Description

Image

Name: Marissa Jane Highland

Face: Hermione Granger, played by Emma Watson

Age: 23

Race: Caucassion

Height: 5' 8"

Weight: 120

Personality

She's a master martial artist.

Marissa, also called Mari, has always been on top. She would never take no for an answer and she never backs down from a challenge.

She's relatively a nice person. She's extremely sarcastic.

Deep down, she is a caring person and if you asked her nicely enough, she'd do it for you

She also has a pretty spicy attitude if you rub her the wrong way.

Equipment

Like stated above, she's a master martial artist, so she usually uses her body to fight.

Though, she does have a few weapons of choice. One is her bow and arrows. She is a known marksman and she isn't afraid to show it.

She also carries a knife with her for, you know, stabbing things. It's also used for close-ranged combat where she can find use for it.

Marissa Highland was very new to Wing City, and she didn't know where she was. She found a little place called Gambit's. She thought it looked like a relatively friendly place. She pushed the door open and walked in.

The bar was relatively crowded, and she had to weave through people in order to get to the other side where the bar was located. Once she reached there, she ordered what she would order at a normal bar. "Scotch on ice, please," she said to the bartender. Then she sat there an waited, her quiver of arrows and bow strung behind her back, her knife safely in it's holster at her hip.

Marissa Highland was sitting at the bar, trying to figure out what was going on in the bar and wondering why she was there. She took an arrow out of her quiver and started to twirl it in her hand. She got bored quickly and returned it. Then, she took out her phone and plugged in her earphones. She looked up some of her music and found a favorite song of hers and cranked up the volume. She bobbed her head to the music, not really caring who saw or anything. People could call her crazy, but she was anything but.

Marissa Highland felt that someone had poked her shoulder. She jumped, a bit startled at what had just happened. She then removed one earplug and looked at him. "May I help you?" she asked him.

Marissa Highland walked into the bar, confused about how she left from the night before. "I must have been sleep walking," she mused to herself. She walked to the counter and ordered her usual. "Scotch on the rocks," she said. Then she grabbed her earphones and cranked up the volume, listening to Evanescence.

Marissa Highland felt someone prod her neck and she turned. She noticed the man from last night sitting beside her and she took out one earphone. "Can I help you?" she asked him, not realizing that she knew him yet. She didn't really get to talk to him much last night. Without waiting for an answer, she plugged her earphone back in and started bobbing her head to "Bring me to Life" by Evanescence.

Marissa Highland looked up and then finally removed her earphones from her ears. "That was my favorite song," she said, miffed. Her drink arrived and she took a sip from it. "I'll ask again. How may I help you?" she asked him. Her hand was casually placed on the hilt of her knife, in case he decided to attack her.

Marissa Highland laughed at that. "You've never seen headphones before?" she asked sarcastically. Who was this guy? Then, she sensed anger boiling up inside him and that made her anger boil. "You better watch yourself," she said casually. She didn't want to attack this nice looking man standing, or sitting, in front of her. "It's music. It soothes the soul and other crap like that," she said, indicating her iPod screen to show what she was listening to. She still heard the bass through her earphones, so she lowered the volume and then pressed pause.

Marissa Highland walked into the bar. She again did not know how she actually left, but she was back, because she didn't get to finish her drink from last time. She saw the man from before, but didn't approach him. She cranked up her music and walked to the bar. "Scotch on the rocks," she asked. She sat down, waiting for her drink.

Marissa Highland heard someone say something and she looked over to Sont. He seemed to ask a question. She unplugged her earphones and raised her hand. "I don't know what I'm volunteering for, but I guess I'll be a candidate.

She noticed that someone was next to her, as well, and she turned to him. He was looking at her questioningly. "If you're wondering what I'm listening to, it's "Bring me to Life" by Evanescence."

Marissa Highland looked at the man that mentioned the egg. "What the hell?" she asked. But then he showed it to them and she was caught in its enchanting beauty.

