Meya Aslaki

Meya is a Melter. Be astounded by the powers of Beyli & Co.'s star circus performer!

0 · 156 views · located in The Hidden Glen

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by pantalimon

Description

Meya has short-cropped red hair, only about as long as her chin. It turns out at the ends, and contrasts almost perfectly with her golden-flecked, emerald green eyes. Her eyelashes are extremely long, and she always complains about them getting in her way when she wants to use binoculars. Standing at five foot six, she is not a force to be trifled with. Tanned skin and muscles far more developed than the average teen's complete her performer-esque look.

Her power is a difficult thing to describe, as it is neither here nor there. Her molecular structure is bendable, even breakable, and allows her to 'melt' into things. If she were to back into a tree, with the intention of 'melting' in to it, her skin would read the tree's molecular structure and become everything the tree was. She would not be a human, standing in front of a tree any longer, she would be encased in it. However, there is a downside. If she remains 'melted' for too long, she will have more trouble turning herself back.
She does not age when she is melted, not physically, but she takes in all knowledge that object she has melted into has retained. Weapons such as knives are useless against her, she will simply absorb them, but a human fist is all it takes to send her flying. She cannot become what she already is. Her molecules won't change when they are that thing already.

Personality

Meya is as hostile and snappish as a lioness, with no softness to be found. Memories from her past have only ever succeeded in making her more angry, or frustrated, as she does not wish to remember. She has only ever been shown hate, and so believes that that is all she will ever be shown. She is a marvel to wonder at, a performer that amazes, not a young girl with a head full of gooey nonsense.

Equipment

She isn't to be caught without a pen, and it is the same pen every time. Were she to attempt to write with the pen, however, nothing would happen, as it is devoid of ink. So why carry it with her?

History

Her parents didn't want her, and after being traded off to several different foster homes she finally reached the age of sixteen. Once she had a driver's license, she took off, and wasn't seen or heard from again--not until she became a member of Beyli & Co. Circus did she reveal all that she could do, all of her abilities, and her full potential.

So begins...

Meya Aslaki nods her head, stepping around the doors and calmly examining the gigantic room, her eyes pausing over the brilliantly painted ceiling. "It's quite lovely here, you know." She walked forward, seeming to glide over the floors in her gracefulness. "I was curious, though," she turned to face the man who had invited her "as to why you sent the invitation, in the first place?"

Meya Aslaki sat herself in a chair along one of the long tables spanning the length of the room. Crossing her legs, she smiled with her teeth up at the man. "Christian, dear. You should just have said that in the letter." She tapped her ruby red fingernails against the wood of the table and looked up at him, expecting further information. Meya was still in touch with her old contacts, though it had been a few years since she'd been in town.

Meya Aslaki trod grandly into the bar, her feet hitting the ground with solid plunks as she came to the counter. Her drink order was quiet, almost whispered, completely in contrast with her manner of entering. She paid the tender the customary amount when he returned, and sipped from the glass she was given with a certain focus that one would not normally pay to a beverage. Once finished, Meya's eyes darted all about. Adrenaline from the shot she had given herself was still rushing her system. Finally, her gaze settled on a man covered in white from head to toe, much as she was soaked with water from the rain outside. "Prey tell," she slid over to the man, pupils drifting lazily over his attire "How is it that one is covered in snow, when it has not been winter for many months?"

Meya Aslaki touched his head, eyes blinking rapidly, and quickly withdrew her fingers. "Petty Officer, I believe you've been outranked." She gestured outwardly, towards the windows. "You're not on your home planet, that I can assure you." Rethinking this statement, she frowned. "Or, rather, nowhere near where you belong."

Meya Aslaki chuckled at the sight of his colored locks. "Is that regulation?" she managed through her laughter.

Meya Aslaki thought for a moment, gaze cautiously on his hand, and replied with a slow lilt "Aslak-i..." her voice trailed off, and she shook her head. "I'll try to mind my manners, but it's better if I don't shake your hand. The hand is more powerful than even the brain in relaying messages, you see."

Meya Aslaki beamed. "Absolutely nothing. What do you do there, if I may be so bold as to ask?" She interlaced her fingers and crossed her legs, finally sitting in the booth across from him instead of standing, awkwardly, at his side.

Meya Aslaki squinted at him. "When I racked through your mind; and forgive me for doing that, by the way--but when I did, I noted that you have an interface built-in? It sort of...got in the way of my prying." She gave a sheepish smile, and now began to twiddle her thumbs. She was nervous. Aslaki was never nervous, unless she'd done something she wasn't supposed to or was beginning to like someone's personality more than she ought to. Was it both, in this case?

Meya Aslaki grinned, one of her eyeteeth slipping out over her bottom lip. It made her look almost demonic, but she quickly brushed back her red hair and recovered from the onslaught of guiltiness. "I wouldn't worry. You seem to be...apprehensive, dear. I can't read you unless I'm touching you, and I certainly can't sync with you. Unless you've got metal body parts, or synthetic ones at the least." Though she had rifled through a few of the files, only one of them concerned anything she knew even remotely about. The man would, of course, find her in his interface system, but with restrictions on her file that even he wouldn't have access to.

