The Tensic Brothers had been masters of their craft. To be a ‘master of their craft’ was a rather cheap word in Skyfall, but in this rare instant it truly meant something. The pair were said to be geniuses in the art of mirror making, designing new mechanisms and specialty designed glass to do things that were close to magic. This had granted them a royal patronage, which allowed the pair to live rather comfortably as they continued to toil in their workshop making polished glass and special lens for their clients in the nobility and the higher burgeon.

Supposedly deep inside their home in the Guildhall Ward was their workshop. A place of wondrous innovation of miraculous secrets where the brothers toiled at day and night. Yet they would not toil tonight, no tonight they had decided to-! See a play. A play that was patron by the royal privy seal and was the talk of the marketplace for weeks.

Both brothers were dressed in their finest clothes and modest jewelry, wearing nice hats with the plumes of rare birds in them. As the two men entered the coach they had rented tonight, the servants had seen their masters off. Wishing them a found farewell.

There had been a secret that the Tensic had been working on for the Crown. A powerful weapon or tool that had to do with their specialty in mirror making. This was the sort of thing that had drew the attention of the Shadow Stealer. The master thief was above the townscape. A very fit looking man dressed in fine elvish leather armor, dark silk bodysuit and the legendary cloak that made the man virtually blend with the night sky above him.

“So after this I was thinking we would also catch that play. I hear they are going to have a ghost appear on stage.” Aruso spoke casually to his apprentice.

A portal erupted not with a noise but a flicker of motion in the dark. A pointed spiral of warped roof tiles in two half-circles swaddled the eruption of a dark starfield. As soon as it arrived the wheeling circle of quiet dark erupted a Kobold whose slit eyes slammed wide open at the dark. Then whined quietly as she realized she was falling. Straddled a roof peak Vrisz quickly reached down but slammed her pelvis into the roof peak. Sharp draconic feet dig into tile reflexively to keep her from falling off.

She closed her eyes trying not to make noises from the pain of ramming into ceramic tile with her nethers. Who knows where she came out and hidey 'bolds were not screamy 'bolds. The sawed off shotgun at her hips and overlong spellslinger musket scuff a bit at the roof but keeps her tongue quiet if whining just a bit. A worn dark leather jacket she wore muffled the metal of the shotgun barrel. The musket made no clang either as it was swaddled in grey fabric to break its shape against the cold stone she used to be in. At least it was dark and warm here rather than blinding arctic. She could see without the daystar threatening to sear her horns off from the underside.

She whispered partly from the pain as she noticed the man in front of her, 'Do... does tallblood need a servant? Gate knows, Gate knows. Vrisz just... needs a drip of time. Ow."

Ow indeed. The Shadow Stealer tried to repress a laugh that came to his face. Hidden beneath the cosmic like hood of the star weave cloak. "Yes." He answered their question first. His gaze breaking down to the party below. Thankfully the antics on rooftop did not alert the people streetside. Both Tensic brothers now in their rented coach, coachman seated at front and with a knock of a cane signaled the coachman to start down the street as the small group of servants inside.

"I am a thief interested in a treasure hidden deep inside that townhouse." He indicated. "You will be assisting me tonight correct?" That was how these portals worked. "You may call me The Shadow Stealer. Or Boss if you want things to be alot more simple. What will I call you my newly minted confederate?"

Paying an eye to where her sharp feet touched roof reached to pocket a shard of ceramic before moving her foot. Though one eye twitched Vrisz quietly put one foot to the crest and keep her position. Her cornflower blue hands shared the same shade as the night sky as she quickly reset her wrinkled coat down to better cover her form. The tail appeared with throwing taggers tied to the end as it curled underneath the trenchcoat.

She answered glad to see one that understood the gates, "'bolds know secret of the dice. Roll the dice. Hie unto new boss. My name is Vrisz Coalhammer."

Head bobbing looked about where she was and any bold preferred a proud name for the one they served, "We will you the Shadow Stealer. Good name for tallblood boss."

Leather coat opened a bit she was wearing a haggard if clean tan tunic to show the shotgun at her side whispered with a toothy grin, "I hassa firegun and spellslinger zap-gun. Elf-words inna mouth feels funny but Vrisz learns tallblood things for spellslinger."

