Name: Meeko Maow
Age: 12
Race: Felinoid Aonian
Basics: Grey Hair/Fur, 5'1", 120 lbs, Green right eye, Purple left eye, usually dresses in grey and neutral colors, prehensile tail, night vision, both cat ears and humanoid ears.

Powers:
Selective intangibility field. Can generate a field like an aura around any part or all of his body able to pass through solid objects. Clothing and anything he's wearing become intangible as well.

Vaporization:dematerializes himself and all his clothing or anything he's wearing into a living cloud of smoke-like vapor

Poison generation and immunity. Meeko's eyeteeth (fangs) and claws are connected to glands that produce a mild neural toxin and can inject it like a hypodermic needle. It isn't lethal, but it's enough to cause excruciating pain long enough to escape if needed. Is also immune to nearly all poisons.

A basic understanding of magic. He can use any number of basic level spells such as healing, invisibility and other tactical magics. However, using these magics conflicts with his genetic powers listed above and he is unable to use magic and his genetic powers at the same time.

Beastform. Upon reaching puberty, Meeko's race has the ability to take on the form of a large creature similar to Earth's saber toothed cats. It is often triggered by life or death situations, or times when incredibly angry. His people often have to use meditation techniques to keep the beast under control.

Background: Meeko was born into captivity on a planet deeply immersed in the intergalactic black market. On this planet, felinoid beings were often sold as both pets and test subjects for those conducting illegal experiments. Meeko was sold to one such scientist. He was working for the Eurythmian Empire to create a new form of super-soldier. The scientist believed that felinoid beings were better as they possessed agility, night vision and other features were of great benefit to his plans. He created a serum that reacted differently to individuals based on their DNA and gave them unique abilities.

Meeko was tested on with the serum. He didn't show signs of powers right away, but when he finally did show his abilities, it was not good for the scientist. Meeko doesn't like to talk about how he escaped, but it was at the cost of taking the scientist's life and to a four year old it was traumatic. He also used his powers to free a number of other felinoid test subjects who all went their separate ways.

He has spent the last eight years going from one planet to the next, hopping rides on ships and trying to find his place in the universe. He has studied magic and is surprisingly adept at it

So begins...

Meeko took a page from Atrix's book. He figure that Atrix would like to be alone so as to focus better and just to get some time to himself. Meeko, not really knowing many of the other students that well, decided to try and focus on his own abilities as well.

Meeko was away from the camp entirely, though it was still in view, as he felt he needed some alone time. He had come to this school to make friends, yet he only seemed to be comfortable when isolated or when he was with Atrix. He figured one of the best things he could do now, as far as working on survival skills, would be to hunt down some dinner. That was what people did on camping trips right? And it was definitely a survival skill.

Meeko climbed a tree and took a big whiff of the air trying to catch the scent of a forest creature. He caught the scent of something that had a gamey smell, very musky almost like leather and mildew. He jumped from the tree and took off in the direction of the creature.

Meeko followed the scent until it was nearly overpowering for his feline nose. He stopped just short of a clearing by the edge of a lake. It was there that he saw the huge creature, it looked like a moose from Earth, but with six legs and two sets of antlers. Meeko turned into a cloud of vapor and drifted toward the creature slowly while it was drinking from the lake. There was no way the thing would have seen him with nothing but the light of the moon as he was little more than a cloud of smoke or fog. When he was right at the creatures side, he suddenly re-materialized and sank his claws into the beast's spine, paralyzing it so it couldn't thrash about to hurt him. The creature let out a loud moan of pain that echoed through the woods and Meeko was sure they heard it back at camp. He made his claws intangible to reach into the creature and crush it's heart quickly and put it out of it's misery. He then went about cleaning and bleeding the beast out before bringing it back to camp.

As he brought the beast back, not an easy task as the creature was so huge, he received cheers from many of the hunters in the group as well as a good portion of combat focused groups. He cut the thing up and skinned it using only his claws, careful not to use any of his venom, and put the meat onto steaks next to the fire so it could smoke as it cooked.

"Dinner's on me." He said before taking a large chunk of the meat, putting it on a stick and holding it in the fire just long enough to barely brown the edges. He preferred his meat rare. He then went to the edge of the camp to eat alone.

