Description

Marquis Louis Ancroft Vernon Esq.
Basics -

First name: Louis
Middle name: Ancroft
Last name: Vernon
Nickname(s): The Prince of Montague’s Gambit.
Gender: Male.
Species: Vampire.
Race: Human.
Nationality: English
Date of birth: October 21, 1798
Age: 213 years from my last count, this is of course also counting my natural life before I became what stands before you. Before they turned me into one of the walking dead I was 23 years old and happily married.
Horoscope: One would imagine that people would stop believing in such nonsense.
Birthplace: It has been such a long time ago but I can recall my childhood all the way back to when I was just a boy of 5 years old. My parents told me that I was born in a small village just north of St. Ives sits now. I have visited that place many a time and no longer recognize it.
Current residence: My estate is not as voluptuous as one might think for a member of the aristocratic members of society, no, my estate is no more than a plot in a graveyard deep in a simple mausoleum made of marble and other stones along with double doors that even in my eternal existence still show the grandeur that I once claimed.

Appearance -

Height: I stand roughly around 6’2”
Weight: 212 pounds.
Build: Lean.
Handedness: right handed.
Skin color: Pale.
Blemishes/Birthmarks: I was a healthy child and so I suffered no bodily scars or blemishes that would mark me with any imperfections. Nor do I have any birthmarks that could have distinguished me for my father or mother to identify if my corpse would have washed ashore one day or if I was murdered. Then again I suppose that now it would not matter if I did sense they are long dead.
Tattoos: In this day of age I have noticed that many people have marked on their skin with inks of all kinds but do I have any? The answer is no of course. I find that marking the skin with designs is all fine and good but I would prefer not to scar myself so easily.
Piercings: This is just like the first question about the Tattoos. No I might were a ring or two but I would never place jewelry upon my ears. Of course many of the men in my time might have and I know surely that even more so did in the years before my birth but like most things I like to think of myself as staying constant.
Hair color: Brown.
Style: Short and wavy.
Length: Short.
Wear: None.
Eye color: Pale Blue.
Usual attire: My usual attire is that of clothing from the Victorian Age, a lovely time filled with dress and parties were a man could meet with a woman and enjoy themselves. I however try to remain in a more lax form of dress that would not seem to excessive or appear that I am going out on the town.
Secondary attire: Like the cloths I find myself usually wearing but with a bit more flare.
Occasional attire: It would appear that I have joined some masquerade.
Armor: Nothing clunky and no leather except for the cloths I am wearing.
Gear:
Equipment:
Weapon preference: A man is taught the finer arts of war from sword play to shooting. I however do not just take up a single weapon and call it one of my favorites.
Main weaponry:
Secondary weaponry:
Jewelry: Several gold bands with rather large rubies and sapphires along with a silver band with his family crest emblazed by a cut onyx gem.
Accessories:

Health –
Diet: I used to dine of the finest dishes created by masters gourmets with years of experience and a lifetime of fine dishes at my table. Now I drink the blood of my prey and if I am lucky am able to do so while enjoying my past meals as to make them more bearable. We vampires might not be able to eat normal foods like the mortals do but we still have a very powerful sense of taste.
Exercise: I used to be a fencer, swordsmen, and an active enthusiast of walking around town and hiking through the woods. Now I lay about indulging my dark needs and hunting down my prey for days if not weeks before I strike.

Physical disabilities: None.
Mental disabilities: I am no more insane than the next man.
Habits: “We are creatures of Habit.” Something that I fully agree to and my daily habits, or nightly whichever you feel more comfortable with, usually consists of me reading in my time and studying laws and the sciences of the world as much has changed sense my time. All forms of knowledge keep me sated just for curiosity sakes alone.
Bad habits: When I am out on the hunt and I drain my victims dry, which I rarely do as killing them would only draw more attention to myself, I tend to leave a bit of myself behind in the way of an article of clothing or something I brought along. I have been known to leave behind coins that I have handled only to leave them heads up

Louis smirked at the odd question.

