Mikage sits by the grave, pouring himself some sake the shapes of dead spirits spinning around him as he fills up several more cups, chuckling as he did so. “For the dead you sure are thirsty.” He remarks as he looks up at the moon as he sips his sake. “However I suppose I cannot blame you, some of you look like you died from very stupid reasons. Did you not see the sword coming?” he asks one with a laugh. Getting a glare from the spirit, “Oh don’t be like that, everyone dies for stupid reasons.” He states as he sips his sake. “Everyone dies a fool.” He says with a boisterous laugh. One seems to speak to him as he snorts, “Well good luck finding someone killing me. Many have tried all have failed, must be they did it on a bad day for them, should have asked a fortune teller.” He teased them.

Mikage would notice another Spirit aside from the ones he was currently conversing with. This spirit took the form of an absolutely beautiful maiden, with long flowing white hair and deep blue eyes. She walking slowly, and seemed to be staring at a young man who also had white hair and blue eyes. However, he was real, and not a spirit. Every now and then, he'd look at her, as if wondering why she was still following him since the two never talked to one another.

Sol let out a sigh and walked into the Graveyard, his duel disk firmly on his left forearm, waiting to be used if need be. Holding his pants up was a belt that also had a separate pocket for his dueling deck, from which the beautiful spirit came from, as she was one of the monster cards in his deck.

He was apparently supposed to meet someone who wanted to duel in the Graveyard, but he only found MIkage sitting by the grave, talking to something that Sol, himself, could not see.

He stopped and cleared his throat as if to get Mikage's attention if he didn't have it already. "Excuse me, do you know where I could find a duelist? I was called her to duel and aside from you and me, I don't see anyone else here. The guy I'm looking for should be wearing a duel disk." he said, holding up his left forearm as to identify the contraption as a duel disk.

Mikage looks at the spirit girl with a shrug, "Hello, would you like something to drink?" he asks as he spies the human with her, a frown on his face. He brushes some of his white hair out of his face, his light red eyes staring at them both. “A…duelist? I am afraid I do not understand that term as you mean it.” He says, the spirits both of human and nature looking like they are going to defend the exorcist from this man.

“Duel disk? Odd name for something that just holds cards, why not just call it what it is? A toy.” He states as he sips his sake. “If you need that to summon spirits you must be a beginner.” He comments as he pours himself and others more sake. “Who would even pit spirits against each other for no purpose other than a contest…seems more than foolish.” He states with a laugh.

The Spirit girl smiles at Mikage, but shakes her head. "No, I'm fine, thank you." she said, proving that she can, in fact, speak. "I'm afraid Sol would be annoyed if I started bickering at him. He thinks it's bad enough I follow him. But he's the one with my card, so..." she shrugged with a small smile.

Sol glanced at the female spirit before looking at Mikage, and blinks slowly. "I don't need this to summon my spirits, I can make them real beings with the power of my mind, but that is very taxing, and...dangerous, since most of my spirits are used for mostly combat purposes. I know it sounds like...slavery... but it is not, I assure you. I merely hold their cards, and call upon them when I need them, otherwise, anything you see from me is merely a holographic projection. A petty copy of the real thing." he said.

He then sighed and shifted his weight to one side. "I suppose that means you haven't seen the one who called me out here to duel." he sighed, crossing his arms and looking away, almost as if he wanted to avoid eye contact.

"We could always drink with him!" the Spirit Girl suggested, floating next to him. Sol said nothing, but nodded in agreement.

Mikage nods, “Oh I understand I would be annoyed too if he was my companion.” He tells the girl with a laugh. The sake in the other cups slowly disappearing proving that others were drinking it, “As I said, you are a beginner if you need a toy to help you summon a spirit without it being dangerous, then again you are still a little boy I suppose.” He states bluntly.

“And what do the spirits get from you in return? You hold all the cards and use them. You are right that is slavery, and if you feel the urge to say ‘It sounds like slavery, but it is not.’ Without providing a reason, why you must know it is too.” He states calmly. “And to use them in what looks like a contest is…deplorable.” He remarks.