As the energies swirled around him, and he began to manifest effects into the area around him, he found himself learning more and more about this ability. For one thing, its danger. It seemed like this shadow he could control had many different effects, it could heal and restore and protect. But it could also degenerate and dissolve and destroy. And destruction was a lot easier then protected. It was a power that ate away at everything, and Atrix could not help but wonder what it was eating from him.

But as he learned more about it, he in a way "discovered" a new power.

"Sorsceliion!"

Suddenly, dozens of electoral swords appeared around him. They were alighned as if they were on rings and would rotate around him. Atrix did not know where that word came from or what language it derived from, but the power it created was one of both defense and offense. A spell to both protect and destroy. However...

"Ahh!"

Getting entranced by it, because this spell was of a higher level then any he had used in the past, the spectral swords "shattered" and one of the fragments cut Atrix's skin releasing blood. It dripped a little on the ground, but Atrix could not help but notice he could "feel" the blood still.

"Wait...does this also include powers over my blood? Just...what awakened inside me exactly?"

Taken aback by the surprise, Atrix found himself realizing just how late it had been. He ended up working the entire time and had forgotten to even take a break.

"Uh oh, better get back before I get yelled at".

Wrapping his hand in a bandage, Atrix immedated started to run back to camp....as his Blood "disconnected" from him and soaked into the ground...

As the power within began to have consequences on the natural area, slowly but surely, something would occur.

And meanwhile, for perhaps the first time in both their lives, there were students looking to ask Atrix and Meeko about things. If one would have to ask why they don't normally do this, that would be simple.

There were less people who bullied Atrix here then when they were at the academy. They didn't want to get caught up in it themselves, and to be honest, Atrix didn't blame them too much. But the people of the academy were not so cold as to be uncaring towards the situation, they just did not want to suffer themselves.

Meeko sat at the edge of camp. He was trying to eat his meat in piece when another one of the students came over.

"Hey, thanks for the... whatever that thing was, don't think I've seen one of those before. So, you're new here, huh?"

"Yeah, just started." Meeko replied. He looked over at the kid with blue hair, he looked taller and older than him. But his eyes looked friendlier than most of the other students. "My name's Meeko."

"My name's Hayden." He introduced himself with a chuckle. "So for someone who just did something cool for everyone on the field trip, you're sure going out of your way to try and be a loner. So what's your story?"

Meeko looked at Hayden and for some reason he felt like he could trust him. "Well the point of this trip is improving survival skills and finding food is a big part of that. It didn't look like anyone was bothering to do any hunting, or they brought their own food, so I figured I'd do something to help out. The hunters and fighters seemed to like it."

"I meant why are you at school? What are you studying? You know, your history."

"Oh, well I was born into slavery, then sold to a science lab where I was genetically altered."

"Oh so you got powers and stuff? Wait, aren't you that kid who was chased down by cyber dragons?" Hayden asked excited.

"Yeah, that was me and yeah I got some interesting powers." He sighed. "I can generate an intangibility field, turn into vapor, and I generate a toxic venom in my teeth and claws."

"That's so cool." Hayden smiled at him wide-eyed. It was clear he was genuinely interested and not just patronizing him. "I'm just a technomancer myself. Don't get me wrong I can do some cool stuff, but you got some awesome powers too."

"Thanks I guess."

"Well I'll let you eat in peace, see ya around." Hayden went back to the other techies he came with.

"Oh crap, I wonder if Atrix remembered to eat. " Meeko worried. "I better go check on him." He said as he ran off to find Atrix after getting him a piece of the meat from by the fire.

The camp set up by the students of Astrius Academy was one that was well developed. Actually, some of it looked strange for those unfamiliar with Astrius Academy and its students. There were some who seemed to have normal tents, sure. But there were buildings, modern buildings, which had not been there this morning. Other tents were bigger on the inside, and boasted things from dining rooms, to fully functioning kitchens, to master bedrooms and even bathrooms.

As for Atrix, he had come with a new, personal tent he invented. It had three bedrooms, two guest rooms, an armory, various storage areas, a kitchen, a dining room, a mobile laboratory, heavy duty security enchantments, and a number of other things. Of course, tents like this took mana to maintain. They could not be used indefinently, and took weeks to charge up with magic for just a few days use unless one used money to buy extra magical charge pre-made by others. But in return, it was great for extended field trips like this.

