  • M-15 Vindicator Battle Rifle - a burst-fire battle rifle. 24 round clip.
  • M-5 Phalanx Pistol - a powerful high calibre pistol, capable of tearing a limb off with a good hit. 6 round clip.
  • M-76 Revenant Light Machine Gun - a powerful weapon classified largely as an assault rifle due to its usability. High powered and with a very large clip. Somewhat inaccurate, but increased power and clip size make up for this. 80 round clip.
  • M-12 Locust SMG - A precise, accurate SMG with better long-range capabilities than other weapons in its class.
  • M-97 Viper Sniper Rifle - a rapid-fire, precise sniper rifle designed to tear through armour and riddle a target full of holes before they know what's hit them. 12 round clip.
  • M-100 Grenade Launcher - a rapid fire grenade launcher which fires frag grenades that explode three seconds after launch unless the setting is changed (variance between one and ten seconds programmed). Holds 10 grenades.
  • ML-77 Missile Launcher - a high powered rapid fire missile launcher, firing homing missiles with friend-foe recognition technology linked in with Golden Legion weapons and armour. Holds 15 missiles.
  • M-27 Scimtar Shotgun - A deadly rapid-fire shotgun. Inaccurate at long range. 8 round clip.
  • M-29 Incisor Sniper Rifle - a burst sniper rifle, firing three shots rapidly; so rapidly, in fact, that all three will be in the target before the barrel has moved a millimetre. 15 round (5 shot) clip.
  • M-101 Battle Cannon - an extremely high powered assault cannon, firing high calibre rounds from a rotating set of barrels. Fires heavy rounds effective against armour and capable of tearing limbs off.
  • M-451 Firestorm - a heavy flame-thrower, with a wide cone effect.
  • M-500 Energy Cannon - a high powered energy weapon capable of searing through thick metal. Imbued with anti-shield disruptor energy.
  • M-480 Plasma Cannon - a large plasma cannon that fire superheated plasma in both precise bolts and more massive charges.
  • M-510 Psionic Boom - a newly developed weapon that is designed specifically for usage against psionics. Projects a ray that targets the minds of psionics (and to a lesser extent anyone), inhibiting their powers and causing intense migraines.

Ammunition:
  • Shredder - bullets that are designed to shred on impact, causing severe internal damage to the target but useless against armour and shields.
  • Armour Piercing - bullets designed to tunnel through thick armour plating to inflict precise wounds.
  • Disruptor - bullets enhanced to emit a shield-disrupting energy that allows them to rapidly deplete a shield's power.
  • Inferno - bullets that superheat and ignite in the air, inflicting burns and able to start fires.
  • Inferno Shredder - combines the effects of inferno and shredder ammo.
  • Armour Piercing Disruptor - combines the effects of disruptor and armour piercing ammo.
  • Mana Drain - bullets designed to sap magical energy from a target.

Defences:
  • Psychic Shielding - passive psychic barriers that can stand up to a lot of punishment, visible as an ambient blue glow around the individual. Applies over the top of regular shielding.
  • Heavy Shielding - kinetic barriers that can stand up to a lot of punishment, visible as orange translucent plating around the individual.
  • Battle Armour - incredibly strong armour formed from synthetic plating, allowing for manoeuvrability as well as protection.
  • Light Armour - mid-strength armour formed of synthetic fibres, allowing for much greater manoeuvrability as well as a degree of protection.
  • Heavy Armour Plating - extremely tough exterior armour, resistant against overload effects.

Gadgets:
  • OmniTool - versatile technological gadget, worn on the back of the hand to form a holographic glove. Can serve as a phone, a computer, link into HUVs, and serve as a small scale gravity manipulator to lift objects up to the size of a cabinet or sofa (for example). Other less commonly employed functions are provided.
  • Stealth Field Generator - armour enhancement allowing for visual cloaking, making the user almost entirely invisible.
  • Dispel Projector - a small handheld device that can release pulses of energy that work similarly to a magical dispel.
  • Psychic Wailer - a small handheld device that works similarly to the Psionic Boom, but projects a constant field.
  • Anti-Wailer - an earpiece that allows OmniCorp/Legion psionics to resist the effects of the Boom/Wailer.