“I would offer a drink, but I fear you would be ill company for me. You probably could not hold your liquor and would lose control of the spirits in your…cards.” He states as he pours himself more sake, it looked like he was unafraid to state his mind, the spirits looked at him talking to him as he laughs, “Oh let him be mad at me. I do not care! What would it matter if one was mad at me? Many more are mad at me already.” He comments with a laugh.

The female spirit let out a giggle and sat, joining the rest of the spirits, but not taking any Sake, she just sat and quietly conversed with some of the other spirits by herself.

Sol, however, let out a small breath. "I don't require this toy to summon the spirits." he said. "I use this because otherwise I could kill someone with the power of some of my spirits. Anything that I summon using this toy, as you like to call it, is a only an image. It isn't real." he said calmly, looking at Mikage, but not making eye contact; was letting his shyness take hold a little bit.

"He keeps some of the spirits in line, other spirits, such as I, need his protection, since I am sought after by many card hunters." The female spirit answered Mikage's next question. "Other Spirits that he owns the cards to are loyal to me, and are therefore loyal in some part to him as he keeps me, their master, safe." she explained.

"Oh, my manners, I apologize. The humans call me the 'Maiden With Eyes of Blue' but I prefer to simply be called Maiden." she said. "This here, is Sol." she gestured to the young man with the duel disk.

Sol sighed, trying to keep calm. Surely Mikage was simply messing with him! "I... do not know if I can hold my liquor, I've never tried any." he admitted, an embarrassed look on his face.

"As I said before you are a beginner if you cannot keep a spirit in line." he states as he sips his sake taking out another cup for the woman, his family emblems showing on it. “And you have only proven by not answering me, why what you are doing isn’t slavery is in fact slavery.” He remarks with a smirk. “Oh the foolish are amusing.” He states as a ghost looks at him, “Well of course that means you as well. You couldn’t see a sword coming from a mile away.” He remarks to him.

“Well then you need to be find a way to protect yourself and not rely on others. Simple as that.” He states with a shrug to the girl.

“Never had a drink? Well then you most certainly would be very, very poor company and a poor drinker. First time drinking and you want sake. Oh you poor fool.” He remarks as he finishes his drink, cupping his cup gently in his pale alabaster hands.

Sol shook his head. It seemed that no matter how he explained his situation, he couldn't win, not against Mikage, who was insistent on doubting things that he'd made clear. He then sat down and sighed again. "I can't win this argument, so I'm going to stop trying." he said as calmly as he could.

Maiden looked at Sol then back to Mikage. "I can't protect myself. I'm very weak, but, I control some of the strongest monsters around, so as a way of saying thank you, they fight his battles for him." she tried to explain as best as she could, however she was probably making it worse for Sol.

"I don't want a drink. Besides, I know better than to start drinking with Sake." Sol said calmly, sighing yet again.

Mikage smirks, “So you let others do the fighting for you? Interesting. You should rely on your own strength though, others won’t protect you all the time.” He comments to her. “Oh so he is just a coward, I understand now.” He says with a chuckle as he plucks a flower from a nearby grave and twirls it in his hand. “He should learn as well to fight his own battles.” He murmurs as he looks at the star coated sky.

“Oh really you do? Is that one of the few things you know then? Don’t think too hard on that of course, wouldn’t want you to hurt your brain.” He chides him as he pours himself another cup of sake, the flower still in his hand. Faint humming could be heard around him as the spirits drink their offering. “Apologies that it is just sake, next time I will bring dumplings.” He tells them.

Maiden shrugged. "I would rely on my own strength if I had any. I don't have any offensive or defensive capabilities. I can only bring forth more powerful monsters in self defense." she explained. "And he isn't a coward, he is just following the rules of being a duelist." she said. "So...I guess battles was the wrong word." she said. If spirits could anime sweat drop, she'd be doing it right now.

Sol closes his eyes. "Why do you insist on taunting me? I don't even know you." Sol said, confused as to why Mikage simply continued to taunt him.

Mikage frowns and shakes his head, “No one is without offensive or defensive capabilities, they are always in us, we just have to unleash it.” He offers, “So using others to fight a battle that might not be their own is part of this duelist code? Sounds dishonorable.” He remarks with a shake of his head as some of the other spirits nod their head in agreement to him some talking to him. “I will I swear it. I do not lie.” He states to them as he takes another sip.