"Yes Daemala, work, you forget I keep my nose in books involving laws and rules of all kinds." Louis quickly retorted only to take a sip of his Gruul.

"I took a trip to Paris, found a new home possibly, there was an even larger library of books covering a wide array of topics from our kind to darker things." Louis frowned at that notion only to reach down into his pocket only to produce a strange ring.

"This little trinket has been a pain to acquire though. It was something that the others promised one such as ourselves to find and keep. Honestly I am thinking about tossing it away like trash."

Books, laws, rules, Daemala rolled her eyes and refilled her glass of wine. There was, after all, an entire half bottle left. Paris sounded nice, she had been there once long ago, but the library sounded a bore. She was losing interest until he procured a ring.

"What is that?" She shifted, crossing her arms to lean on them over the bar counter. The glass clinked down mostly full. It was no longer the object of her interest.

"The others?"

"Oh, this little thing, a key of sorts. Honestly it was more of a hassle than it is truly worth." Louis frowned and sipped his drink a bit more only to place the ring before the vampiric woman. The Prince simply shook his head as he set his drink down only to look squarely at Daemala.

"Honestly though." Louis offered with a smug grin as he leaned in as if to spill some massive secret. "It can be yours if you are so willing to take if off my hands. I can no longer make use of it."

The ring glittered on the counter top, tempting Daemala. Her first instinct was to snatch it up, stick it on her finger, and find ways to flout it around. She could hold a glass in such a way, filled with such a wine, that all who had eyes would notice how elegant she was-with the ring.

Daemala's cold, pale fingers stretched over the ring, but snapped into a tight fist before making contact with the object. She looked up to Louis, who was grinning smugly.

"You mentioned a key," She said, moving back to her glass of wine. Her eyes flicked periodically back to the ring.

"Ah yes, the ring, more than a simple fashion statement I assure you." Louis added as he pointed out the intricate symbols that bedazzled the eyes with gems encrusted in strange shapes and patterns. The Vampire sighed deeply as he downed the rest of his Gruul only to tap the now empty glass as if asking for more.

"In Paris was a small sect of vampires who fed off the living and drained them dry." Louis clasped his hands together and rested his chin upon the backs of his hands. "Oddly they felt as if rules such as what we have here are not only outlandish but foolish. To think that such a refined creature could fall so far is beyond me." The Prince chuckled slightly. "Though I will be honest I have thought about leaving this place and taking up another path besides this life of luxury."

Daemala whisked the glass up with a halfhearted glare at Louis. What could these Parisian dogs have to do with such a beautiful object, she wondered as the dark amber Gruul swirled into the glass. The vampire was listening intently, and heard the last comment louder than the others. The glass of Gruul was gently placed before Louis. Daemala resumed her wine, but only as an accessory.

"Oh? Where even would you go?" Daemala took a sip and regarded the ring with a tip of her glass, "Back to fall as far as the Parisian dogs?"

"I am not sure." Louis offered his words as a response. The scent of the heated Gruul was appeasing and Louis took up his glass just to take it all in before taking a newfound sip of his drink.

"Maybe I might move around a bit." Louis spoke up once more. "Honestly I would not wish to be hunted down by the very things that cling to life." Louis took another sip of his Gruul only to then look at Daemala and frowned. "To be frank there is nothing truly keeping me here. My studies are all for not and there is little in the way of lively activity around here anymore."

Things had truly grown complacent around the town of Verinotte Hollow as of late. People went about their business and nothing more or less. House parties were a casual indulgence. Local business didn't thrive as it once had, but things managed to stay afloat. Money had a tendency to stay within the gates of the Hollow. Daemala considered the selfish economy in Verinotte Hollow to be one of it's many charming virtues...

...Despite being horrendously boring.

