Medya

There's a fifty percent chance I kill you, fifty percent I help you, and fifty percent I just don't care.

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by HitoriRaven

Description

Image

Medya is a 17 year old girl, about 5'3. She looks a bit younger than she actually is. She has white hair that doesn't quite go past her shoulders, and she normally has heterochromatic eyes. One is red, and one is blue. However, when she is more one spirit, both eyes become red or blue. Her natural eye colour is brown, however, it almost never shows up. She usually wears a black long-sleeved shirt and black jeans. The only other noticeable thing is that she wears a pair of black gloves to cover the charge-circles on her wrists.

Personality

Medya has three personalities. However, the easiest indicator of which is which, is the eye colour, and how she acts. Dark Medya is the nicest, and tends to be more kind-hearted. D-Medya is more cheerful, social and enjoys the company of other people. However, normal Medya is impassive. She shares traits with L-Medya and D-Medya. She tries to avoid trouble and too much conversation. This is because the conflicting D-Med and L-Med personalities cause her to be bi-polar. She can go from snappish to apologizing immediately. Finally, L-Medya is the darker side. She's also the more adult of the three personalities. Tends to be a flirt, however, angers easily and enjoys fight. All in all, this would be Medya's sadistic part.

D-Med = red eyes. L-Med = blue eyes. Normal Med = one of each.

Equipment

Medya carries a small-ish backpack with all her things in it.

Skills: Medya's special battle abilities are confined to her arms. Both spirits are manifested, however, each arm has 8 charges, represented by a small circle embedded around her wrists with 8 sections. When lit, there is a charge. In essence, this is the amount of times she can use a skill. They regain a charge in about 5 minutes, however as Medya gets tired, the time is increased. The dark energy is in the right arm, and the light is the in the left.

Devil's Right: A punch filled with darkness energy. Explodes on contact with an enemy, the immediate area is filled with a smoke-like effect, blinding the opponent and and others nearby. The smoke lasts for a few seconds before dissipating.

Angel's Left: A punch filled with light. On contact, releases light, similar to the Devil's right, it blinds. However, the Angel's Left is more offensive. The flash lasts for only a second, its main effect is to cause a small energy explosion.

Devil's Shield: Medya creates a shield made of dark energy, canceling out any magic that it comes in contact with. Deflects ranged projectiles, and gives a few seconds of paralysis for physically contacting the shield.

Angelic Scythe: Medya sweeps her arm, creating a blade-like energy that speeds towards the opponent. Three scythes per charge.

Devil's Blessing: Medya releases a flow of dark energy, supporting the target's life in some fashion. It is conformable enough to be useful in most situations.

Flight: Wings sprout from near the base of the arms, one is a white-bat type, while the other is a black-crow like one. As long as each arm has at least one charge, this costs none to keep in effect.

Rarely seen, Medya can occasionally synchronize both arms, and go into a more powerful state. In this mode, she gains increased speed and power, and all of her moves are buffed. However, it only lasts for about 3 minutes before she returns to normal, in an exhausted state.

Medya has strong mental powers, however, most of the time they are suppressing the two spirits inside of her. Thus, her powers are restricted to basic telekinesis and telepathy. She can lift small objects with a bit of concentration. She can also establish a mental link with a nearby person, allowing communication. She almost always asks for permission first before doing so, though.

History

Medya was orphaned at a young age. She doesn't remember her parents, and was taken into a religious household. Since she was little, she has had strong mental powers. This power was noticed by an angel. However, this was an angel who was not content with its current position. It flew to Medya and possessed her, putting her into a coma-like state. Her household noticed this, and assuming she had been taken over by devils, tried to call upon divine power to save her. Ironically, and amazingly, something did come. However, it was actually a renegade death god, a pacifist. The death god also merged into Medya's body, however, it did so with the intent to save her. These two now-spirits are still fighting inside of the girl, Medya. When Medya woke up from her coma, her foster family was relieved, believing it to be divine intervention. However, to be sure, they sent her to a famous priest. This priest figured out what was happening inside of her, and with her agreement, embedded the power collecting charge-circles in her arms. These circles were supposed to keep the spirits under control, however, they have had the added effect of storing energy, which Medya has learned to use. Since then, she has also learned to suppress their personalities with her powers - with the help of the priest, however three minds inside of her has made her slightly mentally unstable.

So begins...

As Fae popped out in front of her, Medya jumped nearly a foot in the air, snapping out of whatever reverie she was in. "Erm...Hello...there?" she replied hesitantly, palming her face. Sorry you couldn't have a bit more time alone, Med.

"Whatever. It's not like these moments are meant to last. Either of you want to handle this?"

"We'll see, Med. It's not a cute guy...but..meh."

"Well, you weren't. And what might you be?" Medya asked, raising an eyebrow. Her arms and legs were loose, and ready for action in case the gargoyle-girl was hostile. Under her long sleeves, there was dark and light energy accumulating in her hands. "Isn't exactly a place for meeting other people, where we are." she noted dryly.

She seems like an okay person. "You've known her for all of ten seconds, Dee..."

