Equipment

Offense

A blade that is a gift from Maleficus. This blade wards off the Divine. Those who make direct contact with it have all good stripped from their being for as long as they hold it, leaving them a heartless, evil person. The person has their evil attributes strengthened, can see Maleficus' aura and energies clearly, can see the undead, can see beings which only exist within Maleficus' realm and can persuade them to do their bidding.

If stabbed then the victim suffers. The pain of wounds created by it grows and grows, becoming unbearable. The person bleeds profusely, and eventually tendrils begin to worm their way out of the wound. If left untreated, Hellspawn drones(think black flood parasites) will continue to grow in number, eating away at the person until they are completely taken over and become a mutated, contorted, Hellspawn.

With the death of Maleficus, the blade no longer has this ability. Instead, it cause a wound in which the pain grows and never leaves, even after healing, and the wound is sure to become infected.

Scythe: On it's own, his lowest level of attack. Just your basic scythe, though he is highly skilled in using it to it's fullest capabilities.

Magic: One his most basic magical attacks, Rahal sticks to the four elements he is best with: Fire, Ice, Electricity and Stone.

Thus, he may use fireballs and lightning strikes. He is also prone to using ice needles and encompassing someone in stone.

Rahal is prone to combining his scythe (which he uses as a focus) and his magic. He has the ability to change the scythe blade from it's standard red blade to one rimmed in magic, which each magic a different color. This causes damage related to that element, along with the regular damage thanks to his scythe.

Fire
The scythe is rimmed with a red glow in this state. Fire spreads at the touch of the blade. Especially effective against organic beings.

Ice
The scythe is rimmed with a white glow in this state. Whatever the blade touches is frozen. It has the disadvantage of not remaining frozen long.

Electricity
The scythe is rimmed with a yellow glow in this state. The blade is electrically charged and can transfer that charge by touch, electrocuting whoever it touches. Especially effective against machines.

Flora
The scythe is rimmed in a green glow at this state. Anything the blade touches experiences a rapid growth of ivy and other resilient weeds.

Death
The scythe is rimmed in a black glow in this state. Anything the blade touches is aged twenty years with each cut.

He also has a second attack of a slightly higher level. This one utilizes his ability to rapidly change between the elements. Known as Omni-Slash, this attack consists of magically enhance, rapid slashes with his scythe, each incorporating a different element. The elements occur, without fail, in the following order: ice, fire, earth, grass, electric, wind, fire, stone.

Boiling Blood

This attack is a rather simple one, as far as Rahal is concerned. Learned from his adoptive father, it is exactly how it sounds. Rahal tends to use this briefly on those who annoy him, as it mostly causes pain, though if held on long enough, it can obviously cause death.

Transmorgify
Transforms whoever it is cast on into a frog or a beagle pup for two days, machines immune.

Lava Flow
A superheated burst of fire that can melt most metal, and can easily melt bones as well.

Incubus Charm
Convinces his enemies that he is their lover and that they would willing die for him, if he asked, or fight against their teammates. Can be broken by those of strong will power.

Tentacles
A rather odd attack, Rahal calls up a host of tentacles made of chaos magic to attempt to ensnare his foe. They are warm, and prolonged contact will cause burns.

Optical Illusion
Similar to patterns found online, this illusion is hypnotizing and difficult to look away from. Once the gaze is broken however, it can be hard to aim or focus, as the pattern of the illusion effects all you see for two turns,

Acid Cloud
A cloud made of acid contained in a simple mason jar. Rahal opens the lid and the cloud billows out traveling slowly, after the initial release, which extends twenty feet. This is highly corrosive to organic matter. It is a misty green.

Poison Cloud

Similar to the acid cloud, but poisonous, this induces nausea and fainting, and causes diarrhea as well. Colorless and odorless, it may take a few turns to take effects.

Devastation

This attack can take anywhere between 3-7 or more turns to prepare. If interrupted, it will go off immediately, though it requires being able to cut through the magic to be able to do so. Each turn that is taken to charge extend the radius of the attack by .72 miles, making the seven turn attack having a radius of five miles and a diameter of ten.

Rahal has only used this attack twice before. Once in training, to proof he could. He released this one after seven turns of prep, as he could feel his iron control on it slipping. The second was interrupted at the third turn of prep, and he discovered that, if he hasn't pushed himself too fair, he is able to pour one final burst of energy into the attack, thought the energy will come almost entirely from than his reserves. It creates the equivalent of a magical H-bomb going off, leaving a shallow (1m) crater in all directions and what appears to be a mushroom cloud of exploded magic.

