and threw the piece of furniture directly at the head of the nearest legionary. There was enough force behind the attack to splinter the chair into nearly two dozen pieces. Hopefully it would be enough to knock the man unconscious.

With his makeshift wooden sword, the detective pounced on the next legionary, powering himself forward with surprising speed. He would come at the soldier with a downward swipe, looking as if he were about to slam the peg against the soldier's skull. In reality, Randin was just trying to bate the legionary into raising his sword to block the incoming strike. The moment he did (IF he did), Randin would curve the path of the attack, aiming instead for the soldier's wrist, attempting to break the bones in his hand and force the sword out of his fingers.

Slim had made contact with Livia's form, pushing her arm away and towards the ceiling, causing the sheet of energy to vaporize the ceiling and part of the house, leaving little more than smoldering ash in it's wake.

She took a quick step back, moved to shove Slim away with her foot, and unsheathed her blade, the Nanosteel blade vibrated minutely, before she took a wide cross-way swing at Slim's midsection, the sword capable of rending flesh and most metals in a swift slice of it's molecular sharpened blade.

The legionary battling with Kay brought his blade up, and an audible crack followed as the chair made contact with his wrist, causing him to recoil in pain while the second one threw his armored wrists up to block the incoming chair, then he lunged towards Randin with his blade drawn. Livia on the other hand was intent on ending this alien.

"Rancidus.." Livia scoffed, before she followed up with a jab of her sword, should he evade the swing, and then she pressed a flurry of attacks, while additional Legionaries, and a pair of Musketeers moved down the street towards the house.

Slim dived back, the blade slicing at the areas he'd just been, slicing off bits of metal along the aliens form. The Scythian had no eyebrow to raise, and the sparks flying from his cyborg chassis were enough voice. "Rancidis? Vio'lah. Titties, haha." The alien backed up and slammed the door with his back, thinking hard and quick.

Slim revealed his two long lower limbs, pulling them out of his pants and brandishing them. It might come as a shock, as they were hidden in his pants when he jumped Livia. The alien gave her a quick look then ran in the other direction, diving forward to grab the other legionnaire around the waist with his upper arms and his lower limbs whirled around in a full three sixty with a series of unearthly cracks to grab the man's shoulders then lean backward and suplex him across the room and into Livia.

With the first legionary hopefully suffering from broken metacarpals, Randin turned to face the second. He dodged and weaved, dexterously ducking as the legionary delivered a swipe towards his neck, delivering a counter to the man's armored torso with his knee. Unfortunately, the man's armor protected him from most of the blow. As the legionary came in for a mid-section swipe, the nip of his blade caught Randin's midsection even as he threw himself backwards. A shallow but long cut now sliced across his abdomen.

The detective looked up from his engagement with the soldier for only the briefest of moments, noticing Slim caught in a bad place with Livia. Although the alien's hideously ugly extra-limbs MIGHT prove to distract the battle-hardened warrioress, the risk was too great. Hefting the chair peg he still held from earlier, Randin tossed the stick of heavy wood directly at the back of Livia's head, hopefully buying Slim the chance he needed to engage the now-closing remaining legionary. They needed to work as a team if they wanted to even HOPE of getting out of this alive.

That done, Randin ducked and rolled from the soldier's inevitable counter-attack, attempting to pick up the sword that the soldier he previously incapacitated would have undoubtedly dropped when he broke his wrist.

Livia only had a split second to double take at the two lower limbs, before she felt something clock her on the back of her head. It didn't knock her out, but it caught her attention.

She had a split second, diving across the floor, barely missing the unfortunate Legionary that found himself Suplexed by Slim.

With her head throbbing, and most of her men out of the fight, Livia quickly ducked out and behind an adjacent counter-top. Only Livia would know what was going to come next, so she hunkered down, giving Randin and Slim a brief pause among two now unconscious and groaning legionaries.

"Cadunt!" A Man's voice outside screamed.

"Praesentis armis!" He called out, and should Randin or Slim gaze out the window facing the town, they would see a line of roughly three dozen men, in gold and white outfits and black and gold tricorn hats with large red plumes. Each one of them were pointing muskets at the house.

The man then shouted. "Aperto igne!"

Suddenly the multiple cracks of musket fire rang through the town, dozens of muskets going off, and hurling balls through windows, weak points in walls, through wooden doors, and through anywhere they could go through, splintering wood, furniture, and curtains alike. This was why Livia had taken cover.

The voice echoed in the calm. "Duo Parate!"

"Praesentis armis!"

"Aperto Igne!"

Another volley of musket fire followed at the house, sending shrapnel and lead balls through the house, Livia was quickly trying to find an out.

"La'vesh." Slim cried out as some of the musket shots pinged off his armored spine, rolling across the floor of the building and bringing himself up to his feet, quickly peering though a hole left by one of the musket shots to view the line of tricorne-wearing soldiers outside and gave a huff of disappointment.

Slim leaped to his feet, throwing broken timber out of his way with his two lower limbs, snatching up sharp splinter of wood with one of his free limbs and dived for Livia, shank in hand and hand going for her throat.

It was the sound of the shouting soldiers followed by the faint but familiar scent of gunpowder in the air that alerted Randin to the incoming volley. The detective had no sooner hit the floor of Marlene's kitchen than did a storm of bullets rip through her house, splintering her furniture and filling the room with a thick, acrid smoke. The detective coughed, scrambling to his feet as the musketeers began to reload. That had been too close. They needed to get out of here NOW.

"SLIM!" he roared, looking towards the alien as he lunged at Livia, "FORGET THE BITCH! LET'S MOVE!" He was already making towards the back room, remembering a door leading out the other side of the house.

Meanwhile Kianna was doing a remarkable job of ignoring the firefight going on in the rest of the house as she rummaged through her and Mollem's things. Where the fuck had he put that pistol?

Having largely turned the room inside out and come up empty handed she turned her attentions to the bed itself. She pulled the pillow out from under Mollem's head and threw it at him.

"Get up," she told him as she reached around under the mattress.

Aha.

Her hand closed around the cold metal of the disruptor pistol from its place under the bed. Standing up she checked the safety on it before shoving it into the back of her pants.

"It's time to clear the fuck out. Preferably while people are busy shooting the fuck out of Randin instead of us."
