Personality
Nadya is a generally kind and hopeful girl. She's only been in the group home for two years now, so hasn't been overly affected. She is very optimistic, and rarely lets life get her down, despite the loss of her family.

Random Things to Know
Nadya has lived at St. Mark’s since she was 11 and has fond memories of her parents. She rides her bike on a newspaper delivery route to earn an allowance. Periodically, she has memories and abilities that she can’t explain.
Nadya has two prosthetics, though she is completely unaware of them. Her left arm from shoulder down, and her left leg from mid thigh down are highly advanced erutin prosthetics that grow with her. Further, she is unaware of the implant in her mind that allows her to connect with a ship in shielded orbit around Terra.

Heroes
Anodyne, the Ripper: "She's so cool! She's super strong, and has this awesome gun, and she never misses! She's mostly a sniper, but she can be all ker-pow! Bam! if you're a bad guy. I have all her comic books."

Kazen Horne:"Omigosh, omigosh, omigosh, Kazen is super hot, and super amazing, and he once beat up the Aschen Emperor, and that's basically the best thing ever to ever happen. And he's got these two huge swords, and he's so!!!! Ahh!"

Equipment, Skills, and Weaknesses:
Equipment
Bicycle
Shoulder bag

Skills
Pickpocketing - Nadya is a very good pickpocket, though it’s something she doesn’t enjoy doing.
Bike Ramming - In lieu of a weapons, Nadya will either bike away, or she will ram her bike into her enemies and then run.
Totes Adorbs - Nadya is well aware that she is small and cute, and uses this to her advantage, turning big eyes and cute poses on people to get her away. It isn’t always effective.

Weaknesses:
Nadya apparently has no natural defenses. Seemingly she is perfectly human in nature, and is an average denizen of Wing City.

Personal History

Nadya was born on Terra to two middle class parents. Her mother was a ballerina, but her father was a doctor at Wing City hospital. When the Terran Wars happened, her parents were caught up in the war. Nadya's parents died in a bombing by Aschen forces when she was eight. Nadya survived the bombing but found herself stuck in the rubble with her parents cooling bodies until rescuers arrived. She was sent to a refugee came where she ran wild with no guardian and little provisions for an orphan child. When the fighting was over, Nadya would be sent to a group home near where she grew up in Wing City.

Young, Nadya mourns her family in her own way, though her sorrow is often hidden behind a smile and an easy laugh. Despite living in a group home, Nadya tried to make the best of her life, and managed to earn enough through odd jobs around the group home's neighborhood to buy a bike. With her bike, the orphan explores Wing City, and works as a newspaper delivery girl.

Recently, while evading some jerks who wanted to steal her paycheck, Nadya found herself on a bit of an adventure. Without meaning too, she ending up off planet, and visiting Zumilion via cargo hold, where she met her new good friend Whisper from there, she and her new friend stowed away on another cargo ship and ended up in Misrana. With the help of Rei Harkov, she managed to get back to Wing City.

Once back, she found herself with a new case worker, who put her straight into a foster home with Laura Seychelle.

Hope looked down at the last scrapbook of her time on this planet, and then sighed. It has been some time since she had joined this world, these people. This Snow had gotten her absolution, and this Wing her empire. She had adopted children, and even given birth. And now…it was time to move on. She put away the last scrapbook and locked the door to the closet as she stepped out of it. Dressed again in her fatigues and a tank top, the woman hesitated, and removed her goggles, before hanging them from the doorknob. “That’s the last of that life. “ She whispered and looked away, closing her eyes. It was always hard, deliberately leaving a life behind, but it was, Hope knew, for the best. They’d begin to notice soon, notice that she wasn’t like other Travelers or other Erutin.

The Erutin smiled as she recalled the memories. Walther. Norrington. Kendra. Felix. They had all been such wonderful lovers. Rachel. Henry. Bo. Augustus. The twins. They had been such good kids. She had tried to help raise them well, though had known for centuries now that when it came to motherhood, she wasn’t the best. Still, she’d keep an eye out for them, and their children. It was only right.

