Lysaria Lestibournes

A Twinborn looking for some excitement.

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by HitoriRaven

Description

Allomancy
Allomancy is one of the three magic systems in the Mistborn fantasy novel trilogy, and is the most prominent. People capable of Allomancy are known as Allomancers. Allomancers have the ability to "burn" (or use) metals, in order to fuel a variety of physical and mental enhancements and abilities. For an additional burst of power, they may flare, or burn their metal especially quickly, consuming it at an accelerated rate, but gaining greater benefits in return. A person who can only burn one metal is known as a Misting. If a person is born with the ability to burn more than one metal, they can burn all Allomantic metals, and are known as Mistborn.
There are 16 metals that Allomancers are able to use: 8 basic metals (4 base metals and 4 alloys) and 8 Higher metals (4 base metals and 4 alloys). All these metals must be pure when ingested, and the alloys must be mixed to specific proportions. If the metals are impure or mixed wrong the Allomancer could become very ill or possibly die.
The Allomantic metals come in four groupings of four metals: Physical, Mental, Temporal, and Enhancement. Each of these four groupings has two base metals and their corresponding alloys, which in turn have a related ability. Each metal produces an Internal or an External, an Push or an Pull effect.

Feruchemy
Feruchemy is the second magic system in the series. Feruchemy works differently from the other magics. While an Allomancer burns metal to gain power, a Feruchemist can use these sames metals as holding units, or minds, to store up their own power. Basically, depending on the metal, a Feruchemist can become worse at something in exchange to be equally better in the future. No power is gained or lost.
The major strength of Feruchemy versus Allomancy is the speed at which one can access its power. While a Feruchemist must provide the power for the magic from himself, storing it over time, an Allomancer can simply consume metals to power the magic. However, an Allomancer has limits to how much power they can draw at once; a Feruchemist can draw out the power of the metalmind with virtually no upper limit, exhausting it in one massive burst if they so choose. For instance, a Feruchemist tapping a pewtermind can be far, far stronger than even a very powerful Mistborn burning pewter, if only for a short time.

-----------

Lysaria is a Twinborn, a person who has one Feruchemical power and one Allomantic power. She has to power to 'burn' iron, revealing blue lines that lead to her chest. With them, she can 'Pull' on the lines, which lead to metal. Physics still apply; if the item is larger, she goes towards it, if smaller, it comes to her, and if equal, then both move about the same distance. Mistings who can burn iron are know as Lurchers.
As a Feruchemist, she can store fortune, or luck, in a metal called chromium. While storing, Lysaria becomes unlucky, and when tapping, the opposite happens. Ferrings who use chromium are called Spinners.

As a person, Lysaria lives the life of a Twinborn and a courtly lady. Having her powers has given her freedom, she can be both polite and cutting, depending on the situation. For the most part, she is what is described as a 'tomboy', though the word has not gained significance where she comes from. Adventurous, brave, a bit short-tempered and sometimes foolish.

She wears a mistcoat, essentially a jacket with long swirling tassels, occasionally. Otherwise, she usually dressed in a late 18th century style suit, rather than a dress. After all, it's hard to move in one of those. She carries a flask tied to her belt, filled with whiskey and iron shavings. Lysaria also carries hip holsters that holds two Sterion 36's, six-shot revolvers modified to carry various types of bullets. A steel plate is worn on her chest.

Lysaria has long, wavy, blonde hair, which is pulled back into a ponytail when on official business. Her eyes are chocolate-brown and she stands at about 5'2, making her a fairly small target. She is fair enough, as far as looks go, though for the most part tends to hide anything that would get her noticed overtly.

So begins...

"Well, you really know me well, huh?" she commented wryly. "That's true though. I'd never forgive you for hiding something from me, especially if it involved me. So I'm glad you did. And Rai, Rai. I don't need handling. Maybe a shove in the right direction every once in a while."

Following his lead, she grabbed her own chopsticks and began stuffing her face with her own meal, a simple order of rice and stir-fried vegetables. After swallowing a few bites, Lysaria perked up. "So you never answered my question. Anything else you've been up to that I should know of?"