After this attack, Rahal, though he may or may not remain conscious for a few moments, Rahal is unable to move, remains collapsed on the ground where he stands. In fact, he and a column straight above him are the only non-effected areas of the spell.

This attack literally consumes the magic in the effected area, leaving it barren of ambient magic for six turns. Thus ambient magic users can not cast, while internal magic users can, though they may find it is harder to do so, and their spells may not last as long.

Defense

Rahal can create a shield that can take up to 500 lbs physical force before breaking. He can also create a shield that can handle all but the highest of magical attacks, and a variety of shields that can prevent contaminates from reaching him such as poisonous gasses and such. Unfortunately, he seriously struggles when it comes to combining his shields.

Twin Fire Swords
When knocked unconscious, or unable to defend himself, Rahal is equipped with twin curved blades made of fire that automatically engage to protect him. They move without his consent and have in them the sword wielding ability of a master swordsman.

Animated Scythe
When knocked unconscious, or unable to defend himself, Rahal's Scythe changes from a normal Scythe, to one that automatically defends him.

Teleportation
Recently learned, when Rahal wraps his magic around himself, he the ability to travel along 'roads' of magic and teleport himself to another location almost instantly.

Fortifications

Rahal's robes can deflect most blade damage and projectile damage.

He tends to increase his speed, endurance, and strength while battles.

History

There is an old house set back from the road. A tall wrought iron fence and intimidating gate block the drive. To set foot on the lawn is to invite your own death by trap, and to ring the doorbell is to ask to be slaughtered. There used to be a truly evil family there, whom the gods themselves had cursed. A husband and wives who struck fear into all who saw them, and seven children, ranging in age from seven all the way up the twenty. These children were raised to hate and destroy, to only cause pain and to kill all who crossed their path.

When the youngest child, a boy, turned five he snuck out of the grounds and met another boy about his age. All too happy, the two got to talking and the youngest boy realized how sick and twisted his family was. The years passed and as the boy turned seven he realized that his family was evil and must be destroyed.

So the boy lived up to the ways his parents raised him in. In the middle of the night, silently and using all his stealth, the boy killed first his parents, then all but two of his siblings. His eldest brother, who had honor if blood thirst, he left alive. And his youngest sister, all of nine, he left in their brothers care. The elder brother spirited her in the night so she wouldn't awake to such a a sight, and the young boy, hands bloody, left the house for the streets.

On the streets the young murderer met a fellow murderer. A vampire by the name of Taro. Truly sadistic, the vampire mage took one look at the boy and grinned, taking him in. After hearing his story, he decided not to eat the runt. Instead he took him, introduced him to the family and begin to teach him magic.

When asked what they should call him, the boy looked around at them, and, wanting to leave his past behind, told them his name was Tyrannius. But they could call him Ty. So the youngest boy of the evil family was no longer a hooded figure learning to kill. He became a happy mage's apprentice, bouncing back from the horrors of his early life with all the resilience of a child.

Easily, the boy mastered most of the elements, though he struggled with creating grass. That would come when he was thirteen and exploring the Multiverse. A kind wave master taught him how and gave him a warning. Down that path lied forbidden, life creating magic.

And so, Death continued his training, slowly gaining finer and finer control. Shortly after an unfortunate mishap with an aging spell, Ty was pulled out of the normal time stream by his mentor's father. The God taught him many things, including the creation of life, and a fine control that would astonish everyone. He intended the boy join his pantheon as a God of magic one day.

Unfortunately, this was not to be. When Ty returned to Earth to take his Masters test, he passed with high flying colors. This was not to be celebrated, as the mage's council, distressed, put severe limiters on the now 23 year old's magic, limiting him to basic healing and element crafting. He would be unable to air walk, to transform an object from one thing to another, or a great many things. He wouldn't even be able to call the elements to him anymore.

Horrified by the shackles put on him to suppress his magic to such an extent, the mage vowed to one day remove them, and destroy them all. To that end, the once playful boy became a very angry and bitter man. One day, one day. He would have his revenge.

Rahal's Magic System

First Order: Element calling and shaping.
Second Order: Healing
Third Order: Weapon creation
Fourth Order: Illusions
Fifth Order: Psionics
Sixth Order: Blood magic
Seventh Order: Conjuring/Summoning
Eighth Order: Death magics (Necromancy, etc)
Ninth Order: Life

Ty had progressed all the way to the ninth Order of Magic, only to have to ripped away from him. Cast down all the way to the Second Order when he passed his Masters.