The woman shook her head and then sighed. “It’s past time.” She reminded herself. “Far past time. You had sworn, you fool. After Pukak, you had sworn no more children.” Children. They complicated things. Even after she stopped keeping a personal eye out, she’d have to keep her devices looking, keeping an eye out in case one was ever born like her.

The woman checked herself over, and then nodded. It was time. A new realm, new worlds awaited. Was this what Max- no, what Vexar felt like? Did he choose to do this, or was he given no choice. She hadn’t been given one when the time came to move on from Pukak. Uncertain, Hope moved to the closest farther back in the deep hallway. Each door she passed represented a life she led, a world, a realm she had influenced. And now? Now it was back to the beginning. Hope quietly opened the very first door, and stripped of the fatigues and the tank top, folding them gently and putting them together, boots on top, on one of the shelves. She dressed in a flowing pale pink dress in its place, and slipped two golden anklets on her left ankle.

It had been some time since she dressed so. What age was the question? Hope closed her eyes and sighed, shrinking in size, until once more she was on the cusp of puberty. This was something she was certain Vex couldn’t do, to reset his age like this. Hope had always been way more fun than that fuddy duddy anyway. She smiled brightly to herself, clothes suiting this new form. “Right. Memory things locked up, dressed in a pretty new dress. I’m almost ready to go again. Uncertain, she eyed herself in the long mirror hanging on the back of the closet door. “Oh! Hair and eyes! I gotta change how I look.”

With her eyes closed, she concentrated. Chin length dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. That sounded good. A button nose, and full lips. That would do it. Now all she lacked was a new name. The woman considered things carefully. Names were precious things. “Nadya. Nadya….Alexeev? That sounds great.” She said and smiled, weaving a personal history for herself, carefully, oh so carefully.

“There. Only one thing left.” She whispered, and then looked to the markings on her left hand. On an Erutin of this place, it would have been nanites that made those marks. For her, it had been a tattoo. This dimensions Hope was alive and downtrodden somewhere, no doubt, if she had ever existed at all. Nadya knew of very few ways to get rid of a tattoo. This, she reflected, was going to hurt. A laser could remove the tattoo, of course, but it would still leave discolored skins.

Acid…acid would provide a cover story, she decided, and in time, she well knew, heal just fine, even the scar fading away to healthy skin. Until then, well. Gloves worked.

“Ship. Please purge all tracking devices, and prepare to remove the tattoo in the med lounge. I’ll also need…I’ll need an acid, ship, strong enough to burn my skin.” Though she’d only have to hold her hand down. The young girl strode to the med lounge. This would hurt, so very much. But sometime, extreme measures had to be taken.

After she had recovered, she’d have to hide the ship away once more, on some asteroid drifting through lightyears of uninhabited space. That was for the best, after all, that the ship never be discovered, this ship, with its impossible hall full of memories of lifetimes well lived. “Alright. Time to get back in the game, and change some destinies, hopefully for the better. You got this Nadya.” Just like she had this every other time. First step, erase the last signs that she had ever been Hope Anona, hero of the empire. Now, she was just Nadya Alexeev, orphaned human.

Nadya pedaled down the street, her bike decked out with panniers and a basket. All of which were empty after a hard day's work delivering the paper. Lady Une Drive had a nice short cut to get to the group home. It was the afternoon, and Nadya had just finished delivery papers to a shadier part of Wing City, where most paper delivery girls wouldn't have dared to go. This, of course, included Gambit's Bar.

The young teen was pleased with herself, singing a made up song as she 'danced' her bike down the sidewalk, swaying it back and forth.

"It's a good day! A very good day! The best sort of day for meee. I worked hard; I'm gonna get paid; and I'll have pocket money!" Oh yes, she was very happy. Nadya worked hard for that money. She was all too happy to get paid for her work. She wasn't paying too much attention to where she was going however, and as a result, came within a hair's distance of Claire McGregor. Seconds after realizing it, she put on the brakes hard enough to make her bike wheels squeal, and dropped the bike, stepping over it. "Hey, are you okay? I didn't scare you or hurt you did I?"

"Good day for you maybe.." Claire muttered slightly dazed from where she'd been unceremoniously forced off the sidewalk into nearby hedges. She had been out running in attempts to relieve at least some of the stress from everyday life, only to get run over by some half crazed pre-teen on a bicycle. "I'm fine, I think." She added picking bits and pieces of vegetation out of her hair and clothing.

