Darien is a somewhat robust man, who keeps himself in good shape even in his middle age. He often wears his black hair in an elongated, scraggly ponytail, and keeps a rough beard most of the time. He has a pronounced nose and somewhat bulbous cheekbones that betray his Indian blood. In casual attire he usually wears a pair of HUD glasses on his face as well as a labcoat over simple button down tees and khakis. He has been known to be a very snappy dresser at formal occasions.

When he is in his super-attire, he wears an elongated, pointed helmet with large fangs jutting down from the jaw that constantly drip a green poison. He wears a suit of balistic armor over a dark grey carbon fiber under-suit. From his helmet come two thick metal tubes that attach to two gauntlets he wears over gloved hands. These gauntlets each have to retractable blades that are coated with the same potent neurotoxin generated in Darien's reserves. His suit is also covered with a variety of acid-green LED lights and indicators.

Darien heard the barking orders of some gung-ho meta over the headset in his armor as he cruised along the central boulevard of Wing City. This type of thing was supposed to have been a thing of the past, but it seemed as though Terra still had the capacity for unleashing sudden, wanton destruction. All the more reason in his mind to make sure everyone was properly equipped to defend themselves.

"Wilco Hotshot, this is Asp. Seems we're on the same frequency, might as well make a day of it. I'm going to head to the power station and get emergency power back on the grid." he called into his headset. With a sharp hissing noise, his magnetic levitation unit propelled him rapidly along the ground as he stood upright in thin air.

As he drew close to the power sub station he grimaced inside of his helmet. The mechanical prognosis was grim, but he believed with a few minutes things could be working again. Once the city had power, its automatic repair functions would go a long way towards putting things back together...

At least there was someone else who survived this chaos. "Happy to hear someone is on my side." Adair muttered only to turn his com link back on and began to move through the city streets to look for survivors. "Asp you get right on that and let me know if you see any civilians running around. From what my readings are showing me there are a few heat signatures that are not from the fires and shit that those things created." With a large leap Adair was now skyward and looking down at the city bellow only to frown as he only spotted a few more survivors.

"I repeat is there anyone out there who will be coming to aid in this situation! Assistance would be very vital for any salvation efforts." He suddenly landed and aloud the message to play on loop on all channels whilst he continued to search for more survivors.

As the next call went out, a rather disturbed and somewhat irritated voice came onto the comm "Is there a reason why you are screaming into the communication device?" It held a moderate french accent to it and sounded as if it had been woken up from a nap "Why are you screaming...ohh hold on" The voice said and clicked off and disappeared.

As it did, a thin and tanned woman appeared behind the mechanized man and tapped his shoulder. She wore the gear of a specialized soldier accompanied by a pair of mirrored sunglasses on her face while tapping her heeled boot several times. Physically, she was gorgeous to the eye and well toned, despite her attitude needing some work. Before long, she looked out towards the destroyed section of the city and shook her head a little "Well...now I see why..." She said before running her fingers through her hair "Well...what happened?" She asked the large man, somewhat waking up.

Sparks had been sort of busy that he barely noticed the giant monster. Now, what could possibly distract him so much he barely noticed it?

Well, for one, he was in the Wing City Bank, having his "father" take out 1 million dollars in money he stole from Children's charities. Of course, Sparks wasn't going to give the money back, he needed, or at least wanted, this money for himself. But at least the man who stole it would suffer.

He kept his hand on the man's arm, and send a minor jolt to remind him of what he could do if he ever tried anything. Once the money was transferred over to his accounts and a good portion in cash in a briefcase in his hand, he walked them both out.

"Now, you will walk to the edge of the city, use this gun, put a bullet in your foot, and then walk to the police station and admit your crimes. You will not do anything else until this is done". The man started to walk away with the gun, crying. Sparks simply smiled, and left the bank. As he turned the corner, he found a trail of destruction that was being rebuilt quickly, and quite a few civilian bodies on the ground, as well as two men who looked like they were doing something.

One of the survivors came over to him, so he put his hand on her shoulder. "Listen, okay, you are going to be alright. So just calm down, call your relatives and friends, and tell them you are okay. Okay? Now, go run to a phone and do that".

She left, calming down as she went for a phone. A large piece of building started to fall off, and a brick fell straight towards his head, so he quickly hit it with a massive lightning bolt.

"Christ almighty..." Darien sighed as he shoved a twisted girder off of the final tesla coil of the power station. Of all the features he could have built into his armor, augmented strength wasn't one of them. Maybe it was time for an upgrade? With a clapping of hands, he dusted himself off and hit the final breaker, the power station surging back to life. He held a hand up to his helmet, gleaming in the light of distant fires, and called out on the support channel.

"Alright, emergency power is back on so the city's automatice repair service will start cycling. I don't see the repair drones flying though so I'm going to go check on the communications hub. Asp out." he called.