Of course, there were still campfires and what not outside. This sort of event was meant to help bolster relations between students, as well as train up their skills, learn about their envirornment. But in the end, most of the time students would interact and play with each other.

But it also provided other opportunities. Although Atrix was not really hated by everyone, people tended to keep away so they did not get involved. But obviously the entire academy could not come at once, only groups of students would take the trip at a time.

However, it did not mean there were none at all either. And that was why Atrix was sure to be careful and took a roundabout route back to camp. However....there was just one issue...

"It seems...I may have gotten lost again..."

And that was that Atrix had absolutely no sense of direction.

"Craw! That way!"

As it was just him and the birds, for a moment he thought he heard one of them speak out as it pointed its beak in a direction...

"Did you...just speak?"

"Craw craw!"

"Nah...it was probably my imagination...well, it wouldn't hurt to try this way either..."

Atrix had no clue that bird was actually a familiar sent by Demon King Millen to watch over him, nor did he consider the possibility it was a familiar at all as he walked in exactly the direction he needed to.

Meeko was about to got searching for Atrix, but remembered the kid's appetite. He turned back to the fire and grabbed one of the six legs that was roasting next to it and took that as well as the initial piece he had grabbed.

He went off in the direction he saw Atrix leave last then searched the area only to see him returning to the camp a few yards away from where he was at. Meeko noticed how dark it was getting and figured he'd gotten lost or turned around while he wasn't paying attention.

"Hey, Atrix!" Meeko called and waved the leg of meat to get his attention. "Hey, I went hunting while you were gone. I saved you a leg and I think this is some rib meat." Meeko smiled as he ran up to him. There were some cat-like traits that Meeko had that were obvious and some that were more subtle. This was one that most wouldn't pick up on, bringing a "gift" from a recent hunt to a friend or someone close. Granted it wasn't as bad dropping a dead bird at Atrix's tend, but it was still cute. His big grin showed just how proud he was of his kill. That and he was happy to see Atrix come back to camp so he would have someone he knew to talk to and hang out with.

"Food?"

The moment Atrix heard Meeko's voice, he was glad he decided to take the bird's suggestion...even if it was probably just a random coincidence, but then when Meeko brought up food Atrix remembered his hunger and went into high gear.

No, actually Atrix ran faster then he meant to. Ever since his Demon King Blood awakened, his body and abilities had been rapidly increasing. Of course, not too rapidly so Atrix himself had not become fully aware. He understood it was strange, but he thought maybe it was his growth spurt...even if it might be bad down the road. It was well known that sometimes, instead of having a physical growth spurt, mages would have a magic one. Or at least it would take away from the physical one.

But he was still completely unaware of the Demon King's Blood that had awakened within him. He sensed he was gaining power, and Meeko had likely noticed, but that his father was secretly Demon King Millen, who should have died 1000 years ago but was secretly alive, and that he had inherited the Demon King's Blood from him was a complete mystery.

The Demon King's Blood gave a variety of benefits besides physical and magical enhancement, such as access to special abilities that while seemed like magic operated outside it in certain ways. Regenerative abilities too, and the ability to use certain magics and powers most could not acquire or handle. Of course, with that power came various side effects, some of which were directly a result of that power and were the reason Demon Kings did not populate the world.

For example, Demon King Blood intentionally will only awaken around ten or eleven and then stop all growth completely because the power sucks up all the nuitrients meant for that, or takes over the processes used for that and converts them into something else like regenerative abilities. However, this also makes it virtually impossible for a Demon King to reproduce because they are stuck at that age, and even then the power also diminishes any reproductive abilities. And then, Demon King's and their power just naturally makes them prone to getting involved in things that prevent them from taking time to really form relationships.

And also, despite the amazing abilities and stats of a Demon King, they are not invincible. Power alone does not guarantee success, and one must always consider strategy, skill, and just general compatibility of combat techniques.

And also, Demon King's had something else which made that whole explanation relevant. It was not well known, but they had famous appetities. Demon King Millen had to hire four full time cooks once in order to keep himself completely satisfied.

But in the process, because of his speed Atrix ended up barreling at Meeko on accident...though in the process he somehow managed to bite into/catch the meet in his mouth.

And in a mumbled voice full of food he was now chewing... "Sorry about that..."

Meeko laughed before giving Atrix a playful tousling of his hair.

