"There's only one thing in life I don't suck at, and that's flying."

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by The Hayknll Theory

Description

Melanie Storm, her last name is as good a description as any. A storm in the sky, but upon the ground, she's just a fog.

Mel's life has been interesting, to say the least. A member of the Dalian race, humanoids bred by slave traders for combat, Melanie Storm was born free upon a pirate ship, The Huntress. Raised by the captain and crew, Mel spent her life doing what her race was bred to do, fight, sleep, and fight some more. A bonus to her position was that she had more fun as a pirate than any Dalian had as a soldier. But while fighting and stealing was her job, her passion was flying. The Huntress was a Ragnarok, a fenrir class battleship built by an ancient race that locked it's secrets away with their passing, and only three of the ships still exist. It takes a special kind of pilot to fly a Ragnarok, they're designed with a integration system that functions much as a mental control unit, but instead of flying by thought, the pilot has to control the ship by heart and instinct. While many pilots can boast of instinctual skills, the Ragnarok is entirely different. The ship isn't designed to fly like a machine, but rather like a living, breathing creature. In order to fly it, the pilot has to be as if she is the ship, something that Melanie excelled at. Nothing made her happier than flying that ship.

But one day, her passion became her curse. The captain, a greedy man with little to no heart left for the world, plotted to sell his crew, the ship, and Melanie to the very traders who bred her race. An ambush planned by the captain almost succeeded, but Melanie was awoken by the ship. She attempted to fight the traders and escape, and only partially succeeded, during the assault her family, the crew, was slain, the captain sucked out the airlock, and The Huntress badly damaged.

She crash landed on a backwater dirtball called Earth, and was taken in by it's people. The ship, being of advanced technology beyond the understanding of any known life, quickly repaired itself, even as the traders descended to take the entire population of Earth as live stock. In the week before the traders arrived, Melanie made many friends upon that place, and as the slavers came to take them, Melanie took flight once more and sought to end the threat to her friends.

It is still unclear what exactly transpired, but the people of earth bore witness to a historic event. The beings who created the Ragnarok ships created them so as to become living creatures upon acquiring a "heart". It turns out that the "heart" The Huntress required was in fact Melanie, who was symbiotically fused to the ship. At that moment, Melanie Storm as she was, And the Huntress as it had been, ceased to be. They were replaced by a single entity, and as a result the true power of the ship was revealed. What had once been a simple space borne vessel had become a warrior, the ship transformed into a humanoid shape, and wielded weapons of energy and crystal.

Melanie destroyed the slavers and ran away from earth, seeking a place where a creature such as her could find understanding of what she was, and perhaps even find a purpose for her power.

So begins...

An explosion of sound, like screeching metal against solid stone, and a tear in space itself. Suddenly, a great red ship in the middle of the void of space, and it's captain yelling obscenities.

"God damnit where is that mother fucker I'mma tear him three new ass holes to shit from!" Melanie raves to herself, being the only person on her ship currently. "grrrrrr"

All throughout the ship is silence and shadow, as though there is nothing within, no living soul.
In her seat as the pilot the captain sighs and retreives herself from her stupor. She turns to a console and then steps up from the seat and sets off to the elevator. As she does so all the lights within the ship activate, revealing an empty place of sorrow.

There was none of these, as he reached the end of the hall the door would open with a hiss and allow him into a large room with a strange sort of elegance to it, as though a fuedal era lord met with modern japanese craftsmen and created this ship.

Melanie sighed, her eyes glowing green as she rode the access elevator to the crew quarters, her vision focused upon her visitor. She set off through the quarters and the doorway to the main hall.

Stepping forward into the light and looking up at Godrage, Melanie sighed and waved. "Well come on you slow poke." She then kept on moving off, passing through the door of the conference room.

"you like it? I do too, Tia's a real nice girl once you get to know her. A bit of a handful at times though" Melanie said, her voice seeming to come from the walls, floor, and cieling of the ship all at once.

"Yes she did, no Tia is not the name of the ship just the name I gave her cuz it's easier to say than the full thing, Yes I'm connected to it, on a level you couldn't possibly begin to fathom, so no theres no mic, and no your not a prisoner. Also I would be careful of your thoughts on this ship. Technically speaking, while your on this ship your in my dimension, and so nothing you say, think, or do is hidden." Melanie was suddenly in several places at once, as Godrage's head would begin to throb and pulse.
It would stop as quickly as it had started, leaving only the feeling of danger. Melanie stood at the head of a conference table, looking out a view screen to the outside space as the ship sped by at a easy cruising speed of two hundred fifteen parsecks per minute.