Toggling a small button on his wrist, his suit once again began to hiss as he levitated towards his next destination. A lump was caught in his throat as he viewed all the strewn corpses in the streets. If only they had been able to defend themselves...with a grunt he accelerated onwards.

A few more families, some almost decimated by the chaos and even fewer who were left unscathed, made it out of the rubble and Adair got them to safety whilst his emergency signal continued to play in the background. "Two very large fucking lizards tore through this place like a bad joke. I was lucky to be coming back into town when this mess started." Adair grunted a bit only to move through the streets a bit more allowing his suit to scan the area around himself in search of more survivors.

"Well then...thats nothing new for this city isnt it? So what is the game today eh? Search and rescue?" She asked over the comm, looking out at the damage and surveying the landscape around her with a truly uncaring look on her face "I wonder what the city will pay if I helped" She spoke outloud over the comm before shrugging and vanishing from sight and reappearing where Adair was and yawned a little "Sheesh your a tall one arent you?" She asked him, looking above his head as well as looking directly into his armor plating

She then turned around and gazed towards the bank and some of the other residential buildings "Anywhere I should check? Also is there a communication channel I should turn to? I am still very new to this place and frankly I am very lost..." She said, taking out a cigarette and her lighter, pulling on her lite death stick with a sigh.

Sparks just looked at this with disbelief. "WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED WHILE I WAS IN THAT BANK!?!?!?!?" he noted, grapsing the fact two monsters had attacked the city while he was in the highly secure and highly stable bank. It had taken him awhile to realize what had happened, and he was now processing everything. He also heard a very strange noise, and went to investigate.

When he did, he found a very large egg. Not just large, but massive. "Uhh, this is someone's science project, right?"

He really hoped it wasn't a giant monster egg. Maybe it was a T-Rex egg instead, or a raptor. OF course, that would end badly. But it would still be cool.

There was also the chance it was fake.

Darien alighted on the top of the central district's drone hangar. The communications system looked intact. but from the looks of it, a giant boulder from the rock giant had smashed and jammed the hangar door shut. He let out a sigh and called into the comms. "Hey, I need a debris removal over on the central drone hangar? These repairs could be done by tomorrow if these guys get out."

In the meantime, Darien pulled up footage of the fight from where he had been observing it along the far shore of the river. These two monsters...they weren't just mindless juggernauts. There was a purpose...almost a ceremony to the way they treated each other. Was it mating? Unlikely. Competition? That seemed like the logical explanation given the fact that they left each other alive...still...it worried Darien that this might happen again at some point. Maybe not in the same place, but maybe in an even more vulnerable area.

"Let me know if you get those doors open. In the mean time I'm going to help the guard set up a triage station. Over." he shouted above the sound of distant rumblings and sirens.

Adair heard the call and looked at the minimap his suit pulled up just to then look down at the rather attractive woman who stood beside him. "If you want check those buildings over there. I am going to go help remove whatever it is that is blocking the drones from getting out." the armored man simply began to take several steps forward before stopping and turning around to look at Rogueshadow. "Use channel four, seems we are all using it as is, channel 5 is what I have broadcasting on repeat. Also call me Iron Knight." With that said Adair was off in a few steps and several leaps through the air and on his way to the situation at hand.
A few moments after he arrived it only took a few easy pushes to move the bolder a bit so that the door came flying open allowing the host of drones to get to work.

"I cleared the blockage but it appears that right along with the city there were heavy damages. Also how are things looking on your end down there?"

Rougeshadow just shrugged gently and tapped her comm device and set it to channel four "Thank you Iron Knight..." As she said this, a giggle was heard. To those in the channel, all they could hear was an accent french woman's voice. With a sigh, she vanished into the buildings and began her search "Anyone know what happened? I am so confused...I went down for a nap..and I awoke to a blaringly loud call on the comm device saying the city is in ruins" She said as she quickly searched through the houses and buildings "No one here...alive anyway" She said and vanished, reappearing next to Adair with a shrug

"So who exactly are you with? And why are you in that heavy armor for anyhow?" She asked the man, not touching him but took an idle look at his armor. She was making sure she had no eye contact with anything with chrome that might so a reflection of her eyes. Her mirrored glasses helped with this as she took another pull on her cigarette.

The following morning, Darien stood up from the bed of a homeless man he had been tending to all night. Not that he was a medical doctor, but genetic engineering required a basic understanding of medicine, or, at the very least, how to take living things apart and put them back together again. Having long since ditched his helmet and power gauntlets, he wiped his sweaty brow and sipped at the lukewarm coffee that had been sitting next to his examination tools for the past four hours.

Now that the smoke was clearing and the sun was shining, the situation seemed less dire, and looking around, the damage from the fight had almost nearly been completely repaired. Obviously, automated repair systems for a city like Wing City were probably the wisest expenditure any city planning board could have made...but somehow it made the cost of life seem...trivial. With a sigh, finished off the rest of the bitter drink and took a seat.