"Don't worry about it kid." Meeko said. Watching Atrix attack a huge leg of meat that was almost as big as he was, it was just too funny and Meeko had to hold back his laughter.

"So, I made new friend while you were gone." Meeko pointed over at the group of kids using the high tech camping equipment. "That's him over there, he's a technomancer, he might be able to help with some of your inventions. His name's Hayden."

They walked back to the fire and sat down while Atrix ate.

"So what's the deal with these field trips anyway? Is there any structure to them? Is there a schedule of events or are we pretty much just thrown into the woods to fend for ourselves?" Meeko was curious because he hadn't heard much from the teachers since they arrived.

"Oh good! I know not all the people are jerks, its only a small portion, but the others just don't want to get caught up in it. Cant really help.. Its good that we are making progress on the friends department! And good, given that I spent the last few nights working on some processors. Good to have a second set of eyes".

As he started to walk back over to the main camp, he considered the purpose of the field trips.

"Officially? They are for training, testing, experimentation, and all sorts of stuff. How large scale magic can work in the real world, improving survival skills, seeing how certain new technologies interact with the real world. That is the official story, and to be fair that is what tends to happen....but, truthfully? Its just here to give us a break and have some fun".

He then pondered some things, and added an extra bit.

"But occasionally, after the first day and the first night, they have some fun activities planned in the name of testing and training. I heard a rumor that we will be 'improving agility and throwing skills' which usually translates into dodgeball...I wonder..."

Atrix wondered just how his new abilities would help him in dodgeball...and Atrix started to have some fun ideas.

"Yeah, I'm glad we're making friends too." Meeko agreed. He took another piece of the meat from in front of the fire, now it had a more smokey flavor to it.

"Well, I like the idea of a nice vacation. Dodge ball, huh? I'm the king of that game, but it's hard to hit someone when the ball goes right through them, or when they can turn into vapor." Meeko laughed thinking about the look of shock on the other kids' faces when they couldn't hit him. "Oh look, Hayden's coming over." He pointed out when he saw Hayden make his way across the camp.

"Hey, guys mind if I join you here? The other techies started playing video games, but not the ones that I like so I thought it'd be nice to go hang out with new people." Hayden smile a warm friendly smile.

"That's fine with me." Meeko returned the smile.

"Oh, hello there, I'm Hayden. I met Meeko earlier, you must be Atrix. You're the other kid who went up against those cyber dragons. You guys are so brave for taking them on head on and not just running away. I don't think I could have done that at your age." He said as he sat down next to Meeko.

Aeka first looked to her two guards, offering them both a smile, but the sound of her stomach growling at the mention of food was just too much, briefly casting her eyes downward in embarrassment.

The moment was fleeting, and Aeka would soon find herself wearing a smile once more.

"I would like to try Pizza, we don't have anything like that back on Niihama, and I have to eat whatever the Imperial Chefs prepare at the behest of my brother." She said, offering a polite nod.

"I will go wherever people decide, I am not picky!"

"Well it does help that most of those jerks who bully us...well, me, were not in the same grade as us and have their field trip at the same time".

Astrius Academy Grades were extremely flexible and technically each person's schedule was tailored, but it was true there were grades and that older people were typically in higher grades. Now, the average grade itself often had an average age range where it would not be surprising to have students five or six years apart from each other in terms of age. After all, it all depended on ability and how much they needed to learn.

Atrix and Meeko had to learn a lot, and so did Hayden. Even if Atrix was a genius with magic tool creation and quite good at magic itself, as well as being familiar with various scientific methods like Kordan's Rules (he discovered the same thing Newton did, and their discoveries mirror each other), the Scientific Theory of Mana, and Energy Conversion factors.

However, Atrix lacked a good amount of common sense of the world. He was a nomad for his whole childhood, going from place to place. He got a good base education, but there was a lot of core stuff he was still missing. Plus, there was plenty about Origin that even Atrix did not know, let alone the other two, though he would know more hten them not just because he lived on the planet the longest, but because he was also a former nomad.

As Hayden introduced himself, Atrix greeted him back.

"Yeah, my name is Atrix. Atrix Akir. As for the Cyberdragons..."

Atrix remembered the humiliating position they had been in. Thankfully no photos somehow got taken, though Atrix was sure somehow Milo was involved, but in such a public place...

