David glanced back at Fei for a split second, and when he turned back He realized the woman had drawn a gun. David's han drew back towards the grip of his own, but he hesitated and found himself frozen.

Shit. He found himself thinking...was he really this useless?

But there was something that happened for David. He swore he could hear a voice inside of his head, yet coming from the trees. IT was if for him and him alone, the world had slowed....had the exorcist used that trick on him again?

"The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold."

Another woman's voice rang out, and when she finished speaking all returned to normal...almost anyway

David found himself staring into the barrel of the pistol held inches away from his face. But there was something between the gun and his face....A thin wall, transparent yet bright.

David was in awe....and knew this was not of his doing.

The slayer had stopped in her tracks with the gun held out, eyes twitching up and down the barrier. She had lowered the gun, down to David's chest. A bewildered smirk widened across her face. "Ah, what's this?" she asked, lowering the weapon completely. "Some holy spell? Divine magic? Ain't this a thing..."

Fei was just as stunned, but she had scampered back from the wall so quickly that she swore even a God would have only seen a blur.

"Strike now, you idiot"

David blinked as he heard the voice once more. Reacting quickly he slammed his fist against the side of the wall, and to his amazement he sent it flying towards the exorcist.

Without waiting around to see what would happen, David spun around and ran in the opposite direction, grabbing hold of Fei's hood from behind a tree.

"Come on we're getting out of here. Use your magic to make some kind of smoke screen or something."

The wall hit the slayer square, sending her flying back into a tree. She could hear several very audible cracks as she fell to the ground.

Fei watched David with amazement as he pulled her along, but thrust her hand up into the air and cast a glamour around them, doing her best to cloak them both with their surroundings. It would not stop the slayer for long- it was easy to see their footsteps, to hear their racket. "What the hell happened back there!? David!"

David winced in pain, and almost cursed when she hit him. But as she pressed into him he remained silent, a small smirk creeping onto his face. He put a hand on her head and ran his fingers through her hair.

Closing his eyes David found himself having many thoughts fill his mind.

What was going to happen next? He'd have to explain to her what was going on....would she want him to leave like before? Should he even stay? He was only making her a target....but it was too late to stop that now. Was this show even real? Was her behavior genuine? Was she just manipulating him like she claimed to?

Never mind Fei, what was going to happen to him? Did he really have the strength to handle what was coming, to do what he needed to do?

Before he could even begin asking however, the silence was broken by a voice that seemed all too familiar.

"I'm under the impression that this is neither the time nor the place for such a....daring display." It said, slightly annoyed.

When David opened his eyes, he noticed floating in the air before him, the owner of the voice that had begun this. She Had bright orange hair, and he dared to think that she resembled Fei in that respect. The eyes however, were different in the fact that they were a deep crimson staring down at him appraisingly. Her wings, glistening white gold, were outstretched gracefully, unlike her arms that were crossed over her chest.

Jaeda froze, breathless, as she set her eyes onto the angel. It's not like how she pictured them- genderless and swathed in white robes and sort of meaty- but the wings were mostly unmistakable, and she was a pretty little thing indeed.

Fei leaped up and stood between the angel and David, no questions asked, immediately flaring up and consuming herself with the blue and orange flames, transforming into the witch once more.

"Who are you, another one? Fuck off."

"Oh you are such an eloquent one aren't you?" Sighed the woman as she stared at Fei with a rather unimpressed expression. "I suppose it's fitting considering what you are."

The angelic woman floated slightly to her left to get a better look at David, at whom she leveled a glare.

"You just had to pick this one huh?" She sighed shaking her head. "Whatever, not my call to make, I suppose it's barely yours. Could you at least tell her to simmer down? Things'll just get complicated if I have to do it myself."

"Easy, Fei." David said with a wince. "She's on our side....kinda."

The winged woman glanced at Jaeda, cocking her head slightly and putting a hand on her hip. "What? Don't tell me you thought all Angels were the same? Pfft shows what you 'hunters' know."

"More acquainted with your counterparts down below. You could also say I'm early into my career," the slayer informed the angel, clipping her chakram onto her belt. She managed a smirk. "Didn't know you all could be so sassy, either."

Fei's expression darkened, which caused the space around her to do the same for a brief few seconds. In a flick, the energy dispelled.

"Why. Are you here," growled the witch.

"What part of 'on your side' do you not get?" Madelyn said, scrunching her eyebrows at Fei. "Don't tell me that you really are as dumb as you look?"

She sighed tiredly with a shrug. "Oh well. Anyway." She pointed a lazy finger at David.

"That one knows the rules. There are things I'm allowed to say, and things I'm not. For now, I'll tell you who I aim." She looked at Jaeda with a smirk.

"You're probably most familiar with those 'normal' angels, or boring ones, as I call em. You see, those are the ones that were always angels. Me, I'm a special case. But I can't discuss that issue any more unless I want to get in trouble. Which I don't. Anyway," She took an elegant pose. "I am-"

"Magdalene." David interrupted, much to the dismay of the angel who frowned heavily.

