Nare Titor

A human male Zombie out on an important task.

0 · 822 views · located in Wing City

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by EmeraldStag

Groups

An up and coming family that seeks to spread its influence. As individuals they have their own goals and desires for the family and Wing City, but as a group, power is the name of the game.

Description

His physical description: Tall, living dead, white/grey hair, green eyes, pale skin.

History: He was betrayed by his friend who had killed him in the heat of a fight. Nare couldn't really remember much of what his life was like before he died, all he knew were a few things. His name was Nare Titor. Sanina Lessard had given him life, humanity, and the ability to rapidly heal. If his body were cut into individual pieces by the joints, he can still live, and even reattach all of his pieces. If he is set on fire, he can die. If his brain is destroyed, he will die. He was betrayed, but he cannot remember who.

Those were the only things, the only truths, he could remember. He also tends to be smoking wherever he feels like, since he no longer has to worry about damaging his body.

After having a conversation with the ghostlike apparition of Sanina Lessard, the person who brought him back to life, he had a goal in his now vacant mind. Go to Wing City and find the people she showed him. It was all he had, and he was going to fulfill Sanina's wishes. Vengeance.

Whilst in Penance Tavern, he has found a device implanted in his skull that projects a useful Hologram computer that has access to a large sum of funds. He has yet to really discover what is in the device, as well as what the damaged areas of it are.

So begins...

Nare's eyes flash open as he breaks the surface of the bog. He huffs and coughs...but then remembers that he didn't need to. He looks around him, trying to figure out where the hell he was. He only remembers his truths....and nothing else.

"Dammit...just where the hell am I?" He looked around himself, and waded his way to shore on an patch of land. He takes off his shirt, and sets it in a patch of sunlight to let it dry. He sits down, cross legged and goes over his personal Truths. He was Nare Titor. A Nameless Necromancer had given him 3 gifts. His life, his humanity, and the ability to rapidly regenerate. If his body were cut to bits, he could reattach them. If he is set on fire, he might die. If his brain is destroyed, he will die. His final truth, was that he was betrayed, but he cannot remember who it was.

Nare took these simple truths to heart, as they were all he could grasp. His mind seemed wiped from when he was revived. Around him, the swamp stretched on forever. The trees were dense, the water thick and putrid as the inside of a septic tank.Weird insects flew around him, trying to eat his dead flesh, but they couldn't feast on him. He could hear the water sloshing around, as fish and other animals swam around in the murk. Wherever he was, he knew he wouldn't die. Nare only knew one thing: if he kept moving, he'd eventually find people. Whether that was to be saved from the wilderness.....or for him to feed.

'Sleep my child and peace attend thee, all through the night Guardian angels God will send thee. All through the night, soft the drowsy hours are creeping.'

The light melody had no discernible source as it reached Nare through the endless maze of trees and sludge. Though it held a pleasant note to it, there was an eerie chill laced beneath the gentle lullaby that would leave goosebumps in its wake - that is if one were alive. Nare would find the melody almost hypnotic in nature is it called to him like a siren's song.

'Hill and vale in slumber sleeping, I my loving vigil keeping, all through the night. While the moon her watch is keeping, all through the night, while the weary world is sleeping, all through the night.'

Nare listened to the gentle song. He stood up and began walking. He suddenly turned back to grab his shirt, then kept going into the woods. He kept walking, being lured by the song, trying to find it's source. It sounded...sweet to his dead ears, hypnotizing him in the melody. He trudged through murky water, and past gnarled trees. A snake sprang out of the water and bit his arm, but he calmly ripped it off, the fangs leaving 2 gashes in his flesh. The force broke the snakes neck and he simple dropped it into the water. The gashes began to weave back together, regenerating.

Noxious fumes rose from the murky water as Nare made his way deeper through the bog in pursuit of the hypnotic voice, and soon he could scarcely see more than a few yards through the thick haze. Where his eyes failed him though the music led him along his path step after step.

