Luke awoke.
The last thing he had seen was the huge, trothing wave of a tsunami hit his mother. He fainted on the beach. But somehow or another he'd been swept away from there and arrived here alive.
Shocked. That was certainly how he felt as he woke up in an entirely different place to where he was before. With seawater still in his eyes he couldn't easily make out what was what, but it was different for sure: there weren't any cliffs here. Back home they had stretched for miles across the beaches in pure, chalky white.
He cried yet more salt into his eyes as he stood up.
As far as he was concerned, the priority was to find his family again. They had to be out there.
Somewhere.