“Do I need a reason to do anything I do?” he asks the man. “I do not believe I do. I do what I want and say what I say. I do not restrain myself with nicety in either sense. If you can’t take it, well leave. I will not stop or move. After all it was you who interrupted me, not the other way around.” He comments drily as he blows on the flower, the petals coming off and turning into fire before disappearing into puffs of ash.

Maiden thought for a second, but then shrugged. "I guess you're right....I just haven't found my capabilities." she said. "That is correct, it's a part of the duelist code. And it is dishonorable. However, most duelists don't know that their cards have their own spirits and feelings, and that is why they carelessly summon them and let them be defeated in battle. Sol understands us, or at least he tries his best to, is is trying to find a way to free us from being used in a card game. But to do that, he needs to find some strange mythical artifacts." she explained with a sigh. "Too bad he doesn't know where to begin looking." she groaned.

"Right here, Maiden. Didn't need to hear that, not from both of you." Sol said, biting back his anger. He then looked at Mikage and frowned. "I...used to be like you; I did and said what I wanted without hesitation...but.....that has gotten me into more trouble than I care to think about." he said. "Namely with the very spirits I now desperately try to hold onto a friendship with. Maiden here is the only one who follows me around anymore." he said, a tinge of sadness in his voice.

Mikage nods, “Exactly, you have to find it to use it.” He offers the spirit as he rests his cup on his knee. “So no one has informed people that they are using spirits, have you tried or do you just let your fellows be hurt without really knowing why?” he asks her as he rests his head in his hand. The cups slowly being drained again as he refills them calmly.

His eyes harden as he hears the man, “Do not compare yourself to me. Young Fool.” He hisses a purple aura starting to form around him before it vanished and his usual smirk on his face. “I do not need advice from anyone, even more so you.” He states coldly as he sips his sake.

Maiden hesitated at Mikage's next question. "The duelists that can see us spirits all fight to free us, they all try and convince others that we exist, but none believe them." she said. "Sol has tried with every duelist he faces, none of them believed him. He has lost the trust and allegiance of many spirits over the years because they lost their faith that they'd ever be freed." she said. "His attitude didn't help, though, his was much...milder than yours. You have the power to back it. Sol does not." she said.

Sol gritted his teeth, and his right hand moved to where he kept hi deck, but then he moved his hand away and rested it on his lap, trying to control himself. He sat quietly and muttered something to himself multiple times as if trying to calm himself down.

Maiden frowned. "You have made him feel conflicted....He is not sure whether to stay and see if you are as kind as you first appeared, or to leave because he finds you obnoxious." she said gently, not meaning to offend anyone.

Mikage nods, “Then they are fools with no ears.” He states, “Oh I would lose faith too. If I was in their place, the spirits have been trapped for a long time, being told they would be free day after day with no sign of any end? It would drive me mad.” He comments with a shrug. “That is because he is not training the right way, you don’t train to use spirits, that is…misleading in strength. You train your spirit, your soul to be able to stand alongside them.” He remarks. “You train yourself, the spirits have the experience already no need to train those that are better than you. It is like asking a butterfly to train the bird that preys on it.”

He watched him reach for that toy, unafraid he had his weapons nearby and the spirits around him would protect the one who offered them kindness. “Oh are you going to fight me boy?” he asks drolly. “You wouldn’t be the first to do so because of my tongue.”

He glances at the girl spirit again, “So he thought I was nice did he? Foolish I suppose. I am a mean man who likes to push peoples buttons. One who doesn’t much care what others think of me.” He says as he hears a spirit whose’ face was masked, it looked like a spirit from the Heian era. “Hush you…” he murmurs for a moment a faint look of sadness clouds his eyes, but it was replaced by his usual mischievous look. “You judge me before speaking to me, that is not my fault…but yours. If he finds me obnoxious then that is what he thinks, I will not try to change it.”

Maiden listened to what Mikage said, and nodded to show she was listening. "He has been training, but he... he needs guidance. Preferably from someone who is patient and willing to wait." she said. I am trying, but perhaps I am not pushing him hard enough." she said with a sigh. "But he can summon and stand along side us, if only for a short while. It's very taxing on his mind and body to do so..but..."

