Marc would push the door to the den open and step in. This was not his first time to this establishment though one might not call him a regular patron either. He wore a long coat over his body and a fedora on his head. Moments after entering the establishment he remove the hat and placed it on a nearby hat rack before crossing the room towards the bar counter.

To most it would seem he was oblivious to the scene around him as he approached the bar and took a seat. In reality He saw everything as he crossed the room but there was no reason for him to stare and ogle.

"One of you're beer's on tap please, surprise me." He would suddenly say aloud to whomever was currently on staff.

Alek was on his second round of this joint's swill. He had to hand it to whoever was the owner, the sure knew their stuff about the finery of alcohol. But the bar was quiet. He even thought about moving on to a different location for this evening.

But that sweet, intoxicating smell hit him before he could move, reminding him of the last time he had fed. It only made it worse as the man's scent was so fresh in the stench of the wolves around him. His eyes grew dark and he clenched the mug in his hand tighter. He made himself stare straight down at the floor, keeping his face as smooth as he could possibly muster.

"I'll need another one too, keep.." He finally muttered, containing his lust for blood by inhaling through his mouth instead of his nose. Taking another drag on his cigarette, he slowly turned to face the new comer, assessing him slowly. His golden eyes glowing slightly from under his brimmed hat.

Marc noticed Alek in his peripheral vision, he glanced the man over a few times as if calculating something though he did so subtly. His training already kicking in as he immediately tagged the guy as a Vampire. A night child in a pack strong hold...this is intriguing. He thought to himself.

He noticed the way he was attempted to control himself the tight grip on his mug, the avoiding glance, the switch to inhaling by mouth to avoid having to smell the scent.

Marc sighed internally this was going to be a slight problem in his plans tonight if this guy couldn't control his thirst Marc was going to have to be forced to act, or at least defend himself. Though if he did act here he would blow his cover and probably never step foot in a place like this again if he actually made it out of here alive.

Turning slowly he faced Alek with a cool and friendly demeanor, "New to these parts?" He asked.

Exhaling a puff of cigarette smoke through his nose. He knew nothing of the native language here, so Marc's words went over his head. He normally was good at picking up the native languages by sitting in bars such as this, but Marc had been the only one to show up since he arrived.

"I haven't the slightest of what you're asking me, stranger." His deep voice boomed, his accent thick and similar to a Scott's. He probably told Marc his answer just by saying that. The keep brought him the next round and he took a swallow of it, still trying to wash the scent of human blood away from him. The liquor nearly choked him every time he swallowed as a way to remind him he was a vampire. But by this point, he was use to it. Part of his punishment by god, he kept telling himself.

He turned to face Marc fully, his silver cross flashing in the light of the bar. Alek had the look of a hunter about him. His eyes carried a weight to them that only hunters had.

Marc watched as the man looked confused before he said something in common. Marc would smirk at Alek's response, "I think that answers my question." Marc replied in common. "So you are new to here where about's do you hail from?" He asked.

As he spoke he noticed Alek's style. A vampire dressed like a hunter in a werewolf bar, this guy must have a death wish... Marc thought as he took a sip of his beer.

He took another drag on his cigarette before extinguishing the used butt. "I don't remember if I ever hailed from one place or another. It has been a long time since I've settled too long in any one place, I'm afraid." He replied, the smoke from the last drag leaving his mouth as he spoke.

"I typically travel here and there, seeing things along the way. This city interested me at some point, so I made a point to stop here and visit for a while. You seem to be a local, so you must know about most the places around here." He made a point to hand another gold coin to the keep. "For him." He said, pointing to Marc. "I'd like to learn more about this .. city."

In fact Alek did have a death wish. As long as no one threatened him, he'd remain observing from here. He just hoped his blood lust would not get the better of him this evening.

Marc would nod listening to the man, "We don't get a lot of new comers around these parts. This is a dangerous city." Marc said as he took another sip of his beer.