"I never get tired of seeing planets and stars zipping by one after another. God Tia your fast."

She didn't respond first, but when she did it was in a tone that sounded sad, lonely even. "My name is Captain Melanie Storm, Fourth air battalion of the Mindus colony militia force. I was selected for experimentation with this ship, The Huntress, fourth warrior of Ragnorok. The result was a binding of mind, body, and soul. I've been flying through space for the past seven thousand years. Everyone I know or cared about is gone.... I don't really know why I'm telling you all this, maybe I'm really as depressed as Tia says, but it doesn't matter."

She then turns to face him. "I didn't save you by good graces, I'm tired of being the only one on this ship, and Tia is tired of it too. I want a crew, and you look like some one who's capable of finding more than a few people eager for work."

Melanie Storm frowns, turning away from him. "....Which do you think is more important, a child getting a bruise or an entire world getting into a war of utter destruction?"

She suddenly shatters into a thousand peices, that scatter throughout the ship and vanish. Her voice continues to Echo at Godrage however. "I really hope that you end up being wrong, because I'm very tired of being alone."

And with that, Godrage would find himself suddenly off the ship, in the dark alley of an old spaceport, where the sounds of commerce reach him from not so far away.

Out in the depths of space, Melanie's great warpship, The Huntress, continuly circled the station, and any ships that attempted to leave or enter the station were immediatly destroyed. The news bulliten dictated that at least two seperate battalions of warships, cruisers, and destroyers were sent to aid the station, and all of them had been reduced to burning ruins and debris.

The Bulliten rotated to a picture of the Ship, it's dragon head prow with it's green eyes, which seemed to focus on Godrage, as if even through the station hull, It could still see it's prey.

The station would suddenly rock as a heavy impact struck it, and then another. In fact, on the outside of the station The Huntress had changed, where the forward weapon banks had been there were now two muscled arms of the same color and design as the rest of the ship. The fingers had a white glow to them, as though comprised of solid lightning. These hands had grabbed the station, and the ship had begun to physically drag said station off.

The sheer strength of The Huntress, the power at Captain Storms command, was frightful indeed.

She wouldn't stop him no, but would instead rapidly integrate with his bodysuit as well. The integration would take a few moments, resulting in a slightly scuffed appearance on his suit, the only sign of tampering.

"I don't have a problem with that, but you should hurry, she's dragging this station to a black hole."

And sure enough a black hole was the destination of the station, and it would arrive within the next fifteen to twenty minutes, the speed of the ship not diminished in the slightest, despite dragging such a weight.

Where once there was open space, there was suddenly a large red warship, the size of a corvette class cruiser. It didn't warp, it wasn't cloaked, it was just suddenly there, like some nocturnal creature stepping out of the shadows to face it's prey.

The ship was built for war, that much was obvious at a first glance. Closer inspection showed that it wasn't just built for war, but seemed the very incarnation of intership combat. Drop pod channels lined it's belly, a heavy duty MachWave Cannon sat underneath it's main chassis, and mounted near it's prow were forward weapon banks capable of changing munitions within moments. It's prow was a dragons head with green eyes and a large green gemlike structure set above it's horns.

And as the other ship came into view, those eyes lit up, and the four prehensile thrusters fired up and opened, like the wings of a hawk preparing to take flight.

A moment later the ship, the corvette sized ship, blurred past Zanetta's ship within what seemed a single moment and turned to face her rear.
Those paying close attention would swear that the dragon was grinning at the other ship. A deadly grin, a Huntress's grin...

"Heh, coming right at me eh? Your either very very brave, or incredibly stupid." A voice would sound, crackling, out of the comms system of Zanetta's ship, and the Red ship, The Huntress, would once more fade from view, as if it had never been there.

Only to reappear to the side of Zanetta's ship, where it it's MachWave Cannon began to charge up. The weapon was a deadly design, an intense focus magwave beam with the force to burn a whole through the solid core of a planet, combined with a fourty ton depleted Malakium slug. In short, a gun with power to punch a whole through a red sun. It's power was so much that it usually was only used against entire fleets where the slug could be slowed across several ships. However by using only seventeen percent power, The Huntress could easially destroy it's prey without causing collateral damage.

The eyes flashed once more, the only warning before the cannon was fired.

As zanetta entered the ship, the lights came on, and a woman with pitch black hair stood in front of her. The woman gave the creature before it a once over and chuckled. "Because I wanted to." She said, an evil smile on her face.

The Huntress's eyes flashed green again and the thrusters activated to maximum power as the dragon's maw opened. A sound like the screech of a hawk tore forward from the maw, causing a ripple in space, through which the Huntress flew through, vanishing without a trace, like it had just dove into a puddle.