The female looked to Sol and cleared her throat. "Summon me." she said. "Without the duel disk." she added.

Sol blinked, hesitated, but then reached for his deck from where it was in the pocket on his belt. He clicked it open and removed the deck of fifty nine cards from the pocket. He found the card that was hers, and he took it from the deck, replacing the deck into the pocket again. He took a deep breath and his eyes flashed yellow for a second as he focused on her card.

Maiden then gained a moderate amount of power, and she was able to interact more freely with the world around her. "This is really all he can do effortlessly. Any more monsters or more powerful monsters require an enormous amount of mental strength." she explained sadly. "But please believe me when I say he is trying to learn."

Sol sat quietly, he didn't want to start a fight. He knew he couldn't win, physical, vocal, or otherwise. He just wouldn't win. He knew that much.

Mikage shakes his head, “Well then maybe he simply reached his limit already. Some people hit theirs much earlier than others.” He states as he looks at the gravestone behind him. “Ryuu may I lean on this? I am too old to be sitting like this for this long.” He states, the ghost speaks to him as he cackles. “Well of course I am still like this after all this time, and no I don’t think I will age anytime soon…why? Because I don’t want too it is too much of a hassle.” He says as he waves his hand. “So may I?” he asks again. The spirit nods, “Thank you Ryu.” He says as he rests his back on the polished cold stone.

He watched the summoning with critical eyes. “That is because he is summoning wrong, he is wasting too much energy on the act. Again I say, he may have just hit his potential some people are better at summoning than others. Others will stay at the beginner level and should know their place in the scheme of things.” He adds.

“He is not training his spirit, but trying to take on grander spirits? Then again I will say, you are a fool. That is what will lead to your death, that is what will lead to the death of those around you.” He states. “Without knowing your limits how are the spirits supposed to trust you? That you won’t harm them or others? This is why I will say it…all humans are fools and will die a fools death. Like Ryu who did not see the sword. Or Hinata that trusted the enemy he captured. And Yui who thought he could change a traitors ways. All of them died a fools death…” he states as he sips his sake looking lost in thought. "They did not know their own limits and fell victim to it."

Maiden sighed, but said nothing for a small amount of time. "He may hate me for suggesting this but....would you teach him? Could you teach him? I know he has untapped power." she said. Sol looked at her, a bit astonished, but when he tried to talk, she merely shushed him. "You'll never learn to free us from our prisons if you can't learn how to do it." she scolded.

"F-fine..." Sol muttered. Sol glanced at Mikage to show that he was still listening. He opened his mouth to say something, but closed it, seeming to not be able to find the words to speak. After a while, he stood. "I must go." he said. "It was a displeasure meeting you." he said, turning around while returning Maiden's card to his deck.

Maiden sighed as she returned to her normal spirit form. "Perhaps we can talk later. He has a lot to think about thanks to you, and he is tired; he hasn't slept in a few days. Humans can be weak." she said with a small giggle. She stood and bowed to Mikage before turning and following Sol.

Mikage snorts, “I am no teacher I am an advisor to the emperor not a tutor.” He remarks. “However if he happens to find me again and is more pleasant of company I may teach him a trick or too.” He states as the cups seem to vanish the spirits finished with their drinks. “Bring rice and dumplings to a Graveyard. It is only proper.” He states.

He watches the man get up and start to leave, “Oh you are not the first to say that, it is a displeasure to meet you as well.” He states as he as sips the last remaining part of sake.

“That is another wrong thing to do, my he really hasn’t had any training has he? You need sleep to be able to use your potential…if he has any. Oh humans are weak. Very, very weak and fragile.” He comments. He gives a curt nod to her as they leave before turning to the spirits.

“Now where were we? Ryu I think you were talking about your life before the war?” he asks as he chats with the spirits. This goes on for a bit before he gets up as the dawn breaks. “Well…it is time for me to go, I shall be back to clean your graves.” He remarks as he heads out of the graveyard. “Hmmm? Yes…take care as well I will bring incense as well no fear.” He comments looking at one spirit in particular before he walks out of the graveyard and into the city.