"Well, you'll do what's best for you I suppose. I've an establishment to upkeep, a reputation to withhold, a home to ready for," She stopped abruptly in her speech, choking on the words that wouldn't come. A home to ready for who? Subconsciously Daemala lifted a hand to touch something between her breasts, beneath her dress. She looked to the ring with a new demeanor of sadness.

"You have all these things and yet you are as empty as the entire Hollow."

Louis downed his drink once more only to look over his paper that he had took up earlier on this night. The vampire quickly sifted through the written text only to look back at Daemala as if expecting her to strike him for his comment. Regardless of whatever she would do he would never flinch or show any sign of weakness. His social status was part of the well bred upper echelons of their society and his cold demeanor and well placed words allowed him to traverse many social situations.

"Daemala, why not leave, travel the world and get to know the many things that this world now has to offer." The vampiric prince shook his head. "I hear that the Aschen homeworld might be a bit of interest."

Daemala's dead visage cracked in a wicked grin at mention of the Aschen homeworld. After the havoc of ages past with those types, she doubted a future encounter would be anything in the realm of things she found interesting. However the thought of travel and new things piqued something within her she hadn't felt in a very long time.

Downing the last two gulps of wine, Daemala regarded Louis with curiosity. Could she leave the hollow? It was doubtful, but part of her secretly wondered what else was out there.

"Hm, have you run into any of my kin?" She questioned simply. Digressing from the internal dilemma she hadn't had in some time was an obvious defense mechanism. It was truth. She was as empty as Verinotte Hollow had grown to be. She wondered if anything could change that, glancing back to the ring which sat between them.

Louis shook his head at the obvious question.

"I am sorry Daemala. I have not seen them." The vampire frowned slightly as he looked at his company. "Come and travel with me. We will explore the worlds and maybe get to taste some new things."

Daemala sniffed, turning her back on Louis to finish off the bottle of wine. The glass filled almost to the brim. A sloppy amount. Daemala didn't care. Her mind was running over with everything else entirely. So he had not seen anyone; fine. Fine.

"Perhaps," Daemala said, still not looking to Louis. Damn him.

"What are you doing tomorrow? We can have tea, in the castle, and properly discuss things," Procrastination at it's finest, but she had a lot to think about. Thanks to Louis. Damn him.

Procrastination at its finest indeed. Louis smiled fiendishly as he sat and watched only to shake his head as he stood up from his seat and left his usual tip.

"I am more than willing to stop by tomorrow. Perhaps we can even share in a treat or two." It was with that said that Louis gave a slight nod and vanished from sight.

Had stepped inside a bar, the bar had looked fairly nice, the males hair was rather in a pony tail. He had sat in one of the seats that was opened. He wasn't planning on drinking any time soon, he would just sit, and relax. He had come from a long journey from a town far from this place.

"Indeed."

Louis stepped in from behind the two right out from the shadows that the interior of the castle naturally provided. The man was as pale as marble but seemed equally as lively as Daemala and Zosimos though unlike them it seemed he was a bit more fixated upon the man who was with them. The very natural order of things that would have come surely didn't and with that Louis composed himself and smiled at the hostess.

"You offered a moment of tea earlier. Am I to assume that this is a good time?"

Zosimos could be heard laughing mockingly from the Room of Reason. Daemala rolled her eyes and turned to Louis, giving him a slight curtsy in greeting. He was right on time. Though did he have to slink about as such? She tried not to let it bother her. This was, after all, their home.

"Perfect timing," Daemala said to Louis, "We were just about to get settled, and with another guest. Mac," she gestured towards the mortal, "is an honored guest of Zosimos's." There was something in her tone that conveyed almost a protective sense over the mortal.

"Lilies," She said to Mac, strolling south towards the Room of Reason, "Would be a perfect compliment. We shall order them tomorrow! Shall we?"