Implants:
  • Psychic Implants - producing varying G values of telekinetic force (the average human without ESP powers can take up to 3Gs before their heart fails from shock or similar, it takes 5Gs to shatter concrete and specialised equipment to handle ESPers usually handles up to 20Gs), that can be employed in a wide variety of ways.
  • Tech Implants - allowing the user a degree of technopathy, employable to electronically overload machines, hack AI, infiltrate security systems and disable weaponry and vehicles remotely.
  • Pyrokinesis Implants - not yet fully developed and sold. Enables the user to control and generate flames.
  • Electrokinesis Implants - not yet fully developed and sold. Enables the user to control and generate electricity/lightning.

The OmniCorp convoy wasn't a regular feature of Kynala's travel arrangements, but considering the volatile and soldier-infested nature of Wing City at present, she - and her security chief - felt it pertinent that she have accompaniment of some magnitude. And so the slick black limousine that normally carried the company's CEO was accompanied by a number of cars decorated with the Golden Legion insignia.

"Roselyn is expecting us soon." Kynala said, peering through to the front of the vehicle. Her secretary sat across from her in the back, and nodded, knocking on the window between the driver and them.

"A little faster, please." she instructed. The driver nodded and accelerated, and in line with them, so did the rest of the convoy.

Kynala adjusted her dress, casting her eyes out of the side window. This trouble on Terra was ... alarming.

As the explosion rocked the street, Kynala sat forwards sharply. "What's happening?" she exclaimed. Shiala was already leaping into action, snatching a radio up from the seat next to her and flicking the switch.

"Report, Niala!" she snapped into the device.

A few seconds passed before the security chief's voice came back through. "Car bomb -- took out the rear car! An unidentified assailant has hijacked the car behind you, you need to get out of here, now."

Shiala bashed her fist against the separating window. "Floor it!" she barked at the driver. The command in her voice left little room for argument. The man floored it.

The second car, in the meanwhile, slowed to try and draw alongside Evelyn's vehicles. Golden Legion troops within levelled assault rifles at the woman's vehicle, and opened fire from the windows. Niala, in the front car, narrowed her eyes through the windscreen at the traffic in their path. With a flash of blue energy in her eyes, the alien woman parted the sea of other cars with a wave of psychic power, tossing the cars out of the way to land (mostly) harmlessly at the side of the road.

Kynala scowled. "Who on earth is trying to kill us?" she muttered.

"I'm working on it." Shiala muttered, a datapad grasped in her hand. She held her OmniTool up, and was in the process of communicating with her agents. "I want CCTV footage for the entire area within the last hour sent to my pad, and I want you to run as many checks on suspect individuals as you need to find out who the hell this is and shut them down."

The swinging car door caught the mercenary's rifle and sent it wildly flailing away, bullets spraying across the car before the rifle itself was dislodged from the man's hand and lost far behind the cars.

In the front seat of the car, a Legion Vanguard turned towards Evelyn's vehicle and discharged a pulse of psychic energy at the engine, aiming to rupture it and cut the car's power.

In the meantime, the other cars continued to rocket away. Kynala was beginning to think that she was home free. But considering that this was the second attempt on her life recently, she would have to see about actually taking out the less-than-successful assassin before he or she had her 'third time lucky'.

The screeching of tyres made it clear that the car that had been shooting at Evelyn wasn't about to give up. The vehicle braked sharply to a halt, and the doors swung open. The four mercenaries within - two troopers, a vanguard and an engineer - hastened out, clad in their golden yellow armour, and began to sprint after the woman.

The Ri vanguard swung out her arm in an attempt to toss a dumpster into Evelyn's path, whilst the troopers fired bursts of assault rifle fire after her retreating form. Once she rounded the corner, they continued to pursue her - their opportunities to fire on her were only intermittent due to the winding nature of the alleyways, but the Legion mercenaries were persistent.

Niala's car continued to cut through the traffic, though the security chief was no longer resorting to tossing cars aside, but rather weaving through. The limo driver followed behind - the longer vehicle was harder to manoeuvre than the other car, but the driver knew what he was doing. They would reach the freeway within a few minutes, making for the Golden Legion headquarters, the closest safe location.