Mikage Abe lights the incense taking his job very seriously as he claps his hands together offering a prayer as the spirits arrive. "Well you are here again, what do you think Ryuu? Did I do a good job?" he asks with a knowing smirk as the spirit nods, "Of course I took it seriously. I take this very seriously, wouldn't want you idiots to haunt me." he mocks as he looks at the spirits his eyes resting on the one in Heian clothing before he places dumplings and rice by the graves as he sits down and pours out the sake. "I hate you..." he whispers to the Heian ghost with a sigh and a shake of his head as he sips from his cup, the incense burning in its' burner was...pleasant and smelled like freshly turned dirt with pine and mint mixed in.

A young man with brown hair was yelling in the distance, and the familiar face of Sol was arguing with the brown haired man; Maiden floating unseen by anyone else beside Sol.

"What are you even asking me to do?" the brown haired duelist asked.

"I'm asking you to release the spirits of your monsters! You're using them as slaves and they don't want to fight anymore!" Sol said.

"Yea, I'll believe that when Kaiba himself comes down, tells me that, then takes my cards away from me in person!" the brown haired duelist yelled. "I only lost our duel because of bad luck; I didn't get the cards to counter your Blue Eyes White Dragons, and that's all there is to it!" the man yelled, turning and walking past Mikage.

Sol followed a bit. "You didn't get the cards because your monsters don't want to fight! They didn't come to your hand because they didn't want to be summoned in the first place!" his voice died out quickly and he stopped, gripping his hands into fists as he stares at his feet, having failed yet again to convince someone of what he thought should be obvious.

Maiden floated over to Sol and put a hand on his shoulder. "Sol..."

"No...Maiden...It's alright. I'll just...keep trying until I find a duelist who believes me, then hopefully I'll find another, and another." he said, looking up, a tired, yet optimistic look on his face.

"That's not what I was going to tell you..." Maiden said. "I was going to tell you that Mikage is sitting right next to you." she said.

Mikage frowns at the fight the spirits around him getting ready to fight the two themselves as he holds up his arm to stop them. "If they are foolish enough to fight here they will face the consequence if they bring their troubles directly towards us and disturbs your graves, but until then they are idiots." he states as he sips his sake. "They are young fools remember? Gice them time and they will be old fools." he says as the man walks past him, knocking over his offering. Mikage acts quickly as he trips him making him slam his head on the ground before he leaves in a huh.

Mikage gets up and fixes the offering, offering up another prayer as he lights new incense stick with a sigh. "Humans have no respect for the dead these days..." he mutters as his eyes fall on the Heian dressing one as the boy from yesterday sits next to him.

"And you sat in a dumpling." he says with a smirk as he moves the offerings a bit. "So young fool why are you back here with the spirits?" he asks. "And are all your opponents idiots? Or are you just fighting the low level ones because they suit you more?" he remarks as he sips his sake.

Sol stands a bit, making sure to clean off the ground beneath him and his pants before sitting back down. "I was here to duel that man that you tripped, I won and tried to tell him about the spirits of his cards, but he wouldn't listen, as you heard." he said. "And as for his skill level, he was supposed to be a very good duelist, one who could rival me." he let out an amused huff. "Either he was just a kid with a huge amount of pride, or he was good and I'm better." he said.

"But to answer your question, yes; most of my opponents are idiots." Sol said calmly. "I apologize for interrupting your offering to the spirits here." he added quickly before sighing.

Maiden sat with some of the other spirits and idly chatted with them, but otherwise didn't do too much.

"Or you are both beginners thinking you are better than you are." Mikage states glancing at the Heian period dressed spirit spirit again with a sigh and he shakes his head. "Of course he woldn't listen too you, you are a child. Not everyone would believe a child. If someone you didn't know and you had no knowledge of spirits, said the card game you play is using spirits and you should release them, right after thy just finished using said cards against you and you won against them...would you believe them? Without ever hearing it before and no prior knowledge?" He asks.

"Oh I do not mind, it is the Spirits that mind, they do not like their home disturbed by the living...especially when you are playing children games and shouting like fools....I know I wouldn't like it." he remarks.

"Then again I don't like most things humans do." he adds drolly as he pours more sake. "Or what fools do...surprisingly I still come here though." he says with a sigh as the woman in the Heian clothing speaks to him. "No I hate coming here, I hate you and everyone in here. I am just doing this because it is my job."