The emergency response teams had done a good job of rounding up injured citizens from the crisis zone. Nearly twenty five blocks had been decimated in the fight, and partial damages extended almost all throughout the city. It wasn't like the nuclear attacks of three years ago...but it was enough to bring back painful memories.

Darien looked down at his patient, who though injured, was at least stable, and wondered...

...this man was homeless. Helpless...maybe no one would notice if he disappeared for an hour or two...especially with all the other refugees milling around. He was healthy enough. At least healthy enough to endure his latest test series...

With a screech of tires, the out of control Hover-Truck careened around a busy corner onto Hagan avenue, crashing into a merging hover bike and sending the driver flying through a plate glass window. With the Kaiju attack on the city just thirteen hours prior, the city streets were relatively clear of traffic, allowing the whining engine of the truck to hit almost seventy miles an hour before clipping the curb and tumbling onto its side in a screeching shower of sparks.

A moment passed as wary pedestrians looked on, before scattering in every direction. There seemed to be a bright glowing light in the cabin of the truck, and this sort of thing only meant bad news in Wing City. From the truck emerged what appeared to be a middle-aged man in a baseball cap, denim jeans and a button-down flannel shirt. The catch was that his skin seemed to be glowing a bright golden hue, and he seemed to be slowly disintegrating. As the glowing man caught his bearing, there came a hissing sound as Professor Asp rocked around the same corner the truck had emerged from, his poison dart blasters armed and loaded.

"Listen Hogan!" he called out, his voice modulated by the gleaming suit of powered armor he was wearing.

"You don't need to do this! You can be more than just an instrument of greed!" Asp shouted out. The glowing man, Hogan, did not seem pleased and drove a glowing fist into the engine of the truck. A moment later, the vehicle exploded in a shower of molten metal. The man's body was also torn to shreds, but standing in its place was a glowing, ethereal spectre with a long, whispy beard and sullen eyes.

"You turned me into this you devil! I'll see fit to end my wretched existence any way I can!" the spectre screamed before flying through a nearby shop window. Screams emanated from within, and when Prof. Asp floated his way up to the window, he saw what he feared. Hogan, the homeless man, was now possessing another hapless citizen, the shopkeep. The startled woman had a glazed look of fear on her face as Hogan slowly merged his energized form with her body, causing her flesh to begin to flake and boil.

"Don't!" Asp screamed, kicking down the glass window and training his dart launcher on the now-glowing woman. He didn't dare fire, though. If he could coax or force Hogan out of the woman's body somehow, she may be able to survive the searing effects of being controlled by him...

One of the pedestrians didn't scatter with the rest, though, even though the truck landed mere feet away from where she stood. Instead she trailed her eyes over the entire scene, resting on the suited man then following his gaze into the shop. A frown tugged at the edges of her lips and she casually began to stroll towards the store entrance, her posture unassuming. She gently pushed the door in and her eyes fell upon the golden glow, frown deepening slightly. "I see we've found ourselves in a mess, haven't we?" she questioned with a steady, calm voice. "Shall we talk it over?" Her gaze went between both figures involved, obviously directed her statements to both of them.

It was once again that the Iron Knight watched the scene before his very eyes and with a running start and an impressive leap from the rooftop of the 10th story all the way down to the ground floor and onto the concrete sidewalk that cushioned his fall. Adair Foux grimaced slightly as he looked upon the floating Prof. Asp and someone new and rather insane from the looks of things as she simply approached the situation with a calm that most other civilians did not have. This woman was one of several things and Adair was certain that sanity was not on her top priority list.

"Miss, please get out of there, I am not sure about you but I do not think that negotiations are going to be well received here." The Iron Knight looked between the three that were before him but looked at the professor and began to wonder what his story was in comparison to this meta human.

Darien looked behind him to see the other vigilante from last night approaching the scene along with some random by stander. He grimaced in his helmet and waved his hand in a dismissive manner. This was the last thing he had hoped to happen.

"Listen! This situation is more dangerous than you know! He's-" Darien said, but was interrupted by a shrill scream. He whipped back around to see that Hogun had released control of the woman he had been possessing and was currently trying to slip up through the ceiling, his incorporeal form leaving burn marks as he passed through the solid matter.

"Dammit! I can't lose him!" Darien shouted before floating back out of the shop and rising up to the upper floors, trying to spot where the maniacal hobo had slipped off to.

The woman barely glanced at the other suited man to approach, her attention obviously taken up mostly by the glowing aura. "I'm a therapist. You'd be surprised the things I've solved with mere conversation," she mumbled, grimacing as the glow shot up and away. She sprinted to the woman's form and surveyed her without touching before staring up and lifting off the ground. In a single motion she pushed her hands up through the ceiling and pushed aside everything enough for her to fly up through. She spun around, eyes taking in everything quickly as she also began to track the golden form via the burn marks. Obviously, by the first suited man's demeanor, time was of the absolute essence.