The sound of angry shouts carried after Evelyn as the pursuing Golden Legion were caught up short by the burning vehicle, their vanguard furiously working to shove the vehicle to the side to allow passage. By the time they did so, however, Evelyn was long gone. After a brief exchange of instructions, the Legion split. The vanguard and a soldier headed straight ahead - down the street Evelyn had fled - whilst the others split up to try and cover as many routes as the elusive woman could have taken as possible.

Kynala's limousine and remaining escort car were on the freeway now, thundering through the traffic with weaving movements that meant they were trailed by a blaring of horns and angry drivers swerving to avoid other cars. The CEO sat calmly in her seat, confident now that she was out of harm's way.

"Any luck on identifying the assailant yet?" she inquired.

Her secretary shook her head, "Not yet. I'll be able to work better once I have an actual workstation."

Kynala simply nodded. It could wait until then, at the very least.

"Shit, stop the car!" Niala yelled, the security chief grabbing her gun from beside her as the escort car shrieked to a halt, narrowly avoiding hitting one of the stopped cars and its escaping occupants. With a yelled command, she and the three legion soldiers in the car flung open their doors and climbed out combat ready. The two soldiers on the side nearest Evelyn attempted to hasten around the rear of the vehicle to avoid taking fire from her.

Kynala's limo driver slammed the brakes at the same time as Niala's driver, and the long vehicle swerved and screeched out of control, rocking to the point of nearly overturning, before eventually it came to a halt sideways on to the road. In the front, the limo driver jumped out and sprinted off down the freeway.

Well, Kynala thought, he certainly was being fired.

Shiala edged towards the window, peering out onto the road and narrowing her eyes. She just hoped that this assailant would be taken down by the remaining guards.

A grunt of pain came from one of the mercenaries as a bullet struck him in the back of the neck, embedding itself in his armour and driving into his spine. He dropped to the floor, and lay still. The other two mercenaries scrambled into cover, one taking a shot to his leg, that the armour stopped short of causing any damage.

Niala narrowed her eyes at Evelyn's position, and sprung up out of her cover to fire off two quick bursts of shots from her battle rifle, the inferno rounds she had locked in burning dangerously far through the hood of the car Evelyn was hidden behind. If it had been a movie, the vehicle would almost certainly have exploded. But it wasn't.

With a sweep of her arm, the Ri shoved forwards at the car itself with her psychic implant, pushing it with some force across the ground to dislodge Evelyn from her position. Fortunately for Evelyn, Niala had expended much of her psychic reserves in clearing the road earlier, and the force behind the shove wasn't enough to deal any serious damage.

"Shit! Get out of the way!" Niala barked, jumping to her feet and diving out of the way of the oncoming car. One of the legion mercenaries wasn't so lucky, and was hurled sideways as the car rammed into his cover and tossed him away. He was alive, but out for the count.

Relying on her shielding to protect her from incoming fire, Niala turned and sprayed bullets towards Evelyn's vehicle, aiming largely through the windscreen.

Shiala in the meantime narrowed her eyes and readied herself to react to an attempted charge on Kynala's car on Evelyn's part. Kynala herself had her pistol out, but was awaiting Shiala's word to move out from the halted limo. The bulletproof vehicle served as good protection for the time being.

The tossed security car was tossed straight towards Niala, and the security chief cursed as she pulled up her psychic powers into a barrier to protect herself. The car hit her, and she was sent catapulting into the side of the freeway. Her shielding and her barrier protected her from the majority of the damage, but that didn't stop it smarting like a bitch.

With the escorting mercenaries all either dead or disabled, Shiala chose this moment to exit the limo, drawing her pistol out and glancing at Kynala. "Stay here." she instructed, dropping into a crouch and taking cover behind a nearby people carrier.

Slowly, the secretary-cum-spymaster made her way towards the overturned car where Evelyn was recovering herself. If she could eliminate this problem now, it would save her a hell of a lot of trouble later on tracking her down ...

As Evelyn stood, Shiala's form lit up with an aura of fluctuating blue psychic energy, and the Ri woman extended her hands with a narrowing of illuminated eyes. A wave of psychic energy flew out towards the retreating Evelyn even as the thermokinetic energy passed towards Shiala, picking up chunks of car and even tossing the cars themselves in its path as it rocketed towards her.

The secretary staggered backwards as the heat hit her, the psychic attack losing some of its momentum, and she baulked away as her flesh scalded. Fine. The woman could have her escape. But Shiala would find her. Shiala was most excellent at finding people. The secretary fired off a couple of token shots at the retreating woman, before turning to stalk back to the remnants of the convoy...