When the woman finally appeared to him it was as a phantom come out of the fumes on the wings of an angel, or perhaps a devil. Her form wavered and flowed fluidly between that of a fair beauty and a gaunt corpse with her skin stretched thin over bony cheekbones, though neither image seemed to be captured in its full essence. A ghost perhaps? A wraith? Or perhaps just a phantom of the mind come to torment him in this strange place.

The eerie woman didn't disturb the water in her passing and her footsteps left no sounds as she glided slowly towards him. As she drew close her fluctuating form settled on that of a young woman with pale skin and crimson eyes.

"My poor dear, all lost and alone," she crooned softly.

Nare's dead eyes gazed upon the ghostly image before him. He couldn't really tell what he was looking at, but it seemed to be a woman talking to him. His mouth couldn't make words at first, then after a moment, he speaks in a dazed tone.

"Who are you....and was that you singing?"

His eyes began to refocus after a few moments of blinking, but they were still clouded.

"I was singing for my children," she replied lyrically, her voice a gentle sigh tinged with sorrow.

"I am someone like you. We have been wronged you and I, but together we can set things right again. I have given you that chance, but first..."

Sanina offered her hands out for Nare to take.

"I need your help. Will you help me?" she asked.

There was something almost hypnotic about the woman's voice, her eyes, even her touch.

Nare stared at the woman, the words finally forming on his tongue.

"Yes...if you....brought me back, then the least I can do to repay you is to help. How can I help you?"

He continued to stare at her, hypnotically.

As Sanina took Nare's hands in her own she leaned close to whisper softly to him.

"You must find my family," she told him. "They must be made to know I live yet. That those who wronged us must be made to answer for their actions. Only when I am avenged will I be free of these bonds."

Her crimson eyes bled to a milky white as images were imparted to him. Just flashes of faces that were gone in rapid succession.

An elven man with skin as pale as marble turned to look upon Nare his eyes searching as if he could sense the pair watching him. His hawkish eyes were carefully guarded before his image faded and was replaced by another.

There was shouting now from a woman with wild hair and a wide assortment of piercings as she angrily shoved a dark-skinned man wearing leather and a smug smirk. They too faded.

The next image to pass Nare's eyes was that of teen making his way down a tunnel where a sea of zombie-cyborgs were parting to grant him passage. In his hand was grasped a ceremonial dagger, but he faded from view before Nare could discern his destination.

Nare found himself within a dank basement as he looked upon a young man with stark white hair and pasty white skin stretched gaunt over his bony form. He was working over a lab table where a dead canine of some sort lay motionless with the flesh pealed back from its face to reveal the muscle and bone beneath. The grizzly image lingered on momentarily before it was gone like the rest.

Next was that of a blonde woman who could have almost been the mirror image of the woman who stood before him within the bog - albeit it several years younger and with blonde hair. A sibling perhaps? While Nare was left to speculate over the woman who was at work unpacking bags within an empty room one more image appeared to him.

The final face to appear was that of a youth that couldn't have been more than sixteen or seventeen years old. He was surrounding by flashing lights and the press of bodies in what appeared to be a club of some sort.

"Viktor Thrice, Varia Vulpes, Arien Valentine, Christian Belock, Kaitlyn Lessard, and Lazarus Lessard. Remember their names," she whispered softly. "And beware the Nightroads, and the Vankoryth Detante. They are as treacherous as they are dangerous. Do not trust their words should you cross their paths. It is with the Lessard's that you will find sanctuary, and in time answers."

Nare's mind was reeling from the images. He wasn't sure if he'd even be able to remember it all...but for his memories being gone, these were almost imprinted into his mind.

"These....these people you want me to find....What do i do when I find them? Where do I even start to look for them? Also...I wish to know...what is your name?" He said, with mixed confusion, and conviction. He wasn't sure what he was really being asked to do, but he would find them. NO matter what it would take. He wondered, for a moment, what would happen if he failed. He shook away that thought as quick as he could.

"Sanina," the woman replied. "You will find them within Wing City, to the east. Tell them what I told you. Tell them of this night."