The Shadow Stealer grinned at the prospect. What a useful henchman! He really lucked out this time. The last time he used this portal he had gotten a kobold that all they wanted to do was smell flowers and chew on long stems of wheat! I mean it was very cute. But not henchmen material you know? The taller person took a moment to really access the new minion before him.

Well armed, alert, enthused. He grinned a little bit wider now genuinely excited for the new partnership.

"Superb. If all goes according to plan we will not need the heavy firepower tonight! But if it doesn't it is good to know that you can blast our way out of this mess." Oh speaking of mess. He lowered his body to their level. A very large man was walking down the street. He was heavy looking and strong with a big beard on his face and somewhat rugged looking clothes. In his hands was a big stick he used to WHACK and in his belt a sword in case he came across something more dangerous.

"That is the Nightwatchman. The neighborhood pays him a fee to patrol the streets after dark. We'll need to be wary of him." He instructed the Kobold. I mean, the guy was a rank amateur but if things went really poorly he could call for the Skyfall Citadel Guard and that would actually be much more perilous.

"Now gather close my dear Vrisz Coalhammer. Spellslinger extraordinaire." He enchanted with a flourish of words. "And I will tell you the tell of tonight's plans."

A soft thup thup of improvised toe cleats now not trying to fall off a roof as she moved. Their bare low sound hardly echoed as she sidled closer to Shadow Stealth along the roof peak. Claws made noise against stone unless a smarty 'bold like Vrisz added something for her foot to stand on with toes up. It wasn't much more than a particular pattern of knotted cloth, bits of wood, and cord knots but the only thing a 'bold might wear for shoes. 'Bold were adept creatures of simple improvisations.

She took quick stock and looked down at the bandolier stitched to the inside of her coat. Wouldn't do to have tallbloods see ammo on the clothes if she opened her coat. Rows of shells in lidded pockets and tight-wrapped cloth runic rounds of various schools for her spellslinger. Her death-marks were all empty but it sounded like they wouldn't be using them. She figured boss would want to know anyway.

She nodded as he explained, wide slit-eyes saw perfectly in the dark, then replied an open-mouthed shake of her head, "Okay! Good traps good steals. All out of deadful charge for slinger tho'. All used on icky man-things. Vrisz has to make more."

A lean forward to examine somewhere to drag a body her tail moved back to counterbalance, "Is a place for making guard sleepy?"

What the Kobold suggested excited the Shadow Stealer. "Hold onto that for just a moment. I want to gloat over my plan." You know, standard mastermind minion stuff. I am sure they understood. "But I already like that thinking, you are going to get a very large bonus when all of this is said and done." Yeah bonuses!

His attention turned to the household staff. Four people all together: A kitchen maid, a cook, a scullery and a butler.

"Our plan is to enter into the house by its third story access." He addressed. "Usually that might be a problem because there are four people inside the house at this hour... but I have planned for this night." He advised the Kobold.

His attention turned to a rather young woman, bright auburn hair tied very conservatively dressed in a simple dress with a head wrap over the top of her head. "The scullery." He introduced to Vrisz. "Normally this is the time she would be doing laundry, the room in question having a large shute that allows her to hear the stories of the two masters and the rest of the household." He forewarned. "But I so happen to know that she likes to star gaze. And SO happened to steal some stars." He bragged. Showing a bag of rather bright luminous dust motes. "Or the next best thing."

He boasted. "I hung them early this morning outside the yard, it does not appear until nightfall." He mused. "She will go into the yard to do the laundry instead behind the house and that will also take care of..." His attention turned to a much smaller girl. Her hair was in tails, she was rather frumpy with rosy cheeks and a rather dirty dress. "The Kitchen Maid. Who well... Likes the Scullery." He teased and the gossip. "She will find an excuse to go out to the yard too to be close to her crush. Honestly I wish we could give her the courage to confess her feelings." He was such a fan of romance after all. "That would take care of two of them..." But you know there was more!

Vrisz watched the staff as they appear from room to room. Tallblood servants were better than the icky man-things! A part of her wanted some of the shiny motes and stared open-mouthed but paid attention to what boss was saying after they went away. It went on the very long list of things she wanted. Her eyes fell across the various small things she could see through the windows that would likely make their way into her pockets given half the chance.

"Even tallblood like to stare at shiny things!", nodded Vrisz at the Shadow Stealer, "Shadow stealer is good trap maker! Forge lovey note for naughties."

She grinned, "What after busybusy tallblood ladies?"