Was this what she got for temporarily renting in this particular district? A sudden crash with a bicycle and forced off into the hedges? The scrapes would heal, but she wasn't so sure about her dignity.

Nadya hurried over to help the other remove any vegetation. "I'm so sorry." She was too. She hadn't meant to do that, and no doubt the other woman had been frightened by Nadya coming out of no where like that. She bit her bottom lip and brushed the woman off. "Please don't tell the house mom. I'll get in so much trouble." She'd get told off, and maybe made to quit her job.

The lady didn't look badly hurt. "...I can walk you home, if you need me too." She didn't look badly hurt, just scraped up.

"Whoa, slow down." Claire said as she pulled herself to her feet, briefly inspecting the scrapes and bruises. "Look, I have no idea what you're talking about, or who this house mother is." She added as she picked up the earbuds and music player that had crashed to the ground with her.

"Don't bother walking me home, just watch where the hell you're going."

Nadya blushed. "I will. I'm sorry ma'am. I'm Nadya. And...the group home is where I live." she shrugged and smiled wryly. "It's about four blocks that way, but going through Lady Une cuts the time down a lot." She gestured with her hand lazily, in the direction she had been going. About four blocks, but a host of twists and turns. "St. Mark's Eastside Group home. It's a fancy way to say orphanage, but with more adults per kid." That was the truth. There were limits on the number of kids who could stay in a group home. "Are you sure you're okay?"

The scrapes and bruises would disappear soon enough, but for now they were a bit sore and sticky from the blood that oozed out. Sighing she looked down at Nadya, and made a face, "Okay, so you live in an orphanage and cut through to go home... how is this important?" Claire asked before pocking her things.

"I'm fine, or at least I will be soon enough." Nothing was broken, only bruised.

"I was just trying to explain why I was coming this way." She grumbled to herself, then smiled. "Anyway, I'm glad you're not hurt. I better get going before I'm back late." She didn't want to get in trouble. Nadya hurried back over to her bike and picked it up, then got on it, turning to wave to Claire. "Bye!"

The ten took off, soon humming and swaying on the bike once more. That lady was nice enough. A little rude, but nice enough, she supposed. Nadya picked up her song from where she left off.

"It's a good day! A very good day! The best sort of day for meee. I worked hard; I'm gonna get paid; and I'll have pocket money! I just gotta be careful, and not hit anybody!"

Nadya carried to small stack of papers into the bar lips spread wide with glee. She placed them on the bar and then grinned at the bartender. "That's the last of them for the day. Man! I can't believe I get to give a bar newspapers. The house mom would flip if she knew." But she didn't.

So long as Nadya's grades didn't slip, she never would either. She was a nice lady and all, but Nadya wanted the pocket money she got form paper delivery bad enough that she was willing to seek out extra routes. Gambit's was a bit of an extension of her old route, but she could just manage it.

Isaac walked into the bar through the front door that led him from Wing City. He had his duster on which covered the two revolvers he carried on him. He moseyed on into the room heading towards the bar counter. He saw the seemingly drunk man that was Rafael Fisher there rather quiet a glass of whiskey in front of him and his overcoat off to the side. Isaac took a seat a few stools away and right near Nadya the woman with the papers.

"I'll take a double of Knob Creek." He said to the barkeep before uttering some more words directed towards Nadya.

"I take it this place doesn't scare you or just the fact that this place has been quiet for a week, Miss." The man didn't bother looking at her as he took off hi hat and coat setting it on the counter next to him. It revealed his two revolved his off white shirt with brown vest over it. The Marshal star badge still hung off the western belt.

Rafael looked over at the man who ordered whiskey his bloodshot eyes staring at the man. He hadn't left since last night and truthfully he was still drunk as well. He kept to himself though as he eyed the newcomers.

"Eh, I don't see what I'd be scared of mister. I just deliver the paper. No one hurts the delivery girl." she said, all too cheerfully to Isaac. Rafael she didn't even notice, not really. "This place is weird, I guess, but I'm a Wing City native! There's a lot weirder places."