Thanks to sheer will on one manacle, and an attack that cause him to expend the majority of his magic to free himself from the manacle so he could defend himself, Ty is now free of those evil things.

However, he is not free yet. He was approached while relaxing with the love of his life by a mysterious woman and entrusted with an artifact of great power, the Orb of Restoration. This powerful healing artifact was sought by a groupd of people known as the Orsa Terminus, and he joined in with the woman as a Patrons Guardian, keepign the Orb safe.

As he and his nemesis, Maleficus opposed each other, Ty continued on in the path life had set for him, loving a Priestess, however forbidden it may be, and protecting his 'marble' with occasional ease.

Then he was captured.

Captured by a great machine known at Krycis, cementing his dislike of machines everywhere. Now, his survival instincts kicked in on full gear and he agreed to spy on the Patronus for Krycis.

Released, and now a double spy, Ty began to seriously struggle. His mentor, the man he hero-worshipped for rescuing him, disapproved of his forbidden relationship with the priestess, pointing out that he was born of evil, raised of evil, taught in evil, and even used Chaos magic. Eventually he wouldn't even be able to stand her touch! So he should end it now.

Along with this came the loss of his hand, a price paid to keep his life and his cover. The hand was now made entirely of Chaos magic, and had to remain covered ina glove made from human skin. The corruption his magic was causing began to set in rapidly, no doubt accelerated by Maleficus tag on him.

He broke away from the group of Patronus he fought with for their safety and alone now, begin to struggle in earnest, until he declared he could no longer handle protecting the orb. Unable to seek an audience with the woman who recruited him, the mage sought a new Guardian on his own, and chose the former Guardian Whisper.

It would prove to be a poor choice indeed, as the very next day, Whisper killed Dallas. She had been subverted some time ago. Unbeknownst to the Patronus.

Ty lost it! How dare she! How dare she every even hurt Dallas! Already teetering on the edge, Ty fell entirely and began Rahal.

It was Rahal who, as his first act, attacked Whisper with the intent to kill, unleashing his ultimate attack on her to kill her. And it was Rahal who, 'rescued' from those who sought to capture him when he was weak byt Maleficus, allowed the demon to do what he would with him.

Now, he was transformed, through intense pain and the demon diety's spells, into Rahal in truth. More powerful, and less driven by emotions, he listens only to Maleficus, and even then, he listens none-too-well.

But this state did not last long. No, unbeknown to him, the mage's lady love was alive once more, having not truly been dead. she discovered what has happened and managed to capture him in a moment of weakness. As he lay unconscious she and Taima, her guard, begin a ritual to purify his mind.

It succeeded, and though he is still hard hearted at times, he can now once more handle the touch of holy items. The corruption from both his own magic and Maleficus' was gone.

Time has passed. Rahal has a familiar now, and a student. He has an off and on lover, and lived free from the missing Maleficus for some time. But then, Maleficus returned in a new form, and forced his servant through yet another baptism of fire.

So begins...

She was the first to arrive, just ahead of Taima, andset herself busy clearing a space on the floor free of debris large enough for them to rest the body of her- former- love. She could feel the energy in him, however weak it was, telling her that he was still alive, if only barely. She was scared and angry, and paced back and forth, growing frustration at having little she was able to do. Quite the wreck, actually.

Taima moved to lay Ty down as she moved back to give Dallas room to work. Despite her divine abilities, healing was something she was not capable of doing. Her expression was troubled though as she watched on.

Ty D Anusib twitched on the ground where he lay, just before a shiver wracked down his body starting at his head and making it's way all the way down to his toes. Following the path of the shiver was a layer of muscle, bulking the formerly thin and scrawny mage up.

Lips parted, though no sound escaped, it was clear the mage's body was still in immense pain, as he form began to change, hair darkening to black.

Dallas Reiger made no move toward Ty, except to kneel at his side, looking quite helpless at the moment. Knowing Taima would find the inaction strange, she looked up to her companion and offered explination. "The magic he has grown into, from his mentor...it does him just as much harm for me to try to heal him. And I've no idea what Maleficus has infected him with..." She was near tears, not knowing at all what to do. But then, she could not simply siit by and watch his suffering. She removed the pouch from her belt and dumped its contents, starting by grabbing a small vial of holy water. "Taima, set up some candles. Perhaps we can exorcise the evil from him." It might not stop the transformation, but they might be able to banish the corruption from his mind. A stream of soft words escaped her lips as she knelt over him, slowly building an aura of white around herself as her prayers were sent forth.