"I can tell you about this place if you like, theres a lot to this city though more than I could tell you in one night. What specifically are you looking to know?" Marc added.

The man gave a deep, throaty chuckle that would make anyone's hair stand on end. "How to simply put that I want to know everything..?" He grinned, his pearly whites nearly glowing from the the shadows under his brimmed hat.

"I don't have to learn it all tonight, and not by one person.. But I am a traveler, and my specific interest is the entire city. Who are the leaders.. What locations are decent, and others like this neighborhood that are.. Lacking in official authority. I want to know the good places to eat, to drink, to find information out.. But you would only be a start to my knowledge of this city. The rest is experiencing it for myself."

He pulled a pack of cigarettes out from inside a pocket within his long leather coat. Lighting a new one, he inhaled the toxic fumes deeply before offering Marc one. "The name is Alek."

Marc nodded, "Leadership on a governmental level just your typical bureaucratic pinheads." He mumbled. "But there's much more to this city I'm sure you have probably seen on the television up there about it's supernatural groups. This city has been infested with a plague of uncontrollable monstrosities."

"I suggest not walking alone in the dark. Avoid the phantom quarter, This neighborhood is a tad rough though if you can handle yourself you should be fine." Marc said. He paused sipping his beer waiting to see Alek's response. This was going to be a toss up if Alek could control himself Marc would let the guy walk if he felt the guy was going to go feral on him Marc was going to have to think up a way to take the guy down, preferably not in this establishment.

The smile on Alek's face never faded, but Marc would be able to feel the shift in the vampire's mood. It was hard to explain the shift, as it seemed to go from casual and relaxed, to disgusted and disappointed. He retracted his offer for the cigarettes, shoving the pack back into the hidden pocket of his jacket.

Alek lowered his voice to where only Marc and possibly the bar keep could hear. He slowly shifted his gaze back to Marc. "You're a brave one to wonder in such dangerous parts, alone even.. You aren't necessarily untrained yourself, or you wouldn't be here.. I wonder what organization would like to claim you.." He said, hinting at other accusations although not voicing them fully. He was sure this man worked for the church now. Only reason why he would have remained so interested in Alek.

"I had heard there was some.. problems with the creatures of the moon and night here. I had heard that there were some protections for the children of the moon, but none for the night children, correct..?" He muttered around his lit cigarette, however he kept his his composure by gripping on to the cross that hung around his neck. "I guess the church here only sees the dead as monstrosities, but not the inflicted."

Marc would listen to Alek with a stone face as he quietly called him out for what he was. He's good. Marc thought amusingly. He would continue to listen and as the man spoke further his stone face would reveal a smirk.

"You're right about the church, but I'm not part of those mambo jumbos." Marc said "And just to let you know you are alright in my book clearly you can control yourself." Marc said in an almost in comprehensible whisper though he was sure that Alek would be able to hear. "If you want to know more about this city and want some help settling in I can help you."

As Marc said this he pulled a small disposable phone out of his pocket and handed it to Alek. There was only on number on the phone and it was rigged to only make one call. "One ticket to help you out if you want to know more about this city and if you really want to help that can get intouch with me." He said, he tossed some money on the table and got up patting Alek like a friend on the shoulder before he walked out of the bar.

The vampire took the phone and glanced at it curiously. Even more peculiar was the way the man acted as he left the table. Narrowing his eyes at Marc, he never let slide that he had never given him his name in return of Alek's introduction. This was a slight thorn in his side, but he'd let it slide for now.

Taking a deep draft off the cigarette, he began to chuckle darkly. "I'm sure we'll be in touch then.." He said. He slid the cellphone into one of his inside pockets. This could be a trap for him, or it could be a genuine invitation. Either way, he now knew there was more than three major factions at work upon this city. And that could work to his advantage.

Marc sat on a bench in a secluded park. The sun had just set but he was sipping out of a warm to go coffee cup. It was nights that would be his day for tonight. He had talked to Alek the day before and set up to meet the man here. He had an offer to make to Alek whether or not he would take it was an entirely different story.

