Leon looked upon Lexi with a very tired, very despairing expression, his fingers running through his hair as he sighed heavily. "I'm afraid...this one is my fault, Lexi. Not yours," he began, walking up to her. "Try not to stare at her. It wont help anything. It's certainly not helping me."

Calmly and patiently, he sat down at a table, drawing the chair out. The chair could be seen moving, but Leon could not be seen at all. "Some on. Sit down. There's nothing we can do right now."

----

Mo placed her cheek in her hand. "Ohh, what's wrong with you all? So worried about some girl you don't even know? When was Wing City filled with heroes? When did anyone in Gambit's ever care? My, my. Have things changed since I last came? Funny." she said, grinning wide.

As John came in, her eyes followed him. There was nothing but mischief about Mo, and she loved it.

"Not exactly heroes? Th' way you all rushed over like she'd died says otherwise. Though...you could kind of say she's died, couldn't you? She's just a ghost now, she is! Just a spirit with nowhere to go! I wonder if her spirit will dissolve...how weak it might be. That would be an interesting show."

---

Leon gestured to Mohatmas as she spoke. "She goes through the trouble because...it entertains her," he said at last. His shoulders shrugged. "That's all she cares about. A show. She likes being amused. For the duration of her life, that's always been her reason for...for anything."

He narrowed his eyes. "You've given her a lot of entertainment, it seems. Can't you see that is what she's doing now? Trying to create a scene. Trying to be entertained."

His eyes popped open. Realization swept over him.

"Perhaps...that could help us."

"I'm not sure. There's probably another way. Perhaps..." His eyes were, at first, pained, then quickly filled with anger. His whole existence, created to be attached to Lexi, and created, as Mo's puppet, to torture her, as well.

"Maybe if you...stop caring. Don't give a response. Ever. Even if...when I was hung. You screamed. You should have done nothing."

---

Lexi's body sat at the stool, disappointed that the pirates had left.

Leon shook his head. "Don't-" he began, but clopped his mouth shut. "Lexi" was looking straight at them from her place on the seat. Lexi, possessed by Mohatmas. Leon looked to the real one, or rather, the spirit. He did not try to touch her, or hold her hand, or anything at all. He was being rather cold.
There was a good reason.

----

"Ohhh, you lot think you're smart. Why is it you care for this body so much, eh? If you were made as a weapon, then why save people? It makes no sense at all, it doesn't," said Mohatmas, fully enjoying the senses explored using Lexi's physical body.

"Really, now."

"Very well. Defy your purpose. Your reason may come to pass eventually, whether you like it or not. Or...maybe there is another path for you, indeed. Who knows?" she laughed, getting up from her seat, then moving toward the door.

"Tah."

Leon turned his head to the side, somewhat confused. He shrugged his shoulders, however, and moved toward her, silent as can be. Even his footsteps made no sound. Of course they did not. He was, after all, a spirit.

Her voice was lovely, and he did what it wanted him to do.

He was almost completely surprised as Lexi did this. Up till now, she had never been so forward. He bet it was because of some kind of shock, perhaps. Shock from losing her physical body. He held her tightly. "Hey, it's fine. We'll get your body back soon. I promise. For now, lets not talk of it. Just because she's busy doesn't mean she can get bored and leave at any time. Then she'll find us."

"And how do you know this? You never told me before. We...we didn't have much time, sure, but..." he trailed off, biting his lip as his eyes coursed over the tattoo's. "Who is the one that controls your fate? At least knowing wouldn't hurt."

He listened to her, and as he did, his eyes darkened. "That's not fair," he said, shaking his head. "It shouldn't happen to you too. I wonder if Mo knew. If she did, then...then she's just being that much more horrible."

He did not understand why things had to be so very horrible.

It almost smiled to Rick, but not quite. The edges of its lips seemed to widen, but it was hard to tell. It just fell onto its side and lay there, the ugliest cat in the world, just staring.

"Mur."

It gave off a light coughing sound, which almost sounded like a "No." instead sounding like a "Nrrroow."