",,,thanks for the praise. I gotta say, they went really extreme that time. Luckily, I think that wont happen again, or at least very often. Cyberdragons...seriously, who came up with that idea?"

Atrix mentioned that as he started looking through his backpack that he had left nearby for more food as it started to get late.

"I see. Then if that is your reasoning, the All Serving Court it is! If you want to taste pizza because it is not found on your world, then you will also be able to encounter and taste other foods you normally would not find there either!"

Stating that reason, Milo pointed out a direction and, while keeping an eye on a certain Star Dragon so she did not cause any issues or wander off and get into trouble, also secretly had a familiar cloaked, using presence concealment, noise concelation, and phasing magic linked with his mind so he could also keep an eye on what was behind them...and his son, Atrix Akir.

Millen had one thousand years. He had practiced all manner of stealth and concealment magic to make sure no one ever realized he was still alive, so he was a master of masters. Actually, his ability was so good he could hide from gods, and unknowingly, even Ruuka himself. The Lord of the Void.

It did not take long to find the All Serving Court. Even still, somehow while traveling in a group Atrix almost got distracted, wander off, and then almost got lost if Millen had not been monitoring him. He was a True Nomad, no clear direction, just wandering wherever. It shouldn't even be possible to get lost on the way to this place, because that huge Particle Accelerator building was nearby! Millen realized he might have to train Atrix in how to have a sense of direction before any Demon King Blood Powers.

And then, after getting them a table, menues were passed out. They were made using Enchanted Digital Paper, and while appearing as common paper menues had a scroll option, searching options, categories and sections. In it, there was pizza of all kinds with all sorts of toppings, burgers and milkshakes as well. But there was also eastern food, such as sushi, and there were also Origin Originals such as Leviathan Torvets, which was Leviathan Meat stuffed with Mozzerella, with spices from the Duskus Continent, and then cooked to the user specified temperature.

There was also a less meaty option, The Razzleberry Mix, which used Razzleberries which are native to Origin, and this drink mixed them with smaller amounts of other berries to give it a good taste. There was also the Rosetta Field, a vegetarian meal that served various vegetables and fruits found on the Rosetta Continent with added spices also found here to give it a delectable taste.

And that was only the tip of a rather extensive menu they could choose from.

Hayden nodded. "Yeah, a lot of the kids in the higher grades can get pretty arrogant."

Hayden himself was eighteen, but he was in one of the lower grades for a number of reasons. While he was born and raised on Origin, his parents were not native to this world like he was. While he was raised in Questrios city he was a bit of a juvenile delinquent, using his powers to get into all manner of trouble from cheating at games in the arcade to tricking his teachers into thinking that the tech in the class room was possessed. His powers were unique and something that could have only evolved on a planet like Origin. He went to a traditional school most of his life, but, after being banned from so many establishments in Questrios, his parents sent him to the academy when it opened so he could learn discipline and learn more about other forms of magic. The headmaster had deemed that he wasn't mature enough and had too much to learn to be in one of the higher classes. This was very sobering information to Hayden and he has been working on getting his act together the last couple of years.

"They used to pick on me too, but to be fair I used to deserve it. I was a bit of a jerk when I got here and I used my powers irresponsibly." Hayden explained.

"I wish our torment was deserved." Meeko sighed. "Best I can figure is that most the guys who pick on us are mad because we're cute and the girls seem to like us. I mean, yeah, I got the whole kitty thing going for me and Atrix there is adorable, even if he won't admit it, but that's not a good reason to attack someone. If they want a reason to attack me, I'm more than willing to give them a good one." Meeko growled a little as he retracted his claws and dribbles of his venom slowly dripped from them.

Meeko looked through the menu. There were a number of items that he didn't recognize, most of which he assumed were because he wasn't from this planet. He scrolled down the menu a little but he soon realized it was far too big of a menu to read the whole thing. He went back to the search option and entered Felinoid Cuisine into the search. The menu changed to a list of meaty options fit for the wildest of big cats. He scanned the options and by the time the waiter came to take their orders he had figured everything out.

"I'll have the stuffed Leviathan shank with the roasted garlic potatoes, and a Razzleberry milkshake." Meeko spoke politely when it was his turn to order.

Atrix still found it extremely embarrassing when he was called adorable. After all, he was a boy. That much should be expected, and maybe it was something he acted normally in.