"What do you mean you don't know?"

The angry figure of Kynala Evantus stood glaring at a boardroom of scientists who seemed to cringe away from her gaze as it crossed over each of them. The blue-skinned Ri was an imposing sight when she wanted to be, seeming to gain several inches - but that might have just been the heels. "What am I paying you for? You have the most advanced technology for analysis available and you can't produce results? What do you need? If money can buy it, it is yours!"

In the corner of the room, a yellow-clad woman was peering out of the window, bored. One of the scientists spoke up, "My apologies, Ms. Evantus, but it's just nothing like we've ever encountered before. Our readings are distorted and confused, almost nonsensical. It would take months of study to even begin to infer..."

Kynala scowled, "We might not have months." she said grimly, "Something is happening and it is happening now. My assets and my life need to be protected, Dr. Ismaela. I don't want the walls of a skyscraper melting while I'm in it. I want there not to be a disaster situation on my hands. I don't care what it takes, who you have to work with -- give me some idea here! Hit me with theories, speculation. What have you found so far?"

There was a short pause whilst thoughts were collected and passed around the table in a series of hushed whispers. Kynala tapped her foot.

"Aside from the obvious explanation that this is a magical occurrence, rather than a natural one, there are... some theories. The idea of alternate realities or dimensions has been tossed about, somehow interacting with ours - realities where our races never developed or perhaps the universe itself never happened, causing parts of ours to seem to disappear. The emotional state alteration that comes with the visions has been suggested to be direct mental influence, some form of hypnosis or psionics. There's also been discussion over it being related to spacetime; the theory of wormholes where spacetime can be 'folded' to create bridges between two locations and times..."

Nodding, Kynala waved a hand, "So long as you are making progress. Go, get back to work. I want another report in three hours, verbal will do. Don't waste time writing."

As the scientists left the room, Kynala turned to the yellow-glad woman. "What are your thoughts, Saidra? You're from another realm, that's why I had you brought here."

Saidra scoffed, "Listen, Ms. Evantus, I don't know any more than you. I'm from another realm, that doesn't mean I'm an expert on what your scientists were talking about. I know magic, but I'm no scholar. You want to talk to someone with more experience than me."

Kynala nodded, "Very well. You may go, then."

As the mercenary left the room, Kynala sighed. She hated feeling powerless, but that was what she was. Money couldn't knit the universe back together if it blew up.

The woman clicked from the elevator and crossed the elegant entryway. Her shoulders were back, briefcase in hand, professionally garbed and not a hair out of place.

She did not occupy one of the lavish seating options, but strolled directly up to the secretary.

"Good evening, I have an appointment?" Looking into the eyes of the secretary, she would try her best to manipulate her favor.

Shiala Castele, Kynala's Ri secretary met Daemala's eyes with a frown upon her purple features. "Ms. Evantus is currently waiting for a meeting with the Terran National Government..." she began, before trailing off as the vampire's abilities took effect. Though her race were all naturally telepaths, the non-psionic nature of vampiric compulsion was not something that they guarded against. Her implants were designed to grant her powerful telekinesis rather than mental fortitude.

The Ri woman knew something wasn't right, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. "I... imagine that she will be able to fit you in, though. They aren't here yet. I'll show you in."

Rising, she gestured for Daemala to follow as she stepped towards the wooden double doors, pushing them open.

"A ..." it occurred to Shiala that she hadn't asked the woman's name. That was odd. How had she known she had an appointment? Maybe she'd just forgotten... "Somebody here to see you, Ms. Evantus. They have an appointment."

Kynala looked up from her desk with a frown, "What? Shiala, I'm not seeing anyone other than the TNG at present. I don't know who this woman is, but unless it's blasted High Councillor Z'rii herself, then she can wait."

"I..." Shiala began, looking back at Daemala, "I think you have to..."

Something definitely wasn't right here, Shiala knew it. But why couldn't she figure it out? What was wrong with her? Her normally razor-sharp mind was foggy, she couldn't focus on anything!

Daemala waited patiently, smile upon her sealed lips, as the secretary reasoned with herself. Oh, she was good, but Daemala's age reigned victorious. She found herself sighing one of Casren's iconic sighs as Ms Castele finally lead Daemala toward the grandiose doors to what was clearly the CEO's office.