Though her mind was no longer scanning Wesley's interface, Aslaki retained the information. Like she always did. She hadn't even melted into him. "I think you should know, I don't like to pry into people's lives. Just their...memories. It isn't anything against you specifically, but it's a necessary thing. I certainly hope you aren't the kind of man that guards his files with his own life."

Meya Aslaki held her hands up in surrender, palms facing out and towards Wesley. "Alright, alright. Truce!" She reached out and, at the perfect moment, snagged what turned out to be a martini from a waiter's passing tray. "Care for any?" She asked, after taking a sip.

Meya's eyebrows went up when Wesley deposited the large weapon on the table, and she reacted with a resounding "Fuck. They give you this sort of stuff in the militia?" She felt the need to reach out and touch it. As her hand was already halfway across the table, she decided it was also better to ask than simply lay her hands on it. "May I?"

With a rumble and a sigh, the large cement wall of the bathroom stall bubbled and spit out a young girl. The first thing from her lips was a curse, and the second, an order, immediately after she'd pushed open the bathroom door and made her way to the bar. "What'cha got?" she directed at who she assumed to be the bartender, Sabastian.

She grinned, rested her forearm on the counter top, and leaned forward. "What would you recommend?" This time she was careful to enunciate her last word, with just a hint of a deadly lilt. Again, her question was directed at Sebastian, but she was no longer considering if he worked there or not. Instead, her eyes took a swerve from the tender's to Kishou's. They lingered on him, for a few moments, as though she didn't mind if he saw her watching him. Because, in reality, she didn't; Meya could care less about his thoughts and feelings.

The girl exhaled a laugh. Her eyes went back to focus on the tender. "Right. I'm dangerous." Then, after a few moments of consideration, her order was "Irish Breakfast tea. One teaspoon of honey, and not a drop more."

While waiting for her tea, Meya focused on her fingernails. Their curve was getting out of its shape, which meant they needed filed, which in turn meant she was going to take another forty minutes out of her day to get them just right. "There's a saying," she said to her hands, though her words were for Kishou "that vodka renders the soul useless and invades the brain. Inhibitions, even, are out of service."

Meya Aslaki pondered how long she thought her drink should have taken, and decided that it was about five minutes too late. She stood and reached across the counter to touch his hand, wishing for his attention. "Sebastian, dear," her grin showed off the slight points of her eyeteeth. This really amounted to nothing but calcium buildup, but in a place that nearly anything could happen, a vampire was on the minds of most when they saw this. "I believe you've over boiled the water for my tea."

Meya Aslaki slid sideways in her seat and crossed her legs over one another. Now she decided to resume her conversation with Kishou. "Oh, I don't really give a damn what you think. But your health is important, is it not?" Without asking permission, she took his glass and sipped from it lightly. Her lips twitched back momentarily with disgust, and she shoved the container into his chest. "How on earth can you stomach the stuff?"

Meya Aslaki sneered outwardly. "And what do you suppose you'll do if you end up in a hand-to hand fight? Where will your 'corporation' goons be, then? Certainly not here." She was leaning towards Kishou a bit, but without really intending to do so. "If you've got your thoughts straight, it's easier to see the little things. The little wrong things."

Meya Aslaki stood, her eyes daring Kishou to do the same. "Alright. Why don't you show me what you can do?" the shadow of a smile curled her lips. "We can take it downtown."

Meya Aslaki ran a hand gently down a pillar, at the entrance. "It ought to be quiet, always. A fight is a fight, but only emotion is noise. You can't let that get into the way." She took a simple stance where she stood, legs spread shoulder width apart, but then paused. "I've changed my mind. I suggest your grab a weapon or two. Can't really be too fair without them, can it?"

Meya Aslaki guffawed. "Me? I was talking about you! I, uh, I've got what I need. I don't cheat, persay, but...I get done what needs done. Now, let's have some fun, shall we?" She fanned out her arms to either side, making herself as wide a target as possible. "Hit me."

A grin shadowed the air when the attacks were attempted. But just a grin, and only for a moment, before there was nothing. A breath whispered in Kishou's ear, the sound of a gurgling spring or the footsteps of the lightest fawn. "I don't cheat," it told him.

The voice again, this time louder, came from one of the pillars. "I don't need to." A hum filled the air all around Kishou, for a moment, before gentle hands were on the backs his shoulders, and then removed. "Hit me." Meya said again, from her position behind him.

The air around the girl was as a heat wave, difficult to see through, and almost looking as though it moved by itself. And, without warning, she was two feet farther from him than she had been before. "Come on, now, I'm practically handing this to you. I'm not fighting back, or stopping you. Hit me."