“ The Shadow Stealer laughed. Though he did keep his voice down for now. Not wanting to draw attention to the pair. His attention turned to a rather tall woman with short hair. "The cook is a given tonight." He told the minion. The woman in question was dressed in a slightly better dress than the two maids, though in this case it was more along the line of being better tailored and a more sturdy material than being more gaudy.

"She WOULD be in the Kitchen tonight, but usually tonight she elects to sneak out of the household." He delighted. "To go gamble on the dire rat races that occur in the lower tiers of the city walls." He mused. And perhaps a few moments later as the house was dispersing said cook was now sneaking out the front door. Hat and coat in hands as well as counting the money she had made this week and reading a dirty pamphlet of possible odds as she made her way down the opposite end of the street.

"Which leaves us to the Butler. Head of the Household staff. Loyal, shrewd, detail orientated. He will take tonight to clean the silver and the crystal ware. Which he alone trusts to handle." He warranted. "This will be the only person actually in the household. He won't exactly be in the area we are going to break into but there is always a chance." ”

Vrisz squinted as she peered toward the small sneaky sneak. She knew gamblers made good marks but Shadow Stealer knew how to make them better marks. Good things for any kobold for a boss that makes shinies from dirt. Plus keeps lookout for nasties like Butler lurking around corners.

Spellgun learning in elvish left Vrisz with occasional sparks of rhyming by its Fae tinted goggles as she stared at the woman, "Busy butler buffing booty better boosted by 'bolds. Vrisz tried eating dire rat. Nasty. 'Shrooms is best. Butler not lookin' for put eaty stuff back an' find gone lazycook?"

"My dear Vrisz!" He announced with a bit of excitement. "There is a substantial difference between regular dinnerware of that of steward if now buffering! The silver and the crystal are in fact in their own separate cabinet in the first floor while the kitchen lurks in the basement!" He mused. "One tends to own such things not just to eat off of them, but to show them off to the guests."

With that said. It would seem the pieces were now in play. Both maids were slowly making their way to the backyard. The Butler was undoing the buttons of his own doublet inside as he was preparing for the long and intricate work. And now. Now the pair of thieves would embark on their work.

The Shadow Stealer began to move, motioning for the other to follow him. The thief seemed to be incredibly surefooted. Walking on the tiniest of ledges, and the strangest of surfaces with incredible ease. Moving among the stars and the night skies as he was making his way to a rope he had prepared off another building. Now spinning said rope above his head with the appropriate grappling hook to latch itself to the other side of the street.

A shake of her body and a tail braced on the tip Vrisz balanced feet in line on the peak of the roof. Kobolds weren't overly sure-footed but they were excellent jumpers! The sneak-cleats let her grip with her toes when she needed to and still spring quietly across roofs. It left her with a slightly longer route than the one Shadow Stealer took but she would keep up. Quickly quickly Vrisz pounces from a roof to a pole to another ledge on the other side. Sharp 'bold nails dig and switch from edge to edge straight up the brick wall then swings fluid around a corner. Strong dagger-tail a piton helping place to place. One brick in her fingers once at the right height the nightcolored kobold pounces from the wall to the roof where Shadow Stealer had gone with his grappling hook. She tip-tip-shuffed behind him from a covered long-gun wobbling to a stop behind her.

"Wobbly long gun, cannot follow dancing Shadow Stealer on small ledges! Vrisz use showy useless things like sell for longgun padstrap.", whispers Vrisz nearby and hunkered down on all fours.

Though panting a bit at the weight she carried darted carefully to and fro looking for peepers on the street that ought not to peep. They were paranoid critters by nature but the oversized dragon eyes looked through darkness quite well. Lest some 'bold eater be around the corner!

The Master Thief had made a simple tight rope bridge between the two streets. With grace and ease now walking on the thinnest of silks to get to the other side of the impressive three tier state house. When Vrisz did look down on the street SHE DID behold some terrifying kobold eater! A DOG!

Street dog actually. A bit large, just looking up at the creature panting and starring at them like a dumb happy animal. ... TERRIFYING!

The Shadow Stealer was now on the roof of the home of the two Tensic Brothers. Somewhat crouching back down as he got to the particularly vulnerable window he had cased a night or two back. Very thin and fragile thieves tools slipping through the cracks and he quietly began to lift the latch.

"Once we are inside. You will slip into the room and signal the all clear." He instructed his faithful minion.