Ms. Evantus, Daemala caught the name, and was sure to memorize it immediately. It would do no good if she couldn't even name with whom she was speaking.

Not seeing anyone? Calmly, she stood beside one of the chairs in the office, looking from one lady to the other. That changed rather quickly, to Daemala's pleasure, as the secretary asserted her position.

"Daemala Tauvyr," She stepped forth and extended a hand, placing her briefcase on the chair as if to mark her territory. Daemala shot one last powerful glance at the secretary before turning her attention to the CEO.

"Ms. Evantus," Daemala went to meet her eyes over the hand shake, "Such a pleasure to finally meet you. I know we've only corresponded once-I myself just found the email this morning. To think, I would have missed tonight!" Daemala let slip a humored laugh.

"To what are you referring, woman?" Kynala demanded, frowning. "I don't recall any such correspondence... You seem ... familiar, but-" The Ri woman's eyes narrowed slightly at Daemala, unknowingly battling with the vampire's compulsion. Kynala was a strong woman - she might not have been anywhere near as old as Daemala, but in human terms she was old; approaching one hundred. Her mind was the hardened instrument of a businesswoman and a politician, a negotiator and a manipulator. She was a hard cookie to convince of anything that went against her stubborn viewpoint.

The CEO shook her head, lifting a hand to brush against her wrist, an orange glow lighting up as her OmniTool responded to the touch. "I'm looking through my sent messages and I don't see your name, or anything referring to a meeting..."

Kynala looked back at Daemala. "Ms Tauvyr, was it? You- no, you do not appear to have an appointment. I am afraid I have absolutely no idea who you are, but I am quite concerned with the fact that I feel I should do."

Something was amiss. "What are you here for? You have my ear for however long it takes me to return to my normal practice of keeping a schedule."

Shiala watched on in confusion. Kynala didn't remember an appointment, but there ... there was one. She was sure of it, wasn't she? She certainly had been sure of it.

The secretary reached for her OmniTool to check her own emails, busying herself poring through them for some mention of the strange woman between her and Kynala.

Daemala watched them, with a poker face. She refused to acknowledge the missing e-mail, or the fact that her deception obviously wasn't working anymore. Who was this woman? She was good. Slowly decreasing the mental pressure on Kynala, she shifted her subconscious attention to the secretary, keeping the faint presence in that direction at least for a moment or two longer.

What? She couldn't have her fun?

"Hm, strange," A furrow placed itself on Daemala's brow, as she reached behind her for the briefcase. The raven haired woman plopped herself in the chair, pulling the case onto her lap. "You know, most people tend to forget our meetings. It's strange, considering," She unzipped one of two pouches and it flopped open, revealing this side to be a laptop. After pressing a button, twice, three times, hm, Daemala lookup up to the woman.

"Still don't remember? The funds transfer? We were supposed to do it in person, though digital?" Daemala blinked, then typed in her passcode and clicked away.

"We were buying stock?" She raised her brows, eluding that the woman she was speaking with was unprofessional.

"As stock for everything but Sol Enterprise is down, we figured now would be the time to invest in OmniCorp, considering they are the one company that seems to not be still falling. After our recent business expansions we've had some changes to our investing budget and, well, OmniCorp seems to fit right in," It was a compliment, though a twisted one, and babbled out in a thick Italian accent as she clattered away on the keys.

Kynala folded her arms, leaning back in her seat. "Investing, hm? I imagine you're contemplating something larger in scale than what can be achieved just by buying off the stock market, or else you wouldn't be here." The Ri woman regained her composure as the mental pressure faded, mentally questioning why she was giving this woman the time of the damned day without an appointment.

She was here now, she supposed. She might as well hear her out.

"I maintain that you're mistaken regarding our previous contact. Perhaps you spoke with someone on my board who has yet to pass the message on, perhaps not." Kynala made no suggestions as to what the alternatives might be, but her tone made it clear she was suspicious of just what was going on here. There was a strange, unknown woman in her office who had somehow made it past security and red tape (and she wasn't sure which of those was more of a feat) to make a personal offer.