Melanie Storm frowned, then stood next to the torn wires. She didn't move, per say, it was much like the movement of the ship itself, she was simply in another place, without warning or movement. "You certainly made a mess on your way in, What are you?" She said as she turned around and walked through Zanetta, her body as insubstantial as air. She continued walking down the tunnel, where a door opened and closed behind her.

"Well, come on. Don't have all day to wait for you." Her voice sounded, as though she was right next to Zanetta.

The door leads into an open area with upper walkways, upon which you stand, following the wall to two more doors in the back, then converging at the far wall into a stairway. On the lower level in front of the stairway is a door that leads to some form of Conference room. And underneath the doors above to either side of the walkway opposite Zanetta are more doors, each one leading to the drop pod rails. Under the stairway is another door which leads to the crew's sleeping quarters, galley, medical bay, and main elevator, which leads up to the bridge, or down to the cargo bay.

Melanie stands at the far end of the room, waiting on the staircase. "Frankly I don't care one way or another. I had hoped you would be more fun than you were but I was wrong. Also I should warn you to be very, very careful what you say to me. While I'm sure that getup of yours can help you survive open space for a few hours or so, I doubt you'd like a permanent residence." She glared at Zanetta to make her point. "At any moment, as long as your inside this ship, I can put you anywhere I want to. The moment you set foot in here you stepped into a field of interlaced energy, and I'm able to manipulate matter within that energy, meaning I can put you anywhere in this ship I want to at any moment, even inside the guns. So, I believe you want to apologize."

Melanie Storm shrugged. "I don't know, I haven't had to eat for about seven million years or so, so I have no idea whats in the Galley." She climbed down the stairs and went behind them, where a pneumatic hiss signaled the opening of the door beneath the stairs.

"There never was a crew, It's just me. As to what happened, well...." She sighed and sat in one of the mess hall chairs, the whole place seemed as though it hadn't been touched since the day it had been built. "The ship was built to destroy entire warfleets by itself, and that much power needs something to hold it in check. So the ship has a special generator that can only be activated by a living creature with a proper synchro rating, or at least thats what I was told when they plugged me in."

She lays her head on her folded arms in front of her. "That was so long ago I don't even remember the number of years.... Now I'm just bored and alone, popping up here and there, blowing stuff up.. You know."

"I'm Melanie, and I'm not suprised in the slightest. This ship was designed by an ancient race of creatures who's empire covered the known universe, and most of the unknown as well. Theres a database of planets and star systems here" taps her head "with information that would blow most any ones mind. And in fact, Yautja Prime used to be one of the primary holdings of a lord of that race." She chuckled as the information came to her. "It was his 'breeding grounds' up till ascension."

Sighs and looks at the galley, which lights up as several automated systems begin preparing a base military meal. With a cook, the kitchen would be able to provide many many different options for dining, but in this setting it could only provide bare essential nutrition for a multitude of races.

"This ship was made to defend a device in the Madia tengo galaxy, about four thousand eight hundred ninety seven parseks from here. That device gathered up all forms of energy within seven light years and converted the entire race that built it into energy beings, who then left this universe behind. This ship, and ten others like it, along with a collection of 'spire' and 'tower' stations were left behind, derelict and without use, until this one was found on my home colony of Magdra seven. I was a pilot in an army back then, the best, so they decided to use me for to pilot this ship. Only instead of piloting, the ship used me as a sort of battery, dissolving my body and... well, suffice it to say that I've spent a very long time alone for no reason other than because somone was curious."

Melanie Storm didn't seem perturbed by Zanetta's appearance, but got up and started walking in circles. Every so often she would split and there would be two of her, each walking it's own direction. This continued so that there were dozens of splits, sometimes the splits would rejoin to another and split again later.

Her mind was elsewhere as the ship prepared to enter a new area of space.

Another split about five meters behind Zanetta would respond. "Haven't really decided yet, I'm looking for an area with some decent activity. This ship's top speed is about four hundred parseks per hour, which is around ten thousand light years per second. Course moving at that speed with planets and stars and other things nearby can get a little... dangerous. This dimension is, for the most part, just empty space, so I get a little leeway in movement."

This time two splits answered in turn. "I can but-"
"-it's easier to get to the location-"
"-in this empty dimension first so-"
"-thats what I'm doing"

And another split said. "I'm bored, so right now I'm just running about, looking for something to do." She would turn to Zanetta "Hey you wanna visit your homeworld? Could drop you off as I pass by."