"A therapist, well I'll be damned, there is a profession I have not heard of in awhile." Adair muttered to himself as he watched the other two move after the glowing figure that shot itself straight through the ceiling of the building. With a few steps outside and with relative ease the young hero leaped into action jumping high up into the air after the two in hopes of catching a glimpse of what was going on.

Darien didn't have time for small talk. He finally spotted the vagrant, ethereal man on the sixth floor, trying to rifle through somebody's belongings for valuables and the like. Unfortunately, his ethereal hands simply burned whatever they touched, so his frustration was quite audible. What was also audible was the repetitive thumping sound as Copy Cat smashed her way up through the building. As she too emerged on to the sixth floor, Hogun reared around and snarled at her.

"Watch out!" Darien shouted. He aimed his dart launcher at Hogun and fired, but the razor sharp syringes flew straight through his ghostly form. With a loud roar, the homeless ghost surged towards Copy Cat, threatening to try and take over her body...

Copy Cat flew up and landed on the floor, finally sighing as her eyes landed upon her goal. Her frown tugged up slightly as he turned to meet her. And she didn't even pay attention to the man with dart guns, instead slowly opening her arms as if in embrace. "That's right, come here," she called softly, waiting for the moment his ethereal energy came in contact with her. In that instant, her own body burst forth with golden energy and a catty grin spread across her face as she moved to grab onto him with the hope that a matching energy signature might be able to interact with him. "Hold still!" she commanded.

Adair leaped a bit higher and grabbed onto a ledge only to pull himself up and watch the exchange that happened in mere seconds. This woman was very much the same as the others but extremely different from abilities and powers. "This is not good." the Iron Knight muttered as he forced his way onto the floor from the outside and held his ground watching what appeared to now be a power struggle.

"Wait! You don't-" Darien shouted as Hogun tried to merge with the woman. He was somewhat shocked, however, to see her somehow grasping his ethereal form as if it was tangible, then beginning to glow with power herself. Granted, the carpet under her feet began to catch on fire, but for the moment, Hogun was reigned in.

"Uh..." Darien said, opening the window from the outside and landing softly in the room. "Be careful..." Darien said softly, disarming his dart launcher and holding his hands up in a non-threatening gesture.

"Gerroff 'o me ya slimy witch!" Hogun howled, trying to slam his burning, ghostly fists into Copy Cat's face. He seemed to be having trouble moving, though, and his blows seemed limp and softened.

Copy Cat scoffed and pulled back slightly, using one hand to catch his fist and staring directly into his incorporeal eyes. "Calm down! Calm. Down. I feel your anger and pain, but this isn't fruitful," she stated carefully and forcefully. She began to pant a little, her arms shaking and her eyes alight with anger as well. She quickly glanced at the other two before settling on the first man she'd noticed. "You. Do you have the power to undo this?" she asked, swallowing hard. "Or did you have no plan?" It almost came out as a hiss.

Darien didn't like the fact that all of the attention was on himself, suddenly. This was not how things were supposed to go. He turned and looked over his shoulder at the other armored man, then back at the other two grappling metahumans. It was almost enough to make him doubt in his fervent life mission. Almost.

"I apologize for nothing! This man was nobody, a dreg. Cast aside by society and forgotten! Look! See how I have made him matter!" Darien shouted, flinging his hand towards the now perplexed and dour Hogun.

"All citizens of the realms should have access to this kind of power. All of them should be able to sleep safely at night, knowing that when the time comes, they can defend themselves. Because it will!" Professor Asp shouted, his voice modulation making his shouts a garbled roar.

There was a moment of silence as Darien debated what to do. He knew that the fall into becoming a super villain was started with an easy slip. He musn't lose hold of his ethics...

With a sigh, he continued.

"Yes, I can reverse the-" he was cut off as sirens blared from below. A man shouted on a loud speaker. WCPD, obviously.

"Freeze! All of you stay where you are! We have the building surrounded and are prepared to take lethal measures!" the officer shouted. Hogun grew wide eyed and thrashed and screamed.

"NO! NOOOOO! I won't go back to the big house! No!" he said, finally thrashing free of Copy Cat's grip. With a roar, he surged towards Darien. The last thing he remembered was a flash of fire that felt like it was in his head. Externally though, there came a hissing noise as the metals of Professor Asp's suit heated up. In the next instant, there came a clicking whir as Asp's poison dart launchers were armed and pointed at Copy Cat and Iron Knight.

Kchakkchakkchakkchak

A quick salvo was fired at both of them before Asp rocketed past Iron Knight, drawing fire from the police below...