"Why are we here? You guys don't eat. Remind me again why I agreed to this." Aw, c'mon, Med. It's a nice night, and the diner's crowded! MAybe you'll meet a cute guy or something! And at least you'll get something to eat. "It is good to go outside sometimes, Med. Even if you don't meet anyone interesting. And it's healthy to treat yourself once in a while!

The barely-of-age girl entered the diner, seemingly talking to herself. Though common was uncommon, she had uncommonly white hair in a bob. Her wear, however, was quite casual, a simple black long-sleeved shirt and matching black jeans. As suspected, her, "Table for one, please..." was met with a "Sorry ma'am, full night. You're going to have to share."

"And this is why I don't listen to you two. Socializing sucks. Next time, we do what I want. Go for a nice walk, or something. Hell, why am I listening to you in the first place? I control my body," she whined, letting out a small sigh.

Finally, they arrived at the booth, where there was already a woman in place. Medya (and her onboard passengers) sat down across from the woman. She didn't say anything yet, since the woman was obviously on the phone, and it would've been rude to interrupt. Instead, she simply twiddled her fingers.

Damn, wasn't a hottie. Well, whatever, I guess.

The girl observed the woman with 'uncommonly' heterochromatic eyes - one red, one blue. She pondered for a second about the woman's more business oriented clothes, before shaking her head sharply to snap herself out of the reverie.

She returned a small smile, which looked slightly more natural than Mae's, but not by much. "Not at all. First time here, though I hear the food isn't too bad." Medya stared awkwardly forward, then allowed her eyes to wander around the diner. "I fucking hate trying to communicate. Tell me when the food's here."

The girl blinked, and when her eyes were shown again, they were both red. Her tone was much more cheerful, and the smile that spread across her face was genuine. "Sooooo, miss. What do you do?"

In one of the back booths, which seemed almost comfortably made for sleeping, a white-haired girl woke up. She walked over to the counter while rubbing sleep from her eyes. It wasn't very crowded just then, something which she was thankful for. Easily, she ordered a glass of orange juice from the menu.

The girl stared at the man for a few seconds before bringing her hand up in greeting. She zoned out in front of her glass for a while, before a voice rang out from her mouth.

Wake up, Med. It's morning! Also, I just thought I'd let you know there's someone kinda like us over there.

"You're too cheerful this early, but I guess angels don't sleep. What?"

Medya turned around to skim her eyes over Lesina. She stood and approached the other girl, almost shyly. "I...erm...I like your wings..."

"Erm..? Oh, sorry, I wasn't talking to you. That was just my onboard passenger. Angel living in my head, so I kind of get what you feel. There's another, too, but..." she explained, trailing off. She faced Sin again, and smirked slightly. "Nah."

"I'm okay with this," she said, before directing her attention back to Lesina. "Well, it's hard to explain. I bet you can see it." She pointed at her eyes, which both turned blue.

"Hi there. I don't really have a name, but Med just calls me El. Nice to meet you. I'm a angel who just happens to be lodging her for the time being. Pay my rent and all.

"You don't pay me."

"I don't? Heh."

"Well, you should see the other guy. No, literally. You should see the other guy. Nicest death god you'll ever meet, which makes him..her.. really annoying."

"So in conclusion, yes. We do," Medya said, grinning.

Medya smiled as her eyes reverted back to their red and blue. "I can see that. Sounds like you have a hard time of it too, only you don't have voices in your head, I would guess."

"I'm not crazy," she reiterated.

"You wish you had voices in your head? Tell you what, I'll trade you. This guys are always so annoying, trying to get me to chat up guys or do nice things and be social..." she shuddered.

"Speaking of which, that guy over there...."

"No."

"I'm sure there's plenty of people who would like someone with those. I guess we both have our problems, since I can hide my wings." At this point, a pair of wings also appeared at her back, near where the arm met the back. One was a like a bat-wing, only white, and the other was similar to a crow's, black and bird-like.

"I think your look better."

"Well, they're big enough...so yeah. Well, as long as I have charges. That's what I call them, at least." She raised her hands, where there the long black sleeves fell back to reveal metal bracelets, divided into sections. "I borrow some energy from my friends and store it here. As long as there's at least one charge, I can keep them out."

"Can you do anything special? I know angel-demon hybrids usually have some kind of power," she mentioned curiously.

"Haha, lucky. If I had swords...well, I guess it'd be a lot easier. As it is, I'm about the same as you, only I have to punch people....and I'm still limited by how much I can store up." She gave a regretful smile. "In other words, if I don't finish a fight in 16 shots or less, I'm pretty screwed."

"But enough of that. Care for a drink while we keep talking?"

"Well, I'd like it. You don't hear a lot of people using their powers for fun once in a while. I mean, everyone here pretty much just tries to blow shit up." Medya scratched her face sheepishly. "Even I'm only capable of wrecking things..."

"So it'd be nice to see something fun for once! God, I sound like El."

"Aw, c'mon. It'll be interesting. At the very least, you can use it to chat up guys!" El smirked cheerfully at Lesina, then winked.

"I didn't say that. But...yeah, it'd be kinda cool. Besides, if we're not pestering you to do it, I don't think you'll ever try."
