Oratores Damnationis

Harbingers for the damned, collectors of the souls, these four from the midway plane of existence known as Limbo come together and reap the terrors that the beings of the overworlds and underworlds sow...Take your pick of which one, unless you want all 4.

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Verum Umbra

Description

In order from left to right.

Tenbatsu, head of the group, wears a long black cloak, leather belting around his waist, a pair of chains running around the back, his arms, shoulders, chest, and neck covered in a dark black armor, the back of the plating on the arms sporting three, thick spikes, the same going for his shoulders. The neck armor reaches a stopping point at the back of his head all the way down to the lower part of his chin, completed by a silver colored mask which secures into place.

Kaiho is the elder of the female twins within the Oratores Damnationis, she is the only member of the group who actually shows her face. She is a rather gorgeous and a bit sultry, though she keeps her body covered in a near all white garb, which could be described similar to the outfit of a ringleader from a circus. Her eyes are a faint color of amethyst. Her trademark is a white tophat with a violet corsage.

Tsumi is the younger of the female twins within the Oratores Damnationis. Her hair is exposed, but her face is covered by a simplistic mask. With pale blonde hair, she is shorter than her elder sister naturally. She also wears white clothing, put with a pure black trench cloak. Keeps a slightly hunched posture.

Moso is by far the largest member physically. Standing 7'1" and weighing in at 274 lbs., he is immense compared to the other three. He is essentially featureless, his mask lined vertically and built similarly to Tenbatsu's. The twin collars on his cloak are flipped upward and are stiff and unmoving. Another majorly noticable feature of Moso on his black clothing is a pair of thick, dark straps that go over his shoulders, upper arms, shoulder blades, and chest. He still has use of his hands, but often does not use them.

Personality

Tenbatsu: The head of the group, he is cold, calm, focused, and is essentially the one in charge of the show, so to speak. Once given and assigned a target or group to harvest from and drag to Limbo, he shall not allow anything to impede the progress of him or his team. A strong-willed, powerful individual, he still holds a sense of honor despite the actions and orders he is given and performs. Often stands in a tall, upright manner to uphold the idea that his the leader, often having his arms folded when not giving orders or fighting.

Kaiho: The most outgoing, flamboyant, and upbeat member. She is often looking for trouble if not causing trouble herself. With her way she wields words, she sways normal men and women with ease, though he sister Tsumi says that it is Kaiho's charm, not the coercion. If need be, Kaiho will take on more sultry mannerisms, and she is not afraid to flaunt what she has.

Tsumi: A shy, introverted girl, she tends to keep close to her contrastly upbeat elder sister. Often speaks quietly, and with a soft stutter when put on the spot, she often freezes up when startled or scared, having a tedency to cling to or hide behind either Kaiho or Moso, the latter whom is a sort of gentle giant in Tsumi's eyes. Can be passionate and agressive when working to get a point across, but, as stated, will usually keep to herself.

Moso: Stoic, introspective, antisocial, all things that can describe this near silent entity. With his arms seemingly strapped down and unmoving, body language is unreadable. His face is hidden, so expresion cannot be seen. And he rarely talks, and often does so in a low, droning tone, where emotion seems lacking. However, he does possess a strong sense of empathy, and often uses that to give him a reason to speak.

Equipment

Except for Tenbatsu's slightly weaponized armor plates, equipped with hidden blades, throwing knives, and even spined brass knuckles, there is no actual equipment used by the Oratores Damnationis.

History

The Oratores Damnationis, "Emissaries of Damnation", has been a small organization that was established since the dawns of time, created along side Oratores Salutis, "Emissaries of Salvation". Each both selected four of some of the more unique and excellent beings that played in well with the alignement of the group; Oratores Damnationis were often beings who either were indifferent about taking these lives and souls, or even enjoyed it, where inversely, the Oratores Salutis often did what they did for the "greater good" and to try and better the realms.

The current lineup has a unique background, Tenbatsu being a direct descendant of some of the first members of the group, which allowed him to qualify automatically. Moso was a prisoner of war from the underworld, but his massive size and bizzare, not to mention dangerous, abilities had him turned over to the group and released. Kaiho and Tsumi are the only members that had ever once been human; Kaiho was selected due to how she joyfully took pride in the sins she had committed before with her abilities, Tsumi only being with Kaiho not only due to blood relation, but also partially because she was integrated into the group as the current fourth member by Kaiho herself. While one would think that this group of four would be completely dysfunctional and uncooperative with each other, it is quite the opposite; they are tightly knit, working together like cogs in a well oiled machine, playing off of each other's strengths and weaknesses.

So begins...

The tall and dark member of the Oratores Damnationis known as Moso stood alone and solemn, sighing softly as he wandered.

There was a creak from the bar as he leaned against it, Moso tilting his head lightly. His gaze was invisible, but one could almost seem to "feel" it. His voice rung out in a low, sort of droning and...Dare one say, depressive tone. "...What...Do you recommend...?"

"...Something with flavor, please...Alcohol is no worry to me..." As Moso spoke, that fog came out of his mask; it was like a human in low temperatures, a warm breath becoming thick and visible in the cold air, but it still revealed itself here in this fairly leveled building temperature. The shadoy being shifted before turning his invisible gaze onto the female that spoke rather boisterously. "...It is common courtesy to say please..." He muttered to this armed woman, his tone unchanged.