"I mean, its not even for the times when I pull an all nighter in my private lab working on stuff. I wasn't even aware that was the reason...are they really that jealous? I mean, I never thought of myself that way...not with the way my whole clan...looked..."

It appeared that Atrix himself accidentally stepped on a landmine, and remembered the destruction of his whole clan. He already had some tears, and looked like he was about the cry...but, he managed to resolve himself before he burst into tears.

No, there was something else that drove him. Besides, it had been months, maybe even a year now, since that incident. He had to grow and get stronger...but also, he really wanted to resolve this sort of thinking. And so, he took out a Holo Projector, and resolving himself for the pain, activated it and showed the two of them something.

It was images...images of all the various members of the Akir clan before they died. Fun images, training images, a few embarrassing ones Atrix did not realize were in there, including that time when he and the other kids got paint all over themselves, or when they skinny dipped in that oasis, and such...

However, one thing was perfectly clear from these images. It was not just Atrix. The entire Akir clan either had amazingly handsome looks, breathtaking beauty, or were unrealistically cute. It should also be noted that the shorts Atrix usually wore seemed to be the popular design there, since they allowed so much room to breath and did not impede movement.

"See! Look at that! Compared to them, I am normal!"

Of course, in truth Atrix would probably be considered superior to them, but that was because of the Demon King Blood in his system that pretty much maxed out his body's stats, including charisma. And because it was himself, he didn't realize or recognize that at all.

Atrix suddenly grabbed another bit of food by the fire and stuffed it down his mouth...no, if anyone had been paying attention, he had been doing that this whole time. And yet, he didn't look phased at all. It was one of the school's seven mysteries on where Atrix stored all that food...or why he didn't go to the bathroom as much as he should given how much he eats.

"Its starting to get late...we might need to head to sleep before tomorrow. Have you figured out where you are sleeping yet, Hayden?"

"Really?!" Meeko chuckled. "You think that this makes you seem less adorable? If anything this just proves that you're going to grow up to be really attractive."

Hayden nodded in agreement. "Face it, you're cursed to be handsome for the rest of your life." Hayden laughed. "But to answer your question, yeah I got a tent over with the other techies." He smiled before taking one of the few chunks of meat that Atrix hadn't yet eaten. He took a few bites and ate much slower than the other two. "Yeah it is getting kinda late though, I should probably get to bed too. See you guys tomorrow." He waved as he headed back to his tent. Meeko yawned and stretched as he stared into the fire.

"Wh...what?! No no no, it was supposed to have the opposite effect! It was supposed to make me look less adorable!"

Atrix was completely and totally defeated, and fell to his hands and knees with some tears. After all, all of his hard work...

"I even tried using an experimental growth formula on myself...and there has not been a single result yet..."

Atrix also accidentally revealed something about him that was dangerous. Self experimentation was a horrible idea. Atrix was a genius, but he was also an idiot at times.

With that loss, he started to walk towards the tent he had brought for him and Meeko. It was a magic tent he made that was bigger on the inside. It had almost everything...the only thing it lacked was running water at the moment, because while he could make a mobile power source, get a bunch of things working inside, he could not spawn an entire functional plumbing system into a camp ground. Technically there was a sink, but it ran on a single container of water and should only be used if absolutely necessary. But, it did have plenty of room for the both of them. Yes, it should be fine.

"Ah, Atrix, Meeko!"

Suddenly, as he was approaching his tent, a camp councilor that had been standing in front called over to them before Atrix even walked that far.

"I hope you don't mind, but uhh...well, we had a bit of an issue. There was a sort of transfer student that did not bring a tent, and he was getting sleepy, so uhhh...I let him stay in one of your bedroom's. I am really sorry, but I was told I absolutely had to make sure he was comfortable! Not that you don't deserve it too! I, uhh...anyways, I hope you and Meeko will be okay with sharing a bed, since you are roommates anyways. Well, since I figured you might not want to share a bed with someone you never met yet. But I am sure tomorrow you will get along great!"

Atrix just stared at this councilor as he gave those excuses, and also was a bit embarassed and also a bit...sad. That was probably because the last time he shared a bed, it was with other children of his clan. And in the first place, he had not brought anything to sleep in since he had thought, thanks to the tent he brought, they would not be in that situation. It was not like he minded Meeko, since they woke up at the same time and the boy's shower room was not that private, and they shared a room anyways, but because this came up out of nowhere he was not sure what to do at first...