The edgy armored...thing...looked up from his chess problem long enough to notice that the paper had been delivered. "Greetings," it said in a camp Russian accent. "I say, do you happen to play chess? Learning strategy, tactics and bravery. Very important for young humans. Come, play with me." He seemed zeroed in on Nadya, but really it was more of an open invitation.

"That may be so but most of the stuff that happens here tends to reject reality entirely. Hell I rarely stop by here anymore mostly due to the fear I'm going to have stand off with some god." Isaac thanked the bartender as he set his drink down in front of him.

"Never played chess a day in my life and I'm still alive. I know a thing or two those three topics you just spoke of." Isaac replied to the Russian accented thing.

"I bet you do old man. You look like you're straight out of a Frontier reenactment scene." Rafael was now looking over at the man his eyes bloodshot still and his drink now gone. It was obvious the fellow had enough to drink. But Isaac ignored the man for now as he took the first sip of his whiskey.

"I don't know how to play chess!" she said. "But I know those are pawns, and that's the queen and that's the king." She had the king and queen mixed up. "But I'm plenty brave, so I don't need to learn bravery." She beamed and looked to him, clearly pleased. "I'm the only paper girl brave enough to put Gambit's on her route, after all." And they got a bunch of papers, now that she did.

Still, things at Gambit's did tend to reject reality just a bit. she considered this and shrugged. "Nah. I'm not too worried. Like I said, I'm a native here. It's normal, for me, to have the rejected reality thing." Things didn't always work right in Wing City. There was a reason Nadya was an orphan after all. That didn't matter though. It was home.

"I see you are on a schedule. Go, little pawn. I sense untapped potential in you," Karpov nodded to Nadya. Then over to the rough and tumble sorts. "Chess is not merely a game for the young. Indeed, many great masters of the game have played well into their sixties and seventies at a very high level. I myself was named after one, so great as to be considered a world champion."

He made a formal bow to the other gentlemen. "I am called Anatoly Karpov. These are my eight students, each of them also named after a fine player. Perhaps I can at least teach you the rules, so that you may spread the Game of Kings to others in your circle? Many a friendly wager to be had over these 64 squares, if nothing else."

"The only thing I spread is death." Isaac and Rafael said in rather perfect unison. The two men looked at each other for a few moments. It would seem they were two of the same just worlds apart.

"Well I would hate to have to show this city slicker up in a game of chess." Isaac scoffed at Rafael who was still standing.

"I would hate to show this relic how horrible he would be at chess." Rafaels retorted.

Nadya grinned. "You'd all kick my butt in chess." she said, still in good cheer. She considered thing, and her schedule. "I don't have to go yet. Gambit's is the last stop in my route." She said and considered things carefully. She did have a curfew, but she checked the watch on her wrist and she had lots of time still.

"Um. I can watch you two play. But I got to be back at the house in...two hours. And no one can tell the house mother I was here. She gets grumpy if I hang around here." Very grumpy, and annoyed and she threatened to ground Nadya, but frankly that wasn't about to happen. There were too many other kids in that house. The wars on Terra had caused a lot of orphans.

"All right," Karpov said with a nod. "Pawn, sit there. You two, I will teach you this war simulator. I sense a strong rivalry between the two of you. This should be, how you say, fun to watch?" Moving with speed rivaling the best con artists in the shell game, Karpov set up the starting position.

"How you place the board is important. White on this lower right corner here," he said with a tap where the rook was sitting. "Queens on their color. Finally, queens and kings face each other. This is the starting position. You are at least familiar with how the men move and capture without having played a game yourself, da?"

"Well I tend to just kill most of them off. Makes it easier later on." Isaac said as he removed a pack of smokes from the pocket on his vest he lit one with a wood match.

"I tend to try to keep the bloodshed minimal at best. It's better to not have a trail leading to me." Rafael's voice entered after Issac's.

Isaac only snorted in reply as he took a long drag on the cigarette.

"If you need an escort home Miss I'm sure either myself or this morally right warrior beside me can take you back. As long as I don't beat him to bad at his board game." Isaac chuckled a bit at that his voice holding the western twang.
