a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by VonMitternacht

Description

Maximillion is typically covered in a black cloak that obscures all of his features, as well as hiding his ancient armour from view, as well as the swords he has at his hip. The only feature visible of his face is the lower half of his ebony complexion, a well-trimmed beard and glowing yellow-gold eyes.

Personality

Wary, Enigmatic, Mostly Friendly

Equipment

:Attire: Black Nobleman clothes (laced tunic, gilded silk pants, all black), Black Gauntlets, small "utility belt" of assorted potions and powders, twin swords at hip, long black cloak.

:Weaponry: Soul Blade of Fire ("Gheos"); Runed Katana of Indestructibility; Soul Blade of Vampirism ("Vemir"). All Soulbound (cannot be wielded by anyone else).

:Magical Items (optional): Magic Seals (x6) Maximillion, due to his alarming level of power attained throughout the centuries, has created a method of supressing this power when it is not needed. In the form of four rings (worn on the ring and little fingers of both hands), as well as an earring on each ear, six Seals are placed on his body that repress his power and contain it. With the seals attached, his power is still quite remarkable, but it prevents catastrophic results from an excessive power output when fighting, or even when performing simple spells.

History

The Gods War had lasted for centuries, many who fought it long dead and gone. If not by the might of the Gods and their followers who thrashed all opposition, than by natural age. It was a fact of nature that humans could spend their entire lifespans fighting and waging war, and would not be able to continue it beyond maybe, if they were lucky, the better half of a century.

Two of the fiercest fighters in the war against the tyrannical gods were Lord Death and Maximillion VonMitternacht. Both fierce warriors with an immeasurably powerful arsenal of spells and attacks at their disposal, both knowing the secret of what it took to kill the god, and both leading their strongest forces to destroy the monsterous gods before their power became too great.

Despite the limited power each "God" had, each had originally just been a mere Demon, Mutant, and one was merely an extraordinarily powerful android. By gathering power and posing gods, others would unwittingly channel their own power straight into the respective 'god'. After a period of time, and with enough people following the gods out of fear, and the deluded few out of actual love, the 'Gods' became the gods they are today. Mighty, and haughty.

But not all would bow before them. The Shadow Knights clan, Evil Uprising Organization and even the Ashe Vampires (a Pro-Mutant Cult) stood against the menacing Gods who ruled over their rapidly-spreading lands, which they ironically named after their own tyrannical natures. However, strong as the opposing forces were, people failed to realize their own power, and only continued to let these new false 'gods' rule over their lives, micromanage them, and pit them against one another, just so the 'gods' would never go without amusement.

It is what many historians would've considered a Dark Age, with the exception that the "War of the Gods" still continues to this day. Their reach and power has been restricted to their own, sprawling Kingdom, but they are far from defeated, and they still remember the two names that fought so hard to liberate the people and offer them the freedom they so desperately cried out for.

Politics are in effect, too. Neighboring kingdoms denying both Lord Death and Maximillion VonMitternacht admittance, because some 'grand vizier' (a "god" in disguise) warned them that they were some kind of menacing devil who meant them only ill will, and the leaders of those respective kingdoms followed the rumours gullibly, and wholeheartedly.

But the resistance lived on!

Lord Death took to doing his research and studies more privately, and making a name for himself as a civilian, posing as a Supporter for a period of time until his cause was caught onto, then fading into the background amongst the other commoners in the neighboring kingdoms.

Maximillion VonMitternacht, on the other hand, continues the fight everlasting, with his never-ending strength, might and charisma. His power not being marked by brute force, but by the tenacity to keep up the good fight, even when others have turned tail and run, he has inspired many, even the frightened few who still cannot muster up the courage or backbone to fight against the Gods themselves.

What will happen because of this? How will the neighboring kingdoms survive? How will Maximillion and Death succeed in thwarting the evil grip of these would-be "Gods" over the common populace?

No one knows...

So begins...