Alek had waited until the night to appear. He would burst into flames in the sun, but he certainly wasn't at his full strength during the day. He didn't trust Marc fully yet, but seeing there was no news out for him yet, he assumed that Marc wasn't about to kill him.

Alek slowly emerged from the shadows, his golden eyes the only thing Marc could make any detail off until he stepped into the light. Lighting a cigarette and taking a draft, he would speak in Quelish. "So it seems you've come.. You said you had an offer for me..?" His accent was a bit rough and he spoke slow, but it seems he has learned the language well enough to use it and understand it within few weeks time.

"I'm pretty sure you already know what I am.." He said, puffing out the toxic smoke.

Marc would nod, "I do and I have no inclination to kill you. I suppose you've peaked my interest. Would you mind if we chatted a bit before I extend my offer?" Marc asked motioning to the bench.

"I'm wondering what drew you out here, and what you are looking for in this city. If you tell me this I will tell you about who I work for and what to watch out for in this city. After this I will extend my offer to you." Marc said with a nod. The park seemed empty the exact reason Marc chose it open but with some cover but no hiding places. The perfect area to talk without prying ears or eyes.

Alek would not move from where he was standing. "I do not dare sully the air of one deemed savable by my Lord." He said quietly. "I also have not fed in quite some time, and I do not know how well I can control myself sitting so close to you." He spoke honestly. "It seems your hospitals do not have a vampire feeding program like many other cities.." He grumbled.

His eyes grew brighter as he pondered Marc for a moment. "What draws me to this place is the darkness that is eating at the underbelly of this city. The church here has grown too slack and has let evil into this place. I am looking to cleanse this city.." He took another draft from his cigarette. "Already five have fallen. But there are so many more.."

"No one will stand in my way to achieving my goal of eliminating the corrupted.. And when my job is done, and if my lord has decided that my job was not enough to redeem my damned soul.. I will end my own life."

Marc would listen but as he listened further his face would darken. The way he was talking Marc could help him with the feeding but the rest was starting to trouble him.

"Who, are these that are corrupted? Who have you eliminated?" Marc asked. He would be keeping an eye out now, in the bar he had misunderstood what this guy had mean't. He wasn't for helping others sure he seemed to want to put the bad ones down but this? No this was different, this guy was starting to trouble Marc.

"Just a few ants that have killed hundreds of your kind without the thought or care." He slowly began to walk away. "The tainted. The damned... There is no hope for us.."

"The first one I followed for two days. A werewolf. Murdered an innocent girl after taking her innocence away.." He explained. "The second, a vampire, feasted on the men she lured into her bed until they were sucked dry.. The third robbed a man and shot an innocent bystander. The fourth, fed greedily upon young women. The fifth part of a gang of thugs that killed for initiation." He explained.

"Deep down, we have this need, this.. Dark desire to harm the human race, to bring them to the darkness, so they too cannot be saved.." He turned back to Marc, but stood in the shadows. "It is our nature to be killers." He said, his eyes glowing brightly by this point. "Lycan and Vampire alike. We are brothers of the darkness. But humans.." He held up his pointer finger. "Humans have the capability to choose.. To follow a lighter path, or walk the path of darkness. And I must preserve your race, for that very reason.."

He fell backwards onto his back suddenly, looking up into the sky with a sigh. "If we had hope.. If we could return from this darkness.. I would have done so a long time ago.." He murmured.

Marc listened to Alek, he was clearly doing what Marc and the rest of the society did for a living but, there was something else about this man. He sounded like the Church. Marc didn't like this one bit, he could still offer assistance but that might not be the best choice here. He may have to take some preemptive action.

"And how do you hope to preserve our race?" Marc asked with a raised eyebrow.

"By exterminating the threat.. By any means necessary.. Until there is a way to revert us back from the depths of darkness we have been driven to.." He murmured. "But that can only happen by the grace of our Lord.." He said barely above a whisper. Alek slowly slid his hand underneath his jacket and held his hand on the butt of his pistol.