"Well, my ears are open. Giving you the benefit of the doubt, why don't you explain the details of this proposition 'again'," the CEO said, putting enough inflection on the word 'again' to imply the inverted commas around it. "Oh," she paused to glance at Shiala, "Shiala, could you please ask Jenna to bring us some drinks?"

Shiala blinked up at hearing her name, nodding hastily. The normally on-the-dot at all times young woman was all over the place, it seemed. Kynala found that unusual too, but she supposed everyone had off days. It was noted, however. As Shiala brought up her communicator, pacing to the door to avoid disturbing the conversation, Kynala turned back to Daemala.

"Investing yes, as for the mistake," She said plainly, waving a hand and resuming her keyboard clatter, all while not removing her eyes from the screen. "When you are a non-profit organization such as we, you tend to find interest in the real estate market. Part of our business plan is, in fact, the housing of the homeless. I'm sure you've heard of the recent issues with them in Wing City, what with parking laws and auto-residency. Don't you watch the news?" It was now Daemala would look to the CEO. She barreled on, leaving little room for answer. The woman was, after all, in a rush, was she not?

"Either way, I'm supposed to transfer 22,000 credits into the OmniCorp Receiving Fund. A receipt of course be included, for your personal documents. " Her fingers hovered over the keyboard as she rubbed them together. " All you need to do is fill out the official name of your fund, type in the transfer number and sign." She flipped the laptop around, tapping at the screen hesitantly. It took a moment, but eventually a simple document was brought up.

"Of course, if you'd like to sign as well, as a notary, it would be much appreciated, " Daemala whipped her attention to the doorframe, managing to suppress her urge to manipulate the secretary again.

Kynala leaned forwards onto her hands, shaking her head slowly. "Let's slow down for a moment. This is all very sudden, and frankly there's a lot of information that I'm missing. I need to know just exactly who I'm dealing with..." she began, eyes scanning the screen. Vankoryth ... Where had she heard that name recently? Wasn't there something about that ... yes, there was. Vankoryth Detente. Vampires.

That explained a lot. But at the same time, it left a lot of questions unanswered.

"Alright, Ms Tauvyr. Let's rewind for a moment. This sort of thing is something that traditionally gets run by my board. Now, I don't doubt my own judgement, but I don't know that I have the time to research enough about your organisation to come to an informed decision. You'd think that receiving money was simple, no? But I have to be careful, you see -- there's such a thing as 'dirty money'. I don't mean to imply anything about you or your organisation, but to be honest, I know very little about either. I hold my company's reputation as one of my utmost priorities." Kynala took a breath, "I've spent more than enough time in business to know that just signing on the dotted line ought to be assumed a bad idea unless proven otherwise."

In the meantime, the elevator sounded outside, signalling the arrival of Jenna. The blonde woman stepped out with an irritated expression, wheeling a trolley of drinks.

Kynala went on, "I would need to run things by my lawyers, etcetera..." The Ri woman was wary about any business deal being proposed by someone who had just waltzed into her office by some vampiric trick. She wanted to know the full story before moving forwards.

As Jenna entered the office, Kynala gestured to the trolley. "Tea? Coffee? Water?" she offered.

Daemala smiled, revealing for the first time her fangs.

"Dirty money, of course, any true entrepreneur would have the same concerns," Her condescending tone was working it's way out, albiet slowly. As she continued to speak, Daemala would pull from the briefcase a professional slip of parchment, labeled The Blood Edict. After handing it off, she would continue.

"You may have heard of our recent efforts to quell the plague on this city that is," a smirk, "Our race. Fortunately, our supporters happen to be of the financially influential type, including the Family Dracul," Daemala then swiveled the laptop, to reveal what appeared to be a wiki profile for the family. After giving her a moment to look it over, and politely refusing a refreshment, Daemala turned the computer back to herself and began typing again.

"Now, this money of course must be put to good use, and I don't mean the buying of flashy cars," Which went out of style faster than her hair color. "The Vankoryth Detente along with the Family Dracul fund, operate, maintain a small community nestled within the Domain of the Detente. It is a community exclusively for creatures like us," Again, the smile as she turned the laptop. This time, the TERRACAST website was pulled up, and a commercial was ready to be played on screen.

Daemala waited patiently for the credentials to be reviewed. She hoped the blood being would find her provided information settling. That was the idea, wasn't it? Improved relations between the mortals and them? Get the mortals out of their hair for once?