"...Hm...So young and foolish..." Moso nodded once to the Zekil and threw back the drink in little time, gently setting the goblet down onto the bartop and sliding it forward gently. Slowly, his head was tilted upward and then, with that rolling fog, he spoke, still addressing the female next to him. "...Regardless of how one sees it, there is a sense of honor in many actions, even something so simple as saying "Please" or "Thank you"...." A pause went by his speech before tilting his head less than an inch in her direction. "But...I highly doubt a young upstart such as yourself...Would know or understand such things..."

"...Hm...So you say...But..." There was another, seeming habitual pause before he turned his head, his body unmoving unless he so wished it. The way his head turned without even an inch of a quiver from his body was almost unnatural. "...It would be wise that you not denounce others or compare yourself to be more or less of something to someone you know nothing about..." With a cutting off of the fog, he ended on that point. He was never one to argue or make such points. Moso even surprised himself with how much he had spoken. But, so long as he could avoid a physical confrontation, he would be fine. Half of these entities would most likely see him once again when it came time for their soul to pass on post mortem, so he wanted to keep his head down...For now.

Moso quietly watched as Zekil pocketed the suspicious capsule. Just what was it, and why did that being leave it behind so slyly and unnoticably? He exhaled with a long sigh, that quasi-fog passing through for a moment before turning his gaze to Adrian Blackheart, to Zekil, his hidden eyes being directed to each of those he could see for a moment. "......"

"...Nothing..." He simply replied to Zekil, his back to the woman by now. It seemed she wouldn't be satisfied and dismissed so easily. After a moment, he sat up a bit, pressing his palm and outstretched hand against the bar's top. "...Trust...Such a human concept...Yes, it is weak, but I would know nothing of the sort...Would you?"

Moso gace a slight sigh once more as he watched the exchange nearby, the small wyvern and the male seeming ready to go at it. Not surprising, given the nature of the actions from both sides towards each other, but he shook his head, speaking now to the male. "...Such idle threats only serve to agitate and make others irrate...I can only ask that this arguing cease..." His empathetic mind was starting to give him a headache from the agitated atmosphere, and that was the last thing he needed.

"...Regardless...Better to take the high road than instigate things further...Hm...?" The male turned his head, looking to the miniscule wyvern. Moso was sure that this small, intelligent creature could just as easily understand what he was saying, since it was also directed to Houto.

Moso sat quietly for a moment, contemplating the actions that had been made so far since he had entered. This place seemed to be better than parts of its reputation stated. Still, he kept his guard up. As a part of the Oratores Damnationis, he was naturally a more cynical and dark being, but due to his strong sense of empathy, he was prone to much gentler and subtle tendencies than the other three.

Moso tilted his head from the left then to the right, an unnatural cracking and popping sound heard as he did so before his head naturally slid back into place, a strong exhale producing a thick and large amount of the fog from the break in his mask. Things were calm enough, but as he knew in his line of work, a situation could go from being calm to chaotic in a split second. He kept his eyes peeled, making sure to keep his sights looking through each level of existence, from the ethereal plane to the physical realm he was in now.

There was a pause before Moso turned his gaze to the group that had entered the bar. Soldiers, all of them it seemed. The haze and fog rolled with his breathing, the towering entity shaking his head before turning back to the bar.

Moso stood up swiftly as the young woman barreled into the bar, his sheer height now becoming apparent to those who didn't see him enter. He easily towered over most all the beings here as far as he knew, but the sudden appearance of this female agitated him for a moment. He forgot about the surrounding beings for the moment before turning his masked head and gaze toward the doors. He didn't know what caused this girl to come running in the way she did, but he got the feeling he would soon learn. "......"

Moso was in front of the demon in the blink of an eye. Even if his siding in the order of things was considered evil by most living beings of any realm, he still existed as a peacekeeper and maintainer of balance. The fog rolled heavier from his mask as he spoke. "...I will only say this once...Leave now...Or the consequences shall be severe..."

His hand went up and stopped the attempted strike in its tracks, despite the upper portions of his arms still being strapped down. His grip and stance was solid, his arm hardly moving from the impact. If there was anything Moso was known for other than his size was his durability. The dark soul's grip was like a vice as he leaned down. "...You will leave now..." The fog blew right into the demon's face. This, was just a normal breath, same as any did.

Moso lowered his hand and shook his head. He was happy he didn't have to truly start anything further than that. After confirming the demon was gone, he turned and approached the bar slowly addressing the cowering female behind the bar. "...It is safe for you to come out now..." After a short exhaled and a little more fog, he spoke once more, directed to the human at the bar. "...If you are attempting to disguise your sex, then you are doing a very poor job of it..."

After confirming the unconscious state, he turned his head upward, sighing softly in relief. She wasn't dead, which was good. He didn't feel like calling the others here, since he had taken this time to be alone in the first place. "...Hm...Insist and lie as you wish...The truth is the truth...And trying to hide it can be futile..."

Moso turned and approached the girl calmly, lightly and reassuringly placing a hand on her shoulder. He had a feeling she would be hysteric, so he exhaled for a fog, but this one was a light violet color; a sort of gas based agent that laxed the nerves and muscles, acting as a sort of drug that created a mellowing high. If this girl inhaled the fog, it would take effect, and calm her. "...It's alright....You're safe now..."

Moso watched the girl for a moment before turning his gaze to the window. He couldn't see anything at first, but he felt a presence. If it was hiding itself, it was doing a good job, but not good enough if Moso could sense it. He disregarded the feeling before turning an kneeling down by the duo. A male seemed to be trying to wake a female up, and she was not budging. Moso knelt down by them, speaking as the white fog puffed out. "...May I be of assistance...?"
