It wasn't long before another trainer made his way towards the town, his black dreadlocks bouncing on his head as he shimmered his way though the snow and wild grass. A Kadabra followed in tow, a pair of black shades adorning her yellow face and accenting her short, almost sharp whiskers.

The afternoon was definitely getting dark, wasn't any excuse to take off the badass dark shades as the two continued though the wild grass, there was a certain swagger to the Kadabra, the way it dragged itself though the grass with her dangled arms and dragging a silver spoon across the snow, leaving trails. That certain swagger was the mark of an experienced fighter.

Max froze in his tracks when a small yellow hand tugged at the hem of his blue coat, turning around with his arm raised to look behind at his pokemon. "Yea'?" Max asked the pokemon, eyebrow raised after his cockney slur. The Kadabra only replied with a silent stare and jerked her head towards the two other pokemon in the area, well the most interesting ones anyway; Tungsten & Myra.

"You detect somethin' with that noggin'?" The Kadabra noticed the inflections in his voice and nodded, they'd done this back and forth for a long time now. It'd been like that when Max Junior had met the pokemon in his backyard and rushed inside his house to fetch a silver spoon...

Max nodded back and ruffled the top of the Kadabra's head, turned in the direction in the way she pointed and waltzed his lazy way towards the two, shifting the snow and grass out of his way to stick his ugly human mug into view of the two.

"YO!" The cockney shouted.

Max had decidedly and luckily backed up against a wall in the earlier scuffle, eating from a bowl hastily and exchanging confused looks between the patrons and his Kadabra. This fancy joint hadn't mentioned anything about dinner and a show on the various pamphlets scattered around the city, if he'd known, he would have come earlier.

The trainer continued to shovel food in his mouth, pondering the option of doubling up on the thief. A decision best made on a full stomach, and turned to his pokemon to confer with the Kadabra. "Yeah, I thought so." "Kadabra."

Max leaned to one of the panicked waiters and whispered in his ear. "Ten bucks on the fancy one."

That single blow sent Weavile tumbling across the ground, right past Alexander who stood impassively with a smirk on his face. It mattered not to him. "Come on, get back up," he said dispassionately. He cast his callous glance over his shoulder. "You can't honestly be giving up just after that. At least make yourself useful one last time." The Weavile looked up at Alexander weakly, but with hate in its eyes, one claw jammed onto the ground so it could prop its head up and unleash a screech at the Gengar.

But at the same time Alexander made a tossing gesture, casting a Fast Ball past Gengar and Arty as if trying to take the opportunity of the two being distracted by the Weavile. It wasn't likely to go unnoticed, but any little trick he could pull to get the upper hand was what he was after."

Alexander's disregard for the wellbeing of his companion brought a scowl to Arty's face, "Duck down behind a sub, Casper. Finish it off with another focus blast if it comes at you again, otherwise let it be." he instructed calmly as the man spoke to the Weavile. By the time the screech came, although appearances suggested that it had worked, in actuality Casper had retreated down into the shadows, leaving behind a substitute in his stead.

The other ball being tossed past him prompted a raised eyebrow from the champion, but he supposed he shouldn't have expected the criminal to play altogether fairly. He rotated himself around to keep an eye on the thrown ball in readiness for what was to emerge, hand hovering near his pokeballs.

Upon his shoulder Ru too followed the ball with its eyes, far from trusting the opponent not to instruct his pokemon to strike at Arty himself.

The first Fast Ball was casually tossed to the side, landing on top of the Weavile and recalling it, then bouncing back to Alexander's hand. "You'd throw a focus blast at a weakened pokemon?" he asked with a quirked eyebrow and his smile falling flat once more. "But it doesn't matter," he said with a gesture of his open palm into the air as his Ninjask slowly rose from its own Fast Ball, wings buzzing loudly. "Agility," he uttered, the beat of the wings growing more and more rapid by the moment until the noise was down right distracting.

"After all, this is only half the battle."

The cruel treatment hadn't gone unseen, that was atrocious behavior and Max wouldn't go for it. The trainer would usually let this thing drift by, but this really ruffled his sports jacket. Max pulled a ball from his belt and got up off the floor, finishing his bowl of noodles and casting his support to Jackson.

"If we double up on this mutt, the faster he goes down." Max said, offering a shrug as he dropped the pokeball in his hands. The pokeball clinked on the floor and in a shine of bright light, released a Hitmonlee.

The Hitmonlee released a series of flashy snapkicks, nearly splintering a table in it's display. "Come on, let's go. I know you got a pokemon behind us, let's get this show rollin'."

Arty cast a sidelong glance across at Max, raising his eyebrow. "If the man agrees to a double battle," he remarked, "It would be far from fair to have a straight-up two versus one. As much as he doesn't deserve it, I'll beat him fair and square whatever underhanded methods he may or may not use."

Turning his attention back to the battle, Arty nodded his head towards the Ninjask. "Casper, thunderbolt." he instructed. The Gengar rose from the shadows to merge with its hovering substitute, swooping through the air to position itself where it could launch a dazzling burst of forked lightning towards the Ninjask. In the aftermath of the attack it once again slunk away to leave its substitute to take any damage in return.

Lightning rocked the Ninjask' body, sending it fluttering about crazy for a moment while it tried to recover while Alexander rolled his eyes. "Not fast enough, apparently," he said in a disapproving tone, "At least make yourself useful!" He brushed his coat aside in a calm, collected manner. "But its finished. Baton pass!" he called out, as the Ninjask swooped over to follow an arcing gesture of the speed masters hands back towards the one he started with.

Boomer.

