The subject Malcolm Chapel, or Plague as on the record, is an interesting individual. During states of lucidity between the restrictive drug treatments he receives daily to stay subdued, Malcolm shows an incredibly insight into matters and an intelligence which surprises - and frightens me. Brain scans indicate during these periods an incredible amount of brain activity in the cerebral nodes, triple the usual level of activity shown in humans and bordering on the quantity which the Zahni show.

However, what frightens me more than this level of awareness is the other side of the patient, we discovered early on that Malcolm suffers from a severe state of schizophrenia, an abstract case in which both sides are aware of each other and rather than being the same person with differences, they are completely different consciousnesses, each with the capability to control the body. It seems like normal people, one will enter a sleeping state after activity, giving the other full reign.

I have, unfortunately spoken with this other consciousness, much to the destitution of my remaining sanity after extended exposure. Plague, is what he calls himself - after Malcolm's field name - and this thing really as he tends to call himself, a Plague. A plague upon all of us here. Plague shows no remorse, no bias, it kills indiscriminately. Whilst field reports of the actions Malcolm (or probably Plague) took aren't in my jurisdiction, I requested them anyway to compare to the word of mouth stories I was given by the being inside the mans head.

What I found was... disturbing, not only does he show no remorse, he relishes in killing and it gets worse. He makes Malcolm better at it, as we are aware of his... abilities, Plague expands on these, inventively and metaphysically, we've seen power spikes and brain wave activity sky rocket during his waking periods, its terrifying.

The subject showed signs of resistance against the drug treatment today, after so many months of keeping him confined, it had to happen eventually. We spent so many days and lives devising a way to keep him from being responsive in the past, it appears our work shall soon be unraveling. We found we had to double the dose - which meant getting close to him, poor Jimmy got caught during what we've started to call his 'waking moments', poor guy... was a good kid, nothing left of him to send back to his family. Only thing that'll be left for them is a tombstone with no body to put under it.

It boggles me and everyone else though how this... Malcolm can do it, from all the preliminary tests we can't find anything physically about him as to explain his abilities, heck the higher ups, even the Commander who wanted this guy captured so badly for his secrets aren't particularly interested in continuing the research anymore, the next step would be dissection but if that turned up nothing. We'll lose everything.
