A fiery red-head sauntered into the bar, tilting her broad brimmed hat back to get a good look at the place. “So this is Gambit's huh?” she said with a quirk of her brow, free hand rested on her hip.

She was a sight to see for sure, as not many woman took up piracy, but she certainly fit the profile. Strolling over to the gathering group of lowlifes, M'reth stopped next to their table. Propping a foot up on the edge of a chair she leaned in. “Hello boys.”

“You wouldn't mind if a lonesome girl joins you nice upstanding gentlemen for a drink, now would you?” She cast Tau a wink as she spoke.

“I couldn't help but catch sight of your ship making port, and well, I thought to myself, why not go pay a hospitable visit and see what brings you lot to these parts.”

The scents and sounds of Gambit's were beginning to assault her nostrils. She couldn't quite weight her opinion of the place yet, but the company seemed pleasant enough. Really she wasn't sure why she hadn't scouted this place out sooner, what with having been in the area six months now.

M'reth leaned in closer towards Inigo, “Is that so?” she asked innocently, one hand sliding her hat off her head to let her short cropped, red locks of hair fall loose. Then without warning, she shoved the hat down over his head, pulling the brim down over his eyes. “Not on your life.”

And just like that, the flirtatious behavior was gone. Spinning the chair about that she had her leg propped up on, M'reth made herself comfortable right where she was. She straddled the chair and folded her arms atop the back of it, with her chin propped up on them.

“So what brings you boys to these parts?” she asked. Better to break it to them hard that they didn't have a chance on Terra or sky above to score here. Otherwise she would be dealing with the lecherous louts the rest of the night.

“Hah. That's what you think,” M'reth said pointing a finger at Inigo's chest. “I ship out with The Ever Rest. Only ship in these parts to make the Orak Ma'az run, six times. Now that's a run that'll make a man's balls drop right off.”

“Supplies huh? Forgive me then, I mistook you lot for the adventurous sort. If you're shipping out supply runs, I'll look for some real men somewhere else,” she said with a wink.

As Tau began to shift his leg towards her chair, M'reth swiftly flipped a knife out and sent it spinning beneath the table, to embed into the wood of the chair, just between Tau's legs. The movement was so subtle and swift that those above the table probably wouldn't realize just what had happened, though Tau would find the object resting uncomfortably close to a certain appendage.

“Now, let's all play nice and I won't have to walk out of here with anyone's balls in a jar,” M'reth said. Though truth be told, she was banking heavily on intimidation factor here, given that she was suitably outnumbered if they got the mind to get too riled up.

Whatever she was going to say next fizzled out with her mouth half open. She tilted her head almost curiously at Indigo's drink. “Is it supposed to be doing that?” she inquired.

M'reth retrieved her throwing knife from where Tau had slammed it down, but her eyes were on the glass that had suitably captured the attention of everyone around the table.

“What on Terra and sky above is that?” she asked before prodding it over onto its side with her knife, spilling it once again.

Little did the shapeshifter know, but he had probably just averted an outright brawl, at least for the time being.

M'reth blew Tau a kiss as the man made his threat. Sliding her throwing knife back into her wrist sheath, she cast the strange liquid one last look before she too departed from Gambit's bar. R'muel would be wondering where she had gotten herself off to no doubt, and they were scheduled to set sail within the hour.

M'reth paused in the doorway, notably hat-less from her earlier visit as she took in the rowdy scene. “Well this place sure picked up. Howdy boys,” she waved to the departing group of ruffians that she had riled up earlier.

That is before talk of Kate caught her ear. “You're forgetting the best part of the story there friend. Way I hear it, Kate Darkrayne managed to blind side another ship and took it right out of the sky with her,” M'reth called over the ruckus.

M'reth laughed loudly at Kate's objections. “Way I hear it, this woman is the worst pirate this side of Terra.” She cast Kate a wink. “But enough of that.”

Moving to fill a tankard of ale, M'reth got up onto of one of the tables and raised it high. “I'm here to announce that The Ever Rest has returned from it's sixth consecutive Orak Ma'az run.” She paused and added for emphasis, “That's two more than any other ship can boast, I might add.”