By Marc's very questions, Alek had figured that Marc wasn't too happy with the answers. His golden eyes burned bright in the darkness around them. "So am I damned to you as well, my friend..?"

"It depends how far you are going." Marc said, "If you are wanting to help your kind and only act against them when necessary then I believe I can help you. " Marc said

"But, if you just want the destruction of your kind then we do not stand aligned." Marc said pausing. "However you look hungry I can offer you a place and an alternative feeding method. You will have to trust and follow me to the university. We will have to check you in. After what you have said I cannot guarantee your safety if you want to eat without attacking a human you can follow me. " Marc said turning on his heels and leaving the park.

Alek slowly stood up. The thought of sustenance without attacking a human was tempting, oh so very tempting. But following Marc may end to his demise eventually. "This is where we part ways, friend.." He said reluctantly. "I had hoped that you saw things my way, then perhaps there was some hope.. But I was wrong.."

He turned his back to Marc and started off in the opposite direction. "Next time we meet, we will be enemies.. And I hope to God you put the bullet in me first.."

As the gunshots were ringing out around the neighborhood, the noises of battle did not go unheard. Marc had been working another assignment in the district when he heard the shots. Moving in the direction he watched as Alek was in what appeared to be a fatal shoot out. He had a gut feeling that the guy was going to have to be put down and seeing this left Marc with no doubt as to why the vampire was being attacked.

I tried to warn him but it appears this is what he's come to.Marc though as he remove his coat quickly and tossed it to the ground. Marc closed in from yet another direction approaching Alek from a sidewalk keeping a moderate distance. As he was approaching he began to toss three throwing knives of blessed silver aimed for Alek's mid section.

He knew this wasn't the best way to take down someone like this but he couldn't risk any debilitating effects without risking the lives of the others and approaching as an unknown assailant, he wanted to make clear that he was on their side.

Alek's bullets had both struck Bastien, one in the chest, one in the stomach to leave the man writhing on the ground. He managed to roll over onto his side, fingertips outstretched for the shotgun.

His body screamed in protest, and his legs felt leaden and sluggish as he tried to get a hold of his gun.

As his fingers closed around the butt of the weapon he jerked it over to him and rolled onto his back. With shaking arm, he pointed the muzzle at Alek's knee and squeezed the trigger.

The gun recoiled and he let it fall to the ground.

Meanwhile, Julienne still didn't have a clear shot. The lot of them could have been peppering Alek with bullets, had Bowen not engaged him in hand to hand, and now with Snow approaching from the building, she was just as likely to strike him, as she was to hit Alek.

"Fuck me," she bit out.

They had left her, Claire, and Chandler out here in the event Alek tried to escape through the window. They hadn't made plans for everyone to jump out the window after him and put themselves in the line of fire. The pair had effectively rendered her and Claire's position useless unless they wanted to risk friendly fire.

Bowen had backed from pursuit, but no sooner had he done so did Alek receive a gun shot blast to the chest. The man stumbled back a step or two, coughing and had not yet recovered when another shot came. The third would not hit as he rolled to the side.

No sooner had he regained footing, did three blades get tossed from a direction Alek had not anticipated an attack from. He bared his fangs at Marc. "You traitorous devil!" He gave a choking cry. He ripped the blades from himself, spinning to throw the silver blades towards Snow as hard and as fast as he could.

Bastien's shot took him straight in the knee and he cried out in agony as he fell forward, landing with his hands on the ground.

He was outnumbered and very injured by this point. He had no choice. His eyes caught glimpse of the storm drain, and he took his opportunity. His body seemed to fade away into a red haze that floated in the air where Alek had once knelt. The red haze moved with haste, escaping to the storm drain and the catacombs below the city.

Claire hissed her displeasure, her eyes growing blood red. She raced over to the storm drain and looked at Bowen. "I'm going after him, sir." She said. She would wait for his order, but he would know she could follow Alek closer than anyone at this moment.
