A Prior of the Ori, spreading the word of Origin.

0 · 440 views · located in The Lessard Family Manor

a character in “The Multiverse”, originally authored by RolePlayGateway, as played by barney_fife

Description

Image

Priors of the Ori were advanced humans who possessed amazing powers bestowed upon them by the Ori, Ascended Beings who manifested themselves in a wall of fire in a far galaxy that was the original home of the Ancients (also known as the Altera).

Personality

A Prior of the Ori didn't identify himself by a unique name, but instead referred to himself as "a Prior of the Ori". Although human, he had some distinguishing features that identified him as a Prior. He had decorative scarification on his chin and cheeks and the pupils of his eyes appeared to be totally dilated and covered in cataracts, giving them an eerie white opaque appearance as those of a blind man. A Prior's hair was also made increasingly gray when he was given his powers by the Ori. Human men appeared to grow paler when converted into a Prior, giving them an ashen, death-like pallor.

Priors were missionaries who preached the word of the Ori from The Book of Origin. This religion was called Origin.

Equipment

Powers and Methods

Priors were advanced humans who had extraordinary mental powers, including telekinesis and telepathy. If the powers demonstrated by Khalek and Ancients were used as a guide, they also had advanced healing capabilities (to heal themselves or someone else).

Orbed Staff

The Priors operated their orbed staffs with their impressive mental powers. The blue orb on the staff glowed when activated and appeared to amplify the Prior's powers. Priors used the staff to:

* resurrect someone from the dead.
* light fires.
* set themselves on fire.
* kill someone through suffocation.
* control Ancient technology.
* cause earthquakes.
* cure people of sickness.
* levitate or propel people and objects.
* transport a person's consciousness to the Ori home galaxy.
* curse someone into becoming a zombie.
* control Ori technology, including piloting the warships.
* communicate with other Priors through a subspace link.

History

Modus Operandi

Priors used various approaches to gain the people's loyalty. The most popular method was through the working of miracles. For those people who were impoverished after the fall of the Goa'uld, such demonstrations were often all that was necessary to be converted. The Priors were also quite convincing speakers who knew how to sway those who were unfamiliar with advanced technology or those who were already seeking the Path to Enlightenment.

If, however, miracles and words and the promise of ascension were not enough, then pain and suffering were inflicted. The Priors infected people with the Prior Plague and then offered the cure if the people would turn. This convinced many people and was one of the most successful methods until the Aschen developed a cure for the Plague.

Priors began sending the Prior Bugs to places that had the Plague cure already available. These bugs consumed vegetation, but when that was gone, they'd convert into carnivores and use people as their food source.

The Prior Bugs were most likely sent to planets where the people were emphatically against surrendering to the Ori. Some populations, such as that of Sartorus, were destroyed by earthquakes. The Priors also sent armies of their converts to destroy those refusing the Ori. In some cases, a planet, such as Kallana, was wiped out when it was collapsed into a micro-singularity to power a Supergate.

Priors also related the technical plans to build advanced weapons and ships to people who were not technologically advanced to build them on their own. One such weapon, a satellite, was used by one country against another as a means of forcing conversion to Origin). The Priors also assisted in the building and activation of the massive warships sent to invade the Milky Way.

Priors were the leaders of the groups of warriors trained in the Ori's home galaxy and sent to the Milky Way in the warships. Additionally, only the Orici or the Priors were meant to pilot these warships, interfacing with the technology through mental control and their genetic code.

So begins...

Ori Prior The doors to the quiet and quaint bar would open slowly as a figure stepped into the bar. He had smokey gray robes and a hood that covered his bald head, in one hand would be seen a wooden looking staff, in his other hand would be a book. His eyes would seem to look around as he stepped into the bar. Thunk..thunk...thunk... his feet would be heard as he walked through the bar. "Greetings my children.. hallowed are the Ori." He said peacefully as he looked around. Book still snug in hand.

Ori Prior The Prior said nothing as he stepped through the bar, watching the battles unfold around him as he spoke. "Glorious are the Ori, who lead us to salvation, who did fight the evil that would doom us all to mortal sin. Did they defeat the old spirits and cast them out? And now, with the strength of our will, they do call upon us to prevail against the corruption of all unbelievers." He announced as he watched the fights unfold all around him. "Hallowed are the Ori!" He announced before his eyes fell upon Maleficus. "By the gods.." He said as he watched the display of power. "The gifts the Ori bestow upon us are limitless.."

Ori Prior The Prior would say nothing as he stood there in the throng of the bar. All while slowly making his way to the exit, he would make his exit the same way he came in, slowly walking through the doors of the bar, then he turned a corner and would make his way out. Walking into the dark city streets.

The Ori Prior was standing in the front of the manor, his cloudy grey eyes looking up to the walls of the victorian style building before he started to make his approach, staff and book in hand. The Prior had been dispatched to check on the latest convert, and perhaps guide him on the path.

The Prior said nothing and with a wave of his hand, the gates to the manor opened, and the Prior began his approach.

The Ori Prior approached the family manor quietly, his pallid face reflecting the harsh Terran sunlight. The lone Prior had been dispatched for one purpose, to check on the welfare of the new convert. Slowly he approached the gates, and waved them open with a simple motion of his hand.

The Prior said nothing, simply followed the now open pathway towards the manor itself, looking and listening. "He is here..." He said to himself, quietly as he pressed his staff to the concrete.

The Prior replied. "Hallowed are the Ori." He said, correcting the greeting. "I have come to check your progress on the path to enlightenment." He said, inclining his head slightly, before approaching.

"I trust you are setling in? Like Hannor Mir and his miracle."

The prior offered a smile. "Through the Ori, anything is possible, It is the will of the Ori, that we should spread Origin to all those blessed by their creation." The Prior said, nodding to the book. "Through the book of Origin comes the knowledge and power of those who bless it."

The Prior's expression then darkened.

"However..."

"Those who reject the path to enlightenment, must be destroyed."

nodded, and made his way through the house. "It is our duty to spread Origin to all creation, and those who reject the path must be cast out." He said, turning around and facing the child.

"Those who abandon the path are evil."

He then turned back around, and inclined his head. "And so they must be destroyed, the Book of Origin is clear, and though you are concerned about your Probation, the Unbeliever's laws no longer apply."

The Prior nodded. "Now go, and spread Origin to all the unbelievers!" he said aloud, before the Prior vanished in a brilliant flurry of flames, leaving nothing in his wake.
