He returned her nod, yes, they were to be shirtless, but as said, it wasn't needed. Carefully the man approached, standing opposite of her as he watched her fiddle with her shirt, gently moving to pull her hand away from it before taking her palm in his own. "... we are to arrive as such." There was no need to take them off at the rally, of course.

"Are you having trouble with it, Maria?" He asked, quietly, two fingers gently moving to press one of her buttons through its corresponding hole, waiting for her blessing to continue such a thing, if she wished for it.

"I wouldn't mind." He blushed himself as he gently continued, moving bold hands to such a task as he gradually released the shirt enough that her skin showed through, and Miro found himself slightly distracted. Miroslav smiled at her, not wishing to prove unpleasant, as he soon parted the shirt, revealing that which lay underneath.

Oh my.

Miro's eyes were distracted for a moment, rather distracted, as they focused on her lingerie for a moment, the man stopping himself from licking his lips partway through the act, waiting until she paused to gently push the shirt off her arms, drawing close to her in the act. "... you-... Maria." He whispered, not able to help but look, rather enjoying the sight.

And she was still over-dressed, to think of it.

"Of course..." He mused quietly, daring to come a hint closer as his hands slid up her arms to her back, moving to play at the back of her bra. "... I love it." He remarked quietly, finding her guilty pleasure quite the treat for himself. "... that you keep such things." Miro mused quietly, looking back up to her eyes, to her blush.

"Temptress." He whispered, certainly meaning it, a hand running down her back as he did.

And gently enough he unhooked the catch on her bra, careful not to press or push, letting her take it off only if she so desired... though he certainly wouldn't-oh! Kisses? The man gasped lightly at her touch, pulling her close that he had his arms about her, whispering in her ear. "... thank you for the help, Maria." With her gentle lips.

Lips pressed themselves against her earlobe before he drew back, both to catch a glimpse of her form and, he dared, to place a gentle kiss upon her lips.

And he was happy to simply hold her, sighing as he did, hoping that he hadn't offended her by his actions, smiling to her guiltily as she pulled away, offering her his hand as she did. "Let's get to it then." He decided, happy enough to have her alone, escorting her to the rally ground, squeezing her hand as they went. "... you're beautiful, Maria." As if she didn't know such a thing.

He smiled over to her, bumping her playfully for a moment before he answered. "... with the others up on the stage, if you wish. They're party members, but not part of the regiment here." Other secretaries, clerks, party-members, who wanted to attend but didn't have an assigned unit. "If you want, of course." He certainly didn't want to upset her either.

"Oh yes, especially-" He hesitated for a moment, looking over to her with a soft glance. "... especially with you." It was going to be a wonderful rally, in his opinion. One of the best, no doubt. They even had a new member or two they looked to accept into the fold tonight, were it that they had no problem taking the oath tonight.

Some honestly didn't like the blood-letting. He didn't blame them.

She was a kind one, that was certain, Salazar squeezed her hand as they turned a corner, walking through what was once someone's yard as they approached the former park, the light glow of torches just barely managing through the gaps in the trees and shrubs. "We have initiations for two newcomers tonight." Not a true dedication, but simple pledges of their lives, were it they had the guts to do it. "What you did, Maria."

Of course, these people might do it in public. A good boost for morale.

Gently enough he showed Maria to her spot, the shirtless companies of men and women present standing quietly at attention as they waited for their leader to return to his usual spot, from where he saluted them - the salute adopted from their benefactors under the single moon of Terra. "Terra Firma!" He called, bellowing as his other hand moved to rest on the hilt of his sword, the men and women gathered responding in kind.

"Ever vigilant, colonel!"

Already could the 'colonel' see those who looked to join their ranks, easily picked out of the masses by their clothing - surrounded by a lack thereof. "... two new hearts yearn for a new Terran age, no?" Salazar inquired to those two gathered, waiting for them to either voluntarily step forward or speak.

It was voluntary membership, after all. They were no oppressors.

"Sic semper tyrannis." Spoke Salazar in return, smiling as the two men approached, other hand still on his gladius as he paced back and forth on stage. "... what these pigs in charge do not know," He brought his own fist into the air, "Is that a dog is twice as ferocious in a corner, and if we are ever compelled to leave it, we will slam the door on the galaxy with such force that the whole of it will be forced to stop, and gasp in surprise!" They would make their mark, one way or another.

As the two Union troops neared the stage those men and women assigned to such a task began to beat out a steady beat on their drums, well knowing what it meant to have Union members join their ranks. "What are your names?" Came the Colonel's question, looking down to the men before they joined him on stage.