And with that the woman was simply gone leaving one to wonder if she had ever been there to begin with. No lingering trace of her remained, and there was not so much as a ripple of the waters that Nare stood within.

The entire situation that had happened....the whole conversation....Nare was not sure that it had happened. He then remembered that he was still a walking corpse. He then realized that he should start moving. Sanina...she had told him to go east, to a city called Wing City. It was his only task, and the only thing he had figured he could do. He looked up and stared at the sun between the leaves of the trees, trying to figure out the which way was east. He turned and headed to wards his left, eastward, towards Wing City. Whatever lied there had the answers he needed.

Deep within the bog the sounds of rustling water echoed midst the cacophony of animal noises and general sounds of the bog.

four shadowy figures clad in ghillie suits, vines, leaves, and other debris slowly trudged through the bog towards the group, their appearance and demeanor obscured by the mud and foliage that covered them.

Something strange and unsettling came from these strange men.

Nare could see the shadowy figures through the trees. He took to heart what She had told him, only to have trust for the Lessards. Keeping that in mind, he instantly did not trust these people. Thinking on his feet, he silently sank into the water and allowed himself to float, having his head stay submerged under the water since he no longer needed to breath. If the Marines came to look at the body, it would appear that he was dead.

Nare waits for a long time, then decides to get back up. It would appear that the group of soldiers have left the area. He sighs as he begins to take another trek into the dense forest, using only the sun as a guide towards this Wing City. The bugs kept swarming around him, trying to devour his dead flesh. Soon enough, he made his way out of the Haverous Bog and found himself staring at a sprawling city.

"This must be Wing City....Time to begin the search....." He paused. He grabbed his shirt and brought it to his nose. He took a large sniff, inhaling the smells left by his time in the bog. "I could also use a change of clothes....and a smoke." He made his way to the edge of the city, took one look back the way he came. He briefly considered just turning around and walking back to those bogs. He turned back to the city. Nare walked forward, into the sprawling streets.

Nare looked around him as he entered the city. From the looks of it, it was modernized. He walks the streets, no one paid him any attention. A name popped into his head, the first one Sanina had told him about. Viktor Thrice. It was not only a name, but a place to start searching. Anyone on the streets would notice his swamp smell, and more than likely they'd find it repulsive.

Nare looked down at the cat, he tilted his head and figured out that it was a robot from its left part of it's face revealing the inner robotics. He decided to talk to the cat, as he is sure that it couldn't be that dangerous.

"Hello, err, Char. I'm Nare....and yes I am looking for something. Do you think you can help?"

In his head, he is sure that the cat-robot is harmless, and if it becomes a problem, he could always punt the thing into the wall. It didn't look like it could survive that kind of damage.

Nare thought about what he would say to this cat robot thing.

"I am a little nervous because I am talking to a cat robot. If you have a Gps, then can you maybe find an address if I give you a name?"

He wondered if he really could trust the cat. It seemed really useful in a city like this.

Nare looked at the claws, but said nothing. Minor injuries weren't something he was worried about.

"Alright then, search for the name Viktor Thrice. A demon human and an alien huh? Sounds a bit weird. "

That was a bit off topic, but he guessed that conversing with it wasn't going to do any harm. He wondered how long he could keep his being a Zombie a secret from it.

Nare looked down at the cat as it suddenly shifted. He knelled down to get a better look at it.

"Hey....are you alright?"

He didn't know what to do, or whether it was a normal action when Char uses his GPS...wherever that was. Nare looked around, wondering if he might need a mechanic or someone to help.

Nare guessed it was just something that happened when he use his GPS. He allowed himself to not worry about it.

"Yes, please do. You have no idea how much this means to me. I'll try and pay you back at some point. Lead the way, Char."

He was genuinely happy. This cat robot seemed to be useful and trusty to him. He would surely try and befriend the thing. A pet would be a nice thing to have in his situation. He then wondered about this Viktor Thrice fellow. Would he understand what is going on, or was he someone he would have to kill? Sanina hadn't been too clear about it, so he had hope that it was the latter.