"Oh you're just a great big know it all aint ya?" She huffed. "Anyway, yes and no. I am the Magdalene you speak off, except I'm only a version. I am known as Madelyn, much more of a modern sound to it don't you think?"

Despite their differences, Jaeda and Fei exchanged slightly confused glances, then directed their eyes up at the angel.

"Uh, sure," said the slayer, folding her arms. "So... ah... I guess I should direct this question to Daaavid-" She turned on her toes to face the boy bleeding out on the ground. "Whyyy is she here? What's going on? We never really spoke about this."

Pausing, Jaeda took a whack at the witch's arm. "Oh, and for Godsake, heal your boyfriend, yeah? I know you've got weird blood powers or somesuch."

Fei growled at the slayer. "Don't touch me."

She knelt down to inspect the wound and do what she could. "So yeah, why're you here if you can't tell us shit?"

"Why am I hear?" Madelyn gawked. "I'm here because I'm supposed to be here. Besides, I never aid I was going to tell you nothing, all I said was that there were rules, rules I have to follow."

She cleared her throat for a moment before doing a twirl, pointing a finger straight at David when she finished.

"David here is something of a special case, you could even compare him to myself. Compare, not combine. Now those Fallen brats probably mentioned that Hell is starting an uprising, well you see there are three factions to this imminent war. There's us, Heaven, angels, guardians, whatever you wanna call us. Then there's the Hellspawn. Demons, monsters, and," She smirked at Fei. "Witches."

"Finally we have the impatient pricks that you encountered today, the fallen, treacherous heretics that are like a combination of the two other forces. Now then, you're probably asking what this all has to do with you. I can't specifically say, but what I can say is that by being familiar with David here, you've brought it on yourself."

"The visions that you put in my head..." David started quietly. "They weren't very clear but, I think I get the gist of the situation. I just, I don't know how I'm supposed to accomplish all of it..."

"Well you've got plenty of help don't you?" Madelyn sighed with hands on her hip. "I mean you've got two lovely ladi- well...two females here who are pretty strong. And guess what? I'm allowed to give you one clue." She smiled, beaming with self satisfaction.

Pointing right at Fei she grinned. "You should take a trip somewhere familiar, it might hold some answers for you. You might get stronger too."

Fei lifted her chin slightly, then arched an eyebrow. "Uhuh. Sure. Be all cryptic n' shit," mumbled Fei, prodding at David's wound, which would start to freeze over in a thin layer to stop the bleeding.

Jaeda bit down on her lips, thinking. "He won't have me on his side, I'm afraid. If I stay with them for too long, I'm going to have to kill her-" Jaeda pointed to Fei, frowning. "And I don't think any of us here want that. I was supposed to kill her a long time ago. I shouldn't even be here right now. There's other people, though." She turned back to glare at the both of them. David and Fei.

"People who can teach you both some control and tactics instead of trying to blow things to bits."

Madelyn nodded to Jaeda. "Well to be fair your role in all of this was supposed to be fairy limited. But make no mistake your actions will not go unappreciated."

Turning to David her smile faded. "Seek out the path that has been shown to you. You will find your strength, and your answers." Looking down at her wrist Madelyn sighed. "Well time for me to go, see ya later. Good luck and all."

With a short wave he angel's wings tucked in for a moment before she went soaring up into he sky.

Jaeda looked toward the couple behind her and faintly smiled. Before she could reply to the angel, she disappeared, flying upward. Just like that.

Fei did her best to pretend that the angel hadn't just visited and that everything was as it was before all that had happened. "So, how's the wound? Does it hurt?"

"Shock's wearing off so yeah, pain is starting to set in." David mumbled as he stared up at the sky. He watched the setting sun hide behind the clouds. He stared and stared, as if watching a movie unfold in front of him, until finally he blinked. Lowering his gaze he looked to the huntress that had helped him, his enemy that had become an ally....

Perhaps.

Finally after a moment of thought he turned to Fei. He looked at her with an expressionless face as he studied hers, waiting almost a minute before smirking.

Cuspid cursed to herself, did she lose the guy already? She spun around and sniffed 'til she spotted him. Never mind all that, they had to get out of this part of the wood. They couldn't be far off from the Castle, and from the sonar bouncing around the trees, shit was goin' down.

"Alright, once we clear these trees, it's basically a straight shot north."

"Twenty? I'll certainly make good use of twenty," She continued to twirl the ring around her finger, and had no intentions of taking it off.

"Tell me, Lord Draco, is there anything I should be wary of, regarding the Commandos?"

Draco paused for a moment as she asked if there was anything to worry about. He turned his head towards one of the Commandos, who didn't move at all. Not even a nervous twitch. "They have no sense of privacy. They will come to you when called no matter what you are doing." he looked back to Daemala. "Their silence doesn't help. If you're not actively searching for them, they'll appear next to you or behind you and you'll never know."

"If I'm not searching for them? Meaning, if I leave them behind, they will find me regardless?" She wasn't sure how she felt about all of that, and regarded the Commando with a sideways eye. They rumbled closer to the castle.
