Lizzie

Looking side to side, the lizard-woman enters the room, forked tongue flicking out as she takes in the scents on the air.

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Dragonlover8

Description

Name: "Lizzie"

Age: 68, but appears closer to 18

Gender: Female

Power: Reptilian

Power description: Lizzie possesses all the powers of your typical reptile. Tough scales cover her entire body, and she is armed with short claws, sharp teeth, and a tail. But her real strength is her speed. She has an uncanny ability to sense danger, and get away from it before it can cause her any harm. She is also capable of climbing walls and ceilings silently wherever her claws can find purchase.

Weakness: Being a reptile, she is cold-blooded, which means she has a particular aversion to frost and chill, favoring warm environments as a result. She can also be quite easily broken if she can be caught.

Strengths: She is strong against mages, as she can sense whatever they might be charging up and get out of range of whatever they might doing. She is also effective against heavier foes, as she prefers a skirmishing fighting style, gradually wearing down her opponents with surgical strikes and avoiding whatever might be swung at her.

Personality: Lizzie is strong individual, and very proud. Although she is not friendly, she is certainly approachable. But nothing and nobody will hear her speak of her roots, which she jealously keeps secret.

Fears: She has a disabling fear of torture, in particular the acute kind that focuses on small areas of the body such as nails, teeth, etc. She is also not particularly fond of tight quarters or crowds.

History: Her past is simple, some would call it savage. Her kin live in secrecy in the wilds, hunting their need and keeping to themselves. But after the death of her father, her mother having died giving birth to her, she left her village in favor of exploring the world beyond. Armed with nothing but her scales and talons and teeth, she will make friends where she can, and learn new skills that can better herself and her people.

So begins...

Slithering along the ground, the lizardess comes. That whiplike tail extends behind her body, naked if only for the scales that cover her form, waving to and fro as she progresses. In the dark woods, her hearing ruled overall, and it is that very sense that allows her to pick up, even in the thick of shrubbery and trees, that shout. Her head angles in that direction, and with speed, she goes over to the hole. She looks down in it and, with a raspy voice, calls out, "Hello?"

With the tongue flicking wildly, she could smell the cinders, the spicy taste, of smoked zombie flesh. She growls at the horrendous odor and instantly turns away... only to be confronted by another shout. What now? What is this nightmarish place, and who is this tortured soul that keeps shouting? Now bound to assist, she heads straight that way, as fast as her four legs could carry her, and she quickly enough finds her way to the Enderman. Reptilian eyes stare at it, fascinated and horrified all at once, before she strenuously gets on her hind legs, suspending long body upright, and hisses threateningly at it. She did not seem to catch the wolf, but something did tell her there was more weird things about in these forests, and one of them was quite close.

She was doing just that, though in a far more proactive sense then that. Her Lizzie Sense tingling, she could tell that the thing was about to attack her, and the plan was... whip in the face with her tail. But of course, by the time that tail would have made its target, it was passing through nothing but air, and she was staring right into the face of it. Not expecting that, she half-startles, half-methodically tumbles over the wolf that had run into her in order to get out of the things probable striking distance. She lays flat on her belly as she lands, her eyes on the creature as she tries to figure out her next move.

She looks up and around, hearing that furry skuttling before she saw it. Flicking her tongue out, she looks around and about, then scurries up a tree to get in better position... to escape. This was not what she was expecting, and she had someplace to go. Call her a coward, but there were other things to do then risk getting killed.

Just beyond the surf, intruding to the land before just as quickly retreating from whence it came, was the lizard woman. Green scales shimmered slightly under the sun, reflecting multiple rainbows from the water that had beaded on her. A pile of fish bones lay at her hands as her long body, made longer by that tail, arched gracefully up as she basks in the wonderful sun.

The visitor was smelled long before he was seen, and as he comes closer, the females head swivels to the side. Reptilian grey eyes land on him, and she blinks once or twice as that forked tongue shoots out of her mouth in his direction. That long tail, more powerful than it looks, sways of its own accord, her version of a strung bow.

She blinks and tilts her head, as if not quite understanding. That is when she looks down, and remembers. Yes, she had gone fishing, hunting, however you want to put it. The lizard-lady looks back at the stranger before responding. "Yesss," she rasps out. "Very good day."

A snort is what she exerts from her nostrils, amused at the startle she afforded the stranger at the sound of her voice. She then looks at the bow and thinks. "Perhapsss. The fish are a little deep, but they might be in closer now." Her eyes then go back to the man.

Now, the lizard-lady smiles, though it is not a smile in the proper sense of the word. It's more the corners of her mouth pulling backward to show small, but sharp, teeth. "I would like that. But I don't need repayment, I hate thossse gutsss and I'm not hungry anymore. But I would like your company, absolutely."

She continues to smile, and then nods. "Sure," she says as she lower her body and, walking like a salamander, goes toward the water before standing on her hinds and walking in. Her walk is stooping, and she looks much like a T-rex with longer arms and not nearly as bad a temper.

"I will be happy to," says "Lizzie." She then arcs her head up and warbles out something similar to her fathers, but with a more distinctly abbreviated second beat and five short ones following it.