Taima did as she was asked without question as the candles were placed quickly. It was unlikely they had much time to work with. She would move to Ty's other side to offer her own prayers forth. She couldn't heal, but from what Dallas said healing wasn't what they needed.

Ty D Anusib 's hair broke free of it's convinces and he arched, coming to consciousness with a heat rending scream. To weak from the pain to move, and not at all recovered, the mage began to toss weakly, fighting to power of the prayers as he mind twisted and warped. He was becoming, steadily, Rahal.

Her prayers continued, joined with Taima's they charged the whole room with their resonance. She opened the vial and poured half the water onto his forehead, the other half on the center of chest. She wasn't concerned about the rest of him- her Ty wasn't appearances and magic...she wished only to salvage his heart and his mind from being rended by Maleficus's wickedness. She didn't even open her eyes to watch their progress...if her faith was to be strong enough to save him, she had to focus...

Taima pulled forth a pinch of silver powder from her pouch that she cast over the mage before she fell into an almost trance as her own prayers uttered forth, her head bowed low. Why did Taima prayed to a dead god was uncertain, but one thing the dragonborn could not be accused of was lack of faith and her words though little more than guttural growls in an ancient draconic dialect were powerful and charged with divinity.

An aura of divine energy began to build around Taima herself adding strength to Dallas' efforts as they pooled their reserves. Her words were of protection and strength. Not healing, but rather seeking to build a barrier around Ty's mind against the encroaching darkness.

The spell was initially designed for dealing with mind effecting abilities, but her prayers molded it and gave it new strength and new purpose, to try and salvage the Ty they knew, despite what horrors may be inflicted upon his body.

Rahal screamed louder at the splash of the holy water, burns appearing where it hit. His allergy however, would be his saving grace, and the aura of corruption began to slowly lift from his mind and body.

A malicious cloud rose from him. It was a deep purple and appeared to have almost the form of a babe, still in the womb, in it. It was clear Maleficus had intended to recreate Ty to his own purpose. The marks from the holy water continued to burn, though they were fading as the hastily crafted ritual went on. It appeared that the ritual was healing more than just the damage caused by Maleficus.

As Taima's prayers worked as well, the mage's eyes snapped open, an eerie pupiless red, but not filled with the hate or insanity they had been. Not filled with the sheer limitless grief he had experienced any more.

He was awake. Changed but awake and aware, if weak. Very weak.

She dare not cease the prayers, not yet. But she did peek an eye open at the events unfolding before her. She watched with bated breath as she saw his eyes open....she could not yet be certain that their efforts had worked. However, her prayers slowed somewhat in their haste, curiosity getting the better of her as she watched him, hoping against hope that good had triumphed over evil once again.

Taima kept her head down, rather than abating as Dallas' were Taima's were gaining in strength and fervor. She was not yet done. She couldn't risk whatever taint Maleficus had placed over Ty from undoing their work through other means of slow taint and corruption if any still remained.

Her prayers guided her spell and molded it to it's new purpose as it began to strengthen around Ty's mind to ward it against encroaching corruption and darkness. It could not ward against evil of Ty's own doing or choice, but the spell would attempt to ward against outside influence and prevent any lingering darkness from accessing or twisting it further.

She moved to lay her hand over his forehead as a rune began to form. She would have liked to have drawn it ahead of time, to have a visual reference when forming it, but with her mind clear and her prayers focused the rune began to glow into existence strong and well formed as she placed the seal.

Only now would her prayers diminish as she rested there. She could do little for what damage may have already been done, and free will was his own, it would merely work to ward against further evil accessing his mind. All they could do now is wait and see.

The rune would fade rapidly until it was gone, though the effects of the seal would linger keeping her spell in place.

Rahal sat up slowly, uncertainly. He hurt. But it was fading, as if he had merely worked himself too hard. He moved gingerly, careful not to disturb a thing. "Dallas? Are you...real?" It was hard to believe. Almost impossible. But she was there.

And if she was there then... "Oh Ra. I killed Whisper for no reason." Not if Dallas still lived. "By Ra, what have I done?" He could feel the seal, protecting his mind and looked to Taima. "I. I'm."