"You made a friend? Well, give me a cloak and call me the Savior. I'm surprised. And a mermaid at that. Is she pretty?" With a sly grin, she nudged the man, knowing that this line of questioning would likely take her nowhere. After her inquiry, she quickly dug back into the food, wolfing it up quickly. Opposite to Raize, who was taking his time, Lysaria was eating as though it was the first meal she'd had in days.

Her mood dropped like a stone. Though the woman had grown used to the look of her companion, she had trouble remembering at times that people would still be put off by his looks. She had simply wanted to help, but realized that this was probably not the way. "Oh, not much. Stopped a few crimes, like you'd think I would. Came around for a few drinks, met some people. This and that."

By then, her bowls were empty and the chopsticks laid on top, neatly pressed together. A small smile tugged at her lips, gracious to him to trying to make her feel better. "No, you're right. I'm definitely not dead, and I don't plan on that changing anytime soon. So please keep take caring of me, Master," she said with only a hint of sarcasm, clasping her hands together and bowing to him.

Lysaria let out an immature giggle as the noodle hit her, and it was quickly brushed to the floor. "Yes, Master. I'll try not to blatantly flaunt the fact that I can make metal objects fly towards me without any noticeable reason. Besides, if there are non-combatant Twinborn coming, then maybe we can make some friends. More of us the better, right?" She picked up her near-forgotten glass of iced tea, taking a large gulp from it.

"I guess you're right. And it wouldn't do for someone else to be in danger just because I want to get involved, huh," she sat, muttering to herself and mulling over his words. "

"And we definitely don't want to draw attention to ourselves, for everyone's sake. Alright, I get it. We'll stay out of sight for now. At least, until you find something new. End well or not, it'll happen without our say. I say we make our actions count."

"Will do. You find your people, I'll find mine." At this statement, Lysaria made a face, sticking her tongue out at no one in particular. "My...'friends.' Well, I'm sure I can find someone I actually like. Until then, I guess finding more out about this is more important than the stupidity of some of the court nobles. Rumours were something they were always good with."

She cracked her knuckles, turning to grin at him. "We should probably get to work. Got a lot ahead of us, yeah?"

"Catch you around, Rai. Don't get hurt," she called back to him. She figured she'd stick around a bit longer, thinking over somethings, but for all intents and purposes, she was gone. Just a few things to think over.

From down the stairs descended a blond-haired woman, ponytail bouncing about, as ever. She quickly hopped down them two at a time, cheerfully heading for the bar. The tassels of her mistcoat flapped as the air rushed past them. The woman gave a glance around the bar, critically observing each patron.

After her conversation yesterday, she was more inclined to be cautious about starting trouble. However, though everyone was weaponized as ever, nothing in particular caught her attention.

"A drink, then," she said to herself, plopping down in a seat.

"Just...here for a drink," the Twinborn told herself, trying to ignore the scathing trade that was happening behind her. She had promised Raize that she would stay low and avoid trouble, and nothing had happened yet, after all.

Instead, she keyed in an order, tapping the counter while waiting. To override the speaking behind her, she began humming a small tune, trying to drown out the noise.

"Just here for a drink, just here for a drink," she repeated, the words becoming a mantra. The humming grew progressively louder, in order to mask the rising pressure behind. However, for all her efforts, she could not ignore the thud of a shot being fired. Not a gunshot, no, but that of an arrow.

Lysaria's head whipped around to check for danger, immediately locking on the man with the primed bow and arrow. "I should've known." Since nothing had happened just yet, the woman simply sat in her seat, ready to spring up at the first case of violence. Just in case, she burned iron, watching for the blue lines she was so familiar with.

The woman panicked, seeing three lines move extremely quickly in her field of view, and she quickly decided whether or not Pulling on them would help or hurt. In an attempt to stay calm, she took a deep breath, and chose not to act for now. Lysaria let out another sigh as the target of the arrows walked out unharmed.

However, her gaze was locked on the man with the bow, watching his movement. Just in case, her hand lingered near the revolver that was always at her hip. It was a fine line between stepping in when absolutely necessary, and not drawing attention to herself.