She turned to the man called Dom. "Oh, I'm sorry. I just like to drown out annoying sounds of the people around me," she said rudely. She wasn't in a particularly good mood now, since she had been interrupted.

Marissa Highland walked into the bar. She was exhausted, but she didn't know why. It was probably the day and hour that it was. Not that it was late or anything. She walked up to the tender and order her usual. "Scotch on the rocks," she said. Then she walked away to sit at a nearby table. She observed the people there. She didn't see anyone she knew, so she didn't approach anyone. She just looked at the occupants of the bar and sat there.

Marissa Highland noticed a girl with bright red hair walk into the bar. Marissa loved to interest herself with new people. She also didn't have anything to do, so she walked over to the girl and stood at the table. She didn't want to be rude, so she tapped the girl lightly on the shoulder. "May I?" Marissa asked.

Marissa Highland took the seat next to her and then sat there awkwardly, not really knowing how to start a conversation. "Um, my name is Marissa, but call me Mari. Or Rissa. Whichever you prefer," she said. Then she looked over to the person who came up to the table. She looked at him strangely. He seemed to be floating some, but she didn't really want to know. She knew that he was walking, but it seemed, almost graceful. She shrugged. "Hello to you," she said.

Marissa Highland smiled back at Nist. "Nice to meet you," she said. "I'm kind of new here, so I guess I have to learn the ropes," she said, shrugging. She looked at the man who had approached her. "Awfully popular, you are," she told Nist.

"Oh, well, I said hello to you anyway, because I thought the hello was general," she said to Meras. "I guess you didn't really want to talk to me." She turned and the tender brought her her drink and she took a sip and almost spit it out. "It's called 'on the rocks' for a reason! Can I have some ice?" she asked.

Marissa Highland looked at Meras. "I like making friends, and since I don't know many people here, I don't really talk to many people. I've only just been allowed to have freedom," she said. "I train every day with no breaks." 'Maybe that's why I'm so exhausted,' she thought to herself. She shrugged.

"Conversations isn't really something I'm good at, but I'm willing to try," she said to both of them. Then she looked up at the man with silver hair. "Nice hair," was all she said. She didn't know what else to say. She was very socially deprived except at home, where she had to use honorifics and other stuff when she talked to anyone of her family. Her father was a "sir" and she wasn't allowed to call him any different. Or she would call him "Master" but that didn't go over well with her.

She sighed, and sipped her drink again once her ice came. "Mm, that's some good stuff," she said to herself.

Marissa Highland sighed. "I wish I was on my own. I'm never left alone. I'm always training, and my father never really let's me sleep or rest long enough for me to grab on to even an inkling of energy. Honestly, I don't even know how I'm functioning right now. Maybe it's because I'm so used to it," she said with a shrug. "I'm just glad that my father isn't trying to control my life anymore. I'm a 23 year old girl, I think I can take care of myself. My first day of freedom was 3 years ago. It increases each year. Now I'm allowed out for 10 hours. Last year, it was 5. The year before, it was 1," she said.

Marissa Highland laughed at her suggestion. "Yeah, right, like I could do that. As the oldest, I have a reputation to live up to. If I don't do it, I get beaten, simple as that," she said. "I wish I could, but that's not until I'm 25." She sipped her drink some more. "My parents want me to become a warrior. I want to do that, too, but if they keep working me like this, I'm gonna be dead before I could even get started. I sleep only sometimes," she said. "Whenever I get the chance to, or when I'm here, using the hours I have. I train all day. I don't eat, sometimes."

Marissa Highland shrugged. "I guess I got it pretty well in hand," she said. "It's hard, but I like it, sometimes. I could beat anyone who challenges me, that's for sure." She smirked.

Marissa Highland watched Nist and her expressions. "I've got body skills. Nimble," she said. "But my bow here is pretty trusty and I do pride myself with a blade or two." She sighed. "I do like fighting with my fists the best and most effective way," she replied, answering her question. "What's a matter?" Mari asked, when she saw that Nist was gritting her teeth.
