Personality

Matthew is very much a man of two faces, but overall an intimidating and thick-skinned individual, he is the kind of man you wouldn't want to run into in a dark ally.

If a person is pleasant to him, does what he wants them to and doesn't talk back, he is a perfectly amicable person, being capable of intelligent discussions and having a deft hand at poker and other card games. The way he carries himself wouldn't give anyone cause for concern as he looks like a simple, normal man with no standout qualities... Certainly no problems with anger, obsession and control.

Behind closed doors, or on some occasions in plain sight, his true persona will reveal itself to be one of a cruel and sadistic mind, wishing to control and keep under his thumb anything or anyone that he can. His obsessive nature also causes him to focus on a particular person once they have captured his eye and never let them leave his mind. This obsession that he has does not restrict itself to verbal abuse and control, frequently he turns violent on partners, work colleagues, anyone who he feels has acted badly towards him, and though this behavior has send him to prison numerous times, he seems to be in no hurry to change... Anyone would think he enjoys the suffering he causes.

Equipment

He carries a simple switchblade in his back pocket, and recently acquired a small pistol from one of his many 'connections'.

Matthew Shepard A quiet ringing sound would come from one of Iante's pockets as, evidently the medic had a late night caller.

Matthew Shepard The sound of fumbling would reach Iante's ear, as if the phone at the other end was moving around against something, and a voice sounding similar to Kei's would mutter quietly, an angered undertone to his words. "... Won't say it... Leave or... Shoot... Stupid games..." His words could only be partially heard due to the constant fumbling of the phone, and once the mage ceased speaking a definite click would be heard; The click of a gun. "... Die soon... Doesn't matter..." Kei's voice came again.

Matthew Shepard The phone would fall silent and very faint mumblings would be heard, though what they said would be unknown due to a hand being placed firmly over the speaking end (Iante wasn't to know that of course, but still.) After several moments Kei's voice came again, quieter. "Iante... I want you to put down the phone and pretend that you never got this call, and if the same number calls ign-" Said words were cut off by a loud bang followed by a thud of a body hitting the floor.

"How unreasonable." A second voice, one that would be easily recognized by the Irishman sighed heavily before speaking directly into the phone. "An annoying man you have here, dearest September..."

Matthew Shepard was silent on the phone for several long moments before finally speaking, his tone clearly irritated. "Well now is that the only response I get? Still... It's good that you remember me, good indeed..." The sound of fumbling would again be heard. "How are you, sweetheart? Did you miss me? I missed you very, very much."

Matthew Shepard let out a sound that could have easily been mistaken for a growl, and a second loud bang would be heard. "Now, September... That tone wont do at all, will it? I will be very upset if you keep behaving so rudely... And, what?" He chuckled quietly. "Don't touch him? Why on Earth not?" A brief pause. "Guess what I just did, September?" He laughed again, though louder and cleared his throat after a moment. "Anyway, enough chat about this man. Lets talk about you and me, hm?"

Matthew Shepard sighed heavily and his voice took on a tone of mock sorrow. "Oh September... You don't seem to care at all about me... Why not? After the many years we were together you care more about him than me!?" His voice had grown gradually louder in volume, Matthew's temper clearly flaring and a smaller thud would be heard, much like someone kicking something soft. "He wont die quite yet. Though his arm is a bit of a mess." Matthew hissed quietly, the thud sounding again. "Now then, dear September, are you going to be nicer to me? To behave?" Suddenly his tone was normal, even cheerful.

Matthew Shepard was silent for a moment, then a fairly quiet click was heard; the phone being put down. A string of loud thuds would then be heard, several small bangs and the smallest hint of whimper. The phone was then picked up, Matthew sounded cheery still. "Alright, dear. I promise not to hurt him anymore." he chuckled and spoke again. "Now then, we need to talk about us. We need to be together and speak face to face. This... Kei, is it? Can't really be here, you understand?" A pause. "I won't hurt him anymore, that was the promise, yes?"

Matthew Shepard frowned, though Iante couldn't see the displeasure would be clear in his tone. "And still you don't seem to care at all about me... This is... Making me upset, September... I already told you, he wont die yet. His arm is a mess, that is all." He was lying, but the Irishman wasn't to know that either. "We will meet and talk. Tomorrow. At around 10pm, that sounds right." There was no room for questioning anymore, Matthew's tone was firm and harsh.

Matthew Shepard seemed to be happy at the response, surprisingly so. "Oh good. We can catch up, talk about old times, plan the future too... Oh it will b so wonderful, my Septe-" He faltered slightly, lapsing into silence. "Oh dear... He is waking up... Let's see... I can't hurt him... What should I do?" Silence came again as Matthew was apparently thinking.

Matthew Shepard made a thoughtful noise but eventually decided that there would be no harm. "Alright then, September... Aren't I good to you, dear?" There was a sound of the phone being put down followed by a dragging sound and a thud, finally Matthew's voice would be heard faintly. "Stupid... Talk to him... Nothing bad... Fire..." The phone was then picked up and fumbling would be heard before Kei's voice was heard, it being faint and clearly not at all healthy.