"Who is this person?"

"Ah...his name is Ixian Rixy...he is actually an orphan, younger then you. That was also why...I thought it was best if he was around someone he could get along with".

The moment he heard orphan though, Atrix heard the situation and let it go. He knew all too well the pain of being alone, and he did not have the heart to kick someone out who went through that. He then looked towards Meeko.

"Alright. Do you mind bunking then, or should I take the couch? I don't mind what you prefer, the couch is quite comfortable. I did make it myself last week over ni..ni..over a few days!"

Atrix's tongue slipped on that last part. Since, from what he made sure everyone who got concerned about his work ethic thought, he did not pull any all nighters last week.

Meeko couldn't turn away an orphan either, it was clear this was why the counselor had chosen them to bunk with the kid as both he and Atrix were orphans as well. It was a little unexpected but he didn't mind all that much. He was, however, a little upset that Atrix was sneaking off to the lab and pulling all-nighters again. It was Meeko's job to make sure that Atrix was staying healthy and his lack of sleep wasn't good for his studies. He also wasn't thrilled to hear that Atrix was experimenting on himself, especially over something as petty as the fact that he didn't want to look cute.

"I don't mind bunking together, I can sleep just about anywhere." He said with no concern for himself. He could tell that Atrix wasn't thrilled with the idea of a stranger coming into the tent and invading his privacy, but he also knew that Atrix was too nice for his own good. Meeko planned to keep an eye on this kid, just as precaution, until he got a good read on him. Meeko was usually a pretty good judge of character and didn't want to assume the worst before he even met the guy. His tail twitched a little as they walked to the tent, he didn't hear the counselor say when this Ixian boy would be joining them, so he felt a little anxious.

"Ah good. He was already a bit sleepy, so I had to put him in there already, so thats good to hear. Glad there wont be any problems" the councilor told them as he gave them a good smile. Atrix was a little bit shocked to hear his room was already occupied, and wanted to get a bit mad at this councilor...except he was actually a pretty nice person, and he once let him hide from bullies in his classroom so Atrix decided to let it go.

"Ahh, well, I was not sure if you were comfortable sharing a bed and not...actually, thinking of both our sleeping habits and since I don't want to make you sleep elsewhere, maybe it would just be best if I took the couch and..."

Atrix was about to continue, but the councilor suddenly started to emit a fierce aura and had a bit of a scary smile, though it appeared to mostly be directed at Atrix.

"Ah, that wont do. Meeko, sorry if it seems weird for you, but please make sure you keep direct physical contact with him while sleeping. Just in case he tried to slip out of anything he was wearing..."

"Wait wait, teacher! What are you..."

"Just now, when you suggested you would take the couch in your tent, you were actually thinking about doing more late night experiments, maybe even doing a few on Ixian out of caution, instead of sleeping right? Listen, I know it was kind of bad for me to inconvienence you with Ixian, and I am sorry for that, but that is because I am acting as a councilor for this camping trip. And I happen to both know your bad habits, and as a teacher and councilor look after your health! Which is why..."

He then turned to Meeko and gave him a nod. Even though it was dark, it kind of felt like that he was glowing a bit as he displayed the attitude and determination of a model teacher that looks after his students.

"I am sure you will be fine handling this. But absolutely, do not let Atrix stay up all night working on some experiment. I am counting on you as his roommate and friend, got it?"

"It's not that bad!"

"It is!"

Ellie turned around so fast you might think it would snap her neck or at the very least result in whiplash. So quick was she in turning that she wound up spinning a few times and falling on her butt from the sudden dizziness that followed. Head lolling from side to side a bit once or twice she finally managed to Face the source of the voice. Her response getting caught in her throat as she realized who had just spoken and remembered the mess she had just made. She nervously avoided eye contact at this point before nodding quickly and scampering off. Hoping Mr. Azler Didn't notice the mess of foam until she was clear.

She showed up shortly at the cafeteria for lunch gasping for breath from her mad dash. She doubled over to gulp down air greedily. She made to hurry towards the serving line but slipped on some slimy condiment of some sort. Stumbling foreward in a struggle to regain her balance and avoid cracking her head on the floor or a nearby table she Bumped into someone from behind and wound up falling on her butt once again. "OOF" . She looked up slowly to see who it was.