"Why have you decided to give your lives to Terra on this day?"

"Towner," Spoke the Terran who met him, shorter, though he returned the salute all the same. Soon enough Salazar offered his hand to him to shake, smiling slightly as he did. "... I am Commandant Miroslav, and it pains me to hear of your fathers." Too many had died, even if they were of foreign birth. All the outsiders brought was oppression and death.

"And so you serve the Coalition, but would you give your life for this world, our world?" The world that promised itself to all, no matter their race or creed, if they only wished to call it their home. "And you, comrade?" He looked to Marks, hoping that he echoed his comrade's sentiment as Salazar removed the pugio from the sheath he wore on his trouser belt.

With a gentle, subtle effort the Terran displayed the scar of repeated slashes - blood-lettings - on the palm of his hand, and held the pugio's blade in the other, ready for either of them to take it. "Will you give your blood - your life - for Terra?"

It was very true, the Aschen has some sort of fetish with trying to impose their will on the planet for some time. "Then show your devotion, pledge yourself," Salazar offered the two young men the dagger, waiting for them to take it. "Spill your blood for Terra, sign your vow with it." That they would give it again, were it that Terra demanded such a thing from them.

"Terra is nothing without sons and daughters willing to kill for her." Dying was, after all, the alternative and less preferred plan. Killing was much more effective for ensuring a free and sovereign Terra. The world might be independent under the puppet TNG, but it was hardly sovereign.

With an idle hand Miroslav produced a rag to wipe the blade off with, cleaning it of the life-essence of either Scatterran, smiling to them both as they pledged themselves to their planet with action, and not words. "Blood and skulls!" Bellowed the lawyer into the crowd, which was met with wide praise, all finding the idea rather delightful.

An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.

"Terra will know no master but herself, and her lord proving of no blood but her own." Their duke would sit on his rightful throne soon enough, he certanily know, and their colonies would soon know the Terran banner once again. "Soon comes the dawn, and with it the stars!"

"Ad astra per bellum!"

"Ad astra per bellum!"

"Ad astra per bellum!"

"Even if the Aschen are gone, our struggle is not yet over," The Commandant spoke, glancing to either, letting his gaze rest on Marks for a moment as he held his hand close to him. "Our fight is with anyone who dares place their boot on our soil, dares influence our land." No doubt they would keep any references of the Hegemony from the ears of the masses, but to everyone they were simply foreign allies, and not the interventionist scum that put them in such a situation.

"Death to reactionaries! To defeatists, traitors, collaborators!" The crowd agreed with Miroslav and his sentiments. "Death to the TNG, and their slave council!"

The words from the other room caught Miro's ear over the sound of his cooking, glancing up from his task and moving, after setting aside his wares, to move to the den. The man still wore his apron, the white cloth lightly stained with a fleck or two of grease, keeping such things from his khaki slacks underneath. Of course he caught sight of Maria in the door, and from looks alone she certainly didn't seem pleased. Carefully the Serb moved to flank her, a hand on her shoulder as he opened the door further.

"... pardon me, Mr. Kaye? Might I help you?" It certainly seemed like he was here for something, perhaps he could help him with it and the other be on his way.

Miroslav nodded at this, he certainly was on retainer, and such was how he knew Randin's name, outside of Maria's stories. It was hard enough not to go for a day or two without hearing some unpleasant mention of his name, and it was easy enough to understand she didn't hold any pleasant association with the name without further extrapolation. The man squeezed her shoulder gently and looked back to Kaye, blinking as he did once. "Well. She's breathing, I can attest to that."

Of course, he wouldn't say how.

"It's no trouble, Mr. Kaye, if Maria thinks it's none." It was, of course, up to her. He was neutral in this affair, as he was with many. "I hope you've a good evening, Mr. Kaye."

"Miroslav Salazar, Mr. Kaye" Miro answered, nodding in response, smiling as he did. He had no problem giving the other his name, it was a simple and well known fact, if anything the man was surprised that Kaye didn't know him already. "I'll be back at the station on Monday, if you're looking for me." He was, of course, staying here for the weekend. It was nicer to spend an evening with someone, no matter the place, than at his own cold home. The place was always that.

Of course, here was anything but, even when Halo was here. If anything, Halo made the place feel more alive - a third voice to drown out the silence - and push back the quiet that always lurked. Salazar's hand moved from Maria's shoulder to slide about her waist, the man smiling as Kaye stepped away. The other had some intention of running his name, he was used to this game by now. One didn't get far in the party before falling afoul of law enforcement, and Miroslav especially so, being within the system.