The Room of Reason had been spruced, the vases had been refreshed with dead flowers, and the drab atmosphere of politics had almost entirely been replaced by the ambiance of tea time. Remnants of past conversations lingered if one were to look close enough. An aged tapestry with the Vankoryth Detente emblem still hung in a prominent location, among more recent ones depicting scenes from folklore. The old chandelier boasted new candles and a recent dusting; the heavy oak chairs had been reupholstered and polished.

Covering the stone table was an impressively large lace tablecloth. There were ten places set with the castle's best china, and five tea pots sat in a circular parade around a centerpiece of dead roses. A few platters of various treats for the undead, as well as one plate of normal cookies, sat between the tea pots. It was a beautiful display, orchestrated by Daemala and what little staff she'd manage to keep over the many years. One of them even sat on a small stool in the corner.

Zosimos couldn't stop laughing at the sight of it all. How long ago was it, exactly, that a large group of vampires sat around this exact table and plotted death and demise? Where the hell did Daemala even get a lace tablecloth of that size? As Daemala entered the room behind him, Zosimos wiped what tears weren't there.

"You've truly outdone yourself, Daemala," The elder vampire said in that tone she hated. It was all Daemala could do not to shriek. Instead she smiled, gesturing for everyone to take their seats, before lowering herself into what was once her usual spot. Zosimos resumed his across the table from her. It was a notably awkward distance between the two. Zosimos didn't care. It bothered Daemala all too much.

Louis followed suit and found a rightful place for himself to sit. A bemused smile fell upon his lips as he looked upon the room in full recalling passing glances into this particular chamber and maybe even once actually standing within and going over a few documents and treaties. He even smiled more so as he picked up the small cup and looked upon the classic designs and even though the tea had yet to be served the aroma of the hot liquid was by far more tempting than anything.

"Indeed Daemala, you have outdone yourself, I am just curious as to what kind of budget you have gone through in order to procure such fine tastes over the years." Louis smirked only to glance over at the servant who was present giving a knowing nod to them as to what he wanted. However upon glancing back at Mac a slight hunger rose within the vampire. He could hear the man's heart pumping but once again refused his natural instincts and instead offered a warm smile to the young man. After all he was in the company of Zosimos and who was Louis to deny hospitality.

A young male standing about six feet, and two inches tall. He has freakishly long purple hair that would touch his ankle, almost to the floor. He wore frilly suit and a pair of lacy shoes. His clothing include a belt, a feathered hat, and a necktie. The whole ensemble is coordinated in black and dark pink.

It was a long journey for this male known as yamada, he had entered the castle just shortly before coming to this room. He had fixed his tie, and disposed of the hat making it vanish, as he pushes the door open. There he would spot a good four individuals all siting at the round table.

"Hopefully I'm not to late, sadly I just got here." He says with a little bow, as he finds an open seat, and sat in it.

Mac's expression didn't change from neutral, but there was undisguised awe and curiosity in his eyes as he gazed upon the room, admiring its graciousness. He couldn't help but notice that the flowers decorating the whole piece were still dead, just like the ones in the room before, but they added a touch of fragility to the room's beauty, increasing its delicateness. Did it really cost that much to create a room such as this?

If it did, then it was worth their money.

Someone new entered the room, and Mac's eyes quickly took note of him. A guest, just like he was, but someone who was acquainted with the family. Mac waited for everyone to grab a seat before seating himself, giving a warm smile back to the man he knew not the name of, storing the confirmation of fanged teeth at the back of his mind to examine later. "The room does look beautiful," he agreed, settling himself into his chair. He was just about to greet and exchange pleasantries when the door opened to reveal a man dressed in black and dark pink, who quickly took a seat with them.

"I don't think you're late, although the answer lies with Daemala." Mac answered politely, placing the cup back in its original spot. He was merely a guest, after all. He offered a tentative smile at the man, welcoming, if a bit unsure of himself. "Hi, my name's Michael, but you can call me Mac." he introduced himself politely to the two men he knew not the name of, his manners taking over him as he extended a hand out to the two. "It's nice to meet you, Mr..?"