"Electro Ball," he said callously as he slipped another ball between his fingers from his sleeve, letting it roll up to his fingertips then back to his palm. "Oh and don't worry about me, I'm willing to go two against two." With the agility from Ninjask handed over, Boomer was already prepared to deliver a deadly blow of electric.

The electro ball burst through Casper's substitute, drawing the ghost pokemon out from the shadows once more, this time more permanently. "That's enough," Arty stated, "Good job, Casper, but it's time you took a rest."

He extended his hand, recalling the Gengar into its pokeball before reaching for a second one. "Your turn, Lancelot." he said, tossing the ball out. In a flash of light, a grey bat-scorpion pokemon emerged. The Gliscor circled in the air with a cry of challenge towards Boomer.

"Now watch the greatest magic show of all times as I make my pokemon float with no strings at all!" Alexander announced, raising his hand dramatically into the air, "Magnetic Riiiiise!" he enunciated, as the Electrode indeed rose up off of the ground. However his other hand gestured subtly behind him, letting the ball roll from its fingertips behind his feet. A sleight of hand, one might assume. And they would be right.

"You're quite adept," Alexander complemented, "Are you a well-known trainer? I have such trouble keeping up with the competitive scene these days, what with my life of crime." He spoke with a charismatic voice, wavering and fluctuating, like that of a performer, highlighting words meant to entice and letting it die down on unimportant details.

"You could say that," Arty replied with a small smirk, "But for now, I'm just a trainer who feels compelled to interfere with villainy. Who I am isn't important."

The magnet rise meant that Lancelot's earthquake wouldn't be able to strike the electrode, but Alexander had yet to demonstrate Boomer's offensive capabilities. Arty was confident that the Gliscor would be able to take anything that its opponent could throw at it, and so was content to bide his time for the moment.

"Swords dance, Lancelot. Let's get this rolling." He gave a sidelong glance to the spherical electric pokemon before adding, "No pun intended."

With a flourish and a glimmer of its claws, the Gliscor circled upwards into the air, readying itself for its next move.

Max was pushed into a corner, two trainers had gotten the drop on his him and had counted on their doubling-up tactic to take him and his pokemon down, he was up to his two last pokemon. Hitmonlee and Ursaring. The latter let out an explosive roar, drawing out it's claws and swatting one of the rival trainer's pokemon(A poor Slugma.).

The other trainer's Starmie unleashed a hyperbeam that knocked the bear pokemon out cold, the beam shooting past it's face and sending it crashing into the forest with a loud crack. Max called out in surprise, gritting his teeth while the other trainer wooped in triumph.

The Hitmonlee stared the Starmie down, keeping a leg raised high in the knee and dashed forward though the dewy grass and jumped into the air. "Lee, bring him down with Revenge." The other trainer laughed, unwilling to show weakness with doubt. "Hit..." The pokemon cried, closing the distance in the jump. "Hyperbeam!"

The attacks met at exactly the same time, one collided with with the other in a single flash of bright light. The light faded quickly, the Starmie was still floating in the air with a triumphant aura about it and Max's Hitmonlee was hunched over, holding it's stomach with a free hand.

"Hitmonlee." The creature crooned before sliding to it's knees and dissipating.

"That's gonna be 1G, Max." The rival trainer shouted. "Like I have that money on me, mate!" Max shouted back.

They would've been making enough noise to raise the dead.

Grace had heard the trouble and noise from nearby battle and her natural instinct as a trainer brought her drifting towards it. Her hand instinctively reached for a pokeball, clutching it not for want of battle, but out of comfort that she might be able to protect herself. She could see people, three of them at least, engaged in battle and one of them wasn't fairing too well. Were they picking on him? That was hardly fair... It upset her, but a mental reminder of poor self esteem told her she couldn't help.

Well she had to do something. "H-hey," she called, voice failing to be anywhere near as strong or loud as she would have liked, moving into view with a pokeball still clutched between her fingertips. She was quick to realize how much it looked like she wanted a fight, so she quickly tucked it back into her belt. "W-what's going on here?" she added, trying to put some toughness into her voice and still failing, "Are you two ganging up on him?"

Myra would return to standing tall the moment she was released, declining to so much as comment. She didn't much want to get into a fight with a zoroark. To what did he owe these emotions of his, and why? She immediately dismissed all notions of a kind heart and began to scan him as if quietly searching for the darkness she was convinced he must harbour. It was perhaps subtle, the only indication being her rather intense stare.

...Regardless of what she found she remained unfazed, taking in his warning and what she perceived to be an offer of some sort.

"As the sun turns it's back on me, I walk in the light of the moon." she replied in a subtly dismissive manner regarding the danger of the night. She had already become aware of a human presence, distinct in it's feeling from the pokemon around it. For a moment, she frowned at the notion of 'enjoying' time around humans. She declined to so much as humour that idea, instead relenting a bit on something far more ...interesting.

"But as for your wish, I will grant you that." she replied softly, her curiosity mildly evident in her tone. All of a sudden Myra's body began to shift and warp before the eyes with a dark power that should've been entirely familiar to Tungsten. It was an illusion and soon enough before him soon stood a froslass. "Tell me where she is, and we will go." she added perceptively. Myra hesitated a brief moment before turning her head in the general direction of a wandering human.

"But first... it seems you've a guest." she remarks with subtle distaste. She couldn't help but wonder, why would a human be out in this deadly cold in the middle of the night. Had she been the real deal, a maiden of ice and death, he might have been in trouble.

Was she really much better, though?

Seamus ran full speed towards the docks and dove in face first, the ice and the cold acting as a sufficient cover for anyone that wanted to pursue him further. Maybe he could try being an explorer again some other day. Right now, all he wanted to do was pretend today never happened and rest after getting thrown around by that ungodly strong Abomasnow.