It was the work of a moment for the mage, who no matter how weak was still a mage, to perform a scan on himself. "I'm untainted. I don't even have his touch in my mind." "I'm free." Freedom. He hadn't had in in ages.

Exhausted still, the mage looks at the two. "Thank you." He murmurs, unable to portray it adequately. This unfamiliar body was his own, changed and twisted, made entirely of the darkest of evil, but no longer could he feel the effects of that evil in his once ravaged mind. A tear, or sheer joy, slid down his cheek.

Free. He was free.

A silence fell over the room after Ty spoke, and lasted for moments. Speechless, the woman whos words were her livelihood and the core of her being, struck dumb by the awe of what she was witnessing. A war waged in her mind, the joy of hearing her love announce his own freedom, tempered with a great distrust for all things even brushed by the touch of evil. Tricky, they were, and apt liars. However, Taima's seal gave her confidence, and she leaned over him, putting her face in his line of vision. "Ty? I'm just as real as you are..." A faint smile crossed her face as her fingers sought to entwine with his. After a beat, she registered the rest of his words. "Whisper...you killed her?" She tried her very best not to seem disappointed at that news, knowing it was vengeance for her that had driven him to such a thing. A vengeance she would likely have felt for Maleficus had their spells and prayers failed them. She placed a sweet kiss on his forehead, words again escaping her in this moment.

Taima took in the news of Whisper's death without much emotion. She had known it was a possibility when Ty departed the temple that evening. It was unpleasant news though, the girl had been an ally as well, and a friend of Dallas' even if she herself had spent little time with her.

Evil felled by the evils created from it's own actions. It was the way of things.

"Recent events should be reported to Sylvire. It was a failure in communications that allowed such evils that occurred amongst our own, it wouldn't do to repeat the same mistakes." she said finally as she rose. The two would likely be in need of some privacy anyways.

Rahal smiled, his fingers lacing with her. "I. I lost my temper. When I found it was her to kill you." He touched a hand, gently, to her throat if she allowed. "I was so angry. I listened to my magic then, I suppose, and reacted, finding her and destroying everything within miles." He murmured, his heart hurting. "She was on a cliff as it crumpled beneath her. That is what killed her. She phased through my attack, but the cliff crumbled." He was still horrified he had been so far gone as to use that attack. That horrifying attack that made him into a living magical bomb.

The kiss on his forehead calmed him greatly and he wrapped his arms around her gently, if she would allow it. She was real, he could feel her. In his arms, ever so amazing. Once again, all was well in the mage's world.

But wait, a momentary bump had to be solved. "My artifact. I gave it to Whisper to protect, just before she attacked you. I did not know she would.." He went silent, and merely shook her head.

She merely nodded, revelling in the fact that all seemed well, things were- almost- right with the world. "The greatest evils in all the multiverse can find redemption if they try. And...remind me never to push your temper." She couldn't help it, all this heavy drama was getting to be too much.

"If Whisper had your arifact, it's likely buried at the bottom of the sea. The fewer people that know that information, the safer it will likely be. We'll tell Sylvvire, and see what she has us do. But for now, you need rest."

Taima seemed troubled by this news. "If we are fortunate, she hadn't time to turn it over to the Orsa and it will be salvageable." she said.

To Ty she offered rare condolences, "You couldn't have known. Even with allies at Dallas' side, no one saw the deception until it was too late.".

She offered a brief bow of her head as she prepared to depart, "Will you accompanying me to the library?" she asked more for politeness sake. Ty did look like he needed a great deal of rest.

Rahal chuckles. "Yes, don't. I've only used that attack once before, merely to see if it work." He paused a second and smirked. "And it can stay at the bottom of the sea." He certainly didn't argue with the remark about rest, feeling bone-tired. "Yes. Rest." He murmured, his eyes already falling. "Remind me to check my allergy another time." He told her, falling asleep against her. "I need to know, but I think without the corruption, I will be healable."

Her touch no longer burned. it had begun to, before she died, though he hadn't shared the fact. But now. Her touch was as soothing as it had ever been. At Taima's question he roused himself. "I should. I have not spoke to our leader in some time." He murmured, bone weary, but willing to keep going.

Silent, she looked up to Taima and waved a hand, urging the dragonborn to go to Sylvire alone. She put her arms around Rahal, more than likely lulling him farther into sleep. <I will remain here with him. But you should alert Sylvire as soon as possible.> Mainly because her author has to go make dinner and all. ;)

Taima inclined her head in a brief nod as she moved to depart without another word.