"H, hello...? Iante...?"

Matthew Shepard Kei coughed quietly and managed to wheeze out a response down the phone. "Y, yes... I'm... I'm alright... You don't need to worry..."

Matthew Shepard Kei bit his lip, the motion not going unnoticed by Matthew who was, unknown to Iante, watching the mage closely. "I... I think so... But... I don't know... It's hard to-" The phone would then be snatched away, Matthew's irritated tone over-shadowing Kei's quet one.

"That's enough. You have poisoned my September against me quite enough." His voice then became clearer, evidently the phone had been placed beside his lips. "Was that alright, dear? You got to talk briefly... What did you say to him?"

Matthew Shepard thought for several long moments, eventually shrugging his shoulders and speaking. "Fine, fine... And good. You're a good boy, September... Very good. I am very much looking forward to our meeting again, it will be simply wonderful." A chuckle, followed by a sigh and a loud bang, then a surprised gasp from Matthew. "Oh dear..." He said quietly.

Matthew Shepard A click of the phone being put down was the only thing heard, footsteps and then a loud slapping sound. After that an eerie silence stretched out, probably feeling like a mini eternity to the anxious Irishman before suddenly it was broken by another bang, this one louder than the others before and a crackling noise, Matthew's surprised cursing voice being heard over the din. "Fucking!... Kill... Still!" Were several of the words heard, then the crackling noise grew louder, the phone eventually cutting out into silence.

Matthew Shepard approached the bar slowly, hands buried deep in the pockets of his dark brown hoodie, it being large and baggy on his thin form, slightloy ragged jeans trailing along the floor with each step. As he reached the door he pushed it open with a foot and ,oved inside the bar, sitting down heavily at a table in the corner.

"Now then..." He mumbled quietly as he pulled out a mobile from his pocket, flipping it open and dialling a clearly memorized number, pressing it to his ear. "Come along, September... Pick up your phone now..." He added to himself.

Matthew Shepard smiled to himself and shifted in his chair, leaning forward as if to make his conversation more private. "Hi there September, its me - Matthew." He paused for a moment before adding, "How are you? Headed to Gambit's by any chance?"

Matthew Shepard chuckled quietly and nodded, forgetting that the motion couldn't be seen. "Yeah he did. I'm afraid it's going to stick forever now, Setpember." He laughed once again before adding. "But yeah, I'm there. If you're en route shall I grab you a drink? What do you like?" Matthew relaxed somewhat, crossing his legs lazily and letting out a small sigh.

Matthew Shepard clicked his tongue as he stood and made his way over to the counter. "Sure thing, and no its fine, been called worse." He joked with a small chuckle. "Right, well I'll grab drinks... I'll give you a wave when you come in. See you in a few." With that he flipped his phone off and slid it into his pocket.

"Hey, tender-" He waved him over. "- A coffee, with little packs of sugar and cream and stuff, I dunno what he likes in it, and... A... Tch, make it two coffees." He nodded and waited for the drinks which soon came, taking them back to the table and idly stirring his own, eyes fixed on the door.

Matthew Shepard tapped his fingertips against the wooden surface of the table as he waited, eyes narrowing slightly as time slowly ticked on. As Iante moved tyhrough the door however, a wide smile came upon his features and he lifted a hand, waving the Irishman over. "Hey, September!" He called, gesturing at the coffee across from him as he sipped his own.

Matthew Shepard shrugged his shoulders and shook his head, waving a dismissive hand. "Nah, its fine. Walking is always good... Just glad that you're here now." He took a sip of coffee. "So... How's your drink? I didn't know how you like it so I just got you everything..." He nodded at the masses of sugar and cream. "You'll have to tell me for next time." He winked, a small smile on his face.

Matthew Shepard nodded slowly, making a mental note to remember for later dates, and he laughed quietly at Iante's joke. "Hmm, yeah, you're right there." He shifted forward to lightly ruffle the Irishman's blonde hair, lingering a moment before moving back.

"If you wanted tea you should have said, would have got you some... Me, I love the coffee." He took a rather large gulp.

Matthew Shepard made a small sound of agreement, nodding slowly as he replied. "Yep, that's true... So how is the company?" he arched an eyebrow, grinning slightly. For me, it's pretty good. Great, even.... Best company I've had in awhile." He then cleared his throat and shook his head, as if he were embarrassed at saying such a thing. "Erm, well, yeah... So..." He hurridly busied himself with drinking his coffee again.

Matthew Shepard let out a small sigh to relief and placed his now empty cup onto the table with a small clatter. "Well, great then. I'll have to call Tommy and tell him that he did something good for once; Introducing us I mean... But then his ego is big enough as it is so... Maybe not. Our secret, eh?" He offered a playful wink in Iante's direction, chuckling quietly.

Matthew Shepard nodded firmly. "Yeah, no way. far as he's concerned we're getting along like a... Like..." he trailed off, frowning. "Well... Like two things that don't get on well." He coughed loudly before groaning and holding his head in his hands, mumbling to himself. "Smooth, Matthew... Very smooth..."