The brown beast walked calmly towards Rick, then sat right at the edge of the counter, eyes looking right at him. It was purring. "You know my bird very well, Rick. Rick Mave, was it? Maverick?" He licked his chops, digging claws into the wood.

"I met a man who is in search of his brother. I am trying to help him. I think you may be interested."

"Poor guy. Hmhm. I wouldn't call him poor. I think you might like him, Rick. Ladies man. Just like you." The cat proceeded to hop into Rick's lap. "I will reward you handsomely if you help. Does that sound nicer?"

His claws would sink into Rick's lap as he began to knead the tops of his legs. "Kidnapped? I don't think he was. I'll have to ask him again."

"I will give you information tomorrow. Meet me at the plaza at noon, right near that new club that opened. I'll find you. Don't worry about getting lost."

With that, the cat leaped from Rick's lap onto the floor. "I hope you aren't too busy. It would put a dent into my plans."

He then padded toward the door.

Something you did see in Gambit's? All the time? A cat. Usually either a rather cute kitten or a pretty cat. This time, yes, it was a cat, but it was the ugliest brown tom anyone would have ever laid eyes on. It sat on a table behind the two people currently inhabiting the bar. The cat, who was fat, with an ear and a half with ticks covering the back of its neck, was licking its foot. It bared its teeth for a short moment to bite out a mat in the center of its splayed paw. It flicked its tail, closing one eye and keeping the other on the people.

"You haven't? Heresy," said Mo, scratching a bald spot right behind his ear. The cat yawned. "Of course you were naive. You had one thing on your mind and now you're singing the blues...but ah," said Mo, his tone, once again, mocking, "What is it you wanted again?" asked the spirit.

Yanni's hand went from waving to clasping over her mouth. Oh, well, this was not anticipated. "Did I? Ah...just admiring from afar, really. I-" She pursed her lips, "-don't really know what I'm doing." She stopped herself.

"...hi."

The cat lifted his paw, turning his back to John so that he may look about the bar. There was a soldier. Actually, there were a few soldiers, some kind of demon woman, and a supersoldier of some sort. Interesting.

"You see the people in here, John? Some of them may have saved worlds, and other may have destroyed them. I wouldn't know, but the might just sit on their arse all day eating potato chips and drinking beer. But you don't have to save the world or an entire race of people to be a hero. In the eyes of that girl you rescued, you may very well be a hero. Why else would she sleep with you for free?" The cat chuckled, his deep, resonating voice bringing itself about the bar.

"I see you as human, and a somewhat lost one, at that. You haven't saved me from any horrid fate, so of course you're not my hero. Does that matter?"

The cat had to smile.

"Of course you may ask, but you probably won't get an answer," said Mo, settling down to lay on his side, tail flickering from side to side. The laziness of a cat astonished him. It felt good...though, all those fleas were a bother.

"Oh, look. Yet another person come in. What do you think of him, John? Nothing special, but he could be. Who knows?" The cat shrugged.

"And my interest lies in the eyes of someone else who has caught your eye. Makes sense?"

"I don't really care if you get attached or not. Either way, writing about you is going to be a hoot. Oh...what did I say? I meant watching you. Whoops. I mean...helping you." The cat circled around himself, then scratched, once more, behind his ear.

"I'm going to have to wash this body soon. It's too itchy." The cat turned to eye John, giving him the classic "Puss in Boots" largeye plead.

"I'd treat you well if you helped."

Mo was absolutely pleased. "Oh...and if you could hold that for a moment...yes...I'll be right back. There is someone I need to get. I won't be three moments. Well, I probably will, but that's not long." He shrugged. "Anyway."

The cat, very suddenly, slumped down onto the counter, seemingly asleep. It would not take five seconds. Not so much

The cat came woke up, wrinkling his nose. "Well, that was very disappointing," said Mo, leaning his cheek into his paw. A difficult position to pull off with this kind of anatomy, sure. "He's passed out drunk in his living room. But no matter, I've brought someone else. She should be here in..."

A woman pushed open the door, rubbing sleep from her eyes. White hair fell down her brown shoulders, and the pointed tips of her ears poked up between strands of hair. She walked toward the cat.

"What."