A finger twitched. It was a very, very, fine line.

Wood creaked softly as the woman hopped to her feet, ready to do something again. However, all she could do was stand in amazement, staring at Wolf, as the arrows seemed to bounce off of him.

"That...that shouldn't be possible. And I shouldn't be surprised, but...still," Lysaria muttered softly to herself. Her hand landed on the revolver anyway, itching to stop the man from causing havoc. Her promise was the only thing stopping her from doing so immediately. After all, no one was hurt. Yet, at least.

With the exit of the seemingly invincible being, Lysaria let out the breath she just realized she'd been holding. The aggressor also seemed to calm down, sitting back again. Her hand lifted, shivering a few more times before it stopped. She was calm again, though there was a still a part of her mind telling her to place a few shots near the man's head.

"Right, just a drink. Juuuuust here for a drink."

Lysaria turned back to her forgotten drink, swilling it around before taking a small sip. Letting out a small sigh, she glanced over at the woman nearby. After a moment of pondering, she decided that her promise to stay low didn't exclude making small talk. As such, the Twinborn subtly hopped off the seat, sliding over next to Nazia.

"Hey there. Something on your mind?" The glass raised, directed at the woman.

That is, until burning sounds erupted from the door behind her. Lysaria quickly threw herself onto the floor, trying to avoid the flames erupting from the monster.

The fire spread, and the woman simply sighed. Now that she was looking at the creature, it was much easier to avoid the gouts of flame coming from the Grenade. With a mock salute to Nazia, Lysaria commented, "Maybe a time when everything isn't going up in flames, eh? I'll watch the place to know when it's safe to come back. Sorry to leave before we could talk." She took off, running for the side door and deftly avoiding any charred ground on the way. This was way beyond her capability to help.

Another voice interjected, though this one was female. "I say if the kid wants to come in here, we let him learn his lesson!" The woman with her blond hair pulled up into a ponytail raised her glass towards the man in the jacket, laughing. "Either he'll man up, or he'll learn not to come into a bar until he's of age," she commented before downing her drink.

"Hey, hey! I'm sure he's just curious. Just let him off the hook, y'know?" the woman called out to Tobias. "You were almost 18 once too, I'm sure." Off-handedly, she flagged down the bartender, nodding at her empty glass. A quick glance around told her that there was too much going on. It would probably have been best to leave, but she couldn't be bothered.

Lysaria simply chuckled at the man. "You were a troubled youth; not all of us were that violent. Given, I probably would've done the same."

She looked to the boy, quirking an eyebrow. "If something bad enough happened that you can't go in there, what makes you think that it's alright for you to be here? Just because this is a bar doesn't mean you can do as you please."

"Eh, if you have 'targets' then you're definitely not one of the good guys. Aren't you too young to be talking like that?" she asked dismissively, reaching for her new drink. "Besides, bringing trouble into an establishment is never good, and that means it was your fault. You should've taken your fight outside. No need to ruin a perfectly good window like that."

Lysaria waved him off with a roll of her eyes. "Kill your own drink. I thought it was custom for men to buy the ladies drinks, not the other way around."

"If your mother tells you off for doing stupid things, then she's a good mother. And if that's what I sound like, then I don't regret it," Lysaria retorted. "I dislike it when people cause trouble." On second thought, she didn't care much for the drink at all. Assuming she had understood his question, the woman slid the glass to Tobias.

"I'm not even sure what you're supposed to be doing. Whatever you're doing that gets people trying to shoot you can't possibly be good. Trouble is trouble, after all," she told the boy.

"Suit yourself." Quirking an eyebrow, her hand swiped up the drink and she tipped it back in one shot. "Yeah, rude to try to get into a girl's pants before the first date, or the first drink. Cocky, emphasis on the former part of the word. In any case, my name's Lysaria, and if you choose to use me in your fantasies when you're sleeping alone, I can't stop you."

"Good note. Maybe one day it'll actually work out for you," she quipped, smirking. "Yeah, tell me how that talk goes. When you find out that you can't get a girl because you can't keep it in your pants, remember I told you so."

"I told you so."