Clearing her throat she continued, “And we're gearing out for our next run. For those bold enough take to the skies with us.”

“One helluva crew? Only the best crew blood and sweat can come by.” But then again, most everyone knew The Ever Rest was a family owned ship, as was the ship yard business she was stationed at.

“Speaking of crews. Do you even have a crew?” she asked Kate.

“Tell you what, you want to settle this? We'll settle it in the skies, but not in combat. Sail out with us, for Orak Ma'az. We'll see who has got the better ship. But I should warn you, R'muel is the best Captain you'll find in these parts.” Bragging was fairly second nature to mercenaries and pirates it would seem.

“And you, you should come with us,” she said with a finger pointed at Kvan. “That's your first tip. Betters odds at least some of the ships will make it back if you don't go it solo. Just last run we set out with six other crews, only two of them made it back. It's getting hard to find people with the stones to take that run.”

“Then it's settled!” M'reth called loudly as she took a quaff of her ale and hopped down off the table to make her way over to Kvan to continue discussing the matter. “Well, there was Rudden's crew, about twelve strong. Manuel and Blyne got taken out by some bad weather, they each had about half that. Walker went down just off the coast, with twenty-three men. Shame that, he was a good Captain, good man also. Sanders was probably the smallest crew, with only five men. The Ever Rest of course has twelve, including myself.”

The names were all well known Captain's in these parts. Some were reputable merchants, others less reputable pirates, but all skilled at what they do.

“Is that so eh? Shame then to tell you, he's the only one of the lot that made it back.” She couldn't help but laugh at that. “He lost about half his crew though, he won't be setting out with us this run.”

“And yeah, two years sounds about right. A lot of ships still set out with a wizard on board though, can't be too safe. But magic or not, they're cunning. They know to take your mast out, or your power crystals.”

“The name has been kicked around the port a few times,” M'reth replied with a wink. “And you would be surprised how nimble those old ships are. Not at all the overbearing monsters you see churned out these days. If you want power, or a military vessel, sure. But when it comes to speed and maneuverability, you'll be hard pressed to match The Ever Rest. Shame most of your Captain's don't know how to fly a ship like her these days.”

Norma's warning brought a grin to M'reth, “I'll keep that in mind.”

“Well, I should be off. If you're ever in the market for a new ship come find me. And if you get the mind to join us, we'll be setting sail next month, soon as the worst of the hurricane season is past. You don't want to set out much earlier than that, more than a few ships have gone down out there, smashed against the dragon ridge.”

She cast Norma a wink as she waved and headed out.

In stark contrast to the corner dwelling shadow lurkers and gloomy crowd, there was M'reth. Vibrant and lively and with a fiery demeanor to match, the roguish woman strolled into the bar cheerfully whistling a catchy little tune. Both hands were shoved into her pockets as she entered. “Evenin' Gambit's,” she remarked openly to gathered patrons.

Rather than taking a seat, the woman hopped up onto a table and cleared her throat. “Excuse me, I have an announcement to make!”

“Tau Levent is a fink. That is all.” And with that, she hopped back down.

“Outgoing? That's not usually the first word men think up, but it'll do. You planning to buy me a drink, or just going to gawk all night,” M'reth asked with an arch of her brow. “'Cause I haven't got all night to turn you down you know. Well actually I do, but I would rather just jump to the chase if it's all the same to you,” she added with a wink.

“Just a moment.” Standing back up M'reth took her hat off and waved it towards the door as Tau departed as quickly as he had arrived. “I rest my case,” she declared with a coy grin.

Replacing her hat on her head she hopped back down she brushed the coins back towards Lorenzo. “No thanks.”

“Speaking of finks,” M'reth said to herself before raising her voice a bit louder for Kate to hear. “So, here's a question. Is a Captain, a Captain without a ship? Just wondering for formalities sake.”

“Easy there tiger,” M'reth said to Shepherd as the man dove past her and behind the bar. “I think it's safe to wager that she's far too intoxicated to hit anything that she's aiming for. Though, I don't much envy the person standing next to her target. So I might suggest you slide down a bit,” M'reth remarked with a wink.

“So where is your ship anyways?” M'reth inquired as she glanced back towards Kate.
